Hi! I hope everyone's doing well and okay.
Recently, I just updated my device software to latest 12.5.7 version and suddenly my Magisk root access didn't worked.
I tried using the latest TWRP (Boot A) & (Boot B) which made my phone bricked. Luckily, I was able to flash the stock (old) software version.
MY QUESTION:
Do we have an updated procedure on how to make the root access and TWRP compatible to latest software version 12.5.7?
Please help or else I will be stuck with the software version 12.5.5 just to have a proper root access.
Thank you and please be safe all the time!
Hello, what TWRP method did you use? I rooted my old 12.5.5 with this https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/poco-x3-gt-note-10-pro-twrp-and-magisk.4354825/ and didn't try the new unofficial TWRP on the new 12.5.7 ROM yet (upgraded just like you and lost root access).
I'm also looking for a way to root 12.5.7.

Hi there!
So now I'm back at 12.5.5 software version, just to have the root access so I won't update the software for now since there's no official way to root the latest 12.5.7
Btw, I used the one-click-tool thread file to root my device.

The link I mentioned might still work for rooting the device. I will try it and keep this thread updated. I'm guessing if the device is bricked or in a bootloop I can just flash the ROM through MIUI Flash tool?

You are correct. It can be flashed using Mi Flash tool easily.
Thank you for everything in advance. Let's hope for a full support for the latest software version soon. I can see people having a good feedback about the recent software update.
I'm just going to stick with the 12.5.5 for now.
Hi, I saw one of the threads here that there's a fastboot available for 12.5.7 latest software version.
I hope someone can share the process on how to get a root access as well for the latest software version.
Thank you!
Hi,
Did anyone root 12.5.7 yet?

Hi guys, first I want to apology if it has already been asked.
I'm running Android 6.0 (32.1.A.1.185) on my E5823. My phone is rooted and have Xposed installed (Hi Niantic)
I can't get rid of the notification for 32.2.A.0.224.
Should I update?
Will I loose root and Xposed? If so, how can I get rid of this annoying update notification?
Thanks a lot
You won't be able to update the official way without getting rid of the mods/root.

Okay thanks. How am I supposed to update then?

Uninstall Xposed framework and then you'll need to flash stock kernel using fastboot which would also remove whatever custom recovery and root you have.

Thanks. I'll do it for 7.0 I think
Hey, I was asking myself: if I install systemless root (Magisk), will I be able to OTA? (if Magisk is compatible with my phone, which I'm not totally sure)
Thanks

I wouldn't recommend it. Even if you do succeed in updating you could end up with a bricked device or just mess up your firmware and would have to do redo everything. Best is to bring it back to complete stock and then do the update.

Okay, thanks for the reply
I don't really see the problem. Just flash the latest firmware using Flashtool and then root again by using the rootkernel mod in this forum. Xposed and such aren't a problem either.
Hi
Is it possible to use Flashtool with twrp/root/xposed? Btw I think my bootloader is still unlocked.
And what should I use to root? Something like this or this?

If your bootloader is unlocked you should be able to follow both tutorials just fine.
In short:
Flash new firmware using Flashtool
Patch kernel of new firmware and flash it
Flash SuperSU and Xposed using TWRP
Enjoy life
If you need step-for-step help, just send me a PM with your instant messasing contact details. I'll help where needed.
Hi, thanks for the reply, I'll do that when I'll have more free time.
Instead of SuperSU, can I flash Magisk?
Bump
Thanks

You'll first need to downgrade to an older firmware in order to backup the TA partition. This thread describes everything very detailed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/how-to-backup-restore-ta-partition-root-t3479532

In my case MM 6.0.1 (.224 or .253) solved the battery drain issue during night/sleep, so i would highly recommend it. There is also a discussion regarding this.
as suggested by others, i would not directly OTA upgrade with modded kernel, Supersu and Xposed installed. I would do it with flashtool.
If you want to stick with the current version, simply disable/hide/remove the Software update app (or "hide all notifications from this app".)
I froze it a while ago with Rom Toolbox, but thanks

Hi, I'm still on 32.1.A.1.185
Flashtool (Emma) only allow me to install 32.0.A.6.200 (there is Customized MY and NOBA, don't know the difference) and 32.1.A.1.163 (only Customized_NOBA)
Why can't I update to a more recent firmware?
Thanks
Hi guys, I'm having hard times trying to root an already encrypted Honor 7.
What I tried:
-SuperSU.zip: the best effort was to corrupt the boot.img
-Kingroot: useless
I need your help.
Thanks
Use SuperSU v2.62 for root, link below. You can update it to the latest version from Playstore after rooting. (Worked for me, B380 eu firmware.)

Do you know which is the last binary supported?
I recently rooted my device using this tutorial:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/guide-root-using-magisk-stock-recovery-t3718203
The guy who posted it says that since we keep the stock recovery we can safely install OTA updates without any problems but he doesn't mention how. Is there a way to install OTA without getting bootlooped or bricked and of course without wiping everything? Also, Flashfire doesn't work on my phone (it kicks me out after loading). Besides I've heard that it can really mess up your device. Just please help out here because I really want to keep my phone updated without losing my data.
Thx in advance

Hello all
I recently switched from a Huawei Mate SE to the UMIDIGI F1 because turns out Huawei has blocked any means to unlock the bootloader (bastards). I've seen that Umidigi is more friendly in this respect so I was wondering what procedure or website you guys might recommend to follow to root the F1. Google brings up a few results but I would like to know from other's experience which one they think is best to follow since my expertise running adb is null (all my previous devices have been rooted running some app never directly from adb). Thanks for any help.
David C.
Update: I've successfully rooted my phone following this guide, only difference is that I installed the latest Magisk 19.1
Hallo. You can try this guide.

You may have to format data when first in TWRP to allow installation of Magisk

Thanks. I'll check mine and see why it failed. The update is ok but without root I can't install my firewalls and other blocking software. I'll try again.
Thanks! :good:
Yes i know it isnt aviable due to dynamic partitions. But is someone working on it? Can we donate something? Are there any possiblities? Anything new?
Thanks

Hi guys, I currently have 1.0.7 on my 7tPro McLaren Edition do you think it can root? Do I follow the guide? great Brick phone ... it seems that it is not possible to return, or better if I block the BL again then the restore with a rom via OTA is not done. If I insert the last TWRP installed from the unofficial 3.3.17 of Mauronofri the second one starts but then the download folder to complete the TWRP and Magisk does not see it ... the previous TWRP of the same author are not installed! Download solutions to show the download folder and install the 2 files ?? Thank you. N.B. back does not make me go, or rather block again the BL but does not make me repair the official rom restore 1.0.5, phone from paperweight at the moment ... thanks. N.B. however since I unlocked the BL I wish I could root.
