[no more 😕] - Fire TV Android Development

[no more ]

Hey,
Thanks for releasing this.
I wonder if you can also add the functionality to control other cec actions like switching the HDMI Input of the TV to the port where the fire TV is connected.
Right now I don't know a way to this without root.

Nice app! Will buy to donate!

Good job !
I use it on a fire stick on a screen without IR remote.
Maybe you can add a speed decrease/increase when we maintain pressure on the Switch ?
Can you also make a real power off ans not only a stand-by ?

Any chance for getting an option to cap the volume so it doesn't go over 100%?

it doesn't seem to work with the latest fire stick update...

@Shaikh Amaan FM can i have the source code to improve it. or if you have github repository

[Jan 7] Kubuntu for HD2 v0.1.0 [htc-msm-2.6.32 26/12/10]

Kubuntu for the HTC HD2 version 0.1.0
This release is intended to be run via Haret from within windows mobile.
A MAGLDR version will be released as soon and problems have been ironed out.
Consider this a Technology preview and as such is not intended for daily use.
08/01/11 2:30pm GMT: Sorry for the delay in release I've had a few breakthroughs and decided to implement the changes now rather than do several releases in one week. PM me if you can host the files for me.
What is Kubuntu?
Put simply its the debian based Desktop class OS Ubuntu built with the KDE UI instead of GNOME
Whats special about this release?
Built from scratch - Using Rootstock to create a clean fresh ARM Kubuntu 10.10 rootfs.ext2 image with which to start from.
Finger friendly - Uses Kubuntu's Plasma Netbook UI tweaked in detail by me to allow for optimized touch experience without compromising on screen space.
Some examples:
Hide titlebar and menu bar on maximized windows - Menu, close and unmaximize all tucked into the top panel.
Unmaximized windows have big buttons on the titlebar.
Large fonts in menus
Easily switch between open apps - Uses Desktop Effects to zoom out and present all open windows in a sexy grid, all from a quick tap of the top panel
Better experience - Some niggles from the original Ubuntu 0.2/0.3 release have been addressed:
Better Keyboard - kvkbd - comes with Kubuntu already
Better click and hold options - Thanks to Clickity you can customize your click and hold experience
Overhaul of connectivity options - Completely rewritten connectivity scripts to include intelligent notification tray icon and messages to inform you of 3G/Wifi/USB modes and Internet connectivity. Store settings and choose what option you require on startup. All accessed from a little connectivity icon at the bottom of home screen
==Note: Not quite finished this yet, waiting till i have finished it and packaged it into an installer so HD2 Ubuntu 0.3 users can have it too before i release my kubuntu build. Fingers crossed its only an hours work away.
What Works
3G - Added system tray notification support, Showing if 3G is on and also if it is connected to internet or not.
Wifi - Uses WICD. Default network-manager almost worked, it showed available wifi points but could never complete a connection, reverted to WICD
USB Host - connect lots of different usb devices. See this for instructions
USB Network (Not been able to use internet sharing as yet but can ssh)
SMS and Phone using latest ofono 0,25-1 and Sphone 0.0.5 - no sound tho
Battery notification! - Works perfectly giving status in taskbar, Icon shows charge level, plugged and unplugged icons too.
What still does not work - Mostly Kernel related I am not working on these currently I have simply made a new filesystem see htc-linux for info.
Sound
Bluetooth
GPS
Accelerometer
Hardware buttons not functional
No Screen Rotation
Suspend/Sleep - Power management set to turn off screen after 4 mins to conserve battery. Set in Power saver mode when unplugged Performance when plugged.
Q&A Bugs issues and Workarounds
There is no keyboard on login screen and I need to enter a password i I have enabled paswordless login so just click the (>) to login.
Keyboard Closed - Click on Home at the top left and reopen kvkbd.
Press and hold does not right click - Clickity should be on the taskbar, if not open from Utilities on Home screen. You can toggle the press hold action by pressing the mouse taksbar icon repeatedly until the icon shows the required function.
Freezes -
Can happen if your running something intensive. Wait a few minutes without touching anything and often it comes back to life do not repeatedly click anything you will make it worse.
Often its just one app causing the problem. Bring up the keyboard with floating shortcut and the following shortcuts may help (Click it once and wait a mo if your system is freezing):
Ctrl + Alt + Esc - Turns the pointer into a skull and crossbones app killer, next click on the unresponsive app to kill it.
Alt + F4 or Ctrl + Esc - Normal Close.
Ctrl - Alt - Backspace - restart the x-server
Other useful keyboard shortcuts
Win + D - Go to Home/Desktop
F11 - Fullscreen App toggle, only for some programs.
Alt + Tab - Switch to previous open window
Install Instructions
Extract the linux folder to the main directory(!) of your Storage Card.
If the linux folder is not located in the main directory of the Card,it will not work.
Note: This will not touch your phone's internal memory. WinMo or other Linux/Android builds remain unchanged.
Startup Advice
1) Save all your current work and start the HaRET executable in the linux folder of your SD card to boot Linux.
2) Wait a few moments untill you see the Kubuntu login screen. Do not press anything and it will auto login after a 10 second delay.
If you accidentally click the screen you will notice the password vanish and there is no keyboard! Never fear passwordless login is enabled so just click the (>) to login.
3) Enjoy
4) Shutdown using the power icon on the top panel.

My apologies to everyone for the delay in release.. I have a few more bugs to iron out mainly performance issues and i've expanded my own software to handle network mode notifications etc even further so it should be fully comprehensive. Im also looking into modifying sphone to work better on HD2, I've already revised the icon set so the ugly black and white network signal icons are now beautiful. I will release this as soon as I am happy it runs perfectly. A couple more days and you will have all my efforts to play with! Please anyone get in touch if you can host the download for me and I will send you a copy as soon as I am ready.
The wait is almost over!

A nightmare has befallen my HD2, the usb port has come loose and I am unable to charge it to complete this work, I have just ordered a cradle with spare battery charging slot so when it arrives I'll finish the last bit of work I have to do. I managed to sort out most of the performance issues and am really happy with the battery life, general usability and finger friendliness. Theres just a bit of testing to be done on my custom made software and its ready to go! Devastating I cant test usb host mode. Guess I'll have to find a HD2 with the spare parts I need on ebay as repairing the usb is not an option, theres nothing to solder back its torn the connections on the board.

have you looked at following the tracks on the board towards the closest part, and solder a wire between that and the connector?
it's close to what i done on my modified usb hub to bypase the diode which original protects the host usb port and controller chip, so the external powersupply powers everything.

[MOD] No Wake On Charge v0.3.1 [TW/S5]

No Wake On Charge keeps screen off when usb/charger cable is plugged in or unplugged. This module works fully only on Samsung Galaxy S5 as it uses non standard (AOSP) way of waking up the display.
I tried to use various other Xposed modules but none removed the plug in wake.
It works like this:
Screen wake on plug in - changes android.os.PowerManager#newWakeLock(ACQUIRE_CAUSES_WAKEUP | SCREEN_BRIGHT_WAKE_LOCK, "charger plug") to PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK only (based on fix by @tdunham http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799050). Again, this is S5 only fix.
Screen wake on unplug - sets config_unplugTurnsOnScreen to false (this is well known and used solution)
Beep on plug in - disables com.android.systemui.power.PowerUI#playSound(1)
There are few more hooks in versions 0.2 and higher (supports wireless charging as well).
This (old) module is designed for Samsung Galaxy S5 running stock Android 4.4.2. If you need compatibility with newer version of Android, use this module: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xposed-tweaks-cm-t3279109 which works with Android 5.0 (and newer once released).
Great job! Finally my T-Mobile note 3 running X-note doesn't wake up when I plug the charger. Only module that works on touchwiz and I've tried them all.

Yeah, such option is in Cyanogenmod and most probably other ROMs as well. GravityBox and other modules also offer this but nothing was working fully with TouchWiz.
I'll test on my xperia :good:
Thought I would give it a shot ? on TW custom stock Super S4 rom on galaxy S4 SPH-L720, didn't work. Don't have GravityBox.
@moneytoo:
For my device it seems to be enough to set the unplugTurnsOnScreen. The handleLoadPackage part even throws a cant find class exception. Can you please provide an option to set boolean only?
Works great on my T-Mo S4 running Insane Kit Kat
Sent from my Insane S4.
I didn't expect this to work on the HTC One (M8), as it seems to be a Samsung tweak. However I found a non-Xposed app SnooZy Charger that does the job fairly well. So, if the plugin doesn't work for you, this is a viable alternative.
How do I know that the module is working?

There are already multiple modules dealing with this config option alone (at least GravityBox, Wanam Xposed, ScreenTweaks, Xposed Additions, Wireless Charging Xposed...) so I don't think it's worth providing anything more. This module is intended solely for S5 (maybe for few more TouchWiz devices).
Thx, GravityBox has no such option (i thought first, i translated not correctly), Xposed Additions & Wanam Xposed a lot to much options, Wireless Charging does not work (im charging with usb), ScreenTweaks is for Sony Xperia
So it would be nice if you could do it, but i'm also able to do it my self if it's okay for you

I'm not into adding any additional functionality as it works perfectly as I need and once you start adding options to disable plug/unplug wakes only, you will also enable/disable sounds. Then someone will want to change the sounds. Then someone will want to blink LED instead... Feel free to do anything you want to.
Doesn't disable beep on plugin on T-Mobile G3

[Q] Boost haptic feedback duration

Hello all
I have a OnePlus One running CM12 (unofficial). My haptic feedback for virtual button presses is very weak. I *may* have affected performance of the motor a when trying to solder a Qi receiver into the handset, as I accidentally touched the battery live to the motor causing it to run at full power for a few seconds. Otherwise, I could be totally imagining it and it could be caused by CM12 [edit: I have tried Paranoid Android and it is super weak on PA too]. Either way, I just want to make the haptic feedback duration for virtual button presses a few milliseconds longer so it's more noticable.
I have managed to do this for Google Keyboard in the app settings and it works nicely.
Otherwise, vibration intensity is set to maximum, which is good for notifications, but I really need to increase the duration, not the intensity. Is there a way to do this in Android... like the equivalent of a registry tweak or something?
Thanks
Mike

If you want to set your own values they are located in the framework-res.apk\res\values\arrays

Introduction:
Sequence unlock is an Xposed module which allows you to unlock your phone with a sequence of volume keys (Example: U U D ).
With this module you can unlock your phone in a simple and nifty way and avoid using the default android lockscreen altogether.
You will need to set up a sequence of your choice in the module settings. The default sequence is: U U U
Features include:
Unlock device even when the screen is off.
Disable default wake buttons (Power button, home button etc.)
Bypass the android screenlock
Compatibilty:

Tested devices:
Sony Xperia 4.2
Samsung Galaxy S3 4.4 (CM11)
BUGS:
Sequence Unlock is currently not compatible with the Physical button music control module.
Download:
Note: I had to change the package name to differentiate the module from it's PRO version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Working like a charm with MT6572 phone :good:. Every function is working great (including unlock from deep sleep)! This is some cheap non-branded china phone with Android 4.2 just for you to know.
Edit: It is also working with Galaxy Gio (s5660) on CM11 (Android 4.4.4). (Including unlock from deep sleep).

Awesome I'll test it and report any found bugs. Physical button music ctrl Module doesnt have mapping over single volume button click, yet it somehow breaks functionality as it follows - when phone is in dock - volume buttons act as Wake trigger (only when docked - native behaviour) but with that module nothing happens on vol but. press. And while Phys. but. M Ctrl was activated, Sequence Unlock wasn't functional. If you need any logs or feedback let me know.

thanks man am waiting u :good:
Update on 1.4.
With bypass option, module now unlocks the screen - Xperia Z stock rom A 4.4.4 bn 292 Odexed.
Yet it only unlocks if the screen is ON - courtesy of PBMC module. I also tried playing with the settings and mappings of PBMC but no success. The issue lies in the Capture Mode - If Screen off + Lockscreen selected, - then Sequence module will not work at all. If Screen Off only, then Sequence U. will work with screen ON + lockscreen. So issue is in PBMC and its button capture mode (even if no custom option is set for volume up/down click)
would be great if you will add features such as, long press for flashlight or camera, sequence for open specific apps...
other than that, great module, keep it coming..
working great on note 2..rom dn4 :good::good:
edit : its only working right after i lock the phone...not working after phone deep sleep..
I like the idea. Will be waiting for Lollipop support.

[APP] Arc Lighting - Notification Light for Galaxy S10/+

Hey everyone!
I'm here to announce the release of a new Android app developed by me and my partner under the company "Symetium Corporation."
REMOVED
The app is basically just a list of things we would really want to be able to put around the camera cutout. It's extremely customizable and has endless combinations of setups. For example, you can enable a setting called 'Always Show Ring' which lets you have a solid color, dynamic color (based on the current app), or a few different types of gradients. In addition to that, you can run a rotation animation on it. Finally, you can also set up different indicators such as a notification indicator, an audio visualizer, a charging indicator, a low battery indicator, a critical battery indicator, and a device overheat indicator. Another notable effect is that you can add a glow effect to spice up the ring's appearance.
The app isn't free because we need to make back some of the development costs as well as fund our exciting upcoming projects, HOWEVER, you get 1 free hour of use and can watch short video advertisements in exchange for additional hours of time using the app. If you can't afford to purchase the app, we understand but would still love it if you would take a moment and try the app for an hour or two!
Compatible Devices
- Galaxy S10+
- Galaxy S10
- Galaxy S10e
Download
The app can be found on the Google Play Store here:
REMOVED
If you have an S10, S10+ or S10e, we'd love for you take a bit of time and try it out. Feedback is extremely crucial to us at this stage of development so we'd love to hear back from you! Thanks for your time!
Update:
Announcing support for the Galaxy S10e!
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this new update. We really appreciate your help!

Hey everyone thanks for the feedback! I just released an update to fix the positioning issue. Apparently, I was using the wrong method for device detection. Basically, you were all seeing what I see when I test rather than what you SHOULD have seen using an S10/S10+. Apologies for the confusion! The update should rollout within the next few hours.

It works as long as you have Always-On display enabled. Our goal eventually is to make it work regardless of whether or not AOD is enabled.

i got a very big cutout in s10+
@epicality
its still out of position with latest update, it's get little better when using WQHD+ resolution, but using FHD+ makes it worse.

Thanks for your development!
I currently purchased your program and hope for further upgrades.
Bugs I found:
1. The program cannot correctly recognize the phone model (Hong Kong S10 SM-G9730), see attached screenshot.
2. The position of the ring coincides with the position of the camera.
If you're having issues with the app recognizing your device, please download the app "Phone Device Info" by "sadens studio" and send a screenshot of the first section like so:
