It is imposible for me, cause I am not a developer. Can't change anything.

Proximity sensor not working
When dialing the screen goes black - even when the phone is not at my head. I can't operate it any more, e.g. it is impossible to hang up the call. This is a common problem also for Nougat ROMs. Con this be fixed here?

This is not a nougat rom so its not affected by bugs from it
Your sensor can have become unplugged as many of us here discovered including me

Two remarks:
"Meltdown/Spectre": The CVE-2017-13218 patch announced by Google, "which helps limits side channel attacks", is not yet implemented, we have to properly test that one for side effects first. Besides, the information given here is not entirely clear whether the Krait CPU of our device is affected or not, however - for the benefit of doubt, we assume so.
We are working on getting many kernel patches applied, which are/were flagged as "not publicly available" (so is also CVE-2017-13218) in the last security bulletins - so the next release will bring a couple of additional kernel patches
For those of you building from source, the test branch will soon be merged into the stable branch 'cm-12.1'

My opinion is its the most stable lollipop rom I've used long-term.
If you execute fstrim once per day it stays very fast.
I have had only two random reboots both in a critical time but I got it up and running within a minute.
As mentioned before its cm/lineage based so camera is a thing to be aware of.
Let the phone execute camera workaround app on boot. Don't touch the screen for a second or two or the camera might not work.
If the camera freezes when in use you can usually exit the app and relaunch it and its good to go.

The changes in detail
As announced last month, we have in addition looked systematically for patches in past android security bulletins, which were flagged as "not publicly available" and were able to find around 70 additional patches for our kernel, which we have applied, next to a few other missing patches from miscellaneous other repositories.
We have also applied CVE-2017-13218, which was listed by Google in the January 2018 bulletin as mitigation for the "Spectre / Meltdown" set of vulnerabilities (quote: "reduces access to high-precision timers, which helps limits side channel attacks (such as CVE-2017-5715, CVE-2017-5753, and CVE-2017-5754) of all known variants of ARM processors."). We are still not sure, whether "Spectre / Meltdown" are applicable to the CPU of our device, but the implemented patch is part of the upstream kernel, so it makes sense anyway.
We have enhanced the Privacy guard and made the scan for Wi-Fi networks an own switch, which will be prompted by the system. In Android 5, different from later releases, this activity is not bound to the coarse location permission and could so far be obtained independently by user apps. Further enhancements of the privacy guard allow now to restrict access to the clipboard, the notifications and also remove the vibrate activity from apps.

When I press the sound on and off button, it takes a picture. I could not find the settings to close, and what gapps should we install? There is no problem when installing rum, but it gives a warning when the gapps is thrown behind it. The new camera sensor does not work because there is no mount.

New camera sensors will not work...blame Xiaomi for that (don't tell me it works in xyz roms then why not here, that's cuz they use prebuilt kernel and I don't)

The only thing that avoid me staying on custom ROM is that I can't deactivate Sims.
The first ROM that implements this feature (besides good call recording) will be chosen.
Has this rom sim deactivation feature at this moment?

@pritish1998Excuse me, Mi official had released the miui v12.5.1 gobal version. Will the next version of Lineage FE upgrade blobs, global firmware, and vendor?
Not saving as default some custom Launcher. For example, Nova Launcher. After reboot Lawnchair set default back. Not critical, but not nice. On other firmwares it work fine.

Hi, I've tried the ROM and it's working nicely. Everything seems to function, even the rounded corners are perfect... at least on the top. The corners at the bottom have what seems like a one or two pixel gap/line. I hope this is not just me and is fixed soon.
I have a question. Is this version with encryption enabled OoTB? Cause previous version was and I would need unencrypted version (am using app with it's own encryption witch doesn't work with encypted phone).

Everthing works just fine.
However I found some issue (maybe it's just on my end):
when I tried to update the apps with automatic update the Play Store somewhat just hang at Waiting.
No updated files where downloading, the circle icons was spinning but nothing happened. After an hour or so I just aborted the update and went updating manually one app after another. And it worked!
SO as I said I don't know if it was something on my end or it was some hickup with Play Store, but the OS works great.

I'm using this rom since couple of time now, the past version aswell.
I have to say that this is the best rom ever for redmi 7A.
Baterry is perfect everything smooth
I noticed one probleme about Vowifi that i can't make it work, at least Volte is working properly.
i tryed to use last xiaomi firmware flash, reset apn etc.. almost everything, IMS says registered volte: avaible vowifi: unavaible so i guess it's maybe a rom problem if other people can test. FRANCE: FREEMOBILE.

The phone keep disconnecting, reconnecting never end ..from computer when usb plug after this command:

tried on 2 pc with qualcom driver.
At least if i put android in DOWNLOAD MODE its working fine the phone is recognized with qualcom driver by QPST TOOL..

Can you add to the Kernel the use of OTG and simultaneous Charging on the Redmi 7A? I don't know how to do it, but I know other people did it with other phones, such as all the sunxi chip using devices (https://linux-sunxi.org/USB_OTG_Charging_Hub) as well as https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...charging-adaptor-on-my-moto-g-xt1032.3431856/ or the Timur's Kernel the https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-nexus-7-2013-timurs-v4-0-android-6-0-1-mob30x-flo-deb.3523149/.
If you don't plan to add it to the official rom, could you at least tell me how to modify the Kernel to permit simultaneous OTG and charging and what to modify?

Using an external screen recorder does nothing, everything remains broken.

Wifi reception in this ROM is very weak. Please fix it
Edit : I do not recommend this ROM.. With use for less than a month, the phone has become very slow and turns off automatically and applications stop and do not work until you turn off the device and turn it on again.. and there is a problem with the camera, the flash precedes taking the picture The result is a dark image ..
