Having upgraded to XXKI3, I noticed samsungdive (tracking / Find the phone feature..) is no longer working. I had a closer look seemingly IMEITracker.apk (system app) is not there either - this might be the cause ?
I wonder if this just happened to me or someone else ?
Samsung Dive works with me and I am on KI3 villainrom
Doesn't work for me either.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
@achillies400 : i guessed it could be the feature of VillainRom - have IMEITracker.apk hang over from old rom
@rdbhalla: wonder if you can check via RootExplorer or something similar that you didn't have IMEITracker.apk in "/system/app" either ?
Same problem here on non-wipe (frankenstein), non-rooted stock xxki3 on Bell Canada.

I receive no errors but when I try accessing any of the functions on the Samsung Dive website (ex: "Find my mobile") on both Firefox and Chrome I have no success, it never successfully connects just thinks about it for hours.
I also noticed that imeitracker.apk was not present but mobiletracker.apk was, not sure if that makes a difference.
I re-flashed the release firmware - and apparently imeitracker.apk is no longer there definitely. Re-used the old version made no different as well.
If mobile tracking is important for you, I reckon it's time to move on . The free version of AVG Mobilation is good enough for me. (Sorry as new member I cannot post link) - Google will do
same for me ... dive stop working after flashing leomar revolution 2.7.1 ( ki3 )...
btw imeitracker.apk is present on /sustem/app ( root explorer )
also tried to restore my 2.6 backup ( kh3 ) and still not working ... pretty confused because it was working fine on 2.6 before updating to 2.7.1 ...
Yip. I had flashed back to XXKH3 (which originally worked), it didn't help too. I started wondering if that's a backend problem from Samsung ? Notice the webapp got updated recently .
for myself i think the issue come from ki3 cause on my second galaxy s II ( revolution 2.6 never updated to ki3 ) it's still working fine ...
I have just tried it on my Touch KI3 rom and it is not working as well. Have anyone found a workaround yet?
Looks like there's a number of missing files in KI3 - maybe integrated into something else, maybe removed entirely?
File link in post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18101252&postcount=4
Hi,
I have been using KI3 for past 1-2 weeks and i have no issues with Samsung Dive....i can call my ccell, track my location, get logs, wipe data..everything......not sure why u cant...
i used KI3 uploaded my intratech and samfirmware....
have you used samsung account in ur cell..in accnt and sync section???
may be a complete reset will work.....
just throwing my 2 cents......
@smilingcruel ... m8 you're lucky
here even after full wipe, kh3 restore, etc etc etc nothing to do ... dive won't connect to my phone ...
of course all setting are ok ( samsung account linked, mobile tracking is active )
tried on wifi, 3g ... just nothing
and it was working perfectly before ki3 update ...
btw i noticed something strange on titanium backup ... no I have com.android.imeitracker strikethrough and grayed ( like not installed backup )
but i can't do nothing w/ it ... it's not a backup, i can't uninstall/install it ... nothing to do ...
and of course this is not present on my second SII w/ kh3 ( revolution 2.6 ) that have never been updated to ki3 ...
This purely a piece of guess from. But this XXKI3 release is for Poland which outside the current service zone of SamsungDive (i read somewhere UK/German and some other regions) .. hence the removal of IMEITracker.apk which explained why it's not working.
After all, i just don't bother now ...move on to some other service and freeze the rest apps to save memory
For @OniKim, the titanium have grey, strike-out package because IMEITracker.apk create a data folder and Titanium backup picks it up yet can not find (for some reason) the matched APK.
If you want to remove it, look into "/data/" there is a folder called "com.android.IMEITracker" then removing this will be okay else just leave it there
humm ... ok about the ki3 release issue cause it's for poland ...
but what is making me going crazy it's why after restoring kh3 dive is still not working ... and why dive still working for lots of people w/ ki3
btx thx for the info about imeitraker data folder ...
also can you point me to the alternate solution you're using ???
i really want a remote acces to my phone ...
As I've said earlier... I gave up on this.
I assume you mean remote tracking / lock instead of access.
But anyway here is the one that I used AVG Mobilation from AVG http://www.avgmobilation.com/
It's free for tracking, remote lock, shout ... all just work - I haven't tried the remote wipe for an obvious reason . Btw, it comes free with antivirus
oups sorry i missed your first post about avg
and yes by remote access i mean remote tracking etc ...
anyway will give it a try ... thx for the info !!!
I had the same problem (rooted SGS2 with 2.3.5 and KI3) - I have createted a new Samsumg-Account and it works now. The Problem is, it is normaly not possible to delete the Samsung-Account without a hard reset.
I have do this with Titanium Backup:
-> backup your phone with TB
-> deaktivate with TB the Samsung-Account
-> reboot the phone
-> restore the Samsung-Account without data
-> activate the Samsung account again
-> now you can create a new account
I hope this workaround works on your side too...

Thanks! That totally worked. I've added a couple of notes for those that follow this process to make it clearer for noobs like me.
-> backup your phone with Titanium Backup - the specific file/app you need to backup is called "Samsung Account" (v1.0 in my case)
-> Freeze Samsung Account with TB
-> reboot the phone
-> go back into TB and restore the Samsung-Account *without* data
-> activate the Samsung account again (Settings -> Accounts and sync -> add account)
-> now you can add a samsung account. You can still use the Samsung account you had previously (e.g. use the same email and password) and just recreating it will make samsungdrive start to work again.
I have a problem on my Galaxy S3, running android 4.1.1 on Vodafone network in the UK. It is not rooted.
I want to make sure the phone is unlocked before buying a sim card for use in France
Using the stock dialer, "*#7465625#" gives me "ussd code running" followed by "Unknown command".
Looking around elsewhere, others have blamed it on Mobile Tracker, which as far as I can see, I don't have. The only solution I have seen is a factory reset, which is a scary prospect for me, not having any idea what that entails. And then reinstalling apps one by one until the culprit is found. I have also seen comments about ussd security issues. I am slowly heading out of my depth here (I know my way round windows quite well, but phones are unknown territory for me,).
I am hoping some clever souls on this forum might be able to help. Is this a known, and solved, problem? Or is a factory reset my best bet?
If I have to reset, I know where the reset is in the menu system - on the same page as a checked box saying backup. So...does does the back up happen automatically or when I press reset or have I got it completely wrong? If not, which files do I need to save away from the phone? What happens to things like contacts I can remove the external SD card, so that won't be an issue. How do I reinstall the apps, particularly the ones I have already paid for?
I have spent most of the afternoon tried to get a handle on this and my head is spinning now.
Any help at all, would be very warmly received.
Polly
1st solution : root your phone, very easy procedure then you can flash the same stock ROM from sammobile.com to become unrooted again without wiping/resetting your phone.
2nd solution: download APPSAVER from market for free, then you can save all the applications you have downloaded but not the DATA (for example you can save the game itself but not the progress you have achieved)
as for the contacts, go to the contacts folder - menu import/export - export to usb storage and voila all your contacts will be written in a single file that you can import after you reset your phone
as for SMS, you can download "SMS Backup & Restore" from market for free to backup then restore your SMSs
after you perform the above, go to Settings - Back up and reset - Factory data reset and your phone will be back as you received it.
On the other hand if the phone is locked you can always unlock it using Voodoo S3 on the Play Store, it can sim-unlock your device if you're rooted of course.
Great reply, thank you!
Rooting...a bit loth to do that while still under guarantee and at my level of experience. One day I will get hold of an old phone and try it with that first.
Appsaver - what a brilliant app, thank you again. If it is one particular app that is the problem (and that is the sense that I get from elsewhere), then I can use this to back up my apps, uninstall them all, check for the ussd error. If it has disappeared, then reinstall apps one at a time until the error reappears. If it hasn't disappeared, then I can go the reset route, after backing up contacts and SMS.
Thank you so much for your help.

Ah. The more I try to read up on this, it feels the more lost I get.
How do I check whether the phone is unlocked...borrow someone's micro sim card?
Hi, I'm not sure what's the problem with my phone I will try to explain so someone could point me into the right direction:
I have a Galaxy S3 bought in Venezuela carrier locked to Movitar, I had it rooted and with a custom firmware (cyanogen), I moved to Spain so I purchased the unlock from galaxy sim unlock. I have put another line from a Spanish carrier and phone can make calls and all. Here's were the problem starts, I notice that the only way to enable mobile data was to activate data roaming which I found odd given that I'm in Spain and it is an spanish carrier. Also notice that the play store still had some icons related to the carrier back in Venezuela and all the recomended, top free, top paid apps where mostly localized to Venezuela. I tried to install some apps from Spain play store and it won't let me. Searching on google found that to change the play store I had to change the country in the Google account which I did with no results, change any payment methods related with the other country in Google Wallet, which I also did and no result.
I think that maybe there is still some information about the original carrier, so I ask the community if someone can point on what could I try to remove any carrier leftover on the phone.
Thanks in advance
Problem reads as user failed to change modem or CSC .
In recovery format sdcard system data and cache .
Boot to download mode and flash the correct stock rom for your network .
Hi Thanks for your suggestion, but wouldn't be the same to wipe data and cache from recovery and flash cyanogen 10.2 from recovery? I ask because I have done that and it is still the same issue

Unfortunately TouchWiz Home Has Stopped
Ok... I will start, First thing was to get rid of that stupid swipe up to the Magazine app under the home page of my Sprint Note 3. After I deleted the Magazine apk and odex files, when the home button was hit twice I got an error message "Unfortunately TouchWiz Home Has Stopped Working". My solution was to install NOVA Launcher. After it was setup, I deleted TouchWiz Home .apk and Easy Launcher .apk (TouchWiz Easy Home). The error message has stopped, the home screen does not swipe up anymore (great!!!).
About time !!
Wonderful work mate i know i had serach for two days to zero in on a reliable tested list
Back then ( about a week back ) I had followed Droidstyles list of bloatware apps and uninstalled most barring samsung HUB and its service and that easy mode apk .
all the rest i murdered mercilessly ;P Of course he is on verizon N3 and ours is sprint , but apart from native vzn apps all the rest are similar and safe to freeze or remove , all the sprint crap i had already removed .
here is his post

I regard DS since the time i was using my VERIZON FASCINATE
enjoying the look and feel , on to installed the 5x5 lightening fast TW launcher and just loving my monster
thanks again
One more thing I wish to add
Kindly don't remove
"MyScript ResourceManager
Otherwise you ll face many force closes while using s pen functions .
See ya

Unfortunately Sprint ID Has Stopped
I have another one, I deleted the MDMApp.apk. It showed 0.00B on the application manger, thought it was empty. After I deleted it, got an error message " Unfortunately Sprint ID Has Stopped" when I downloaded an app in the play store, ended up restoring my latest backup, and replacing the MDMApp.apk. It may be empty, but it has something to do with e-mail identity and your device identity when using Google Play Store. Here is a site that explains this. http://www.itnews.com.au/BlogEntry/350953,what-is-mdm.aspx Restoring the app did NOT stop the error message !!! Somehow the settings where changed in the Google play store. When I installed Nova launcher and deleted the TouchWis launcher you have to uncheck the "Add icon to Home screen" option, or the play store tries to add an icon the to home page of a now deleted TW launcher and you get the "Unfortunately Sprint ID has Stopped" error message. There is more one fix, you can delete the ID.apk, this stops the error message to, ID.apk installs the sprint default apps, Scout, Messaging +,CBS News, Lockout Security,1Weather, etc. Which showed up the time first booted up your new device. You MUST also, delete Sprint_Installer.apk, or it reinstalls everything on a new boot up. If you delete the default apps you can always find them in the Google Play Store.

Unfortunately Email Has Stopped
First, after receiving an email and clearing it out of notifications, I get the error message "Unfortunately Email Has Stopped". This is caused by either stopping the MyMagazine.apk (doesn't stay stopped) or deleting it (my choice). So, I downloaded a deodexed NC5 copy, pulled Gmail2.apk, and SecEmail_J.apk files. Decompiled them with an APK Tool, and tossed them in a Text Editor. Did several searches could not find the word Magazine in any file in the APK's. SOLUTION : downloaded CloudMagic email app, set up my emails, then deleted SecEmail_J.apk and odex files. Left the Gmail2.apk, and SecExchange.apk files in place, and everything works great with no error messages!!!
Edit : If you have updated from Gmail.apk to Gmail2.apk, Gmail2 allows for Google, and non-Google email accounts to run on it. So all you have to do is delete SecEmail_J.apk and .odex files. Then run all your emails on the Gmail2.apk app and the " Unfortunately Email has stopped " error will be gone !!!
Build.prop ( knox )
As you can see from the image, I'm going to assume the line item builds or tells device to build a KNOX container ? This was still there after I did a KNOX search with Root Explorer. I used the script editor in Root Explorer to remove the line circled in red. So far there have been to problems or error messages. Hopefully just another part KNOX spyware gone !!!

KNOX REMOVAL ( Build.prop )
As many of us know, you can disable KNOX but so far, it is impossible to remove it. I found that after ROOTING my device, once you open SuperSU it asks if you want to disable KNOX ( MANY THANKS TO CHAINFIRE ). I clicked yes, Then installed Root Explorer, and did a search for KNOX. It came up with a dozen or so files, I did a mulit-delete to get rid of them. With that done you end up with two files left that when deleted come back (reinstall) upon rebooting device. First one is SYSTEM/DATA/KNOXVPN below are screenshots.
Now to permanently delete this file, go into Root Explorer script editor and remove the files that are outlined in RED in Build.prop screenshot below. Then delete the files in the screen shots above, and reboot device. As you can see in the next screenshot below it is gone, and will not reinstall on boot up !!!
As for the second one it is CILPBOARD/DATA/KNOX it is still a work in progress, but I have not given up yet !!!
CSC ( Customer Sales Code )
In the process of DEBLOATING my Samsung Note 3 after multiple recovery backups, error messages, and freezes. I needed a fresh start, went to Samsung Firmware and downloaded the latest version of 4.4.2 NC5. Once it was flashed in the device, I noticed that upon boot up the Yellow Sprint Logo that follows the Samsung logo was missing. At first I thought it was an incomplete download. ( This could be a problem ) Turns out, there are four CSC ( customer sales codes ) versions of Sprint 4.4.2 NC5 on my device.
1. SPR ( Sprint USA ) adds yellow Sprint logo, very common
2. VMU ( Sprint USA ) adds yellow Sprint logo, used rarely
3. BST ( Boost Mobile Australia )
4. XAS ( Sprint USA ) no Sprint logo, used when carrier is unknown
( If you go to system/media this is why there are so many versions boot_samsung.qmg files )
The files listed above can be found in system/csc. To find out which version you are running go to system/csc/sales_code.dat, and open with a text editor. The version of 4.4.2 NC5 I downloaded from Samsung Firmware was XAS that comes with no yellow Sprint logo. ( Problem solved )
Quite an observation mate .
Would be useful for me as I am Stull on nab and I wish to update myself to nc5 before I flash the vision X 3.0 rom

Now click on Preconfig, then choose the CSC you want, then click install. You will end up with a out of the box, new copy of NC5. Check out screenshots !!!
BECAREFUL ONCE YOU CLICK INSTALL, YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA ON THE PHONE, AND INTERNAL SDCARD BACKUP ALL DATA FIRST TO YOUR PC.
Prl, mdn, min, meid, spc ???
What does all this mean?
What is the PRL?
The PRL (Preferred Roaming List) is essentially a list of towers for the device to use to prioritize communication. A "Sprint" PRL is required for the device to use Sprint's towers to communicate. So, you should update your PRL when you move, or are planning to be in an area for an extended period of time.
What is the MDN?
The MDN (Mobile Directory Number) is the phone number with area code associated to your account. It is required to program your device. (Example 5558675309)
What is the MIN aka MSID?
The MIN(Mobile Identification Number) is a unique number associated to your account, using the same area code of your locale. It is required to program your device. (Example 5551234567)
A mobile station ID (MSID) is a number that is associated with the home service provider and the wireless phone number. This is reprogrammed when the user changes home service providers. It can also be called the mobile identification number (MIN) and is not to be confused with the mobile device number (MDN) in the CDMA world, which is the device's telephone number.
What is the MEID/IMEI/ESN?
The MEID ( Mobile Equipment Identifier ) is what your carrier uses to identify your device. MIED is a form of ESN ( Electronic Serial Number ). IMEI stands for ( International Mobile Equipment Identity ). IMEI is another form of ESN. In Sprint's case, you need the MEID DEC to associate your device with your account. Some devices (Samsung Note 3) have it listed on the sticker under the battery, while others will have MEID HEX listed in the OS instead, and will need to be converted to DEC. Samsung Note 3 lists both on the sticker under the battery.
(DEC Example 268435456123456789) (HEX Example A000000A1B2C3D)
What is the SPC? aka MSL?
The SPC is a 6-digit code used to access the programming features of your device. All Verizon devices use 000000 as the SPC code, which makes flashing very easy usually. Sprint devices use a unique code for each device and they can be quite a task to obtain.
MDN and MIN with no MSL on Note 3
Ok, to get MDN and MIN go to DATA/USER/0/com.samsung.syncservice/shared_prefs/PHONE_DATA.xml they will be listed there.
MSL on Note 3
This app is only one that worked to get MSL/SPC here is the link https://mega.co.nz/#!cdgkCbZQ!FMc13SUNTcM4elX-IwHQhKNGjSnT_bjNXWNQw7heqU8 download, and install click on MSL/SPC.

No, not that I have found. If you tell what you removed that you want back maybe I can get it for you ? Are you rooted ? Otherwise here are some options.
First if you are not rooted, do a factory reset. Yes you lose all your data, so connect your device to PC via usb cable and copy and paste all of your music and pics to folders on your desktop. Then reinstall after the factory reset. Your contacts will come back after you sign in to your gmail account.
If you have a rooted device, then you should have made backup right after you rooted the device. So you will have to do a backup restore. I keep two backups, one is copy of the full rooted stock NC5. The other is a backup of NC5 with a font mod, volume mod, and completely debloated, no KNOX set up for daily use. If I flash a new rom and it goes bad I can always restore back to normal.
