I have tried porting oos cam apk and its necessary service framework/libs on A12 these days, however it keeps crashing.
Does anyone have the solution to port the oos cam on A12?

hi, i have installed many roms on my oneplus x but i cant get any good images on the custom roms as compared to the stock oxygen os camera. Even with the stock OOS camera app on the custom roms, it doesnt seem to work because i think the OOS camera HAL has to applied to custom rom. Can someone port oxygen os camera HAL for the custom roms. It'll be great for other users too...

The HAL isn't just a bunch of files, its not possible to provide a flashable zip for it.
The HAL is one of the deepest cores of the AOSP framework, so you're better off requesting the maintainer/developer of your preferred ROM to incorporate the OOS HAL.
For example, a few ROMs like GZR, CosmicOS and some unofficial builds floating around on our Telegram group have OOS HAL.

This tread is for understanding the working roms in xda for the Redmi Note 4X whit Omnivision Camera.
This is the working rom that i know for now.
Lineage 13 (Last may build) camera working.
Halogen OS camera working
ACIP (Android Ice and Cold Project) camera working
I know this 3 roms.
If some one know more roms that support Omnivision Camera Driver write here.
yesterday flash legend rom and slim rom,i have same problem with both rom. i cant access rear camera,when i switch to rear camera still on front camera but upside down.
idk if the problem only with omnivison,but when i tried with samsung sensor everything normal.
We need a fix for this.
For Now Acip,Halogen OS and Lineage 13 are fine.
I think the problem is in the kernel because yesterday when i flashed the velvet kernel my camera stop working.
This needs some more attention, it doesn't seem to hard to fix because some roms already have the support and I would like to see all roms support the omnivision camera.

Might be part of it but using AICP kernel on RR doesn't make the rear camera work

I wanted to install gcam in Mi 8 Lite lucky i found gcam but after it the stock camera is not working..
I enabled camera2api from system build prop..
After this gacm is not working but MIUI camera is working ... Then i flash gcam for platina. Zip(magisk module) .. gcam working good with night mod but MIUI camera is not working ....
I'm running Android 10 MIUI 12 any solution..?
I also install miui 12 camera but force close when open setting or video ....
Any solution or new camera app that works with gcam .. I wanted both because slow motion not working in gcam and it is not stable... Plz help

I need a good camera app that supports macro, portrait,and can shoot at my full mega pixel(48mp back, 24mp front)
How it started;
I managed to flash derpfest android 13 unofficial rom but the camera app is really basic and lacks the above mentioned features so i decided to go back to my stock rom
I backed up my stock camera then i reflashed the gsi but on installing the camera app it keeps crashing
I tried many gcams and some other apps but they crashed too
I later managed to find out my device doesn't support camera2api which is required for gcam
I just need a way to make my stock camera app work on this new rom
