Question Pixel 6 notification light - Google Pixel 6

had anyone else seen the green notification dot/light just below the battery percentage area? I took a screenshot just to make sure it wasn't something on the screen but it doesn't show up on the screenshot. The only time I've ever seen it pop up is when I'm using Google voice and I have used the microphone on the keyboard to send a message

That's simply an indicator telling you the microphone is in use. I think there's a similar one for when an app is using the camera too - it's a "safety feature" so no app can use them without your knowledge or something.

thanks

Yeah, unfortunately, it is not a notification led, just graphics on the screen.

Da_G's kernel and DAGr8's ROM supports BLN (back light notification) which uses your capacitive lights as a notification light.
What zer0ninesaid above plus there is NoLED, which I prefer over BLN. It uses icons to idicate what is notifying you so you don't need to invoke a pavlovian response to a blinking button, lol. Plus it has some additional tools like Proximity Sensor so the screen won't turn on when in your pocket.
Somewhat related, I just stumbled onto this notification app, iphone notifications, from the market and it was just the ticket. One of the problems with Google talk, Gmail is that there is no pop-up to notify you which is what this app does. Now my wife, an iphone-convert, can't complain about not getting the text pop-ups she's used to.
BTW, this could be a stretch but I couldn't get BLN to work together with Iphone Notifications.
What if you stay stock? Is there anything out there?

As kimocal said, NoLED is awesome. I have used it for over a year on my Vibrant (same screen technology). It pops a moving icon up on your screen when it is turned off, you hit the power button again to turn it back off completely, otherwise the appropriate (email, gmail, txt, and other) icons move around on the screen. You can set individual app icons and their color. Worth checking out. Used very little juice since black is displayed as off on our screen, only the small portion with the colored icon is actually on.
Just tried the NoLED, but think I'll stick with Missed Message Flasher.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I just can't see how NoLED doesn't decimate battery life. The device is on, running, screen is on (I'm sure OLED doesn't use zero power when on, regardless of pixels shown), etc. I assume it's only on when there's an un-acknowledged notification, but even at that...
Even just running the proximity sensor all the time is a drain. I dunno, I'd assume it wouldn't be popular if it killed your battery, perhaps I should give it another try..

LED Notification Light Mod Request

Quick question here -
On the OG Evo my favorite mod was the WiMax notification mod that enabled the green WiMax light to stay lit when I received a text message.
I know the Evo 4G LTE doesn't have this light. Is it possible to have the blinking notification changed to a constant on? That way it's harder to miss when I get a new text message.
How hard would it be for a developer to make this happen?
Thanks in advance!
And to go along with this could we get a mod so that the notification light doesn't time out after 5 minutes if it hasn't been checked? Kind of a useless light unless you look at your phone every 5 minutes. It is one of the main reasons I switched to Cyanogenmod on my EVO Shift.
The constant on mod would be nice. I wouldn't have to stare as long wondering if it is in fact blinking.
I use Handcent and while it's a little bloated it does allow you to set the charging light to flash when a text is received and also the frequency and color of the flash. It might be an option for you until someone creates a mod.

Wait, the notification light times out after 5 minutes? Seriously? I thought maybe I was just seeing (or not seeing) things. That's irritating.

I also had that app in my Evo. It was from a developer in xda but when I tried to install it, it said was not supported. Wish the developer would redo for us.

I use hand cent also. Can you please point us to where you would adjust the color of the flash? All I see is a setting for blink led. But no color setting.

I actually really like the stock one that is included in this build. I've had sketchy results with third-party apps in the past and don't really need the extra bloat typically.
Appreciate the suggestion though, that's more along the lines of what I'm interested in. A constant-on notification light would be perfect.

Menu/Settings/Notification Settings/Notification Settings (again)/Check the "LED Plus" box. You should then see a dropdown for LED color (Green or Amber) and another for LED Frequency. Not sure if you have to be rooted to select LED Plus.
I used the wimax notifier on the 4g, but it would be great if a ROM developer could include some tweaks for this!
I use this and it is godly light flow
It takes a while to figure everything out but once you do it's amazing

I'm on 4.2.5 and it's been there through multiple updates. It's possible it wasn't included for the LTE I guess, I'm still using the OG EVO (for now). Maybe someone else can verify. It would be hard to believe they would remove it for certain phones but who knows.

I also tried this and although it works if my phone is silent the light turns off after a couple seconds if my sound is turned on. Also, the light doesn't flash it remains constant which I don't mind at all. However, I need to hear my phone sometimes so until that gets cleared up this isn't an option for me.
Ok for handcent there are a couple things but it does work even on our EVO LTE.
First I don't think the option is called LED Plus any more. To get to those options open up one of your text messages like you are reading it and at the top right side there is a little gear settings button. Click that and select Notification Settings. When you scroll down you will see three settings under the heading "LED Settings"; Blink LED, Color of LED and LED flash frequency. Those settings would have solved our problem. The problem is they are grayed out on our new phones. Bummer. I guess it means handcent isn't fully compatible with Sense 4 yet.
We can get around that though!
Now back out of your messages so that you are at the main screen of handcent where you can see all the contacts who have messaged you. Now press menu> settings>notification settings>notification settings. In here you will see a set of options called reminders. Turn on reminders and make sure the frequency is set for 5 minutes. 5 minutes is when Sense will usually time out a notification. Also, make sure to set the number of reminders to keep repeating so that every 5 minutes you get a new reminder. These reminders seem to restart the notification to your phone. You will get another notification sound/vibration or however you have yours set up and the led light will continue to flash like you just received the message. I don't think there is a way to not have the sound/vibration go off again unless your phone is on silent. Doesn't bother me since if I haven't checked the notification by then that means I still need to be notified.
Another cool thing about handcent is if you like the way the stock messaging app pops up your text on the lock screen handcent can do that too. It's in the options to popup on lockscreen and you also have to check the option for popup on lockscreen fix for some phone on Android 2.2+. You can even check an option somewhere in there so that the popup only shows up on the lockscreen and not when you are using the phone.
With these options I can make handcent function identical to the stock messaging app but have my notification led remain on forever until I clear it. I also turned off notifications for my stock messaging app and under display settings in my phone turned off led notification for sms/mms so handcent is controlling them.
Unfortunately this does nothing for emails, phone calls, etc but really texts are the one thing I need to know about since it is the primary way my wife communicates with me during the day.
I have also tried Light Flow but it doesn't seem to work at all. My notifications still turn off after 5 minutes even in direct mode.

[Q] Notification LED

This is one of the most important feature for me. eventhough older phones had this, recent smartphones seem to ignore this much needed feature.
ok, coming to the point
I use liteflow and is it ok to blink it every 5 seconds to show me the phone signal. i somehow like that feature and ive concern whether it will 'really' affect my battery life and 'LED LIFE'. because in a day, if ive set the phone signal notification, it would blink thousands of time in day!!!.is that ok?
I'm not sure of the battery drain of using this but it surely can't be much, I guess you would be best to just try it out and post the results
I read that LightFlow causes significant wakelocks on the SGS3. Might want to watch out for that.
Yep, I'm happy too that they've bought back the led notification but I would also like to know how many colours this led can display. From the YouTube videos I've seen, it's more than three.
yes.use liteflow app. but even with that app, i dont see the custom color which i selected from the app used in led. its somewat matching. thats all
Wakelocks only occur when the app needs to switch the led colour, you can disable that feature in the settings, so that it only highlights the most recent notification.

Huawei Ascend G630 does not LED notify light WhatsApp messages

Hello
Ive seen a Huawei Ascend G630 that a friend has and he told me that the notification light when receiving WhatsApp messages does not work. The light is green by WhatsApp configuration.
How can I test the notification light is working correctly? When charging, it does light up.

I have Huawei Acend G630,and I have issue with LED indicator, its only on when charging or when the battery is low..its off for notification,I tried many apps to test it and its not blinking.
My friend have a same phone (just white edition, mine is black) and his LED indicator is blinking on notification.
HELP me,what to do,I had a BlackBerry, and i get used to led indicator,i want it to work on my g630
I'm not sure if this is the same as your problem, but my old phone only had blue and red LEDs, so setting the light color to green would result in nothing. If changing the color doesn't fix it, then I don't really know what the issue is, but you could try using an app such as Light Manager to test out the light.
Tried
Tried with that app and no light works when testing..... maybe a update???

OK, on usual devices, just drag your application to the app info icon and when it opens, on the top left corner just below the app name you can toggle on/off notifications. Please let me know if this works.

Well making a new Google Account for this doesn't make sense. Also, the person before had the same Google Account on another phone and the notifications were lit up perfectly on the person's previous phone. Anyways, I DOUBT this has ANYTHING to do with, for example, WhatsApp, notifications.

It sounds odd because by defect it IS activated so why would it be deactivated? Also, with the widget and the light manager app it does not light up either.
There was to be some strange software bug in MIUI playing up here.

The glitch is a side effect of restoring from your Google account to the phone, which is part of the setup process for the phone. The feature downloads apps and settings from the cloud, which is usually a good thing. But in some instances it can tell the phone to restore the notification LED setting from another phone, leaving the light disabled with no way to re-enable it.
Fortunately there's a simple fix for this issue, and it's one that apparently applies to Motorola and some other phones too...
Motorola has released a widget that lets you toggle the notification light on and off, so if you're affected by this bug simply download it, place it on a home screen and toggle it on. After that you can remove the widget and your notification light will continue to work.
I dont know why but this bug comes with old google acc.
My LED was dead(it was on only on charging and batery low,not for notification),and I did factory reset, create new google acc. installed Notification light widget, and LED started to work, then I installed a Light manager for editing colours for notification.
Strange but black G630 have this bug, white G630 LED works perfectly.

Is the widget for activating it when you receive a notification? I might have been doing something stupid as in just toggleing on and off without doinging something.
Im going to turn it on using the widget and then send a WhatsApp to that person and see if it works.

Creating a new Google Account is a overkill and completely out of the question. At most, in the Google account, there has to be a setting to receive notifications. But even then, notifications are received perfectly; It just the light that doesn't turn on!

3 Bugs I cannot find fixes for. Gmail LED/Missed Call Notifications, Wireless Chargin

I've searched forum plenty, seen replication of these issues and tried suggest fixes, nothing works.
1) Gmail LED. When I get Gmail mail, I get notifications in lock screen and top notifications bar, but no LED light flashes like it does for other apps (example, yellow for unread Snapchat). I've tried enabling various notification permissions.
2) Missed calls. If I miss a call, I have zero notifications of this. I only noticed if I happen to open my Dialer app and I see it in the logs. Otherwise, no notifications on lock screen, nothing at top notifications bar, no LED light, nothing. I've tried suggested fixes like disabling spam caller id.
3) for some reason my phone thinks it is wirelessly charging at random times. I do not own any wirelessly charging devices.
4) double notifications sound and vibrate. See here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/help/double-notifications-t3768124
I have Samsung s9+ unlocked, using stock launcher. SAB enabled.
I've tried Samsung support and they don't have a clue. Any help?
Updated with a #4 problem I've found on my phone
I also have the samsung unlocked version and I'm not experiencing any of those problems. I have also read a couple other post about it, I have sab enabled and using stock launcher too. Could it be a carrier thing maybe?
1. I normally use Lightflow for LED control, and get LED notifications, but to try this out I disabled LF and sent myself an email. No notification light. And I don't see anywhere in settings to control this.
2. Ditto for Lightflow. Don't have any missed calls to check without LF at the moment.
3. Haven't noticed this.
4. Haven't noticed this, either.
Check out Lightflow. It really make the LED useful and informative, letting you choose different colors, blink patterns, and vibration patterns (if you want) for each different type of notification.

Yes, Lightflow Pro.
But using LF on Samsung phones is a little weird. There's a version of LF called Lightflow Legacy, which works better on Samsung phones. I think you can just install the legacy version to test it out. If you install the Pro version, it will prompt you to install the legacy version over top of Pro.
