Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I am pretty new to rooting and I have a question. I recently rooted (with TWRP) my phone (Samsung Galaxy J7 2016). Everything seemed to work well until I rebooted the phone. Now whenever I try to boot it, an error message appears at the top right corner saying "Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock".
I tried going to recovery mode, but I wasn't able to get there (I tried holding VolumeUp + Home +PowerButton). However, I got into the download menu without any problems (Holding VolumeDown + Home + PowerButton).
So I did some research on the internet and found a guide (https://technastic.com/remove-frp-samsung-combination-file/) that I followed but in the end, when I started the Combination Firmware in Odin, I got stuck with a message in the log saying "File analysis..". So maybe USB Debugging isn't on. On the other hand, Odin detected my phone so I don't know.
Please help me. Thank you

[Q] I am in serious trouble. Would appreciate if anyone could offer me some help

I have a Hong Kong version Galaxy S6 Edge which I have rooted through Pingpong root. Yesterday, after I installed TWRP recovery through Flashify, the phone could not boot up with this message: "Custom binary blocked by c-rom." I then searched on-line and noted that for our version of the Edge, there is a bootloader lock which must be unlocked before any custom rom or recovery could be installed.
There are on-line solutions for "Custom binary blocked by reactivation" which basically requires the phone to be booted into download mode and install through Odin. I have tried this method but the phone did not seem to react to Odin (not sure if this is due to C-rom lock). Also this method requires removal of the battery which is not possible for Edge.

I brought the phone back to Samsung Service Centre yesterday but they simply refused to help and suggested that I replaced the motherboard for some US$350. I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the hardware and so did not accept their service plan.
I appreciate that this problem only exists in China version of the phones (see link below) which have C-Rom lock but still I I would be grateful if anyone in the forum could offer me some help here. Would be much appreciated.

Have you tried putting the phone in emergency mode and using the smartswitch recovery mode to try to fix the phone?
Thanks for your comment. As the phone cannot bypass the bootloader lock, I cannot switch it to emergency mode.
Odin works differently you have to boot into download mode by being powered off, then press power, home, volume down, then press up.
Do not connect to computer yet, open Odin, load your files, let it do its thing, then connect to computer, you will see added, then hit start.
Good luck.

Unable to install Stock Rom, unable to enter recovery mode

Hi, I have S6 Edge (SM-G925I). I have mistakenly bricked my device. It is running on Android 5.1.1. I tried rooting my device with CF-Auto Root. and since then i had this error on on the top left corner of my boot screen it is written in red and it says "Recovery is not seanandroid enforcing". i was really annoyed by this and tried to get back to my Stock ROM via Smart Switch. Unfortunately it failed. since then i am not able to enter recovery mode. Every time I try by pressing the 3 buttons, it shows up on a Cyan screen with this written "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software". following that whenever i run Smart Switch it says that my device is not supported. I went through many sites over the internet however none solved my problems. i'm desperate for help. Please help me

[HELP] Softbricked Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Hey everyone!
You are my last option, I am on the edge of a nerve breakdown, seriously. I wanted to root my S7 Edge because my car doesn't read the phones filesystem, so I could root it, and download an app, to make it look like the phone was USB Mass Protocol, and then work with my cars usb port. ( It doesn't have an AUX)
So I rooted my S7 edge using Odin and RTWJ, and it worked fine, however snapchat wasn't working, so I downloaded x-posed loader, and tried to install the framework, and this was when things started to go south.
I don't remember what exactly happened, I just remember going into settings to reset everything back to factory settings, then it restarted my phone, and it was just stuck in the booting screen with the icon and such. At this point, recovery mode didn't work anymore, only download mode. So I went into download mode, and I downloaded my countrys stock firmware (NEE for nordic countries), and tried installing that on the phone again. When I pasted in the BL, AP, CP and CSC, and clicked on download, it failed, and on the phone screen it would say "SECURE CHECK FAIL : (PIT)".
I then went and tried it all over again, but only with the AP this time. Then I got the error: SECURE CHECK FAIL : (BOOTLOADER)
THEN I tried with the original RTWJ custom recovery in the AP, and it suceeded! I could finally get on my phone again, however snapchat still wasn't working, and I had had enough of this ****, so I went into the SU App, headed over to settings, and clicked on "Unroot". This was probably a big mistake, because after this, my phone turned into a brick (almost)
At this point I COULD access the recovery with the VOL UP + POWER + HOME, and I went to delete all files / factory reset, and all cache files aswell, to set the phone back to zero.
Now nothing worked, and the last things I tried, was to go into download mode again (recovery mode no longer works), and try to install stock firmware, RTWJ and CWM. NOTHING works, the installation is suceeded, but nothing happens on the phone, it's still stuck in the booting screen.
PLEASE help, I am so close to return it, and just pay whatever it costs to have it fixed.

Galaxy S6 Active stuck at No Command/Downloading

**The problem as it stands**
My Galaxy S6 Active is stuck in a sort of bootloop, except it never seems to attempt a boot. If it was turning on, without any combination of keys, it would go to the "No Command" screen. From there all I can do is force reset (power + volume down) to get it to restart to the same place or as it displays the Samsung splash screen, press volume up + power + home, it goes to the download screen. From the download screen, I can use my pc to flash a rom (that may not be correct) to the device and according to Odin, that is a success but my device freezes on "erasing".
Imgur album with pictures of the accessible screens (http://imgur.com/a/Rd9ND)
**Description of the problem when it was booting**
At seemingly random times, the device would freeze and the only way to get it to do anything was to reset it. Sometimes it would enter a bootloop but through key combinations, I would be able to get it out. One time after a bootloop, I had the sense to back up the device's storage, so luckily I have that.
**What I've done**
- I have tried wiping the storage in device recovery -- when it was accessible, I can no longer get to it.
- I have tried using Kies/Smart Switch emergency software recovery -- but when provided with the model name and serial number they would both crash.
- When the device booted, I tried using the standard recovery feature in Smart Switch. I can't remember the exact message but it was something along the lines of "This device does not support initializing"
- I have tried using Odin to flash ROMs (again, I may be using this incorrectly) to the device. I have only tried Samsung release ROMs, meaning ones that have not been modified by a 3rd party. I followed the second and third methods of a guide on XDA forums (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...e/downloading-flashing-att-galaxy-s6-t3260744). Odin never throws an error and it always says it was successful. During the device's initialization with this new ROM, it gets to 32% then goes to "Erasing". A few seconds later the animation freezes. I can leave the device here for hours but nothing happens. So I believe more than the animation is frozen.
- I tried using ADB recovery via the device's recovery mode (when it was accessible) but from what I can gather, Samsung uses a proprietary ADB interface that would not work with what I was trying to do (I was following method 3 of the previously mentioned guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...e/downloading-flashing-att-galaxy-s6-t3260744). I would always get a message saying "ADB server out of date".
I may have done more than that but that's what I can recall.
Any help would be appreciated. Even if you know of a better place to post this, let me know.
Thanks
My s6 active did the same thing on 08/24/17. I have not yet found a solution.

fail to open recovery_cause(No such file or directory)

Hi All
I have samsung A5 2017. When i start my phone it shows no command and it continues to restart after 1 minute.
When i try to open recovery mode i get error "fail to open recovery_cause(No such file or directory)". I have also tried combination of key power and volume up but not getting recovery mode. I think it has been deleted or something else. I am also unable to load firmware.
I also tried to install twrp with odin 3.13 but get error unable to install frp locked.
Please tell me solution how can i get back recovery mode so that i can install firmware.
Please help me for this.
Hey there,
I have a similar issue and I can see your post dates back to 2020. Have you ever found a way?
I'm very curious about solving the issue on mine (I can't reboot at all, can't even access the reboot after getting the "no command" message. If you have any clue on how you accessed reboot mode and can be kind enough to share, this would be really appreciated )
I know this is an old thread, but did you find a solution?
On an unlocked J6, after flashing the stock rom, although I can open recovery, I get the same message. The options I tried (both reboot options, both wipe options, power off) work. I went ahead and installed twrp through odin, which passed, but when I boot into recovery, it boots into samsung recovery (with the same message) and not twrp.
I'm guessing the twrp problem is related to the error message.
