when I call someone, it indicates the right number. However, when I get a call, it indicates the wrong number. For example, my phone number is 00000and when the callers phone number is 11111, the phone indicates 111110000 not 11111. Stock rom and older custom rom shows the right number. but when I use newer or even updating it makes my phone indicates like that. Does anyone knows the solution?
PS. sorry for my poor english
I can think of a compromise. Remove your phone number from your phone settings.

Hello everyone.
To call a number in my city, I need to type just 7 digits, without area/country code.
But, the problem with Optimus One is, if it has a number stored in contacts (with another area code), it ignores my input and always calls a stored number.
Behavior has changed slightly with update 2.2 to 2.2.1 but problem still there.
Just to clarify what I mean: let's say my local area code is (123) and I want to call a local number 999-8877.
There is another number stored: +<country>(456) 9998877
On a 2.2 stock, LG O1 always called +<country>(456) 9998877, doesn't matter what I typed in - 999-8877 or even +<country>(123) 9998877.
On a V10g, so 2.2.1 - it's ok when I type full-format number (but quite boring),
but if I try to call just 9998877 - it still always calls +<country>(456) 9998877.
The same problem in Dialer One, Dialer2, Youlu - probably because they all use standard dialer api.
Not sure if it fixed with update to 2.3, requested LG support about that, but... well, I believe you understand what that means to ask LG support :-D
So, they did not answer at all.
Would appreciate any idea, especially if someone could check and compare 2.2 vs 2.3.
Thanks!
Since around the beginning of March I noticed that my phone is showing completely random numbers for all outgoing calls for people that I have in my contacts list. The numbers that it shows are not numbers that I have dialed or received calls from in the past. (If I long-press one of the dialed numbers, the "Call +***-***-****" line displays the correct number), so it seems to be more of an appearance issue. The numbers displayed seem to be consistent for the person I call. I do not remember making any changes around the time this started, but I did notice it about 1 week after it started, so I don't remember exactly.
The correct person is displayed, just a completely random number. When I called Verizon they had never heard of this issue, and the numbers it is displaying are not Verizon numbers. The area codes for the numbers are for completely different parts of the country.
The only dialing related program I have installed is Google Voice, but I am not making these calls using it.
Complete factory reset fixes it, but I don't want that so I did a nandroid restore afterwards. Clearing the recent calls list does not fix the issue.
See attachment for image of what it is doing. I would have linked it but apparently I need 8 more posts to do so.

Hi, I have noticed that when entering phone number in contacts like this (###) ###-#### or even like ###-###-#### when getting calls from them or even looking at the call history, it still shows the numbers as a long big line of 1###########. Is there a way to fix this and make it look correct?
I have been looking all over for something about this and can't find anything What I'm trying to do is take my disconnected Android device and change the physical phone number to my Google Voice number so it will pick up texts and what not. I need to do this because my phone will not install Google Voice...probably because it's rooted and my custom ROM is not compatible
My other problem is: I tried Whatsapp and they need a phone number to send you a text to confirm the phone...WELL when my phone got deactivated by my carrier (Cricket), they take your number away and change it to a number that's not even a real number with area code 555...which doesn't exist. Kind of in a jam here..
All I want to be able to do is send text messages through wifi without a phone data plan/activation. If there is an app out there that doesn't require a phone number to use and the receiver of my text messages do not need the same app to communicate, that would be great! Here's to wishful thinking lol.
Any help would be much appreciated Thanks
I know apps like Truecaller have this feature. However, that is not going to work for me (you will see why below).
I am trying to end the telemarketing calls to my phone once and for all.
What I did was get a Youmail account and I set blocked numbers to get the 3 tone thing with a "number disconnected" message if they try to call me from a blocked number or a number that is on my block list. This will tell that number to stop bothering to call me since it is disconnected (that 3 tone beep at the beginning tells their machines my number is dead).
It is not helping me much though because I keep getting calls from numbers that have my area code and prefix, but a different last 4 digits every time. I guess it's a spoof to try and make it more likely that I will pick up. As you can see, blocking these numbers are worthless since there are 9,999 of them.
However, if I could tell Android to block any number like so: 212-585-**** , then I would never get one again.
Unfortunately when I block all numbers containing 212-585 in Truecaller, it does not send the calls to the "this number has been disconnected" greeting, it sends them to my standard one which is useless for this endeavor. Basically Truecaller doesn't really "block" numbers at an OS level like Android does. It just hits the ignore button really quickly (I still hear half a ring). That's why it goes to my "regular" voicemail instead of my "this number has been disconnected" voicemail.
Anyway I do have root if that makes a difference. I'd really like to see Android include this in an update, but until then, if anyone could give me any advice on if this can be done, it would be greatly appreciated. My phone is a Google Pixel on the latest update with root.
