Hey did anyone recieve the latest Google Play system update? And is it 3.3mb?? Also whats the timestamp on it?? I hope this update will undo my mistake of trying to manually install Google Play System from APK and overwrite it. Turns out it was only a small part of the update and I of course cant uninstall it.
I have ATT A526U1 variant btw.

I would like to ask a simple (but riddling) question. Why am i stuck at the 4.3 version of google play and does not update itself to the newer 4.4.21 version of its app? Do i something wrong?
sometimes it doesn't update automatically, you can update manually, just install like any other app

I have recently decided to root my S6 Edge with much success. anyhow now my Google Play Store now pops up Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped! I have tryed everything i can possibly think of and still no luck.
My question is do I really need it? I hardly use it. I always just download my APK files. Even if i needed to update id just download the APK.
Please let me know and if I should look into a way to factory reset.
Rooting by itself doesn't cause Google Play Store to FC. Did you make any changes like deleting system apps?

I had to factory reset after rooting.
just download the Google Play Store apk file and install, it's should fix your problem, unless some app or you changed something in your ROM causing the problem,
this my first thread, hope i can get some answer.
my phone is asus zen 2 laser wich is recently get marsmallow update, and you know even the android is the newest version but the system and user app such as gmail playstore and etc keepin' give an update like twice a month maybe, and im the one who always check the latest version of my apps on playstore, then if theres an update i will update to the latest version
what i want to ask is how to integrated the update app to rom?
you know if you update an user apps the update will replace the old one cause theres still on data/app
but if you update a system app the old one still on system/app or system/priv-app and the new one on data/app
wich is for me so wasting space, cause i have a pretty large freespace on system/
i usually use link2sd but on Marshmallow i think it useless, it says success like always but after i reboot the apps that i recently integrated with link2sd will gone, therefore the file still on system
i try to manually push the file into system, it just get the same result
anyone can help me?
I'm using a semi-stock rom that's been debloated and rooted and a bunch of extra junk....there was a new update released recently and my phone is wanting to update. What's the preferred way to stop the system from trying to update and get rid of the download and notification?

Remove the Update Center app.
It's located in /system/priv_app/Update_center(-release).apk
use any System Application Disable App from playstore, browse for software update , and disable it ..
i.e. if you don't wana remove / delete system component
I want to install a older version of Google Contacts as apk. Because there is a bug in later versions, i don't want to update the app automatically and also don't want to get a update notification, when I search manually for updates.
Do i need to edit the apk name or something else? Is there any advice for this?
@Lifear
If you clone an app, for example with 3rd-party Parallel Space app, the clone doesn't get automatically updated.
Oh. Nice to hear that. And this clone creates a new apk file to save it for install it later again?
