I regularly use my Mi A3 at my desk (inside). Unfortunately this leads to a massive reduction in dataspeed compared to outside my door. Would an externat antenna fix this and, if so, how to I install one?
You use a cell phone signal booster, it's wireless.
My cell phone is my modem. My ISP signal comes to the phone and transfers via Hotspot to a tp-link connector and thence into my PC. It is data flow to the PC that I am really interested in.

Desk is where the PC is. All the other locations are within ten minutes bus ride from home. Is the 'cell phone signal booster' going to help?
Not sure... it may not.
Voice calls don't use that much bandwidth.
Thanks. I'll check the signal strength at those other locations.

I just installed the recent ICS leak and all's well so far, save for one little thing. i have an airport extreme at home, and while it appears to connect to my wifi, it's not listed on my AE's connected devices. furthermore, i still have the 4G LTE icon as well as the wifi icon. So, it seems that it's still using 4G. I've tried the wifi other places and all seems well.
Also, when i FORCE it into wifi (put in airplane mode, turn on wifi) it works fine.
Any ideas?
rats... was going to post a screen cap. i guess i have about 5 more posts to go before i can.
maybe now?

Hello
I bougth a new chinese smartphone Coolpad 7295+ with the MTK6589 chip.
I still have original rom, but i rooted.
I try to fix GPS problem with some tutorial, and now I can fix with 10 satellites, but signal is very unestable. I can record satellites and positions with engineer mode, but if i use GPS driving my car, signal are losed and hard to connect again ( must wait 5 minutes ).
I checked that A-GPS not works properly.
If i use my old smartphone ( Samsung galaxy mini ), at home, with AndroiTS app, GPS signal are very weak, and automatically switch to AGPS mode. Position coordenates are calculated.

But, if i use the Coolpad, phone can not connect to AGPS mode.
What I can do ?

I seem to be having the same issue, have you had any luck fixing it?
Yip I reset the phone and all ok now.

I don't think there's a fix, but I can provide some explanation. According to the FCC documents Bluetooth / WiFi share the same antenna. Bluetooth operates on 2.4Ghz just like WiFi. According to FCC they cannot operate simultaneously.

Hi there,
Is it possible to read/modify the .gps file or can someone say what the contents of the file is?
A long shot, but was thinking that if the .gps file stores the list of satellites, that the slowness of watches connecting to GPS could be down to the watch having to go through each satellite until it finds that one that is above you. If this is the case, can the list be cut down or reordered to prioritise what satellites the watch is looking for?
Please have a look at Wikipedia on GPS.
The file is an ALMANAC to calculate the precise GPS satellite orbits. All of the information is needed, as all satellites will cross your position during a day. This info is also transmitted from the satellites, but with a very low transmission rate. So you would have to wait a few minutes until the messages are received AND you need a good connection so the received data is not corrupted.

This file is the basis of the bootstrap process. No, nothing to optimize.
I use WPA-3 Personal, 5.0 GHz, identification as portable hotspot.
None of the settings change anything with the issue I'm having, the issue is, that very often when I connect to the network on my PC and do any amount of traffic (send around 1mb of data), my pc shows that I disconnect from the WiFi, but phone shows that pc is still connected, trying to connect on PC back to the WiFi it just said could not connect, and only fix is keep trying changing random settings that automatically turn off/on the hotspot, it never fixes if turning it off manually, nor does restarting the phone itself. Been happening since day 1, there's a lot more weird issues but that's another few hundred words to type and they seem to not happen atm.
Want to say that, it just happened while typing that too
