Is anyone else having the issue that when you set your phone to vibrate, or silent, that there's no longer any icon showing up on the notification bar?
Pixel users on Android 12 are complaining about vibrate not showing up. They say that silent does show up. They also say that by pulling down the shade they all show up. Pulling down the shade makes no difference for me. What happened here? Did Google push an update that broke this necessary feature? Any help will be appreciated.
I found the answer to my problem. I used ADB to null out ALL blacklisted status bar icons. I do not know how any of them were blacklisted but all credit goes to ...

Thanks for that reminder. Actually I had used in the past both of the top System UI apps. Guess I for got about them. Anyway, the method I found requires no app install and fixed my issue.

I really like the blocking mode built into the os, but is there any way to remove the notification from the status bar when blocking mode is enabled?
Sendt fra Tapatalk
I have same query
I was wondering the same thing , its great but also a bit annoying being in the notification bar
Not that i know of, but it should stay there, you need to know it's on since it disables key functions.
I noticed that, while blocking mode was enabled, whatsapp sounds still go off in the middle of the night.

True, but we don't need to know it's enabled when it's not doing anything. If you set the between time it should disappear when it's not affecting anything.
Looking for a way to get Tasker of NFC Task list to enable and disable it.
Yeah... this notification is pretty annoying...
I hate it too... And just like everything else it shows how samsung can't make 100% good software.... Everything is always "almost good"... There is always something that spoils everything... That's why I can't stay with sammy rom for too long...

when you try to change the sound of notifications in whatsapp, and you select "Default ringtone" it doesn't use the notification ringtone, it uses your call ringtone, it's really annoying, but I think that's why, it's whatapp's fault
really hate this "feature" to notify me about blocking mode not being enabled...
annoying
yeah I agree this thing is completely annoying, it should be in the status bar when on, not when off! Image having a notification all the time that says your alarm is scheduled to go off in 8 hours.

that's the beauty of technology.. nothing is "perfect" otherwise, if everything is perfect on sammy then we wouldn't be in XDA now, would we?
I managed to hack away this notification!
The process is relatively lengthy, and does require a rooted, deodexed ROM... But it works!
The notification will be COMPLETELY removed - it will not show up even when blocking mode IS actually active (i.e. during the active hours).
Anyway, in case you're interested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32872016#post32872016

isn't it easier to access the resources folder, look for the block mode icon and delete it?

I'm not sure if that'd work. It might remove the icon from the notification bar (the thin one on top), but likely not the ongoing notification when you drag it down fullscreen.
I'll try tomorrow and post it, but I think I remember seeing all that icons (the quick settings icons too) in system framework...
JFYI, I've put a couple of CWM zips together, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943987
By the way, couldnt find the icons on framework.apk
if you pull down your notification bar and press and hold blocking mode notification you will see app info, click on that and you should see a box about notifications and if you uncheck that the icon and notification will go away.

You can't uncheck this one, it's checked and greyed out (in other words permanent).
Okay so this has happened on several themes that I've installed on my phone with this app...For whatever reason if my phone is on vibrate or for that matter with the volume up and I don't hear the notification sound of either a text or email, the notifications do not show up. The only way I know as if I check the notification bar...Is this a known issue?
Thanks

Hi, for now Themer only supports stock notifications to show up (if it's a widget). However they should show up as icon badges (see the Themer Settings Menu - Icon Badges, to see which apps it is set for). Themer doesn't change any sound settings though.
Hope this helps!
I have a voicemail notification on my S that just won't go away.. It says "some notifications cannot be cleared" even though I have no notifications on my phone.. Restarting makes no difference. Any one have any ideas? Thanks in advance

you have to go to the voice mail notification and swipe it own and dismiss it by it self
I have the same problem. I tried doing it thru the watch and it is still there
Yea, its greyed out in the notification itself.. Its just stuck
I had to factory reset my gear to get it to go away. I think it has something to do with the new update
Took me a minute to figure it out - here's how to fix this issue in about 3 seconds.
Go to the voicemail notification on your Gear S.. long press it until the little red minus sign appears at the top right corner, and "remove" the actual screen itself (it doesn't get rid of your notification screen don't worry, it just deletes the voicemail notification)
Profit.
Ha!!!! That worked!! Thank you
Thanks
Worked for me as well. Thanks.
This is really weird. Thank you for the tip. It works, but it is soooooo strange!!!!!
There are two different sources that the trigger the VM notification indicator on the Gear - the phone and the Gear's discrete VM. If you look at the indicator it has two different icons (a phone and watch) so you can tell where the message resides. Clearing the VM notification when it comes from the watch is fine; it deletes like every other notification. The VM notification from the phone is the one that gets stuck and has to be deleted by long pressing it. I have Visual VM so disabled VM notifications from my phone to my Gear since they're redundant any way. Visual VM notifications on the Gear work fine.
Awesome So much frustration , solved with such simplicity
This did not solve my problem. I can long press the notification, but no option appears to let me delete it.

same here
model : SM-R730T
If that's the case, then you have to power up the watch, not connected to the phone, and check the WATCHES voicemail. Then delete it after listening to it.

A huge pull for me was that notifications would show up on the second screen, out of the way. It seems to be working that way aside for whatsapp... Whatsapp is still showing a big heads up notification on top.. Anyone know of a way to get it to the second screen?
I am in the same boat, loved the idea of all notifications only coming through the second screen, but hangouts also shows a big heads up notification along with the second screen notification.
Bump
Damn ... I had a slew of WhatApp texts and V.M.'s over the holidays and forgot to check just where the Icon was on either/any screen. I guess just seeing the Icon was enough that I didn't think about it's location.
Later today I'll reach out for someone I know on it and see where it pops up when they reply.

I just updated my phone to android 10 but since the update this silent notification appeared and won't go away.
Does anyone know what causes that notification?
Try changing the notification settings in "health" app.

I see.. thank you!
Apparently it only appears when I set the notification setting to be silent. No way to remove unless the notification is changed to normal. But by changing it to normal the icon is always shown in the status bar.
Kinda liked it how it was before. No difference between silenced and normal notifications.
