Is there any way to unbrick my hard bricked Motorola Edge 20 fusion?
I tried to flash stock rom via lmsa tool and it failed.
Whenever it is connected to pc / is charging, only response is the white led blinking light.
It is also not detected by pc too.
Edit : Changed the board under warranty and is working fine!!
I don't have a solution but... it's been 11 days now. Have you had any luck getting this device to work?
Asking 'cause I own one and plan to root it.
If you are able to power your device into the bootloader (usually to hold power button and a volume key when powering on), and you are able to scroll down to "unlock bootloader", that will then allow your device to be able to post into fastboot mode.
You will just need the fastboot drivers from google https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb installed on your pc, then you will be able to send fastboot commands to your device.
Your options at this stage would be to find the stock images for your device, or just download TWRP and Lineage.

This video below is for the Shield, but the process is all the same for android, minus how you power into the bootloader.
The shieldroot tools will not work for phones, but you can dl them and ammend the code to flash your OS.
This video will just teach how to unlock the bootloader, how to install the fastboot driver, and some TWRP knowledge if you are unfamiliar. Starting it at 1:08 would skip the shield stuff

Changed the phones board on warranty and is working fine now.
I just came to know that edge 20 lite and edge 20 fusion have different hardware. Mine's edge 20 fusion(Indian variant) and I accidently flashed lites rom which resulted in hardbricking the phone. I searched for edge 20 fusions rom and it is nowhere to be found. The Motorola's flashing software (lmsa) also downloaded the wrong rom for my phone as both the phones model number are same. So I recommend you to wait a bit longer if you have edge 20 fusion.

Thank you very much for your help but my phone is working fine now!!. I hope this post will help others.
As for my phone, It was totally a hard brick and the only solution to it was to change the phones board.
Whoa, thanks for the heads-up! There should be a separate forum thread for Edge 20 Fusion since it runs different hardware.
BDW, if you don't mind answering, how is the Motorola warranty and service in India? Did they charge you for the replacement? Was it a good experience?

The service is good. If the phone is under warranty, then there is nothing to worry. I've got my phone repaired completely free of cost.

i just recently purchased an edge 20 fusion (australian variant) and am currently in the 3 day waiting period for OEM unlocking to become available.
i'm still mostly a novice at all of this, however hopefully someone can confirm for me or correct me:
does unlocking the bootloader, and then rooting the phone (install magisk, etc.) not require a rom? do i only need a rom if i want to change from the factory stock (+updates) rom i currently have?
or do i need a rom in order to get magisk working properly, and pass safety net, etc. too?

hi i bought this tablet few weeks ago and i have in my hands for around a week , i'm having some serious issues to use it because the rom basically sucks (continous crash of almost every app, sometimes it reboots by himself etc.)
i wanted to ask if other people have it and if they're facing the same issues , and the most important thing :if there is a twrp and a custom rom to replace this abomination
sorry for my bad english
I received this tablet a week ago and it just restarted once. Not that bad.
I just have another issue: battery charging. Just 3 days ago, I found that the i8 max couldn't be fully charged! Charging stopped at 83% even I plugged in for whole night. I will try the soft-reset tonight and see what happened.
Anyone having similar problem?

Tried using Power + Vol- but the device kept rebooting. Then pressing Power + Vol+ gave me a boot menu. I selected wipe cache and reboot again ...... no luck. The battery meter stayed at 86% after 8 hours of charging
Seems we need a better rom.
Finally i succesfully unlocked bootloader , flashed a twrp (starting with a xiaomi redmi note 4 twrp i make the porting to make it works on voyo)
And flashed superSU too
But the experience on this tablet still sucks
The firmware from voyo website is not able to flash with sp tools , or twrp so is useless .
If somebody successfully port or create an alternative rom for this tab let us know

If you could share instructions and files for bootloader unlock and root to the forum, that would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Now it's easier
For unlock bootloader you need to download mediatek drivers on Windows and activate usb debug and oem unlock bootloader (or similar) in dev option , from then open a powershell and use adb like other phones
For twrp , google "voyo i8 max twrp" guide and download link are there (i think it s not allowed to post external link)
For root download superSU and flash from twrp
If you need other infos , ask
Sorry for my bad english , it's difficult to write a guide in another language

Hi. Thanks. My difficulty is actually to find the TWRP file for the i8 Max. Googling it leads you to the GetDroidTips website which gives you a link to the twrp file that is on a Russian forum page. However the download link on that Russian forum page is dead. I tried to contact the writer of the article on GetDroidTips website, but he's not responding. All I want really is a valid download link to the twrp file. Everything else I should be able to do fine from there...
Could someone post the TWRP file someplace...
Once I can load TWRP and root I'll make a backup of the bare firmware and make it available.

Hi,
Twrp for Voyo I8 Max
Can someone help please?
Hi all,
I follow Aditya Singh's article to port 3 twrp recoverys for Voyo i8 max.
Installing with SP Flash Tool, I can boot to each recovery of them.
You can choose one of them and I hope it works well on you pad.
* I'm not a pro. Thus, I may NOT provide help for your technical problems. I also NOT sure those recoverys won't damage your pad or data. If you have doubts about this, please do not download them.
Download link: (As a new guy, I can't post any link now. Open it by yourself)

Note:
1. The original twrp recoverys are prepared for Xiaomi Redmi Note4_MTK by cofface and geoanto555.
2. Aditya Singh's article is "How to Port TWRP for MediaTek 64 bit MT67XX Devices!!"

I have the i8 Plus framework file that Voyo has for an i8 reload image. I will try my hand at creating TWRP file and see how they differ. Really need to get my device rooted so I can get the CPU control optimised and to see just how much of the OS is faked by parms in the kernel.
Already had one Octa-Core pad that was actually a dual core hyped up. Lucky for me the guy was in the USA and filed for a refund on it. Only found out after I rooted it and reran tests to really see what was on the inside.
Even so, there are a lot of great reviews about my device. Perhaps I'll try my hand at porting Dirty Unicorn, Remix OS, or Android 8.x.
As is, I'll pay my review after I load the second SIM with my new number.
ADMINISTRATOR: Can we get our own forum group for our device?
Device: Voyo i8 Max
Device code: i8-max
Thanks
Hi bro,
Honestly, I don't figure out what you mean 'cause my English is poor. I guess you wanna find a method to root your i8 plus. I port a twrp for i8 plus with the same method I mentioned.
Again, I don't guarantee that this recovery will not damage your device. You MUST take risk by yourself.

The file on the Voyo site is for the i8-Plus. I have sent repeated emails to "VoyoJack" and have received no response. I have another email address for him and I will try that way. I have recently tried to review the files and found that the framework is the wrong one. I think Voyo made a mistake in posting it - but it is possible that the same framework loads on both devices. Voyo has yet to confirm this.
The actual .img file is a SP Tools recovery image with scatter. (If you don't know what that means, look up how the SP Tools program works).
hs4842 said:
The framework file, while a .img extension, is actually a zip file with all the ADB pulls of the software. Which makes me think they slapped together something to appease folk like us. But it does contain the boot loader and the scatter files needed to make a working TWRP.

Actually the file is a scatter retrieved file that is an entire copy of the i8 Plus framework - that is loaded on i8 Plus and Max (not sure if loaded on PRO). The USA versions of the i8 Max have additional security measures to keep folks from modifying them. Although bootloader unlock programs for other Voyo products seem to work on this device as well.
The device may very well have fake IMEI numbers. The IMEI number does not pass validation. While they will work on most networks, they are still invalid IMEI numbers. Additionally, the serial numbers of these devices are 0123456789ABCDEF - which means they are common hack loads of Android on the device. Even though the device has great performance, the drawbacks of having them work on LTE networks, and overheating of the communications chip are common problems. The overheating causes the device to cut back on communications. Which pretty much sucks if you are trying to play an onlilne game with multiple users.
I have the Voyo i8 Max with two different carriers loaded. AT&T and T-Mobile respectively. It works. It does what I want it to do. However, the fact this has IMEI issues, is darn near almost impossible to root, and has a support system that sucks (zero communications and support from Voyo) should turn away users that are less daring.

I have confirmed that these files do in fact work. However: A word of caution. I had problems getting my device to boot after installing TWRP. It should be noted that you will have to unlock your boot loader (the Voyo Boot Loader Unlock program for other devices worked for mine too. The Fastboot commands are simple enough to run by hand get the job done). This will wipe your device and reboot.
Since Voyo is a Chinese company, the USA has restrictions on what the device has to employ for security. That includes a trusted, locked bootloader. Once you unlock it your device will display a warning that your device is no longer trusted, and give you a (long) 5 second delay before booting. This will also cause a number of Google services to see your device as not being in compliance.
Translation: You won't be able to watch Netflix on your device....but seriously - Who would want to?? Just load Showbox.apk on it, and Blokada (blokada.org) to kill the ads. (with regards to Blokada - do not load the Mother Of All Ads filter. It will crash blokada)
You must:
1. Install Super User app on your SD Card **BEFORE** you install TWRP. This is the program that cleans up some of the mess the TWRP install leaves behind.
2. Install TWRP via SP Tools. Be sure to backup your recovery.img file before you start (via SP Tools - learn how to use this app before you mess with it)
3. Clear Cache and Delvic cache.
4. Reboot back into Recovery mode
5. Install Super User app. This will clean up the device so you don't get stuck while booting.
At this point you can load and configure your device. Problem is you will not be able to enjoy anything other than GSM speeds (3G) until you fix your IMEI numbers.
***YOU WILL NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING***
6. The IMEI numbers that ship with the Voyo i8 Max are invalid. Go online to site that has an IMEI Generator and generate a IMEI based on Samsung Galaxy LTE device of your choice. Record two of the numbers down (for SIM1 and SIM2). You'll need these in a moment.
Just be careful that the IMEI number you pick is not a duplicate of someone else's phone or you might get blocked.
7. Use the App Ghost Phone to set the new IMEI numbers. After you have set the numbers, shut your phone off for at least 10 minutes. This will let the network forget your device is 3G. After ten minutes turn your device on and if you have 4G LTE in your range, you will see the 4G icon and either another 4G icon, that means you only have 4G in your area for fastest speed, or 4G and LTE noted for LTE speeds.
After I done this I loaded Androoster and Root Booster to speed my device up even further. Bringing the look and feel of my phablet up to workstation level operations. Installed Viper for Android for added sound features and increase of volume (speaker is very weak on the tablet). Added VPN software, Anti-Virus, and Adaware for near ad free use. Although a lot of ads now are fed by the host server of the app and adware does not block those completely.
I have used my machine for almost two months now and really enjoy it. While the device does not have a GPS, Waze does a good job at ignoring this fact. Google Maps is useless on this device without a good Compass. There exists a kit project for a Bluetooth compass that is reported to work with this device.
Be careful of the type of Bluetooth headphones you choose. I have a mono-speaker Cobra trucker headset. It links well but nothing plays through it except phone calls. For generic mono with mic get a gaming bluetooth cheap headset. Or spend the money for Parrot Trucker headset. For Music, direct wire or find a good over-the-ear set that does Bluetooth very well. Found a $10 set on Wish that did the job so well I bought 2 (one for the Mrs.).
I'm still bugging Voyo for the I8 Max install firmware. The one they have is the i8 Plus SD dump. Doesn't work with our gear, but we can use it as a template for mods if necessary. Particularly with TWRP.
I hope this helps. Please click thanks and keep the good stuff rolling...
Need rom dump of I8 Max
Hello,
I'm new to the I8 Max and have had no joy with Voyo, who do not really seem interested in the foreign markets.
I am very interested in your post and I tried to flash the TWRP recovery but now my I8 Max will not work - it is bricked. I need a rom dump of the system from SP Flash Tool or WwR_MTK_2.40 so I can restore the entire firmware including bootloader. If anybody out there can help, it would be appreciated. MediaTek chips are very robust and as long as I can obtain the original firmware, I should be able to flash back to a working state using SP Flash tool. If someone has the correct firmware from the manufacturer, that would be a blessing. I appreciate any and all help offered.

Hi guys. I just boarded the Voyo i8 max ship so lets see what else we find out.
Mine does have GPS. Google maps locks a location with hardware gps only. I don't use google location services and never will (in any of my devices).
No compass still. That's fine with me and I knew beforehand.
I think voyo does have interest in the overseas market as the device has keyboard and manuals in some kind of English but is not interested in having real customer support (as spected from a cheap China device). No suprises for me there.
Screen is a little unresponsive to touch probably because of the plastic screen protector or because of the 'palm rejection' from the pressure pen compatibility. I won't take the screen protector until the pen arrives... if it ever arrives (bought from Geekbuying).
Scroll is sluggish due to kernel tweaks or something but you can 'fix' it.
Awesome solution to the choppy scrolling: SuperTouch app from the play store. I'm amazed this really worked and no root needed to boot! Honesty don't know how that shlt works but it does. Set it to 500 smooth level because I didn't pay for the full app but damn, I might do as well because the recommended smooth level for this device's specs is more than triple! But you need to pay a few bucks.
Audio suck balls. Mono and as loud as a wishper. It almost makes the job done. I will try to hack the butt out of this device in a couple of monts and try to install real speakers and getting stereo might be a challenge depending of how stupid voyo 'engieneers' were.
Cameras are a joke (as spected).
Screen is nice (probably half the reason we bought this device) but spect bleeeding and quirks. Mine has shadow eyeliner at the right edge.
Keyboard is not worth buying unless at a discount or you really, really need a screen cover. I know I do. Plus point being bluetooth, bad point having the worse back shortcut ever. Home is esc, back is that mac flowr thingy + tiny ass backspace and recent apps...kinda shortcut is alt+tab. Alt+F4 is impossible to do with this keyboard.
The experience of the typing. Its usable, better than touch typing the screen while sitting on the desktop, but way worse than using swype, swiftkey or google board gliding. Still a pain because its like typing in a remote control.
It attaches to the device pretty poorly. It preffers to attach to the front of the device.
Unlike the voyo i8 pro this one has google play working out of the box.
Wifi is poor at medium range and unusable at long range. 2.4ghz. Haven't testet 5ghz.
4G is unavailable to me as my carriers only use B2 and B4 which this tablet doesn't support (haven't put a SIM yet but will in a couple weeks).
The pen... buttons don't work according to everyone. I can't tell, mine was never shipped.
That's all so far. I have had this device for almost an hour.
I'm might be in wrong place but im Looking for any info on g8 power lite variant of g8 power. UK unlocked regards retail. Looking like It is a oddball as I cannot find anything. I don't think there will be much support but if anybody knows if this similar enough to any other variant ?? Android pie out the box no update. Not even Moto app to enable one button navbar. Any help thanks
Hello
I just got the LATAM version of that same phone, and i can tell you that it's gonna take some time to get information, but it will appear in some time.
Indeed, this is the right place, but it seems to be that similar models have variants around the globe, and the Moto G8 Power Lite it's not a priority right now.
I'm waiting the same for my version (XT2055-2), but it's just a matter of patience.
Keep looking on the forum and eventually it will appear some information

Yea I thought as much, motorola seems to be putting out lots of versions of every device. This is by far the worst device I have had in recent memory, seems be missing quite a bit of the usual options available on other recent moto devices. I would have a go at bits myself but it also seems my version of this device has a Chinese bootloader installed, I don't think I will still have this device by the time any work is done I need to change phones quite often for work. Good luck.

The chinese bootloader is something common on Motorola, even i have the same thing. But i guess they gonna come up with something. As per today, the Brazil version of this smartphone started getting Android 10 (with some bugs tho) so i guess Motorola gonna start moving things in the coming weeks

Go to Settings > About Phone > Model & hardware
and it will show you the Model, Serial number and Model(SKU) of the device. Ithing what you are after is the SKU.
Tip: Under the title "Model & Hardware" you should see "Model: moto g8 power lite" in a gray(er) font.
{This may vary between models and versions}
Hope this helps.

It's not possible to unlock the bootloader on the G8 power lite, only the G8/G8 power.

Does anyone know where I can find a decent guide to rooting the G8 Power Lite (if one exists - I know it's only been out a few months)? I've had a Google around and looked on this forum and on reddit but I can't find anything. I haven't done...
forum.xda-developers.com
This video sums it up well
Essentially you need to:
1. download MTKCLIENT from github, works best on Linux IMHO but Windows works too - on Windows you need additional USB drivers and MTK Drivers, which i attached. Use PIP to install the requirements by going into the MTKCLIENT directory and typing into CMD/Terminal: python3 pip install -r requirements.txt
2. Copy the G8 power Lite specific script to the root folder of the MTKCLIENT
3. Open up the phone, remove the plastic covering the cameras and motherboard. Unplug the battery. Short these two pins either by soldering them together or just using something metal - this is only necessary during the flash and then should be removed.
View attachment 5889467
4. Plug in usb cable to the phone but dont connect it to the pc yet. Start the program either by CD-ing to the MTKCLIENT directory and running it via CLI (on Linux: python3 mtk w proinfo, seccfg proinfo.bin,seccfg.bin, If it wont unlock using the custom G8 script, just run this generic command: python mtk da seccfg unlock) or doubleclicking the desbloq_bootloader.bat on Windows. Then short the two pins, keep them shorted and connect the USB cable to the PC. You should see a bunch of code scroling, it will automatically close/end.
5. Unplug USB, remove short circuit from two pins, plug in battery, turn on phone, you should see lines of text during the boot like this:

Bootloader unlocked. Now the only use is ROOT, no custom ROMs or Recoveries available as its vastly different from normal G8 power, which has a Snapdragon CPU and totally different screen. You'll also get a big "CARRIER INVALID" message on the home screen, so after you ROOT make sure to relock the bootloader using the same method but the command is python3 mtk da seccfg lock
I'm almost sure that what I got it's a - Moto g8 Power lite - XT2055-1
So I got the phone long ago and it's been mostly at home and used as a backup by some of my friends.. I can't even remember which person had it last time.
Thing is that I completely forgot about the Motorola protection and after factory reset it keeps on asking for the last used google account which I got no clue which one would be. To make things worst I have no way to find out the IMEI's so that I can use Motorola RSA.
It looks like to me that I can't enter BootRom mode and I can only access preloader mode even tho, I got access to recovery mode and meta mode. I have tried all the key combos I can imagine by now.
I have also tried sp flash tools but I'm getting an error when the process is starting.
I'll drop some more details soon.. thank you.

I did before as far as I recall but I gave up on it I think 'cus I ran into some issues as well.. I'm a bit rusty when it comes to this kind of stuff.. now that I'm reading all again about the tools etc I'm gonna give mtkclient a go and keep you all posted. Thank you again.
First off some questions please.. and I'm running win 11 pro.
What am I suppose to see on the screen when on Brom mode ? or how do I know that I'm on that mode.. obviously that if I'm not the operations just fail.
cant run mtk_gui atm for some reason trying to clear that out.. 'C:\Users\Q\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python311\Lib\site-packages\shiboken6\libshiboken does not exist'
Also tried bypass_utility_v1.4.2 using dif. key combos always returns 'device in preloader mode, trying to crash..'
mtkclient handshake returns failed 'Preloader - [LIB]: status: handshake failed, retrying..'
I'll keep on trying to understand all this just need my time.. all help appreciated.

for brom/preloader mode you will need to use the shorting method shown in the previously mentioned youtube video, not sure why you're trying mtk_gui and bypass_utility_v1.4.2 , what are you trying to achieve by using them?
Well reading from github where you get the mtkclient I thought that I could unlock the bootloader using the bypass_utility_v1.4.2 just like that.. guess ain't that easy and tbh after reading your previous words also thought that I could try using the mtkclient regardless being via the gui or the terminal.
I have seen some posts about the Brasilian fella and more shorting method but thought that by now wouldn't be needed anymore.. I did have my phone open before 'cause of that.. guess I'll have to have a look again.. my bad.
Thanks again.

you might be able to get into brom/preloader mode by holding volume down button while it is booting but shorting also brings the same result

I do care.. I also care the way some people talk to others behind screens.
Now if you read what I have just said on my previous post and the first post so to get what you/I'm dealing with you will realize that I was stuck on welcome screen, after soft reset, 'cus of FRP, once the last google account used was still active and I had no clue. Hey guys I’ve been here once or twice before but it’s been a while. I have some in the ass and I need your help please. I’ve been working at unlocking the boot loader on my Motorola Moto G power 2021 for two months now. The reasoning is for that I have no PC nor desktop rather one of my old android phones (Motorola Moto G7 Optimo) That I have had, Trying to figure out how to unlock my boot loader on my Motorola Moto G power 2021. I managed to unlock the boot loader finally but now I’m having issues with trying to install TWRP. My question is is that is there another custom room that I can install with two androids connected to USB – C double cable? I’ve been waiting for a long time to get my phone routed, please help and thanks
If you have one android rooted with magisk, there is an ADB/Fastboot Magisk module that might work for that, but I've never actually tried it. But I'm pretty sure one would have to be rooted. Another option might be to install linux on your phone. I have manjaro linux installed on mine but, again, it is limited without root because of selinux policy. With root, that can be disabled.
I also just noticed adb and fastboot can be installed in termux without root with
pkg install android-tools
You might try that.
If it workS, then YES, you can root without pc. Just 2 Android phones and a doubLe type c cable.

Don't install the TWRP we have now. Just boot it to use it with adb shell commands or a mouse. If you install it you'll get a bootloop, Dude says. I had to use it to extract my kernel for rooting.
Aaaannd the story thickens…. I ended up unlocking the boot loader with the two android phones and a USB – C type. However when I tried to flash Magisk, it flip my phone into a boot loop. Now, Me being the rookie that I am and trying to progress far too quickly, I Have relocked my boot loader and now I have a message which says no valid operating system can be found, will not boot.
Can someone please put me out of my misery and just go ahead and say that I am screwed?
Try to unlock your bootlloader againDamn I can't even type in here. Fgn xda is throwing up an ad over the typing area every time I make a cursor. Ok it finally stopped as I took a screenshot.
Now why on earth are you people trying to relock your bootloaders? I've rarely heard of such a thing and only to try to claim warranty, but I've been here for 2 days and already found 2 people with relocked (possible) bricks on this phone. And there aren't even many people here yet. What gives?
Don't worry yet. I think you're in better shape than the other guy.
If you still have your unlock email try to unlock it again with the same code. If you don't, or that doesn't work run get_unlock_data again and request another code.
BTW, I've never done this twice. So it might not work. If it doesn't, there is another option. Just come back and tell us how it went.
What carrier is your phone?

so yeah I tried it again but the boot loader is still locked however I think the partitions are messed up after I was trying to flash magic and it fell right into a boot loop. Somehow it has actually gotten better and not continuously boot looping I can stay in fast boot but it won’t burn into anything else or power off unless it runs out of battery. But I do have the same code but it’s not taking hit it because OEM unlocking on developer mode is still locked.

That used to happen to me a lot in the olden days when I used Windows and would manually type the code. I never know if they are Os or zeros. Now that I use linux I just copy/paste the code quick and easy. If you know that phone with that carrier can be unlocked, keep trying. In Android I know you can copy/paste from the terminal. I hear some carriers make you wait so long before unlocking too, although I've never had a phone with that problem. A good friend told me just the other day he had a Boost phone that they made him wait 6 months to unlock.
As far as plans, I got this phone by accident and dropped and broke the screen the 1st day I had it, before the case arrived. When the case arrived, it was a case for the G9 Power, which I thought this phone was when I ordered it. So, next month I will order the G9 Power since I already have a case and screen protector for it. My last phone was the G8 Stylus (sofiap) and this "Power" just doesn't have the same great battery life. I also had the G7 Power (ocean) and it had excellent battery life. I meant to get the G9 Power for the 6000 mAh battery, but with it's higher resolution screen it's probably no better than this Power. I think all "Power"s should have a 720P screen for the better battery life. or at least a switch to select the resolution you want like on my Galaxy S7.
This phone needs some ROMs though, so if I can find the time, I will do my best to give it a couple, if luck is on my side. Maybe a Resurrection Remix and a crDroid or Bliss. But really, it's whatever I can get to build, so maybe none. Lol.

I think there's still hope for you. I'm trying to figure out which stock firmware version your phone came with. If we can figure that out, I think you can flash and boot it even with a locked bootloader. What splash screen and boot animation does it have? Is it tracphone? I see a US Cellular version. When you boot to the bootloader what does the 1st white line say on the lower left? The BL line?
Also, I assume you got fastboot working phone to phone. I've tried 3 different adb/fastboot installations and can't get it to work (Magisk module, the one from termux pkg install android-tools, and one from github.). Can you tell me how you did it?

Yeah, I hear there is some trick to do it. Maybe in the new powershell (I've never tried it), but highlighting some text and right clicking to copy doesn't work in a command prompt, or it didn't 6 years ago. Did they add that functionality?

Moto devices can be finicky.
You should be able to flash stock firmware with fastboot, but on windows rsd lite or the newer lsma work more reliably.
On windows mfastboot sometime works when standard fastboot.exe doesn't.
Linux may work better.
USB debugging doesn't effect fastboot mode, it's an adb function.
Edit:for locked bootloader
Booting stock .img may work for some devices

Yes, but I was going to have him run
adb shell getprop | grep build.version.base
to figure out the software channel he needs. With the output I could find the exact build he is/was running on lolinet. That's hoping his bootloop is booting far enough for adb to enable though. adb shell wont work from stock recovery and adb shell from the quamp twrp we're using returns guamp device info. Wtf?

On Linux fastboot seems to be flawless. I'm surprised to hear that it has trouble on Windows. But I think he's running fastboot from another android., which is so cool. Opens a door for root with no pc.

My Moto G power of 2021 is the one that I unlocked the boot loader with the code off of the Motorola site and then I tried to mess with Magis and it ended up boot looping so I tried to lock it again thinking that would help somehow and that’s where I’m at on that one. On the Moto G7 optimo I haven’t gotten anywhere with that one yet however I did get I haven't gotten anywhere with that one yet however I did get the Unlock data and put it on Motorola site and it said it can’t be unlocked. Also sorry but I’m new to this so I don’t understand about the splash screen and boot animation so please let me know what I need to do to give you that information.
Now with the phone to phone android to android, are used the Google app BUGJAEGER 3.0-full (164). Are used the command: fastboot oem unlock <unlock code> . And it unlocked right away.

I just got a laptop and I’m going to attempt to use the command prompt and copy and paste to see if I can get the unlock code for my G7 optimo but on the Moto G power of 2021, I did have all of it unlocked but now since my dumbass locked the boot loader again I can’t get back on the initial platform and get developer tools. If I can get the OEM unlocking toggled back on I probably can unlock it reflash the firmware and boot my phone again
<EVERYONE>
Just to recap, my Motorola Moto G power 2021 is Bootloader locked after Magisk Installation failure. I have messed around with it and have it stuck in Fastboot Mode after it was stuck in bootloop. Some progress but the boot loader is locked again because of a error of mine and now it will not take my unlock code that I used before. Mind you, I did all of this between two android phones and an app called BUGAEGER That is available on Google play
What a crazy few days it's been.
This phone is really locked down hard by vodaphone.
I need to root it in order to install the full NetHunter suite. Some features are not available if the phone is not rooted. ie adding another wifi adapter that supports packet injection and monitor mode.
So my 1st move was Frija, and odin. This nearly bricked my device. Got it restored and went with the magisk route.
This is kind of where I'm stuck. fastboot. I did adb reboot-bootloader and it just sits on this green text that says...

Fastboot commands does not work. Obviously.
My 1st mission is to fastboot oem unlock.
So I've read a few devices has fastboot disabled by the providers. ie vodaphone, or even samsung?
I've tried my google foo but found nothing of value for these parameters. note 10 lite, android 12, vodaphone.
What should my next angle be?

Hello, I have successfully rooted a Samsung tablet without TWRP. After unlocking the bootloader, you need to use Frija to download the firmware file, and then you need to extract it. After that, you can send the AP partition file to your phone over adb, patch it in the Magisk app, and pull it back to your computer. From there you need to flash it in Odin, and do a factory reset from recovery mode. (When downloading the firmware file choose the correct model, software version, and CSC.) I can send a short video proof of the rooted tablet later when I get home from school)

We can close this thread. I've come to the conclusion that the Note 10 Lite is a terrible platform to try and root. Virtually zero roms out there. Bricked it 3 times already.
Going to sell it, and try and get my hands on something like an old netbook

I did actually try all of these methods and no go. At this point I have no idea. I've been rooting flashing phones for a good decade and literally nothing is successful. Tried different cords, different computers, different usb ports 2.0 3.0, usb port hubs, edl mode doesn't work, now I'm literally just trying to get back to pixel experience and sell it, but can't get that either. Managed to finally get a Qualcomm error, but I guess I don't know how or what to provide for any further input
Here ya go.

I'm done, ordered a new Samsung, and done with budget BS phones. If my obvious four day slip of a profane word bothers someone becoming a priest, consider the word didn't exist back when the Big J walked on the Earth anyhow.
I had one heck of a time trying to restore to stock as well. What worked for me was downloading stock firm file with MsmDownloadToolV4.0 and install the QDLoader HS Driver. I found this solution after trying and failing with ADB Sideload methods and fastboot... Attached the driver cause finding it was annoying for me.
I can upload the files I used if anyone wants to try it just lmk.
