Question Good bluetooth buds - Google Pixel 6

I have this problem, I'm using soundpeats bt buds, also in my car Bluetooth, others are sometimes having hard time to hear me. Not sure if it is. The Bluetooth devices I'm using has a problem but it doesn't happens regularly. Just want you to check if anyone is using good Bluetooth buds for work whole day and it never gives any kind of issues on calls.

I can't take calls with my now 2nd set of pixel buds. Terrible call quality. No issues with any other audio, and no issues with Bluetooth audio in car. Really weird.

My problem is, sometimes the caller would not hear me clearly and then I have to switch to phone mic, it's really not quite stable with soundpeats sometimes with important calls.

Looking for something as stable as and as good as apple airpods ofcourse not breaking bank same as apple.

All my calls are garbled, they can hear me but I can't hear them. Always have to switch to phone speaker. Really frustrating when these buds were made for this phone. I'll have to try another set to confirm it's a phone problem.

I have a 1st gen set of OnePlus Buds Z that works amazingly. They support the instant connect and the phone can see the battery of both buds and the case.

You want ones that support the APTX HD codec... the highest resolution codec available for this phone.

I have aptx hd on ugreen car Bluetooth but for buds problem is mic gets unstable sometimes then I have to switch to car bt or phones mic , this happens a few times in a day. Looking for buds which is ready and stable for calls and mic to be clear all the time.

My Pixel 6 has it listed in Developer options and I've found post elsewhere where posters claimed they were using it.
On Google support forum
"I have 990kbs LDAC on 6 Pro with my Shure Aonic 50s, options are greyed out until headphones are connected".

Anker puts out good product. My Liberty Air 2s have been flawless on both the P3 and P6.

If you want a 'disposable' pair, I'd recommend the PowerAdd S12. For only $10 shipped, they definitely score well in the value department. They work fine with my Pixel 6 - even when I walk into the next room, and I have no complaints from anyone about call quality. They are kinda bulky, but stay in my ears just fine. Even though the company seemed kinda sketchy, they take PayPal so I gave them a shot. Both sets I ordered from them were delivered.

Bluetooth Stereo Headset

Hi,
I am looking for a bluetooth stereo headset. Where can i find one
which is good sound output , reliable and long batt life. I want to be able
to listen to mp3's and calls thru my XDAIIs.
Any ideas?
http://www.blueant.com.au/
Wow, a bit pricey. Do you have 1st hand experience with this device? The reason that I am asking is that tha xda II / III's have traditionally had bad bluetooth reception. Before I dish out 300 bucks I would want to make sure that it did not suffer from the same bluetooth static that the headsets are having with the xda's.

I tried many bluetooth stereo headset, and wasted hell of money on trying many of them, considering the bad bluetooth reception of the PDA2K, the best bluetooth stereo headseat works with it is motorola HS820 it works well within the range of 1 to 1.5 meters from the PDA2K.
"6 talking hours - 100 hours stand by".
I'm still waiting for the up-grade which was promissed to be developed to improve the performance of PDA2K's bluetooth reception.

Don't worry, I talked with the live chat on iMates site and they asured me that the bluetooth issue would be resoved soon.
Now that was 6 months ago and 2 ROM updates, I am still holding my breath....
The Motorola HS820 isn't a STEREO bluetooth headset, but I agree that it's one of the better regular bluetooth headsets for the phone. I also bought the Motorola HS850, which is the update to the 820. The bluetooth performance was definitely better than the 820's performance but I ended up giving it back anyway because the volume is too low for me.

don't buy this product. http://www.blueant.com.au/. I called up the guy to enquiry this product. AT first, they did not include HP IPAQ 6365 in the list of compatibility. After I talked to him, they claimed it was working properly but they did not money into their mouth so the next day, they included as part of the list of compatibilty.
second, the guy also told me that it did not include a dongle which can support A2P2 therefore it will not work for HP IPAQ 6365 as it did not have A2P2 software hence it will not answer phone call and listen to MPEQ music in stereo manner.

The Motorola HS820's volume is not low for me, but I do receive some complains "sometimes" from the other parties saying that my voice is low and they ask me to raise my voice, but some other times it works fine.
Hold on....
Are you guys talking about headset or handsfree?
So far I understand hs-850 is a handsfree bluetooth (not a headset bluetooth).
Correct me if I am wrong.

They waiting for me at home, (I'm currently in the US) so I will let you know next week.
Well I'm listening to The Killers over HQ A2DP stereo
I had to use the BT hack stack here to get it working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15671&highlight=stereo+headset
I have paired the handsfree profile as well. The problem is however the handsfree is not working very. Also the pause and stop buttons don't work with WMP10.
Will post updates if I get any other stuff working.
I just got the Zonet ZUB8100 from Newegg -- only $120 after rebate (which ended yesterday). Works very well as stereo headpnones with my SX66, not so well as a voice headset. You can connect the BA to it in both A2DP and handsfree profiles simultaneously, so it should be possible to answer the phone while listening to music. No caller ID, AFAICT -- well for $120 you can't expect perfection
There's no mic boom, so the mic is in the left earpiece, a bit too far from your mouth. That in combination with the standard headset issues with the BA results in quite a bit of static and the person on the other end barely able to hear you.
Well guys, I dont recommend the Sonorix or infact any BT Stereo headset unless you like pain.
They are a peice of crap.. wasted $150 dollars Sad
Sound is muddy and they not very comfortable. (Granted I'm used to my Sennheiser HD500's). Not to mention it takes ages of fiddling to get A2DP working and then it doesnt work well.
I think Bluetooth is a waste of time. When Bluetooth2 comes out and is properly supported i might give it a second chance.
In the meantime I'm going to use these instead:
http://www.seidio.com/index_products_pda2k_headset.htm
I bought the Motorola HT 820. Works pretty good for answering phone and stereo music on sx66 after some bluetooth updating and adding profile. Not too comfy but tolerable for $89--took a couple of weeks to arrive.
Haven't used them for prolonged periods but they work for a couple of hours at a time.

Bluetooth Headphones

Hi there.
I am currently looking for some bluetooth headphones (not a single headset) to use with my HD. Anybody have any advice and/or experience?
Thanks!
(I'm in the UK, so ideally from UK shops!)
I did find these. No idea what they are like though:

Anybody...?
Hi,
I have been using HBH-DS980 with polaris and now with HD. Sound quality is better comapred to polaris (comparison without tweaking bt settings). Adressbook and call history works also you can see the number/name of the caller.
Music quality is quite good. AVRC is working as expected. The volume keys do not change system volume for music but I noticed that when in call, if you adjust volume from this device, phone volume is also updated.
Hope this helps.
try....
the stereo headphone, handsfree - motorola S9 - was 29 quid - i ordered then before 11am, had them by 11am next day....

Heres one review I found, though not user
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/11/07/review_bluetooth_headphones_sony_ericsson_hbh_is800/
I bought some HBH-IS800 bluetooth earphones.
I haven't used them extensively yet, but one thing's for sure - they are just as dinky and slick as you expect them to be
Sound seems okay - not as good as the wired in-ear Sony ones (MR71 I think) I have been using, but easily good enough for commuting, gym etc.
Can't comment on battery life yet, but paitring is easy, and they are comfortable in the ear, despite being slightly larger than the wired type.
All in all, you could prolly get much better phones for the money (I paid £78 from mobilefun.co.uk), but for convenience, discretion and sheer smugness they're worth it in my book.
Cheers
Pete
my headsets
I use
Motorola H700 as headset and
Motorola S9 as headphone
both work fine with my HD. But I can't compare them as I only own this two parts. But I use them for almost one year and I'm very satisfied.
Best regards Wolf_munich
The HBH-IS800 surely look great. Exactly what I've been waiting for. BUT 4 hours of use is just too short...
I use this one, the sound is good
Motorola S805
Hi there
i have used two different stereo headsets with my athena- both generally crap.
Both of mine were the caller id type with controls.
1. sony HBH-DS970 crap sound- decent BT connection- voice quality (ie volume) ok after reg hack- caller id unable to display name, shows numbers only- track id cant show name- audio not loud enough, never found hack for this- ****e in ear buds- special sony charger- in ear padding falls off and gets lost for ever
2 decided I wanted to be able to use my B&O earphones so I got a ax bluestream from tritton- your own headphones plug in to the clip on BT unit- audio quality good but still too quiet- controls not intuitive- OLED- BT interference in calls is high when walking away from the phone- buggy software- no caller name or song name, just phone number. Better than the sony unit- mini usb charging
Overall my biggest problem was the lack of volume- managed to reg hack the outgoing and incoming phone audio but not the music level.
Overall i prefered the tritton option as i could use my own headphones with the buit in mic- cost more than the sony though
Battery life on the sony required me to carry the charger everwhere- especially given that the atena doesn't support calls without a headset
Hi,
Just the topic I was looking for.
I have finally come down to 3 choices:
1. Sony HBH DS200
2. Motorola S9 - Stylish. Not sure on quality
3. Sony DR-BT21G - Looks stylish as well. But crosses 40 bucks. But can purchase if there is significant difference
someone, pls compare these if possible keeping in mind the price and quality...
I was looking to purchase one for 30 quids
someone pls help me decide..
I am looking for a bluetooth headset which will allow me to listen to music on my Touch HD in the car (podcasts) but also allow me to take calls if need be without swapping headsets.
I have looked at the 3 above and none seem to do that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
The S9s should, I suppose it depends what profiles your car setup supports.
I use my S9s to listen to music vids on my laptop and I can take/make calls via my HD using the buttons on the headset.
Set the partnership on the HD to "hands free" and laptop services to "audio sink".
Be aware that the telephony audio is from one channel only. The left ear.
edit: Sorry, I misread your post.
However, the S9s will allow you to do what you ask. When listening to audio an incommimg call will pause the audio and switch to hands free telephony.
Here is the .pdf manual.

I am in search for a good bluetooth headset to my Gear S. I came across the "SMS Audio Sync by 50 Wireless".
I have contacted the support which told me that that a headset hands-free communication has.
they told me that i have to note that this mic has MFI controls!?
What is MFI controls? This is an Apple standard?
has anyone tested the "SMS AUDIO SYNC IN EAR HEADSET"?
Does the phone with the gear s?
what can you recommend for bluetooth headsets?
yours sincerely

I have the bose over the ear bluetooth headset abs love then. I just ordered the LG tone infinum I think it's called to try then out with the watch.
Keep us posted with your experience of the LG Tones as i plan to buy them in a couple of weeks.
I use Logitech H800 and they work great for how cheap you can get them. I've had them for almost 2 years now, which is probably my longest relationship with a pair of headphones.

I use the Motorola Buds, good for music and built in mic for calls.
I use LG HBS Tone Plus. Would have gotten the Infinim, but the reviews I read were not too favorable in comparison to the Tone Plus.
I love that they are very flexible and light-weight, I can run with them without them bouncing up and down, I can control music and audiobooks (play/pause/ff/rw), as well as phone calls (answer/hang up/ volume up/down) from the buttons on the right and left side of them.
I also love that they tell me the battery status when I turn them on, and that they let me know they are running out of juice "Battery very low. Recharge now."
I use them for my Note 2 and Gear S simultaneously, which is nice.
The best part about them is that the earbuds are kept in place with magnets, and I can have one earbud in my ear, and the other one left in it's little magnetic cradle, so I can hear my surroundings.
If you can't tell, I am totally in love with my Tone Plus. They have survived daily sweaty runs, rain, snow, Off Deepwoods, steam... If you are a runner, get them. If you aren't, get them anyway.
Bluebuds X are amazing and great battery life.

+1 for JayBird Bluebuds X.
I'm not sure how common the battery issue is, but the problem could stem from improper charging. The earphones are quite small and trying to charge them using an adapter that is suited for a Cellphone or tablet may put too much strain on the battery. This is an issue for all batteries if you're using improper charging adapters... battery life will ultimately suffer greatly. It's best to charge these earphones with something that outputs a small amount of charge... the smaller the charge, the better it'll be for the battery. Something like a USB jack from your laptop/computer or ones commonly found in vehicles today are suitable and shouldn't cause any harm. Regardless of this issue, JayBird will gladly replace the earphones just as they have for those that have had this issue before.
Other than the battery issue, another common concern has been with the earphone tips. Some say they don't hold well inside the ear and don't block out outside noise well either. I personally never used them beyond just trying them on for the first time when I got my Bluebuds so I can't confirm this, but I highly recommend pairing the Bluebuds with some foam tips from Comply... They are recommended many times over by other Bluebuds owners and I personally find them to be amazing.
Beyond the concerns, the Bluebuds have excellent sound quality and are known for having a perfect amount of bass. They're absolutely great for working out and I love how they fit. I don't ever really use them to make voice calls, but I recommend not wearing them in the configuration where the cable goes over the ear and the mic is located behind your head... It doesn't work well for voice calls obviously lol. Wearing them any other way is no different than your common hands-free earphones.

I have LG Tone Infinim too, but I don't know about you but while it pairs flawlessly with my LG G3 it doesn't want to pair with my LG G Pad (tablet) 10.1, when scanning for a bluetooth device on my phone it it finds it correctly by it's product name but on my tablet same process produces a device named "Misc" but when attempting to pair it it fails! I had high hopes for LG Tone Infinim but when it fails in something like this I doubt it's quality!

I would quicker blame the tablet then the headphones. I have it paired to my Mac, S6 Edge and windows 8.1 all without a problem. While I have occasionally had call quality issues, they are rare enough that it doesn't bother me so much.
I'm using two, one is Sony MDR-1RBT, second is Plantronics Backbeat Fit. Both with from my point of view excellent battery life time. The Sony should have up to 30h, can't confirm it in detail, but I'm happy with battery life. Sound is for me fine. To get plantronics at the end to was because Sony looks a bit heavy when I use it on the road.
I use plantronics beats 2, and they are really good..

DAC Fix for LG V10 works for the V20, too.

I'm using the tmobile v20 and noticed this morning that my DAC wasn't impacting the sound quality of Google Play Music at ALL. I have been using a v10 for the past year and I could tell that the DAC wasn't working, or it was broken, because my non-DAC listening on the v20 paled in comparison to the v10 with DAC on.
I went ahead and installed the DAC Fix for V10 and it seems to have fixed my issue. In case any of you aren't noticing the DAC working on streaming apps, try this. So far I've had no issues.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lgv10.dacfix&rdid=com.phascinate.lgv10.dacfix

Funny, listening to Google Play Music with my leftover Note 7 earbuds I hear a distinct difference when I toggle the HI-FI on and off. I tried installing the V10 fix app and can hear no difference enabling or disabling it. I did see that the settings for Hi-Fi say "The sound has been automatically adjusted to the connected audio device". Could the type of headphones/earbuds determine if it engages?
T-Mobile edition of the V20.
I also hear a big difference on my T-Mobile unit. I'm using a set of Skullcandy earphones, and toggling off/on is immediately noticeable.
I ended up testing some more...I turned off the DAC fix, yet the toggle still worked. So I uninstalled the DAC fix completely and the toggle STILL works. I guess my unit was stuck in the "off" position for some reason, but it's working fine now. Weird. Sounds so much better with the DAC on.
The DAC fix makes no difference on my V10. Once the dolby atmos is turned on and Viper, the sound quality is superior. My V20 is arriving today and I'm sure with my 1More earphones and that 32bit DAC my ears will cry for mercy.
I wasn't able to replicate your problem, but I must say... This audio quality is far superior than any other phone I've ever used, finally something deserving to be used with Denon Urban Raver's.
Soooo is the DAC fix only for streaming apps such as Google play?
This is my main source of music...
Im comparing the headphone DAC on the s7 and the v20 and they almost sound the same, Im activating and turning off the Hi FI on the v20. Im using an audio technika m50x. Should i donwload the app to fix the dac? im using a video from youtube to do the testing. going to use google music songs that i have download to see if there is a difference.

I'll tell you right now, if you can't notice it, it isn't working. You don't even have to be close to an audiophile to notice, it's just simply 3x better.

It is quite noticeable on every music app I've used. The best way I would say is just listen to some music you like. I wouldn't know how to fix it, mine works perfectly. Try a factory reset?
Edit: I just moved from the S7 edge, and the difference is quite clear. I even think it's much better without the hi-fi turned on, but with it on it's significantly better too.

Sennheiser Momentum In-ear, SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism headset, and both Samsung and apple ear buds that come with phones. There isn't a pair I can't tell the difference on. I even did a blind listen test with my wife, and she confirmed that it sounds better on the samsung ear buds she uses (included with S7 edge).

I figured out a very easy way to tell. If your phone doesn't mute music for 1/2 a second when you turn it on, it isn't turning on. It should have a 1/2 second mute when enabling or disabling.
It does. So i imagine is better in the clarity or something. Because it doesnt sound louder than the s7.

Sennheiser Momentum In-ear, SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism headset, and both Samsung and apple ear buds that come with phones. There isn't a pair I can't tell the difference on. I even did a blind listen test with my wife, and she confirmed that it sounds better on the samsung ear buds she uses (included with S7 edge).

how you are connecting them? first the cable to the phone and then to the headphones? or just plugging them
This dac fix did nothing for quality for me listening through my Bose QC15's couldn't tell a difference

So mine is confirmed working with google play.
plugged my vmoda crossfade LP2 wire into th3 phone , then into to headphones.

Question LDAC on Galaxy S23 Ultra is it working?

Hi guys. I am trying to use my Realme buds wireless pro with LDAC codec on my s23 ultra but I can't change it from aac. What do you think? I tried to do this in developer options. I really appreciate your advise.
LDAC is available as an option (I use Sony WF-1000XM4), but as soon as I select it, the modal is closed and the codec switches back to AAC. I suspect it to be a firmware issue, as my S22 Ultra (Exynos) was able to use the LDAC with those headphones and my Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 without issues (I haven't tried the latest on the S23 Ultra yet, though).

found out that we must see the buds settings in the app and choose LDAC. Then will work..

Great, at least for one of us.
Normally, my WF-1000XM4 are able to switch automatically from AAC to LDAC depending on the priority you set (connection's stability for AAC and audio fidelity for LDAC), but LDAC seems to not be currently reachable. I'll quickly check around to see if I missed something.
Edit: I tried a few things but nothing seems to be able to solve this for now. I'll compensate with the Dolby Atmos until a solution appears.
Sony must have an app for your buds. Look if you find it and try in settings of this app.
Good luck!
Is LDAC activated in Settings - Connections - Bluetooth - WF-1000XM4?
I think that is what you have to do..

Yes, the Sony Headphones app was already set up for LDAC, it was just a mistake from my side to haven't checked the Bluetooth profile of the WF-1000XM4.
Thanks for your help, guys. 🫡
Comrades, if you guys got the galaxy buds 2 pro, you really must give it a try. God damn, they sound sweet and can easily give the XM4 a run for their money. You may need to change the tips to those with the XM4s..the stock buds tips are garbage.

I kept the ones offered as "S23 Ultra early-adopter" bonus for my wife, but I assume the proprietary codec from Samsung is doing fine? I'll ask her to let me try them to have a comparison, though. 🫡
But for someone looking for a new pair of TWS (and outside of the launch offer), I would still recommend the WF-1000XM4. They are quite discounted, these days, so as the price range is pretty close I'm not sure that the Buds 2 Pro are that comparable (overall specs), especially since the multi-point has been confirmed to arrive soon (during winter, if Sony keeps its word).
But thanks for the recommendation, it tickled my interest!

I have the Sony WF-1000XM4, WH-1000XM4, and now the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and believe me the earphones sound astounding. I have the scalable codec enabled and it really gives LDAC a run for its money. The sound imaging is extremely detailed compared to the XM4s - I listen to Tidal with Master enabled (although Master is meant for wired listening, but at BT levels, it transmits at the highest bitrate). The only issue is the extreme battery drain - I have been listening for 40 mins and the battery has drained 13% already! On that note, the XM4s are champions.

If my wife begins to complain that I "borrow" her Buds 2 Pro too often, consider it'll be your fault.
Jokes aside, that's pretty sad that Samsung didn't include LDAC in these, as it would be more versatile and consumer-friendly (although I perfectly understand the "golden cage" move, as Apple does the very same with its own ecosystem of products).

Hold on, do you want to tell me that Buds 2 Pro are better than WF-1000XM4?

I really don't think the golden cage principle could apply to any Android device unless it's an iPhone!! Samsung can try as much as they want, but as long as we are in the Android world it would be impossible to put us in a cage. But yes, you may want to exchange the buds with the XM4s!

If you have the XM4s, I'd suggest doing an A-B testing and listening to the difference yourself. I was sceptical too initially, but after listening to the buds 2 for a while now, my XM4s have become secondary. I use them only when I listen to my portable music player since the buds sound garbage on AAC

Well, as this codec is exclusive to Samsung products, if you don't have a Samsung phone recent enough to pair them with, you loose one of its main selling points (the main one?), and you can't compensate with an other Hi-Fi codec.

Yes, their proprietary codec is called SSC (Samsung Seamless Codec). But they can use AAC too.
