3 month old Samsung A525G on TMO network (recently updated to android 12 One UI 4.0 but was doing the same prior to update).
Using Gboard, but also happens using Samsung keyboard.
I am having this issue constant little pops ups at the bottom of the screen that say "Item already copied to clipboard" if i copy something, sometimes even if i haven't it seems..but it also appears if i long press in a text field to PASTE something already on the clipboard, and then if i hit paste , it will pop up again' Item already copied to clipboard(even though i just PASTED and item)
I also don't need reminded ever single time i copy something " Copied to clipboard".
Ive done searching and some users seem to think it is related to KDE connect, and uninstalling it resolves the issue( but in the s20/21 series) but i do not have KDE connect installed that i can find.
I do a lot of copy paste and this is really annoying, is there any way to turn off these "reminders"?( i don't think there is) but is there any way to resolve this?
having the same issue on an s10+ andro12 but with swiftkey, also I do not have acces to the clipboard ... a way of samsung to oblige us to use their keyboard ???
The work-around with swiftkey seem to be their own clipboard (on top of the keyboard) which is less comfortable than the way we were all used to do it ...
I am using GBoard on A12 with no problems with clipboard
I don't have that problem but i hate when i have something in clipboard and if i take a screenshot in the meantime clipboard is cleared.

Hi all - after searching the forum I found several similar problems, but not this one specifically, so here it is.
In the SMS view I try to reply to somebody. If it's a new message, everything works just fine. But, if that's like the 20th text (as shown in the sms list in the form of a dialogue list above the writing box) here's what happens: after a few seconds (or after software finishes counting previous texts) the writing box freezes up. I can still write, I can still see the suggestions, but nothing changes in the writing box. I can close the keyboard and then see what I wrote, then open it again and continue writing. In addition to that, I've noticed that the 'hide keyboard' button works in a strange way. When the keyboard is visible, the button is highlighted. I tap it, it is not highlighted anymore, but the keyboard stays visible. If I tap it again nothing really happens, as the keyboard is still visible, but the writing box refreshes and I can see what I wrote. I noticed this only happens when my phone, after a few seconds, highlights the message I'm replying to. I don't really need the friggin message to be highlighted for me, so do you perhaps know a way to disable this function? Should I use some kind of alternative keyboard, install new software? This glitch is not mentioned in any SMS firmware update from HTC. My sys: OS ver 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82), Manila 2.5.19211619.0

I think your have a normal HD2, ive head about on here already, but its a htc "feature" so you can re read the message...the problem is the stock txt system, you start typing a new messge as your phone is still counting, then when it gets to the last it then pops up..there is a thead on here that someone has modifed, I cant find it at the min, but its there somewhere, most custom roms have it on already.Hope this helps bud.

Ive just upgraded from to the Galaxy s2 (from an HTC desire) and first impressions are that i love it. I have a few q's that i hope some people can help me with:
1. On my home screen, i cant change/move the very bottom line of apps (phone/contacts/messaging/applications). Is there anyway to switch these out with something else (a different app)?
2. HTC has friend stream which is a full page widget showing all your facebook/twitter updates. The s2 has social hub, but is there anyway to show this in a full page widget?
3. Is it possible to assign an option to long press the (soft) back button? The menu button already brings up google search, and quite simply i want long press back to bring up voice search
4. The interal storage (12gb or something like that) current shows as USB storage, which prevents me from moving apps across to it. Any way to rectify this?
5. I have already rooted my phone. Will i still be able to take OTA updates without any problem? (something you couldnt do on a rooted HTC)
6. Any way to stop the default internet browser from opening websites in mobile view? Ive seen a workaround which only lasts the session, but just wondering if theres a permanent one (dont want to use opera as it doesnt have flash working/working well yet).

I'll try my best, here goes..
1. Open the app drawer by pressing the home icon on the dock-->press menu then edit. Now you can drag any icon you wish to the dock then hit menu again and save.
2. I don't think there is a social hub widget (at least I don't) but you can download a third party app/widget that will be similar to friends stream.
4. The internal storage is always under "usb storage" in settings/storage. What are you trying to move?
5. Yes, as long as you don't change your firmware.

thanks for your help Im just trying to move some apps which ive downloaded across to the sd storage but it keeps telling me im out of memory. Im guessing this is because i havent yet added my own microsd, but thats on the agenda for tomorrow
Your welcome. You got it, once you install an external sd you will be able to move files to and from the internal storage.
I'm using Opera, and the flash seems to work fine for me so far, might be worth trying it (especially since it's free).

sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone else notice that when you put apps into a newly created folder (for example I have one called favourite apps) and the icons within that folder have moved around....you know how you by habit press a couple of buttons and bam your in xda well because these moved around I launched dilbert! not that this is critical but just wondered if anyone else notices this behaviour?
Hi I am having a few issues with the 10.1 galaxy and wondered if anyone can help. When I click and hold on txt to highlight it so I can copy and paste to another section most of the time it doesn't work and will still have the last copied txt whatever that was saved. After a few times of trying eventually it will say copied to clipboard but is well annoying how do I get it to work properly.
Problem 2, emails I receive often have URL addresses of stuff to check out, in the email I am unable to highlight the txt at all so can't copy and paste it see what I'm looking at, any one had similar problems, any solution?
Yup. I had copy-paste-select issues all the time.
In the custom roms though I dont remember having any issues (though I switch roms for 2 days now I might not have enough experience).
I think its some lame stock roms programming by samsung. What rom are you on?

Do these things come preloaded with a lot of Samsung software they most people wipe. I find mine crashes a bit and whilst watching video via the add on cable through my 42tv its regular as clockwork will stutter, is that poss related to some ****ty software on here?

So I was all rooted. I had Go Launcher, Market, and Swiftkey all working awesomely. My NT life was good. Then Swiftkey started throwing up errors. So I went to Any Cut to find a shortcut to Swiftkey's settings. There was like 8 settings under activities but not a specific Swiftkey settings. So I created shortcuts to the 8 settings and thought I would try them all and maybe one was for swiftkey.
When I clicked on the second settings shortcut the NT through up an error that stated there was an authorization error and the tablet would reset. When the tablet restarted it forced a wipe to factory settings. I thought...that sucks...but whatever I'll start over.
When the tablet had finished and restarted It started to go through the setup screens as one might expect. However, Swiftkey is apparently still selected as the keyboard and the NT keeps giving the Swiftkey force close errors. I can't enter in my registration info because I haven't an effin' keyboard. I didn't have usb debugging turned on so I don't think I can use adb to remove swiftkey. Although, I've never really used ADB unless I'm rooting and following very specific instructions from one of these forums.
Is there a way to bypass the initial registration and sign in crud so I can install root explorer and remove Swiftkey?
Sorry for the long story. Hopefully someone will have a suggestion on how to fix this.

tldr- NT hard reset and now stuck without keyboard because Swiftkey was still selected and Swift key won't work during initial registration....argh!

I did test this method when i got t the last prompt to skip Oobe(out of the box experience) I did get a force close error. However I just reopened the menu by hitting the volume up and the lower right portion of the screen. The Oobe button came back up and i clicked it with success, bypassing the registration.
Well I was able to bypass the Nook Experience BS...Thanks for the tip! But I still didn't have a keyboard to download any apps from the browser. So I created an epub file with Callibre that contained web addresses of all the software I needed to get rid of Swiftkey from system/app. I then transfered the epub to the nook...opened it with Nook's reader....selected a web address....and did a google lookup from within the reader. I was able to download and install what I needed, and it worked. All Better.

I think what you did is really smart( never mind the semi brick part) and important. This could help out a lot of people that lose keyboard access or other issues that occur. Using the nook reader with google search was a great way around your problem.
SwiftKey force closes on me randomly and will not stop until I re-run the apk inside /System/App again but after that it works fine for awhile. I wonder if it's just SwiftKey because I haven't tried any other keyboards yet
I've noticed several keyboards don't stick after a reboot. Thickbuttons and Hackers seems to be the only 2 I've tried that do stick.

The scary part was that the NT forced a random wipe on it's own after a quick error about "authorization."
Sorry didn't know about the authentification error and I was joking about the semi brick part. I just thought your recovery method could help somebody out of semi brick hell.

This is my first time specifically posting a question as a Q&A style thread so I hope I'm doing this right.
I have been using the Redmi Note 2 for about a month now. Overall, it's been a great phone (especially considering the price). However, I've been experiencing a couple of issues and I am hoping that some of you may be able to help.
I have rooted the phone but have not installed a ROM/kernel.
I have been using Wakelock Detector to track my battery life. Of most significance is com.baidu.map.location (NetworkLocation). I have attached the two screenshots showing the frequency of how often it wakes up my device. I tried to greenify it but it wouldn't allow me - it says "Sorry, "NetworkLocation" is ingreenifiable". Does anyone have any idea for me?
I have also been trying to use Amplify as another means to try and improve battery life. As mentioned, my phone is rooted, and the app prompted me to install the Xposed app which I did. However, after installing the app, it wants me to install the framework but it does not allow me to. I have attached the screenshot of this too.
Nova Launcher - Sometimes when I open the app drawer, the resolution of the app launcher appears funny. To fix it, I normally just press back and go back into the app drawer and it goes back to normal. I have attached a screenshot of what this roughly looks like. This is not a big deal but can be a little annoying. Has anyone experienced this?
SD Maid - I used to use this app on my old Galaxy S3 i9305 to clear out storage space taken up by unnecessary stuff. This app no longer works on this phone. I have attached a screenshot of the issue that I am having.
I have downloaded Auto Call Recorder from the app store with the intention of having it automatically record my phone conversations. It does not work but I am unable to figure out why. I have checked the settings and I cannot identify any obvious setting that is incorrectly configured.
Flynx - I have been trying to use Flynx as it appears to be an incredibly useful app, but it seems something is not working correctly. In the screenshot that I have attached, where it says "Tap on the bubble to open it!" I am assuming there is a bubble that is supposed to appear for me to tap, but it does not appear.
APUS Launcher/Clean Master - finally and maybe most worryingly, I sometimes get 2 or 3 apps "pushed" to my device prompting me to install it. I can only remember 2 at the moment; APUS Launcher and Clean Master. Fortunately, I am asked to give the app permission for installation but it worries me because it has occurred a few times and I did not download it at all. I do not have a screenshot of this at the moment, but I will do it next time it occurs.
I have been told that my provider (Vaya in Australia) sends out a SMS for "automatic update" purposes. I only spotted this because I have noticed that I was charged for 2 separate international SMS on 2 occasions when I did not send them (to a UK number, +44 7786209730). I am not sure whether this one is a phone problem or something else.
I appreciate any of your assistance in advance and I am sorry if I have not provided enough information. I am also not sure as to which issues may simply be app problems as opposed to a problem with MIUI software or Xiaomi.

Does the crash happen when the dialog opens, or when you click the orange entry?
Try giving your sdcard a name, possibly doing it from a desktop computer.
Hi, the crash happens when I click on "Overview" then click on "To start press [refresh icon]" and then you just press there - what normally happens is it will give a overall summary of the phone.
However, I have just tried it again. When that error message comes up, instead of tapping on the listed entry (as is instructed), I press "Done" and it is able to give me a summary!
So for some reason it appears as though it doesn't work (at least from the error message), and I just press done and it still works.

If you just press "done", SD Maid won't have access to your external sdcard.
Did you try installing the Xiaomi EU rom, since it's supposed to be cleaned from chinese apps (Like the baidu one).

Sorry it seems like I never came back to expand what I have done to try and fix these problems.
I ended up changing to Hermes ROM here http://www.smiui.net/redminote2_hermes.php
Most of the issues above are now solved, but there are some that are still present such as #2 and #5. So Amplify still doesn't work, but I think this is a hardware limitation and Auto Call Recorder still doesn't work. As for why Auto Call Recorder doesn't work, I don't know why, but I am not greatly bothered by it so I have not attempted to do anything to resolve that problem.
