Hey, has anyone been able to install YouTube Vanced on the Pad 5 Pro? I can install Vanced manager and micro g but you tube gets aborted for some reason.
Ok so I've done it already...I just had to give permission to Vanced micro g to install apps.

As you have been told above, the problem is that Vanced micro G does not have the permissions to install applications. Once you have given it to them, it works perfectly.
I had to disable miui optimizations in developer settings for it to install.
Recently the battery optimization notification for Vanced micro g is appearing daily. Any ideas how to stop this? I'm on CN version mi pad 5 pro.

Hi everyone.
I have a problem with my A5 2016 (Snapdragon Version), the problem is YT app, I can't play ANY video in 1080p60fps.
I have this problem since I updated my device to android 6.0. I've tried everything what uncle Google suggested me.
Clearing data/cache, reinstalling updates...
When I had android 5.0 problem was solved by disabling HW overlays and forcing 2D GPU rendering in dev options.
Details of a problem:
Image freezes
Sound does not
I also had this problem while I owned S4, but then, I didn't even had option to choose 1080p60fps. (cm13 OPTIMIZED)
Phone not rooted, stock kernel and ROM, Knox flag untouched.
(1080p50fps works perfect)
Thanks for all responses.
Fix
Hi m8 found a fix! Just by using OGYoutube (unofficial yt app) 1080p60fps seems fine, on my device at least.
Try this, maybe it'll work.

It's not the problem I described (I can choose 1080p60fps, but image freezes and only audio is still going), besides I already did this what they suggest.
Does it do that on even the browsers?

Yup
Found an "solution", minimizing app and playing video after coming back to app makes 1080p60fps working, although 1080p50fps works flawless without this, only 60 is the problem

Store doesn't support downloading.
Direct download supports version up to 7.1 - I'm running 8.1
So it doesn't work
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Oh well... then we wait.
I wouldn't use Netflix if I were you, no L1 support means no HD and this pad's screen is just...

If you insist using this pad, try alternative apps with Netflix contents included. I'm not sure if it's good to share the app here so I give you the name of the app instead. (Hints: p*pc**rn times)
Around 200$, it's really tough to get a good display tablet. That's why I am stucked with this pad as well.?

sure i know about popcorn T
but if i have a subscription to netflix, seems unreasonable not to use it...
about the quality... well , before the MIUI update i could install from netflix website and it worked.!
i tried contacting netflix, they said android 8 support is in progress..seems weird, all other tablets with android 8 dont get netflix ?!
download this one. im using netflix on my mipad 4 and it works just fine. it even gets updated from play store. and as for the video quality on netflix, well....its good enough. not the sharpest quality, but its watchable.

Recently I just found this link that might help you a lot, it's a modded Netflix app which allows NON L1 device to play episodes in high quality. Never tried on Mi Pad 4. Good luck.
so i flashed a custom rom
it seems my device came unlocked, and i just had to flash twrp and rom
about netflix hd, how do i know what is the current quality im watching?
I am on xiaomi.eu MIUI 10, installed the apk and hid root from it with magisk and it is working quite good. Only thing, it doesn't stream on my Chromecast and anycast, even with libcrypto blocker magisk module installed.

Thank you , this one works, really helped me.
Here's a quick and easy solution for playing Netflix HDR content.
1. Be rooted with Magisk.
2. Install MagiskHideProps module.
3. Enable Force BASIC Key Attestation.
4. Use custom attestation value Mi 9T*
5. Reboot.
*We're using the value Mi 9T because it supports Netflix HDR.
Now you can play Netflix HDR content.
UPDATE: This is currently not working as this option is no longer available in MagiskHideProps module due to Google recently changing the way SafetyNet works. Will update this later once we figure our another way to do this.
Thanks HDR is working with this method. However I used the Indian variant Redmi K20 Pro which also enabled HD for Prime video.

Yes, I believe any device name from Netflix's list should work.

Hi, thanks for the guide but can you guide me in a bit more detail because I'm not able to get the meaning of Enable Force BASIC Key Attestation, does it mean that I have to change the fingerprint the value to that of Mi 9T or is it any other option or method present in the MagiskHideProps module?

Hi, I'm sorry but Google recently changed the way SafetyNet works so this option is no longer available on MagiskHidePropsConf.
