Question Can't connect to university 802.1x WiFi - Redmi Note 10

I am running official MIUI Global 12.5.4 ROM (the only thing is that I am rooted, and always have been rooted).
But I noticed that for a month or so, I can't connect to my university's enterprise WiFi. It used to connect fine before, maybe this is related to the new ROM but I am not 100% sure. My phone connects to my home WPA2 WiFi normally, as well as other open networks.
What happens is when I tap on the Wifi network it shows "connecting" then it stops and does not connect.
The problem is of course not on the university's end, because my other laptops, devices etc. connect as normal.
Is there a way to troubleshoot or solve this without "aggressive" things like wiping etc. ?

i don't know if my case is the same but... Wi-Fi from a Private University of here can connect correctly (yes , it's a enterprise too)
i'm running MIUI 12.5.4 Global UnRooted...

To add, I've tried forgetting the wifi network and re-configuring the wifi settings, same results. Any good apps that might be helpful to solve the problem? (i.e. show logs why connection is rejected?)

You can try to see if you can debug the problem running
Bash:
adb logcat wpa_supplicant:V *:S
or using an app like MatLog and filtering with wpa_supplicant.
Hopefully you'll have some more clues on what's the problem and you can search for a solution.

I used Logcat reader with root privileges, here is a copy of the log when I attempted to connect to the "eduroam" wifi network:

I don't really know what I'm talking about but if I had to guess it looks like it's trying to authenticate with the wrong protocol.
I also found this but not sure if it's related
PSA: Android 11 will no longer let you insecurely connect to enterprise WiFi networks
The Android 11 update will break connecting to certain enterprise WiFi networks. Here's why and what you can do to fix it.

P.S.
You could try to enable Wi-Fi verbose logging in developers options to see if you have more details. (remember to turn it off when you are done)

So after I enable verbose logging, how do I see the log? Again using a third-party app?

Same as what you used before.

Ok so here is a paste of the verbose log. I tried to connect to Wifi "eduroam" three times during logging. I can't pinpoint where the issue lies now though.

I also tried to connect to another enterprise network by another organization, and I am having the same issues. So my device basically cannot connect to enterprise wifi networks.

I am no expert but I think it might be related to the article I posted before.
Do your WIFI setting require to select "Do not validate" for CA certificate?
If so is that option still available?
BTW I can see your email in the log you posted, you might want to scan for other personal info or just delete the log, I don't think I can find anything anyway.

Thank you for the heads up, yes I removed my email.
The wifi network is basically the "eduroam" network which is used across universities worldwide. The instructions posted by my university do not have any requirement to select "Do not validate", although in the advanced wifi settings, that option is selected.
I also tried to delete all certificates installed, and same thing happens.

Maybe this can help

How to connect to the University of Cambridge's eduroam wifi on a mobile device running Android
help.uis.cam.ac.uk
There are specific instructions for Android 11 and it says to forget previous configured settings.

I forgetted the wifi network multiple times and tried over and over again.
Also installed the latest global stable ROM which was made available a few weeks ago, same exact behavior.
Eduroam app did not help.
A couple of more clues:
1. I contacted the IT department, they say that they don't see my device MAC address attempting to make a connection.
2. I tried to connect by putting a wrong username/password on purpose. The behavior is identical, meaning my phone does not even try to authenticate in the enterprise WiFi.
Any help with this matter appreciated.

Does the phone show its identifying information (IMEI, device name) in the settings?

That would be explained by the fact that your phone and access point are not agreeing on the protocol to use to communicate so there is no attempt to login.
Maybe show them your logs I don't really have any other idea.

If you mean About phone -> All specs -> Status then yes..

Not sure if the source of your issue is the same than yours, but I had issues trying to reconnect not connecting for first time, but every time I leave it out and coming back to it, and the solution was in Network details/Privacy, changing to Device MAC instead of randomize MAC.

How I fixed it, was the other way around, forgetting the connection (just one time), setting it up, and then using device MAC instead of randomize MAC (I guess this is set by default), also checking Auto connect and detect automatically. Some private connections require some additional step, logging into an account or adding the device through a QR code (you should ask for it).

[Q] When browsing with enabled VPN, phone reboots itself.

I created VPN connection: L2TP/IPSec CRT VPN
When i connect to it and then start browsing using any of browsers available: Dolphin HD, FF or original one the effect is the same.
Website will start to open and then - SGS2 will suddenly reboot itself. This happens every each time, like 100% of attempts.
I have Android 2.3.4 on non-rooted phone. The same was when i had 2.3.3.
All browsers are up to date.
Have someone met with similar issue?
Does anyone use VPN on SGS2?
Maybe you could say which VPN settings work for you and don't crash your phone?
I've the similar issues.
every time I try to connect VPN(via PPTP), it reboots 100%.
EDIT: this only happens in 3G network. It's fine in wireless network. and when I had official Fireware, VPN connection is fine in wireless network, but can't connect in 3G network.(not reboot, but can't connect).
UPDATE: I use openvpn now, it works both in 3G and wireless network.

Same problem here. I opened another thread about this.
It looks like the problem is there with 2.3.4 and 2.3.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297120
I use L2TP IpSec with PSK (because PPTP won't connect with my carrier in China). And everytime my phone reboots after a while (it's not only when surfing, just doing anything using data connection).

[Q] Few questions about com.android.settings crash while connecting via bluetooth

hi, I've got a new phone ( Simvalley SPX-5 UMTS ) based on UMEOX X-Land.
When I try to connect it to my TomTom NVA-SD8110 ( build-in car navigator for Mazda 5 ) com.android.settings closes unexpectedly, after OR while pairing, without asking for password, it just crashes.
Android: 2.3.5 ( there are no updates available )
Bluetooth: 2.1 + EDR
I tried to reset to factory but it still gives me the same error.
What could be the reason? Is it a phone-hardware issue, is it android 2.3.5 issue or is it navigator issue?
Is there a fix or maybe a `possible fix` which I can try to solve that issue?
I hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] wifi on S3 not working anymore

Hello,
recently I updated a S3 international the latest CM
Everything worked well for a week, then my wifi stopped to work, I was not able to turn it on.
I tried everything suggested with no luck.
I then reinstalled other custom roms with no luck, at the end I reinstalled a stock firmware and wifi came back.
Reinstalled again CM and wifi worked for some days, then the same problem.
I tried everything with no luck, wifi wont come back even on a stock firmware...
Here is some info from log:

Did you follow the install instructions with your ROM?

I was on stock 4.1.2

[Q] Lenovo S6000 HDMI woes...

Just picked up a S6000 yesterday for the wife's business. I plugged in an HDMI cable just to check and no luck. Tried a couple of different display devices also and no go (these work with my Razr Maxx).
I tried researching and all I could find were some lenovo forums that indicate that it needs to be sent in. Unless there's a hardware issue (plausible), that seems likely unnecessary to me. For what this is needed for, that's probably more than we want to do also.
I got ADB connected and I can see activity in the logs. Also, a notification icon comes up. But symptoms are, no video/audio (no signal message) and HDMI settings remains grayed out.
Here is a brief snippet of the ADB log. I can add more if it would help. I'm not afraid to root this thing if needs be.

mainboard replaced - No cellular network

Hello,
My i9100 died some months ago, it was impossible to boot (Tested different batteries, SIM-cards and chargers). I think it was overheating when I used it for the last time.
I bought a used mainboard from China and build it into my phone. It had Stock Gingerbread installed and was used in Iran.
An IMEI-analysis says that the board is a european version

I use cm12.1 (12.1-20150430-UNOFFICIAL-i9100) but I also don't have cellular network with other ROMs. GPS, Wifi, BT etc. are working
Search for mobile networks is not successful and I can't execute USSD-Codes. The efs-partition is not corrupted. Most files are from 2010, last changes 2013.
Do you have any idea how to solve this?
Best regards
Have you checked which baseband software version is showing under "about phone"? This is stored in /dev/block/mmcblk0p8, and would not be updated by installing CM. I think I9100XXMS4 was the last European one. Rather than messing around with installing this, you can simply install Sale's NeatROM (modified Samsung 4.1), before installing CM etc.

Another thing to consider, but I not sure how you'd check or fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/external-antenna-socket-warning-t1273292
This would mean the radio modem is booted & working OK, but no antenna = no signal = no networks.
My baseband was XXKI4. I installed XXMS4 but that didn't change anything.
The antenna socket is not damaged or anything but i don't know how to check the functionality without destroying the coonnection to the internal antenna (provided it works at all).
Hmmm @tgb456
Install stock 2.3.3 and root it.
Connect your phone to PC into ADB. Start logcating and make log:
--restarting phone
