Hi,
I create and set the Wifi hostspot to 5 GHz
But the phone only transmits 2.4 GHz even if the setting is set to 5 GHz.
Can you try and confirm it?
Model: DN2103
Oxygen OS V11.3
DN2103_11_A.12
Hotspot at 5GHz works fine here (DN2103 on A.12)
Apart from the classic reboot and trying with another device, you could try to disable/enable the Wifi6 option in the hotspot settings, or disable hardware acceleration for the hotspot in Dev settings.
No, none of this works.
It's a firmware BUG !!!

Yes, but if you switch to 5 GHz it still transmits, but only 2.4 GHz.
Other users are already reporting this.

How is this possible?
I also tried a hard reset.
And someone reports the same problem as well.

I don't know , maybe a mass production flaw . Components and stuffs like Xiaomi with proximity sensor which affected almost all branches .
You complain about hotspot I'm complaining about "adaptive brightness" which is working in the worst way I even imagine .
How is yours ? Does it works ?
I haven't tried the adaptive brightness yet.
Otherwise the phone works fine.
Maybe I found the reason why the 5 GHz hostspot doesn't work.

Hey,
I've recently upgraded my Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 all to Android 4.4 and as soon as I upgraded my Wi-Fi has been awful.
The Wi-Fi is incredibly unstable, steaming media has major buffering / intermittency issues, messages sent over instant messaging apps are sometimes instant and sometimes take 30+ seconds to send.
Skype is the most telling of the issues as it randomly loses connection and my notifications literally never come through...

I've tried Channels, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11
I've also tried adding
Code:
gDataInactivityTimeout=200
to the WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file as found: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2300873
Wi-Fi is Always On, Wi-Fi Frequency is Auto or 2.4, Wi-Fi Optimization is Off.
The wireless / wifi works fine on other tablets, laptops and wireless devices just my nexus devices on 4.4
Anyone got any ideas?
I think this logcat has everything "confidential" replaced however if anyone does find something please tell me, I've replaced my email with xxxx.xxxx and my usernames with xxxx

MTU Value is at Auto (1492, which my ISP recommends) although I've tried alternative numbers but still no luck.
Try the WiFi Keep Alive app from the Playstore and select Always On.
I know you already have this setting picked but I had the same issue and this solved it for me.
Good luck.

I just installed three different versions of Wi-Fi Keep Alive, the first one has 3 normal options then like 5 workarounds.
I'm trying the normal mode at the moment, so far so good it hasn't disconnected me YET
I picked always on + first workaround.
It worked great and haven't changed it since. That's 3 weeks now and it hasn't dropped out once
Hope that helped you.

Thanks, I'll keep trying as on my Nexus 4 it is playing up with just always on, I'm trying the workarounds.
Anyone else got any suggestions?
I bought a pre-owned T-mobile S5 to use on AT&T. I've sim-unlocked it, rooted it, installed CM12 on it. However I keep losing service. This is NOT an AT&T issue, as the tablet sitting next to it is on AT&T and works flawlessly. Do I need to flash a new modem? Or do something else to make this work closer to flawlessly? I already searched the forums and couldn't find anyone with my problem.
Thanks in advance.
Possibly you have to edit the APN settings. I did a small thread on what you need to do to use a Tmobile s5 on AT&T:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/help/tips-using-g900t-att-t2975336
Thanks, I assume when I inserted the sim card, the APN info was loaded, as I've not touched that part, and it's already on my phone. That doesn't seem to be my issue. Any other suggestions?
I've been having the same issue for months. I went back to a stock rom and recently came back to AOSP, but I forgot I was having constant signal drop.

I am having the same issue. Can you tell me what modem/rom are working the best for you? Thanks!
Solution!
My particular solution does require xposed and gravity box module.
I noticed that the cell signal issues only happen when I'm connected to WiFi.
I created a tasker profile that toggles mobile data off when wifi is on and changes the data mode to 3G only. I used the toggle data 5.0 plugin (see for details) in tasker to toggle to change to 3G.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
I then used the gravity box "change network type" action (see for details) to change network back to LTE and I used the toggle data 5.0 plugin to turn data back on when WiFi is disconnected. I guess this would be the end task?
I took a screenshot a couple hours ago of the result. Not one signal drop in 3 or so hours. I'm no expert in tasker, and these are the exact steps I followed.
I was having a similar issue with CM12.1 on AT&T using the G900T I actually posted on their forums about it: http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/106617-lte-issues-cm12-tmobile/ however it looks like they're has been any resolution..I had no issues running stock, and when I installed BlissPop (CM Based) I had no issues at all.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will try them out.

No you have to edit the Apn often times.

Hello all. This was a request so I threw this together today as a way of procrastinating and making the long weekend feel a little longer
Sony gives single sim users an easy way to enable/disable LTE from the quick settings. They don't have us Z3 Dual users the same luxury. Lets fix that! This xposed module allows quick and easy enable/disable of LTE for Sim1. Simply install, enable, and restart. Then add the tile the normal way.
LIMITATIONS and known issues:
1. Rarely the tile doesn't correctly update the state at boot. Simply enable and disable the LTE tile, it'll be fine afterwards.
2. Big one- The tile only works with Sim 1. The "Sim card for data traffic" setting will have no effect on this. So keep your data sim in slot 1. Sorry to those users wanting to switch back and forth.
3. The module was only tested on 5.1.1. It may work with 5.0. I've no idea about 4.4. Post your results.
4. A couple of checks were left out that were present in the original code. This module will assume sim 1 is capable of LTE.
As I said, I put this together in a few hours due to a request. It seems to work fine on my phone. But I haven't extensively bug tested it. Hence the 0.1 version number and beta status.
Regarding the limitations. If I have time, I may try to tackle them. #2 will require considerable work as the code currently only supports 1 sim. A number of portions will need to be rewritten. Although, honestly I'm very busy with work and I doubt I'll find the time. The source is posted with this module as usual. I put a few thoughts about this in the source comments. Anyone is free to give it a shot. That's the advantage of open source.

Very useful thx, I hope you make another version do that, ON --- Only LTE, OFF --- Only GSM,
Hello all,
I recently purchased my 5x and i have some questions about the LTE bands.
I do speedtests from time to time and sometimes i get 5 mbits, sometimes 10 and sometimes 40+
All of these results in the matter of a few minutes in the same house.
Until recently I did not know why this was, but now I understand it's because of the bands my phone switches between (3,7,40,41)
I wanted to know if there is a way to force or tell the phone to prefer one band to another, because even -115 dbm on band 40 is 5-7 times faster than band 3. If not, then Is there at least a way to check what band you're on, ive tried apps like LTE Discovery and they don't manage to tell me what band or frequency im on, and most of the USSD codes that should tell me this info don't work.
I would really appreciate it if someone with knowledge on this matter can help me out here

https://jioappstore.jio.ril.com/cms/ install netvelocity apk then run speed test. Under settings, enable advanced mode.
It'll display the band you are currently on.

As far as I know, you can't force a phone to use a specific band (it depends on the area you're in)
After installation the app crashes on startup

Hi there,
Unfortunately this app is not working on my device, maybe it's network dependent (Jio)?
would love to have a working app like this as I'm very curious about which lte band
my phone is on. tried couple dozen apps to no avail so far. and it seems huawei has
disabled radio info and some other parts of it's service menu.
anyone knows any other way?
I test prepaid plans and part of that process involves checking the QCI. I know that Exynos modems have limitations that Snapdragon ones don't. My Pixel 3 XL unfortunately is not supported for NSG and if I can test this with a 6, I'll definitely upgrade. Can someone who has root run NSG and see if it shows the QCI? I believe it normally shows on the second screen you can swipe to. The QCI is your network priority designation which basically tells you if your plan is deprioritized or not so it's valuable information for prepaid customers to have when evaluating if a plan is good for them.
Here's an example of what the page looks like.

Did you have to do anything special to get it working or just stock with root?
I am running stock rooted with Magisk since Google doesn't support VoLTE/VoWiFi in my country and I need to go via this route to have a complete phone...
By the way, how would you rate my QCI rating being at 5? Is this good/bad/average?
Thank you!

Awesome, it's great to hear it works without needing custom ROM or kernel because my 3 XL it doesn't work even with a custom ROM or kernel.
That page is actually reading the IMS QCI, I believe you need to swipe one screen left to get your data QCI. Data QCI runs from 6-9 under the standard model we use in the states with 6 being the highest priority and 9 being the lowest. I would imagine that this is universal since it's actually a 3GPP standard.
@mightyvenom So I actually just went and looked and it should be showing on that same page. I read in another thread that there is an issue if DSDS is turned on that NSG can get confused. If you disable it in *#*#4636#*#* and try again, does it show you the info?
It would be strange to not be able to read the QCI of the data APN but it's only seeing the IMS APN for some reason.

I just checked and DSDS is already disabled by default....while there is another option "Cbrs Data" enabled by default.
Does this help somewhat?
PS: I checked the other screens in NSG and there is no other info on this QCI parameter.

Hmmm I wonder if it's your carrier's settings.
I asked in this thread to see if there is something that can be done to fix it - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-for-the-pixel-6-exynos.4380231/post-86325917
You would need to perform a new attach while NSG is running in order to see the QCI for default bearer. Just toggle airplane mode.
Rooted on Jan update won't boot... Uninstalled and reinstalled the app... Anyone have a work around for this issue?
