Hello all.
I just received my A7 Lite 2021 Wifi + Cellular T225 tablet. I want to de-google (or no google) the tablet as much as possible and still be able to use it for web browsing, media (streaming and videos over HTPC) and hopefully cellular phone calls.
I have been reading this forum (A7 Lite) and I am unsure on what processes I need to do in order to get to a de-googled experience. I have read FRP, bootloader unlock, root, Knox etc. and I am so lost on what I need to do and what specific sequence to safely get rid of google without bricking (read that somewhere) my device.
Thank you.

I don't know how to de-google, but if you need to de-bloat I can show you how
Even if I can get a rom like lineageOS and still retain my phone calls and text messages I would be happy. I have unlocked my bootloader already but I am reading there is no way to install another rom without twrp recovery? So hoping something is doable that I haven’t found yet.
Stock Rom which is rooted and debloated is still good
Is root required for debloat? Right now my a7 is installed with t225n firmware although I am in the US. Right now, with my cellphone simcard inserted I get full lte data connection plus cellular calls and sms/mms. I want to retain these features and get rid of the google stuff and any other security and privacy issues (tracking stuff and analytics for example) and just use the tablet as a tablet with my mobile features. I don’t need root as long as I can still install whatever app I want and upgrade the OS if it is needed/available.

Hi,
First of all, could you please post a thread topic?
This way, members that might be able to help you become aware of the problem much faster.
Regarding your problem:
There is no file browser like in Android built-in.
It should not be necessary, because all installed applications are displayed in Programs.
Additionally, you need to be at least Interop-unlocked (if not even fully unlocked) for this Tethering-procedure to work.
Is your phone unlocked? If so, which unlock does it have?

thanks for yr speedy reply..
no my ph is not unlock as i ve just updated, also i m searching for a tutorial to do so, as i jumped straight from 7.0.7004 to 7.10.7720 i m not quite sure where to start or which to follow cause i m not used to win lingo yet
Incidentally i do not see "Programs" in my ph, is it there by default?
Appreciate yr help
Hi again,
Yes, the Programs are there by default
When you are viewing the main screen (just press the Home-button, the one with the Windows-flag, to get there).
Then flick the screen to the left (moving your finger from right to left) and you should see a list of installed programs (including "Settings", "Office", ...).
Regarding the unlock, there are several ways:
- the official one (obtaining a developer account for WP7 from Microsoft and registering your phone to it)
- the semi-official way (http://labs.chevronwp7.com/) which is a cooperation of Chevron and Microsoft
- the unofficial way (via flashing a pre-unlocked Rom, see below for details)
Both official options cost real money, so you might be tempted to go for the cheap (aka free) version, especially if you are not a developer.
To do this, you will have to flash a custom Rom on your phone, which is already unlocked.
The additional advantage of this method is that you can chose a custom Rom that has Internet Sharing activated by default (via the application that was introduced to some handsets via Mango).
HOWEVER, you will lose your warranty and (at the moment) all the data on the phone.
Flashing will format the phone, which will delete all savegames, SMS, eMails, ... you name it
This should not be a major aspect if you just got your phone.
Everything that has been synchronized to the Microsoft cloud or some other storage can be restored later.
BUT at the moment there is no way to backup your SMS, savegames and settings.
(You can do a full backup for the sake of returning to an official rom, which will include ALL the data - i.e. SMS, settings, ... - however, this backup can only be restored by 100%, therefore you will lose all the data you stored on the phone AFTER doing the backup).
That's that
If you should like to flash a custom Rom, just head over to the Rom Development-segment of the Mozart-Forum and choose a custom Rom.
But beware, depending on your SPL you might have to go through some hoops to flash it or it might even be impossible...
Also, the Rom development-forum provides several threads regarding all the details of flashing a Rom, which SPLs are ok and which to avoid.
So I guess you should be fine if you take some time to read into the matter
Good Luck.
Thks FrozenLord
Ive just restored 7.0.7008 fr 7.10.7720 cos the battery is atrocious it was fully charged n i sent a few emails, sms and 3 ph calls then i went to bed, the battery was flat in 11hrs, when it was on 7004 it lasted 2days
I had a look at the dev section and i kinda like deepshinning rom which i ve to figure out how to flash it. Tho the ph is only 6mths old now i m not bothered abt the warranty the only thing is that do i ve to go back to 7004 to be able to flash the rom?
current: os 7.0.7008.0
fw 2250.09.12902.728
rd 5.69.09.05a.22.50.50.21u
bootloader 5.0.2250.1(130781)
A pointer or a link to flash the ds rom will be much appreciated
thanks again
Hi friends,
Hopefully this will be newbie appropriate questions that are easy to answer:
1. I just bought a used ATT Lg G5 H820 (Titan I think) where the seller gave me an unlock code - I've never bought a used phone before, but it's for my son, and I don't know how to execute unlocking and what not, but I figure Google is my friend there.
2. I want to downgrade android from 7 N to 6 Marshmellow - I've been reading that there are a couple of Flash tools that can do that if I have the image - I've searched high and low and moved heaven and earth to find one that I think is bona fide without making me go through a sea of click ad traps, to no avail - my assumption is all I need are the tools and just the stock image.
So here are my questions:
A. Can anyone share a link to the image that I seek where downloading it doesn't require a ninja to do the download?
B. Do I have to use an ATT image? can I use a Tmobile H830? bad idea?
C. If I flash it down to Marshmellow with either of the images as mentioned in (B) are there negative ramifications to unlocking the phone?
Thank you in advance - I sincerely appreciate any and all advice on the matter.

1. To unlock the phone from a stock rom power off the phone and insert a sim card for another network and power it up. Phone will ask for the unlock code when it finishes booting. Since it's an ATT variant use a t mobile sim card. I'd make sure you can unlock it before you do anything else.
2. Why do you want to downgrade to marshmallow? Doesn't seem like its worth the effort. Besides you are going to have to then turn off updates or your going to get updated to nougat. If you decide to downgrade you have to downgrade to an ATT image. Using a T mobile image will most likely brick your phone. Not sure if it will be a soft or hard brick but it's not worth it.

Good idea on #1 - I wondered about that, but wasn't sure if that mattered - I did do a complete reset as soon as I got the phone, and haven't unlocked still, so I'm hoping that I didn't ruin the 'unlockability' by resetting it.
Anyway on your #2, I did a phone upgrade recently from G5 to G6, and was on Marshmellow with the G5 - there were aspects that I'm familiar with that Android version, so I want to try to downgrade - I've never experimented with the phones that I pay service on because I've always been afraid of bricking it bad, so I figure that with my sons used phone, I can tinker a bit without losing too much sleep if I mess things up.
Thank you for that great response - I sincerely appreciate it!

Hi there,
Might I ask if you have any ideas on how I can proceed to downgrade to Marshmellow? - I want to try rooting Marshmellow if I can.
This is a bit off topic, but when I was exploring this site, I found this subdomain https://depot.xda-developers.com - and I'm very interested in purchasing one of those lifetime VPN services, but wanted to get more info from the community about the VPN options, as there seemed to be many pretty low cost VPN products to choose from.
And off the top of your head, do you know of a Simcard that I can purchase with no contracts where the minutes do not expire at the end of the month, that you personally like? - it seems like there are so many GSM options for this unlocked used phone. tia
This is the official FunkyHuawei support thread.
FunkyHuawei is a (mostly) paid service which allows you to do the following:
1. Install the latest system software, even before it's released by OTA.
2. Install beta/prerelease system software, without needing to be a beta tester.
3. Recover a bricked phone.
4. Rebranding / Change the region of your phone (China -> Europe, for example, to get Google and so on.)
5. Root your EMUI 8 phone, even with stock recovery (This feature is free)
Except for rooting, all of these features are supported even if you cannot unlock your phone's bootloader.
To find FunkyHuawei, please Google it. Or you can find a link to the service within the following XDA Portal article.
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-oreo-emui-6-huawei-mate-9/
We are pleased to announce FHUnbrickFlashTool -- You can now repair any recent Huawei phone via fastboot, even if you cannot access eRecovery or boot the phone! Even if it doesn't show the Huawei logo, as long as you can get a fastboot connection to your computer, you can recover the phone! Google FHUnbrickFlashTool or check FunkyHuawei's reddit for details.
In cooperation with XDA, FunkyHuawei is offering a free credit to Recognized Developers and Recognized Contributers on XDA.
Please PM me for more details.
We will continue posting in this thread with updates regarding new software versions and releases regarding this device.
We will also be monitoring it so we can help anyone who has issues.
For device-specific information, please see the next post.
P10 Device-Specific Information
The P10 now has a relatively mature community with many methods to do many things.
However, there are still some things only possible with FunkyHuawei, so it would be most useful for:
1. Installing updates on bootloader-locked devices, even if the update is not approved by Huawei for your device.
2. Rebranding bootloader-locked devices, or rebranding to obscure carrier brandings.
3. Restoring bricked devices.
Note that even though the Mate 10 Root tool is designed for the Mate 10, it works perfectly on the P10 running Android O betas.
This tool is FREE, and might be easier than installing TWRP and rooting that way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does FunkyHuawei cost?
A: You need to buy credits on the FunkyHuawei website. The price per credit varies depending on the number of credits you buy. Different operations cost different amounts of credits. However, the Root feature of the Mate 10 tool is free, and as mentioned above, Recognized Developers/Contributors of XDA can ask for a free credit.
Q: My phone is bootloader locked, and FRP locked. My bootloader unlock code dosen't work. It won't boot. eRecovery doesn't work. Can you help?
A: Yes. With the Mate 10 this is now a common situation. Contact FunkyHuawei for help in this situation. We'll need to access your computer remotely and the procedure is a little bit complicated, but the phone can be unbricked.
Q: I can't get my bootloader unlock code/don't want to unlock my bootloader, but I want to change my phone to something other than Chinese. Can you help?
A: Yes. Our new FunkyHuawei Rebrand Tool works on ALL recent Huawei phones, to rebrand them to another region even when the bootloader is locked.
Q: I'm not seeing the latest version listed on FunkyHuawei or elsewhere as an OTA. Why not?
A: Huawei has a very odd and unpredictable way of rolling out OTA updates. You can use FunkyHuawei to install the new version immediately, or can wait for the update to be rolled out. It might be a month or more after release until the update reaches your device from Huawei directly. We have no idea why.
Q: Why isn't FunkyHuawei free?
A: Because many of FunkyHuawei's features cost FunkyHuawei money to provide. Features that don't cost FunkyHuawei money to provide, like rooting the Mate 10 or our TWRP build for Mate 9/Oreo, for example, are generally made available for free. There are also bills to pay, kids to put through school, and so on.
Q: I noticed FunkyHuawei in an XDA Portal article!
A: FunkyHuawei loves XDA, and is cooperating with them as much as possible. Recognized Developers and Contributors on the XDA forums are welcome to claim a free credit from FunkyHuawei as well.
Q: I have a different question.
A: This is what this thread is for! Post away!

Luckilly the P10 community here is mature enough that there is no longer a need for Funky's services. However effective Funky may be, we can save ourselves the 30bucks and do it ourselves

We have added a brand new Android O build for the Chinese P10.
You will need to rebrand your phone to VTR-AL00 (all/cn) to install it.
Best to use HiSuite to install it -- check out Mate 10 rebranding information to find the correct version of HiSuite and instructions.
We now have Android O for International P10 and P10 Plus.
Check FunkyHuawei reddit for install instructions, or google for "Android O Builds for International P10 and P10 Plus now available! Instructions inside"
This is great news!!
If I only got some $:crying: but nice news

Hey all, I'm having a problems to which i've been pulling my hair out and not sure what to do. Essentially, I had my phone rooted, although later decided I wanted to unroot. To unroot I used an app called "simply unroot" however it did not fully unroot my device, just made it worse, my phone does not pass the safety net, however "root checker apps" suggest my phone is not rooted, although some apps recognise my phone as being rooted. My phone bootloader is unlocked, but the OEM toggle in the developer options is not set as enabled, and is NOW greyed out so i cant click it, meaning i do not have access to any fastboot commands and thus cannot flash a recovery.img. Although, believe after having trying to unroot it had automatically disable OEM. I have tried to lock the bootloader in the hopes that OEM toggle would no longer be greyed out, but cannot do this as i dont have access to fastboot commands. Even with TWRP i cannot flash anything just promps me with Error 9. I have tried storing the UPDATE.app within the dload folder, but that doesnt work either. I have no idea how i can recover this device. Fell like i've tried everything. Please help.

Why you pose this question in the "official funkyhuawei support" thread is beyond me....
Only thing that comes to mind is: do you have USB debugging enabled in the developers options? It should be enabled if you want to use ADB or Fastboot.

Hello all,
As a frequent user to the XDA Forums but a first-time poster, please allow me, from the onset, to express my gratitude for the litany of assistance this forum has offered. The resources here and pure talent have proven invaluable; from assisting me in actually taking a Nokia Windows Phone and installing Android, bypassing Google's FRP on an LG Tablet to mirroring a broken display and thus saving my S5 Neo. Please accept my humble thanks and heartfelt gratitude. Perhaps one day, I will be able to offer something back to this amazing community. Kindly bear with me as I need to ask you all for some expertise and guidance one again — I have some specific questions — as a segue into the first inquiry, pardon me if this is the wrong subforum.
Question the first. And you have my permission to all point and laugh at me for asking this one: Is this subforum dedicated to a device with a specific label of LG G Pad X 8.0 or is X expressive of a variable employing categorization of many devices? I know how to research, but I still can't find a direct answer or mere suggestion; deduction implies the latter. Specifically, I am enquiring about the LG G Pad III 8.0 FHD (the LG-V522). I do hope X was a prelude to "insert Roman numeral here" or now I just sound like a verbose moron with too much time on his hands.
Background & Specifics:
- Google FRP was bypassed and a clean, stock installation of Andriod 7.0 Nougat was employed.
- While this tablet was originally sold with Marshmellow 6.0.1, support for OTA updates extended to upgrading to Nougat which became accessible upon the successful factory reset after bypassing Google's FRP.
- This tablet is not rooted.
- According to LG and LG's Developer Blog, the V522 bootloader is not unlockable.
- This tablet does employ a SIM card slot and I've been using an active cellphone SIM (and of course, WiFi where available), but apparently the tablet is only utilizing the data component of the Rogers Share Everything plan and when I dial my own number from a third-party phone, it goes straight to voicemail. Yet sending texts to my number will pop up as a notification just like any other smartphone.
- Tablet is "Canadian" and SIM-locked to the Rogers / Fido network.
Tablet Details:
- Android Version is 7.0 Nougat employing a security patch level dated December 1, 2016. Baseband version is MPSS.TA.1.0.c3.3-00015-8952_GEN_PACK-1.79167.2 and it's running a kernel v3.10.84-g22068de [email protected]@ ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 19 14:48:23 KST 2016. Its build number is NRD90U and it runs a software version V52220a. Firmware version is 7.0.
- Factory Version is specified as LGV522AT-01-V20a-302-720-DEC-19-2016-ARB00 with SW Original Version being specified as LGV522AT-00-V20a-RGS-CA-DEC-19-2016-ARB00.
- Apparently, this product is also categorized as "b3_rgs_ca". I have seen this label, almost to the point of a recurring motif, through my research, as simply referred to "B3".
- The LG "hidden menu" is accessible by dialling *#546368#*522# via the Google Hangouts "Contacts" app.
- "Download Mode" is accessible through ADB commands and respective key-combinations and I have been able to reload or "flash" V52220a more than I'd care to admit.
Questions:
- Since the bootloader is apparently "unlockable" by official standards, does this explain why even through ADB I cannot get the tablet to boot into the bootloader partition? I'm familiar with ADB, Fastboot and the Command Prompt and all respective drivers on my Windows 10 desktop are the most current and configured correctly and the step of enabling USB debugging, OEM unlock, et al has already been covered (unless you've got a completely random idea of some random setting I may have overlooked). Invoking the command "adb reboot recovery" triggers an entry into the stock recovery mode, but selecting from the menu "reboot into bootloader" merely restarts the device; as does invoking "adb reboot bootloader" from the command prompt.
- If "download mode" is supposed to be synonymous with fastboot or bootloader mode, why does the tablet not acknowledge any fastboot commands?
- Can or would anyone be kind enough to explain why there is such a diverse categorization of this tablet and what the specific nuances imply (i.e. model B3 vs. LG-V522 vs. LG G Pad X)? What is the meaning of V20a contained within the descriptors/identifier of SW Original or Factory version?
- Is it possible through an entirely unofficial method to root the tablet without unlocking the bootloader (some users have reported yes, but never when utilizing the "Canadian" version)?
- Employing "dirtycow" is no longer an option as the security patch installed precludes this possibility (unless there have been updates to the process of using a muddy heifer that I haven't found yet).
- If rooting is not possible at the moment (even through unofficial methods), is it still possible to establish and employ an "emulator" on the Stock OS to "trick" the tablet into thinking it has a built-in cellular modem? I've found several references that suggest this tablet does have a cellular modem because of the SIM card, but when I try and look at the tablet's hardware on the actual device, telephony information is lacking.
Trying to unlock or hack the bootloader or even just rooting this tablet seems more like a beautiful woman slapping you for simply asking if it'd be okay to buy her a drink — yes, you want her to give you full root access — but hey, you're being a gentleman and trying to wine and dine her first (I know I'm a nerd and it has been awhile, but I digress).

FRP reset on the LG-V522
Hi Carvio,
I haven't been able to perform an FRP reset on my LG Gpad3 LG-V522. I didn't want to use the device on the cellular network just as a tablet at home.
I ended up buying the Octoplus FRP reset dongle but it turns out to not have the correct model in the setup.
How did you manage to bypass the FRP rest or rest it on this tablet?
I think Chimera may have a tool to do the reset but that means another $100 to unlock the tablet...
Thanks in advance,
REDRONAN.

Hi Carvio,
I haven't been able to perform an FRP reset on my LG Gpad3 LG-V522.
Thanks in advance,
REDRONAN.

i tried to frp myself and i got it in qualcomm 9008 mode. can you make a backup of your device?
Long Story Short, I acquired a Wiko Ride that was used as a free phone from the government. I already had a sim card I wanted to use for it but the UICC cannot be unlocked. So I decided I might as well fully reset the phone and load a new custom os so I wouldn't have to deal with the integrated os built for the assurance wireless plan. The problem is that I have no clue what I'm doing because the phone I'm using has little to no information and I know nothing about Android software so I'm looking for help. I was able to get adb and fastboot working so I should be able to do a bootloader but I can't find a twrp that works with the model of phone I'm using, that's more or less where my personal research ends and I haven't looked at anything after this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated since I want to see this done.
