Hello,
I don't know that much about android developmment, but as bootloader unlock is not possible anymore, would it be possible to build a ROM wich would be custom BUT comaptible with the stock bootloader and the stock kernel ?
Thanks a lot

It's not possible, since the bootloader is locked you can't even flash a rom.

Custom ROM for locked bootloader

is there anyone out there willing to make a custom rom or port a version on cyanogenmod for the people without unlocked bootloaders? I used to have x10 mini pro and people were able to install custom roms without needing custom kernel and it would be amazing if we could too.
Anyone?
thanks

[Q] Why no custom kernels for locked BL?

Hi ALL!
as stated on topic just a "simple" question...
Why wasnt possible to flash any custom kernel on locked BL?
Since we can flash easly stock kernels with flashtool(in flash mode), why wasnt possible to build a custom kernel that was flashable like stock ones? No way to build a custom kernel that behaves like a stock one for flashtool?
Sorry for stupid question but really I can understand why kenrels was flashable only on unlocked BL...

Yes, I know that but my question was more precise...
Why wasnt possible to build a custom kernel that can be flashable like stock ones? I cant imagine why since Sony will build stock kernels noone else can do a stock-like flashable kernel...
Can you open a locked door without unlocking it with its key ?
No
So you can't flash custom kernel without unlocking bootloader,
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium
I think its because of signatures and stuff
Sony bootloader(locked one) can only boot when it confirms that the kernel is sony signed
while unlocked ones have no restrictions
One cannot simply sign a kernel with sony key right?
Thats the answer
@ilgreco112
I think that the jatinrungta statement was the key...
Since Sony firmwares was easly flashable why dont create a Sony-like firmware? Was forbidden?

[Q] Kernel on stock rom

Can i flash a kernel on my stock rom ICS ? (i am using Live with walkman)
while installing a custom rom from the developers community can i install it on my stock kernel, is it neccesary to change the kernel ?
thanks for the help in advance
Yes you can install a kernel for stock ICS, just check out development section
And yes it's necessary to change if it's another android version or if the developer tells you in his thread to use a specific kernel
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.2

yea so there is a rom i want to install(for live with walkman), and it says that u can load a custom kernel if u want ?
so that means even if i dont load a custom kernel, would it work on my stock kernel from the manufacturer is it fine ? or i will have to load custom kernel ?

There are custom roms for locked bootloader (no need to flash a kernel) and there are roms for unlocked bootloader (you need to flash a kernel)

you are required to unlock your bootloader on non stock based roms such as CM11, AOSP or anything alike

Relock bootloader with twrp

Hi guys, I currently have a poco with PE and I want to relock my bootloader. I wanted to know if it is required to be in stock ROM for doing so.
thanks in advance
AFAIK yes, you must install stock kernel
You need stock ROM and stock recovery to relock bootloader and not brick your phone.

It is not advisable to lock the bootloader while on a custom ROM.
