Gsi use whatever boot image is relevant to your stock rom.
So if you're on 11.0.2.BE88CF before you install the gsi, then that's the boot you'll use for magisk.

Find a custom rom for your device. Root device first and flash custom recovery and flash custom rom from the recovery. Just google here or somewhere for the dedicated flashing process for your device.

You aren't rooting your device. You're just installing a custom recovery and a custom rom.

No rooting. If you want you may sacrifice Widevine L1 DRM and just flash persist partition and your sensors are fixed

Installing a rom without recovery

Hi everyone, I want install a new custom ROM (I'm on CrDroid 7.6 on Android 11) but I can't boot into recovery. I tried to flash a new recovery but i get this message from fastboot "(remote: '(recovery_b) No such partition')".
I've always installed custom OS using a custom recovery but it seems that that there is no recovery partition on Android 11 ?
Do I have to flash the boot partition with the custom rom .zip directly ?

You need to:
1. root
2. flash custom recovery
3. flash rom
To flash the recovery you use "fastboot flash boot recovery.img" ?
Do I need to flash both partition ?

This phone have a/b partion system. The recovery partition is present or phone will not boot. Install a rom via fastboot is possible but it's not safe. In every custom rom thread you can find los recovery and how to install procedure. Read with accuracy. Open the section kernel and custom rom. I suggest you pixel experience
Thank you ! The PixelExperience thread got a nice procedure on how to flash it.
I'll try to flash this ROM tomorrow to test it.
If this is successful I'll try other ROM without Gapp included and with official release, any suggestion ?

Yeah nezuko and corvus seems pretty good, I would rather use a popular ROM like lineage but those ROM looks very promising
Corvus is fantastic... With some optimization made with root... In my opinion is the best at now. For performance, stability and systemUI

Question Patch boot.img (Magisk)

Hi guys.
I'm on MIUI Global 12.5.1.0 RKIEUOR. Already unlocked the device and would like to root with Magisk, so I'm looking for boot.img to patch it with Magisk app, but the only rom version I can find to extract boot.img for 12.5.1.0 is RKIEUXM.
Would it matter if I use this one?
Why can't you just download twrp (I know it's in development but it works) and just flash magisk via it?

Is there really a working twrp for renoir? Having trouble finding one that works for this phone.
Scroll down for it. It has a few issues but it works. I have rooted Mi 11 Lite 5g Touchscreen may not work for a few seconds but after that it works perfectly.

My phone was is running an EMEA ROM, once the latest 12.5 update popped there was no archive version with .img files inside, so I downloaded the ROM for a different region (similar version, though), extracted the boot.img, patched it with Magisk and flashed it to the phone. Everything works fine, no issues.

22.1.5 doesn't work that way for me, by the way.
Neither with Magsik Stable/Beta, nor with Magisk Canary. Phone keeps ending in a bootloop. 21.12.29 was fine.

Sorry, I don't understand. You did root Xiaomi.eu 22.1.5 by flashing Magisk through TWRP 3.6, or by patching boot.img and flashing the patched img through Fastboot?
And by using Magisk Stable v23 or Canary 23016?
Or you tried but you got a bootloop?
In that case again, which Magisk version and by which method (TWRP or patching & flashing)?

Sorry I have no renoir yet - hence I could not test myself (asking while waiting for the phone)
With previous Weekly MIUI 13/A12 you were able to install Magisk (or this is now the first MIUI 13/A12 Xiaomi.eu Weekly)?
I.e, wondering if problem with rooting started with MIUI 13 and A12
PS: I see now also MIUI 13 Stable for renoir: xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11Lite5G_V13.0.4.0.SKICNXM_v13-12-fastboot.zip

I can't be more clear than that. I had MIUI 12.5 xiaomi.eu stable, with TWRP, downloaded MIUI 13 beta China(in zip file), flashed it on top of the current firmware. Then I had MIUI13 beta china with TWRP...but switched to stock recovery due to fastboot rom xiaomi.eu weekly and lack of zip roms.
