I flashed the factory image. It's a major update for T-Mobile and includes 5G carrier aggregation.

I'm still waiting. I'll wait.

Is the correct version for T-Mobile SQ1D.211205.017 or SQ1D.211205.016.A1?

I think the .A1 is for Verizon. I used the SQ1D.211205.017 version on my T-Mobile Pixel.

SQ1D.211205.017 for the US carriers SQ1D.211205.016.A1 (Canada and TW) SQ1D.211205.016.A4 (EMEA carriers)

It's the same update weather you manually flash it or received over the air right? It did T-Mobile include something in the ota?

So I flashed the ota update manually. I just checked T-Mobiles update page and it says this. Did I flash the wrong one? I did .17 . I won't be able to take updates ota now?

Wow opz187.. that's weird!
Have you figured out what happened?
btw.. To answer the OP, I have not seen the OTA yet.
Been checking frequently though.

I keep refreshing to see the update and there's nothing.

No update on mine yet.

I think they're going to skip December all together..
Januarys update will have its planned fixes along side the fixes to correct the maligned December update.

Edit: I didn't realize that 017 was a later update after 016 broke the radio + more. So is SQ1D.211205.017 working now?

I'm with you. There were other issues besides broken radio.. wifi calling and auto-brightness were both reported broken. I think best idea is to give Google more time to sort their problems out.

T-mobile S9/S9+ MIA Update.

This is pretty ridiculous. I get pulling the update on April 14th due to the boot looping. But.... its June 1st and still nothing. Like June Security is gonna be out and were still sitting on launch software or March if ur phone didn't brick. Any guesses as to what the hell the holdup is? My theory is they discovered that everyone's phone is a software time bomb and any updates they are testing causes them to spazz out. And for anyone who's gonna say blah blah its how updates go...... I'm just seeing what some other theories are and letting others voice their opinions.

I couldn't agree more. It's June 1st, and we still don't have an update.

Same still no update.. Anyone has an idea if we are getting an update in the coming days? For ***** sake my note 8 is already on the may patch and so is my brothers galaxy s8! Interesting theory though, maybe its true lol.
i have to say 2 months after an update that was pulled, and no new update is a pretty douchy thing on a just released top shelf phone,oh well history repeats itself, hopefully something soon for us
Couldn't agree more. Love T-Mobile's responses to questions.
"We know how important software updates are to customers. We want to make sure ur running the most up to date software." Big FAT Lie lol.

What features?
Most likely wifi calling.
Possibly VoLTE.
Any carrier specific apps.

Wi-Fi calling for T-Mobile works fine on the Unlocked S9+
Some of the carrier specific stuff downloads when the SIM registers to the T-Mobile network. But you can download the rest of the apps if you want them from the Play Store.
You don't have all the bloat unless you choose to install it.

Any downsides? Does SamsungPay still work? That's a big one for me.
Samsung Pay works fine. I have no downsides. Though I have never used a branded T-Mobile phone since I have been on T-Mobile, so maybe I don't know what I am missing, if anything.
There isn't that much difference. I personally wouldn't do it. There unlocked version hasn't gotten any updates either and is still sitting at Feb 1 security patches.

Well that's no help then.
I'm on At&T, and any unlocked phone always disabled the carrier wifi calling and volte.

Oh, I couldn't care less about WiFi calling but VoLTE is a must. I though that was a standard feature. Bummer...
So stupid. I contacted support and they said they had no timeline of any future updates. Canada got theirs today...
Seems that all the S8 line has been updated on tmobile with may if im not mistaken. What do you bet we get an update tomorrow for April lmao. But really this is really really strange.
My wife's s8 active got the may update tonight. This just seems back asswards that the newest is the last on the list.

Verizon S9+ Security Updates

Can anyone enlighten me as regards to why Verizon have not updated this device?
Wish I could. Sprint is still on the February security update. Samsung just released the May update.
Yup, been on February since I got the phone. I have a Verizon model S9+. My wife's Verizon Note 8 is already on the May security patch.

This is very typical for Verizon and Samsung. We will be lucky to get the may patch before August or September. If we get it all.
Would be nice if the next update was to 8.1 though! Or even P. Im content with the device for now. I am not overly concerned about the security pathc.
AT&T S9+ variant here....
Also still on February patch. My wife has the Note 8 on AT&T, on the May patch.
Sprint has, in the past, been pretty good with security patches, running about 30 - 40 days behind Google. But it seems all the carriers have dropped the ball on this phone. Wonder what the issue is.
I just came over from an S8+ on Xfinity that was patched twice in one month.. kinda surprised this one is behind considering it's the new flagship phone...
Thank all of you for your input!
They had an issue around April update which caused a bootloop. It's not Verizon, or the carriers that are holding this one up but Samsung making sure it works. I update from sammobile now anyways. I know it's not what you want to hear but I understand why they would want to hold it. We would be crushing Samsung and the carrier if they released an update that caused a bootloop.

Well, I have to eat my words. I just got the May Security Patch update on my Verizon S9+
Thats pretty good!
I just got the new security patch. Does anyone know what they add besides security?

February security patch rolling out

Got the February security patch this morning. Hair under 200 megs. Unlocked S10e, T-Mobile.
Does gesture navigation work on 3rd party laincher with feb security update?
Hopefully when AT&T pushes out the February update, the darn bugs will be fixed. I am sick of my keyboard just disappearing to the bottom of the screen at random times and the "in the pocket unlock bug" which appears on the lock screen because my phone somehow thinks it was in my pocket when it wasn't.
What's the name of the February update? BTA2?

Updates

Hi!
What do you think, how come they only update japanese market J9110?!
Japanese: 55.2.A.4.191, now they got 55.2.A.4.268A
Every other: 55.2.A.4.154
Why's that?!
I guess the Japanese version was released a month or two late.
Actually, there has been a new update 6 hours ago!
Probably these are the patches?
Just installed on mine SEA Region.
Updates only seem to be for dual sim users. Hopefully something comes along for single sim users.

Question Best Way to Update on MNVOs?

I've got an unlocked S23 Ultra, S918U1, currently running on Google Fi. Will probably be switching to US Mobile's Verizon plan soon tho. I'm wondering what my best options are for keeping the device updated. It's still on May but maybe too early to worry about the June update? But I can get a little impatient sometimes and I'm not sure how updates tend to go with MNVOs.
So I guess I'm wondering about: Smart Switch, changing CSC, and Odin. Any tips for keeping this device promptly updated?
Use Odin. Changing CSC shouldn't matter too much although it might cause problems if you don't wipe data. It's been a while since I've dealt with Samsung.
As far as getting ahold of the firmware in the first place I believe Frija is your best option, although I don't know whether Samsung makes their updates publicly available at the same time they push OTAs.

Thank you for the response. I will check out Frija, also the Sam Mobile app seems to list firmwares, but no June release for U1 yet. I guess I might end up just flashing firmwares with Odin. Thanks again!

Just make sure that you pay attention to which CSC file you use. The HOME_CSC.tar is for an update preserving user data. The CSC.tar will wipe data.

If you bought it as an unlocked phone...and it isn't network (carrier) branded...you'll get the updates more quickly anyway.
The U1 version usually gets the updates about two weeks after Korea does...and only one week after we in Europe do.
FYI....if you device is unbranded...it doesn't matter what carrier your SIM is. The updates are independent of the carrier.

Oh, thanks for the information, I do have an unbranded US U1 model, so maybe I'll be able to just wait for the updates to come OTA. That would be the easiest of course. And thanks for the info about the timeline, I see that the June updates for many models seem to be up on Sam Mobile as of today, so hopefully another week or two for me

Yep, and the U/U1 firmware is interchangeable, but if you don't want carrier bloat, go with U1

He is already on U1...so is already bloat free. He can't root it...so he may as well just wait for the update. My guess is....3 to 4 more days.
