Been a fanboy of Pixel since Nexus 4. The best models I think would be the original Pixel, Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 5. Good solid phones for my use without any problems that would bother me.
Pixel 5 was great, I kept it even after getting a Pixel 6 and would occasionally pop a sim card in it to use. I don't do any gaming and P5 had everything I needed besides a bit slow processor sometimes.
Pixel 6 on the other side would constantly make me annoyed. Don't like the size, it's bulky. Oneplus is even easier for one hand use even though it's a little bigger overall.
I am a truck driver and go to many different places. The modem in this phone is just horrendous. It loses signal or has bad connection in places where other phones perform just fine.
Even at my home, P6 is basically unusable, while OnePlus has good enough connection (Verizon).
Charging P6 is a bad experience too. Takes forever if phone is being used and gets hot. Overheating is actually a big problem here. I often use video calling and never ever did I have another phone turning off mobile network, because it got too hot, after 40 minutes of talking.
I just got tired of constant bugs and really happy about finally switching to a different phone. Oneplus does not seem to have any of those problems so far. Great cell connection and charging speed is just incredible. Software seems to be fine, have not had any glitches yet. Overall I would highly recommend it over a Pixel 6

It all most sounds like you have remorse for getting rid of the P6.
For me , i charge my phone once daily and it lasts form 5 am to 12 pm with 5h of sot.
I have a fast charger for when i really need to charge it fast , but usually i charge it with a slow charger during the night.
Its all i need.
About network, i have no problems. No 5g in my area but i have 4g and it offers good enough speed even for streaming 1080p.
5g spends more battery though

Just sharing my experience. I would not say it's a remorse, its more of a sadness, frustration with hardware and disappointment that I had to leave the Pixel line.

IDK what this post is supposed to achieve but just for the protocol I'd say that I never had any of the issues mentioned by OP.
It's my first google phone , coming from oneplus 3, and i really enjoy it so far.

Interesting reasons why you want to leave the pixel phone....
1. Pixel 6 is bulky (by your own admission the OnePlus 10 pro is bulkier). I can add you one more; OnePlus 10 pro has a curved screen which, if you are a driver as you claim, is really bad because of accidental touches.
2. Modem ; granted I have some problems with this but from my experience as a user of the pixel 6 this is a problem I had on my esim and seems not to be prevalent on the physical SIM. But that is just me so I think this may be a legitimate concern which for now I do not experience (I travel extensively for work by the way)
3. Bad charging experience. You probably did not buy a proper charger for it. Were you using the specified tech for it? I have been using my pixel 4a 5g charger on the pixel 6 (for obvious reasons that the 6 did not come with one) and the charging was very modest. This charger is 18watts which is not fast charging for the pixel 6. However I went for the recommended PD charger that does 30watts and I am not doing Rapid charging. The pixel does around 23 watt on fast charging and I get very fast speeds with that. But this is probably nothing close to the warp charging on the OnePlus 10 pro but honestly this is not a game changer for me as a person on the move. I have a fast charging car charger which is always ready on the go.
4. Heating: honestly this has happened to me when I used the OnePlus 9 pro and worse when I am on a video call, with the phone charging and having placed it on my dash phone holder holder. If I don't have to hold the phone it is fine with me. The pixel 4a 5g would occassionally go off on me because of temperature increase but this has never happened on the pixel 6.
5. Constant bugs....yeah....this has become like a song for everyone leaving the pixel 6. Honestly I went for the pixel because I know I am on the cutting edge of software and I expect some things not to go well. I have options to change from one OS to another so bugs do not bug me (no pun intended). In any case OnePlus has been known to similarly have bugs. Maybe the OnePlus 10 pro is resting on a conservatively stable software which most likely is not the most recent. Please note that the pixel is not a conservative phone like the OnePlus 10 pro. The system chip is new and not mainstream, backing a groundbreaking AI agenda which is pushing grounds to places where people have not explored before ....this is an adventure into the future of mobile telephony...if you are not the person into adventures and trying new things then the pixel is probably not for you. You will most likely receive the newest updates with newest features never tried on another device and this may break a few things and you have to have the tenacity to wait out the growth with excitememt...otherwise go for a conservative device which may appear to have all the bells and whistles but for me does not whet my appetite.

It has always been this way with all of the Google series phones. (Nexus).
New hardware and software on release day. Beta testing in the spring.
Not only that, it teaches peeps the ins and outs of adb/fastboot,terminal, coding android, etc...

So in essence the expensive device not working is in fact a benefit in disguise ? Joking aside, Im with you to the point of tweaking and such to get things ironed out, us droid freaks love doing that, but I was talking about the many things that don't work correctly out of the box for the Pixel 6 series and its user base of complaints. Perhaps I they are exaggerated.

Good lord, I make an opinion ( based on research )and now its labelled as "harping" ,Opinions are like A holes everyone has one. I was merely asking you as a Pixel owner what are your feelings about this device are you happy , did it bring value into your world?
I've had pixels and OP's for most of the past 5-7 years. Loved the Pixel 3, got a 5 and liked it too but a bit underpowered. Had/still have an OP7T as my "big" phone. With google still offering decent trade-in value I just traded my P5 for a P6 (second go-around with the 6) and it cost less than CAD $500 so no brainer there and I do finally like it now that the most annoying bugs are gone, put a d-brand skin on it to make it less slippery. Was very tempted by OP10+ but I'm pissed with OP's recent (since OP9) lack of focus and their smoke and mirrors BS with the "Hasselblad" camera system etc. Oh, that and it being twice the price of a P6...! So, sticking with Pixels for now. Might go back to OP someday if they stop flip-flopping with hardware for the sake of marketing.

Why are you happy and from which phone did you use prior to the SGS2?
Finally a phone I dont need to flash on a daily basis. Im one of the few lucky(according to xda) that have no issues or defects with my sgs2. My last couple devices were orginal sgs(vibrant) dell streak, Desire hd, Hd2, Moto atrix(poor excuse) and Lg G2x.
This device is the best ive ever owned and see no need to buy another device until the sgs3 comes out. Everything works out of the box and never any lag. It outperforms every device Ive tested it against including sensation.
Switched fr N1 for almost a mth, I've experienced an improvement under most of the aspects, the only thing I'm not satisfy w/ is the battery, the different to other GS2 owner is huge, I can hardly stand for 12 hrs and trying to use under voltage to solve it, hope it helps

I use an SGS2 now and then and it is a good unit. What the SGS1 should have been.
Before that I had teh SGS1 (a piece of #$t I was lucky to be able to return) that was laggy, buggy, lacking basic features (like a LED) and had major hardware design flaws (GPS was a joke). It was so crippled it could not be used out of the box, but would become decent after tuning (if you were willing to spend time with it).
I also have a Nokia E72, with the famous Symbian zombie-deathland OS. Ugly, unstylish but very reliable. In several ways, it is still great. Probably will keep it along with an SGS2... just in case.
Only problem with the SGS2 so far is the nasty pink hue in all photos and videos, but I have not updated above KE5 yet. And a pity it doesn't sound as good as the SGS1 on the 3.5mm jack with good audiophile gear.

Seems to me the SGS2 has them all beat when it comes to specs, performance, formfactor, and display quality.
Battery life does appear to be sub-par but it's a compromise I'm more than willing to accept.

Well, I think I do not have to say anything about the previous phones compared to the S2 - it beats them all with ease.
The only two things Samsung should have made better/in another way:
Battery and heat dissipation. I would not had any problems if the phone would be some mm thicker and a little bit heavier for a more powerful battery and no (or even less) heat problems.

I've come from a HTC wildfire and before that a T-mobile pulse and I love this phone. Everything about it is better than my last two phones.
The only problems are the battery life (which im hoping to fix by flashing KF2) and the fact I physicaly cannot use any other device now because they're all too small compared to this (seriously try picking up a 3.5inch device and it just looks small)
i came from an iphone 4 and am a real phone geek where i swap my phone regularly but i have to say im gonna stick with the s2 its easy, beautiful , certainly has the wow factor and its not locked down like ios ..... out of ten the s2 gets 11 just hope Samsung don't let us down by not updating the firmware regulary

I came from an original Galaxy S which was the best phone in the world at the time. I love the SGS2. It's so much better in every way. Everything flies with the dual core processor. The screen size is great and there are subtle changes in the software which make a big difference such as the ability to assign your contacts to groups on the phone with out having to sign in to gmail via a browser.
I have SGS2 for about one month and it is the best phone I ever had. Not a single problem so far, everything works fast and perfect, battery life is great - battery lasts one day and a half on a heavy usage, which is better than 1 day with my previous HTC Desire. It is big step forward compared to my previous phone. I didn't root it yet, because everything is perfect out of a box.

I have been a long time user of smart phones since the days of palm smart phones than to O2 devices than to Dopod and HTC..even tried a toshiba and acer phones..my last device was HTC Desire HD..
This is my first samsung phone..and i am really glad i made this switch..phone is simply amazing..does what ever i tell it to do and it does it perfectly..and now my wife is complaining becoz i often fall asleep with the phone in the hands.
About battery life..i know lots of people are complaining..but on my DHD..the way i trash the phone..battery will last 5 hours max..on this phone..still same trashing..i get about 11 to 12 hours..so for me no complains there.
Note: i never used apple products becoz i simply hate a device that tries to control me on how i can use the device.

I am still undecided if I am going to get this phone or the Nexus 3 which will probably have the same hardware as the SGS2 but better software.
I'm not entirely satisfied yet. I have some problems with the GPS. Searched the forums for some info regarding the GPS and found that most people are happy with it. Sure, if I stand under a clear sky, it finds almost instantly, 10-12 satellites and also locks them up. The problem is the ACCURACY and SPEED.
Accuracy (testing with GPS test):
I sometimes get down to 6 meters. But most of the time it's 10+ and up to 20, and sometimes jumps alot higher than that for no particular reason even when standing still. Yesterday I had my phone next to a HTC wildfire. My phone had 10 satellites and about 10-12 meters accuracy. The HTC had around 6 satellites only, with less signal (I had a few green, the HTC had only orange/yellow sats) but the HTC NEVER goes below 5 meters in accuracy. Most of the time it has 3 or 4 meters, values I never see even with less satellites. I've had a HTC Legend myself and I could have it in my pocket without it going over 5 meters in accuracy in the middle of the forest, which is needed when I'm running...
Speed:
Possible problem with GPS outsignal maybe? When I'm using ANY app for walking for example, the GPS with always show 3,6 km/h. Always a fixed value. When I use Copilot, the same version as i did with my old SGS, the speed will jump 3 km steps for example: 80 km/h, 83, 86 etc.
I guess I'm abit more picky with the GPS than most people. Specially since everyone seems to be so happy with it when it works pretty bad in my opinion.
Oh well it's alot better than SGS atleast.
I'm now using a sgs-II for two weeks and am happy with it.
My previous phones were the nexus one, motorola milestone. The milestone was buggy and big, not to mention locked down my Motorola. The nexus one was generally good except the buggy touch pannel, and during it was running 2.3.3 it was draining the battery very fast.
I had some problems with sgs-II and its gps (it saw satellites but did not lock even after 20 minutes) after changing the ntp server setting in gps.conf it locks in under 10 seconds. I believe that the reported accuracy is more true than other phones. My nexus one typically reported better accuracy but the position was jumping the same as the Sgs-II

dropped it on concrete (car park) and watched it bounced on its sides and then finally slide some 1 metre flat on its screen...
All I had on it was a gs1 screen protector so the screen had some exposed areas but amazingly... no scratch on the screen or even on the metal rims around it. So I'm pretty happy with this phone =D
Also, the drop was so hard that the back plate came off but another thing I'm impressed with it is that the battery stayed in it. If this was my nokia, heck, battery, simcard, micro sd and just about any movable internals would've sprayed out.
The first time I got this phone I thought the thing is so light and thin, I would have to take care of it like a baby. But man the incident made my day. (I bought proper screen protector and case the day before it though... just waiting on shipping, not gonna risk it =P)

Back to the topic, I was kinda hoping that this phone would future proof me for a while... so not having NFC is a bit of a drawback in that department if that takes off. -1
+1 for replaceable battery =P I'm keeping an extra one around just in case (coming from an iphone 3gs)
+1 for dual core! being my first android phone it seems like I have been spared from the general laggy and buggyness of previous gen androids
At the moment I'm trying to make an app to globally control music via the volume rocker which is the only thing I missed from iphone (eg hold the volume down to get to next track) playerpro can do this but only from the lockscreen.
Other than that... I'm a very satisfied owner indeed.

All you say is pure bull$hit.This phone is a piece of crap.Yesterday I opened voice commands and told it to make me coffee.The coffee was BLACK while I want milk in it!And it was much sweeter than I want!I am really considering taking the phone back and buying that Buondi coffee machine.

Being away from the android market for some time now the m9 be my return phone and 10 my current I'd say it's pretty solid. Androids come a long way since the early days.
In case you can't see below signature, I've had a handful of HTC handsets since the Incredible and tested still more. The 10 is the best they've ever put out. I'm finding it snappy; love the sound with headphones and don't mind the loss of stereo via the speaker. I don't know how I lived without a fingerprint scanner and I have always been partial to hardware buttons. I've never tried a Nexus both because they aren't always available for Verizon and they never take removable storage which is a deal breaker for me.
My first smartphone was the droid eris and i only purchased it because it was able to be s-off'ed. Then i upgraded to htc incredible 2 which was quite an upgrade, then i jumped to the SGS III. Then i bought the M8 which was a good phone, but had such a horrible camera. I think HTC nailed this phone and i never thought how much i love the fingerprint scanner. Never been a fan of encrypting a phone, but how its default now. I have to say its going pretty well. Now that sunshine has been updated to allow unlocking without mail in, I think the development will get even better. I can't wait to flash a AOSP ROM.
I'm loving it. It's definitely a step up from the m9 in my opinion. Better battery life, screen and camera. My only complaints are about the keyboard (screw TouchPal) and the audio isn't quite as loud as the m9.

Best phone I've ever owned. Best unlocked bootloader currently available. With expandable storage, it's even preferable to the new HTC Nexus Marlin, in my opinion.

Truly, truly the best phone I've owned in my personal opinion. I thought the Nexus 6P was fantastic until I got the HTC 10; and although the Nexus 6P is obviously cheaper, the difference in quality had me quite in shock. Only complaint is the abysmal speaker volume, miss the boomsound from the M8.

You can manually change the screen temperature settings.
Settings>Display, gestures & buttons>Color Profile.
I agree with you on the volume level though.
I started out as one of the biggest defenders of this phone but I've slowly been disappointed due to a few quirks listed below. However, it still stands as a fantastic phone. It's proven to me that Android has matured to the point I don't need root and custom ROMS.
- Polarized LCD Panel: Sharp but still washed out next to AMOLED. Also can't see it with my polarized shades on.
- SD Card Mount Issues: I have a 200gb microSD. I've replaced both the phone and the SD card. Still get unmount need to reformat errors which are incredibly annoying to deal with when I have 140gb of music locally.
- Random slowdowns: Happening more and more frequently where I have to start going in and force stopping apps and rebooting the entire phone.
- Screen Randomly Waking: I've had so many butt dials and funky texts sent out to people because this will wake up in my pocket even after I've completely disabled touch to wake.
- Dropped Signal: I'll have to randomly switch off both Cell and WiFi to get signal sometimes
- Android Auto: It just won't work some days. Works just fine with other USB C phones.
- Sexiness: Yeah, maybe I'm shallow but I don't think this is nearly as clean as the M7 was. It's still a great looking phone but after putting it in a very thin, clear TPU case it really lost its value. Coming from a Droid Turbo that never needed a case this was a big thing. My work iPhone 6S in the identical case still maintains a great look.
- AOSP Support: This will come, however, I'd like to have it be more supported. For this reason alone I think I'll hold off on BL unlock and sell the device for the new Pixel phone.
Battery: Not awful by any means but also not great. QC, though, is a god send.
I have not BL unlocked the device but I'm simply waiting only due to the new Pixel phones releasing next month as I may just sell and upgrade to one of those. It's kind of unfair to compare this unrooted device to my BL unlocked Droid Turbo but with custom software that SD805 phone was about 90% as fast as this device while feeling better in the hand and better battery life to boot. In hindsight, I should have held on to that longer and waited for the Pixel to upgrade.
I sound like I'm really dragging the phone down but I'm still a, mostly, happy user

- Polarized LCD Panel: it's part of the LCD tech. Only alternative would be to AMOLED but LCD has natural/neutral colors and "smooth" pixels versus AMOLED in which you can see individual LEDs/pixels and purple smears on black/gray colors. It's a matter of preference really.
- SD Card Mount Issues: not sure why you're having so many SD card errors. Perhaps it's formatted as internal or something else? No SD card issues with the majority of us.
- Random slowdowns: Definitely a rogue app! Haven't had slowdowns like that since 2011 flagships.
- Screen Randomly Waking: Strange as the phone will never wake unless you hit the power button (with DT2W disabled in your case)
- Dropped Signal: have you tried formatting? Doesn't sound normal for a phone to behave like that.
- Android Auto: I don't use it so I wouldn't know, as I just use Maps.
- Sexiness: Again, preferences.
- AOSP Support: Thankfully, Sense is now closer to AOSP than ever, without the boringness/plainness of AOSP that nexuses have. It actually has some neat additional features that lack in AOSP.
Battery: I find battery to be great given it's only a 3000 mAh. It's not as good as my previous Droid Turbo(3900 mAh) but the QC 3.0 make up for it.

Yeah, Quick Charge definitely makes up for any difference in battery compared to the Turbo.
As for the signal, it's definitely a rogue issue but I find myself having to enter and exit airplane mode more and more frequently to gain 4G. Usually I'd only have this problem on AOSP Roms on non-Nexus devices.
The screen randomly waking is just flat out annoying. Especially on runs. Accidentally called my CIO the other day when my phone was locked and in my pocket....Not good.
The SD card issue truly is my biggest complaints as I wanted to have this device for my music. I left on a week long vacation and just before boarding my flight I lost all my music. Incredibly annoying and it's always been set as external storage. When attempting to use internal I get the same issue (when testing).
As for the LCD I understand it's complete preference but other LCD panels I've used did not have this issue. When you're out on a boat and in the sun as much as I am you're always wearing polarized glasses. This thing is unreadable out in the daylight.
I don't have issues with signal, or really anything. I would say main grip (minimal) is Wi-Fi does drain battery more than LTE. I will say it's a lot better with custom sense Tom though.

I'm going on my 2nd day with the HTC 10 and I can say I'm pleasantly surprised. After being a Samsung junky coming from a S7 Edge and then the Note 7 I can honestly say I am very pleased with my switch to HTC. I've owned nearly every Samsung flagship since the Note 3. Everything has been working great for me and the near AOSP compared to TouchWiz is great. The camera isn't much of a downgrade from Samsung at all and that really makes me happy. I've been using the phone caseless until mine comes in the mail tomorrow so I've really gotten a good feel for the phone. It handles well and is built nice. I S-Offed and rooted shortly after I got the phone and have zero regrets on the switch. I just wish I did it sooner and I would have saved a bunch of cash from phone switching. Nice job HTC with the build and @jcase and the team for root.
Horrible device, would definitely not recommend this to anyone. Uses a crazy amount of data that the phone doesn't seem to be registering (according to my cell phone I went through 1.2GB of data, the phone is showing 133MB). Battery life is beyond horrible (yes everything possible is disabled -- not syncing, not using photo sync, not using backup, disabled all gestures, turned off all google now/google anything services, screen is set to dim just enough to barely see it). Just using KIK for 20 minutes yesterday I lost 10% battery (no joke). Wifi is still buggy, even after the 186 firmware update. Can't tell if its Marshmallow in general or HTC's garbage services that is causing all these problems. There are so many little annoying things with the Verizon build too -- default email app doesn't resize HTML messages so everything is HUGE, the power toggle widget sucks -- you click wifi which normally turns it on/off but it instead brings you to the wifi settings where you then have to manually turn it on/off, things like this that I have to deal with daily is slowly driving me crazy. Going back to my old device until my data gets the monthly reset, then I'll try some custom ROMs to see if it helps with these issues.
Honestly, the only good feature on this phone is the fingerprint scanner. It did make me realize how much I love my little Razr M which I would go through a full day of use and still only be at 90-85% battery.

Still get a solid day and a half out of it under normal use but used to get nearly 3. That's not the real problem though, I cannot connect it with the Squarup reader. I have been searching all day and I'm sure I'm missing many options. Here is my criteria:
Big battery, nothing smaller than my M7
6" screen (old eyes
Custom ROM and xposed support
Strong connectivity performance (I'm often in areas with poor service)
4g, bluetooth, wifi (ac would be a bonus)
Reasonable camera (don't need DSLR quality, but need to be clear pics)

Thank you Sg Bhagwat and ZuluAlpha for the suggestions. I was travelling so, while I read your replies, I couldn't easily reply back. It turns out that the only one of the suggested phones that is readily available where I live is the Nokia 7 Plus. So I bought it! Definitely the upper end of mid range as far as price goes ($650!), and the battery is about 300mAh smaller than the Huawei M7 but I am kinda hoping that droid 8.1 will have some efficiency improvements so I won't notice real world differences. Been setting everything up for about 10hrs today and still has 42% charge. Syncing GB's of data and accounts is fairly resource intensive stuff so will definitely do better under normal use conditions.
Now if there were only a few more good cases for the phone.......

Im using Rooted Ulefone 5 with Xposed. Not a valid point, its a great phone. The only issue is half the time I dont get sound of notifications
I still like the great sound, the great camera (in daylight)… but the screen is glitching (left half stops working several times a day), the battery life is now very short, the phone is starting to feel slow.
Do you still use yours?
Or what did you replace it with? Are there any phones this good for under US$400?
Still using mine. I suspect the battery has lost a little capacity now, or maybe I need to clear out some apps but it works fine.
I did buy myself an Axon 7 mini recently.
It was a bargain. AU$149 new in box from retail store. I use it mainly for music and streaming television plus some web browsing and it's perfect for this. Works just as well as the Axon 7 for these things. The Axon 7 can still be found here for AU$399 new in box which is still a bargain too.
I think the Asus Zen Phone 6 is looking interesting for the future.

i know two people that came back after buying other, much newer phones. All it needs is a battery swap that should set you back around $8 if you do it yourself, and you can get stupid numbers like around 7h of SOT out of this 3 year old phone.
I just broke my screen, and this was my second axon anyways, so i'll be going. But there's no need unless you get paid for playing pubg professionally or something lmao
I am still using mine as secondary phone and media player. I store all my music, videos and photos in it and 256gb sd card as additional. I love the sound from this phone, through speakers and headphone jack just sound so good. In case I miss the sound from LG's quad dac, I add LG G5 B&O module to still get better headphone experience, more bassy sound (I am an LG phone fan also for their music quality)
The camera has been great since Gcam works pretty well, it produces good and detail pictures and the low light performance is so great.
My axon battery getting weaker as it aged, in accubattery it shows only 1900mAh capacity left fot battery health. Got to replace this in near future.
So far I'm so happy with this axon since I can't afford the phone with better speakers quality and much higher price
Just replaced the screen for the second time. I just wish I could fix my headphone jack. The prongs on the inside don't hold the plug in right anymore
I love the phone though. I'll probably get the Pixel 4 in the Fall, but keep this phone for a long time to use as a learning tool in coding and flashing.
Bought a Red Magic 3 a week ago,but my Axon 7 is still in use,and will be until it doesn't startup anymore...
It will be replaced as my daily driver as soon as the protection case for the Magic 3 arrives,but for audio playback (that's the main reason why it's still running stock rom,although rooted and an unlocked bootloader) and home use (remote control for receiver etcetera),it will still be around for quite some time....
ATM,I can't complain about the battery life,and I hope it stays that way for some time.....
I'm using my axon 7 since 2016/2017 but maybe later in this year I will change it. For now it works great, I swapped battery and installed HavocOS, so it feel like a new phone
It's my daily drive, the battery is not that great probably because of the 1440p display, the glitching in the display only happened to me because I dropped the phone on the floor with the corner with the display connector down suffering the impact. But the phone do not feels slow to me, I even play Fortnite and PUBG with no down frames, I really cannot say bad things about it's performance, it holds up to today's most demanding apps with no hassle.
It's a really solid phone, aluminum body with great heat dissipation (a thing that most Snapdragons 820 didn't had). One of the best Hi-Fi phones out there, great DAC. Can support MicroSD cards up to 2TB, dualSIM, VolLTE, 20MP camera and with the Google Camera it truns to one of the best cellphone cameras I've ever laid my hands on.
Now the main problems are the ZTE updates which stopped in Oreo betas, the custom ROMs are great but you lose Dobly Atmos with them, to get you need to install a lot of patches to make it work and it doesn't work perfectly.
And MiFavor, I installed CPL and never replaced my launcher after.

Urk. I paid 355 for mine, 15 months ago, and I think Officeworks dropped the price once more as they cleared them out.
Still my daily driver, yes. Solid phone, very mediocre software.
Im not using the Axon anymore for daily use. Switched to a Mi Max 3 a year ago. Axon 7 is just a backup now or the music smartphone on a soundsystem.
Battery drain is horrible and the screen is to small compared to the Mi Max 3
Have 2 of them, one grey daily driver and the other gold on backup with spare parts if need be. Had the gold one since August 2016, only got the grey one for $50 on eBay since the person didn't know how to fix the half screen connector problem. (Ended up getting it for free since it was FRP locked). I'll keep this phone until I find an equally replacement with updated cpu.
It's my main device and will probably continue to be for a couple more years. I too have the half glitch thing, bit from my understanding it's just a loose connection inside (which I'll check up on when I replace my battery). It's still fast still feels smooth, especially with LOS or other ROMs which is why I hope this keeps on getting support for a long time

Reading through a lot of the threads here I see that the Pixel 6 is very popular with the OP6T phone set. As the OP6T has ended official support I expect more and more of its users will be getting Pixel 6 phones. I just got mine yesterday and am getting used to it. I thought it might be nice to have a thread where folks used to the OP6T and similar OP models could discuss transition issues while we get used to our new Pixels.
I'll start with one big question:
I'm dying without the physical ringer switch. I knew I was giving it up, but I'm struggling. On the OP6T, I would use it maybe 20 times a day. Incoming Teams call from the boss? Set phone to silent. Ad pops up without volume control while playing a game? Slam the phone to silent. And so on.
Whjat's a quick way to switch between normal / vibrate only / silent mode on the P6?
Would love to hear other experiences, learnings, and questions!
One thing that i did not know initially is that volume keys and the ability from there to switch sound modes works also on lock screen. Just press volume up or volume down and use the button above the volume bar to switch sound modes.
Yeah I found that. It's slick but still takes more than just shoving a slider.
I wonder if there's a setting to like double tap a volume key to toggle modes?
Another thing I'm getting used to is the thickness of the device. I saw it in the specs before I ordered, but wow it feels like a brick. On the other hand, it's got a beefy battery and if a thicker phone is the price for longevity, I will get used to it gladly.
Overall I'm trying hard to run it stock Google to get the experience. However, I may be going back to Nova Launcher for my home screen; I'm not loving the stock google launcher due to lack of customization so far. Time will tell.
Alert slider was iconic feature for oneplus but now even they are dropping it in the newer devices that are not flagships. I am a little bit cursed regarding experiments with new brands. I bought LG V10 and liked it but it had the dreaded bootloop problem and after that LG went down. I bought HTC u ultra and liked it but after that htc went down. I bought oneplus 7 and really liked it but after that the merger with oppo started and everything that i liked in oneplus started to gradually vanish. Now i like the pixel 6 despite the initial problems and hope that situation will only improve in future.
What drives me nuts is manufacturers remove useful features that I love.
For example the multicolor notification LED. Used almost zero power and with proper app could blink color/rate variably depending what was going on. Silent, discrete in meetings, but told me what I needed to know. But now extinct.
Also I don't get the design choice of slick/fragile phone backsides. I used to by more rugged backed phones to go without a case. No more, phones are now more expensive due to glass back plus I need to buy a case adding cost and bulk. Sigh.

True, there's a way around this though - aodNotify makes the hole punch a bit less useless, flashing basically a notification LED around it. I've been loving it since I've started using it in Nov and can highly recommend.

I've bought the pro version, and did some basic setup. One feature it seems to lack that I'd really like, which I will communicate with the developer on, is to make the color settable not just per app, but per email account sending the notification. Maybe this already exists in the "contact" section. I'll have to play with it some more this weekend. I have three email accounts on the phone, and it would be nice to get differential notifications for "family email" versus "personal email" versus "commercial email" accounts. Also have to see if there's a way to have the time/date stuff off... I'd prefer a fully black screen except for the flashing notifications, when present.
But all this is just me picking nits. This looks like a great piece of software that fills a gap, and I appreciate the introduction to it!!

One more not on this: I learned the hard way that the silent mode applies onlybtonringer and notifications. It doesn't silence the phone like the OP phone sliders do. Media sounds remain enabled, so this mode doesn't silence ads which is the main thing I wanted to use it for. I'm experimenting to see if these modes remember the media volume last selected within the mode. Sometimes it seems yes, but sometimes they seem to reset.

After about two weeks with this phone I'm pretty settled in and liking it.
My biggest single issue was the lack of physical audio switch which I'm delighted to report is entirely deprecated by using the wonderful Button Mapper app by @flar2 . That app let me map a single down-volume tap to silencing media sounds, which was exactly what I needed.
I've gotten used to the increased thickness/weight of the phone, which of course there is no remedy for other than time and familiarity.
I'm pleased by its snappy responsiveness, and very happy with the built-in googleness of it, including the benefits of its dialer and call screening and visual voicemail which is better than the ATT equivalent. There are also a lot of assistant features I plan to dig into, gradually, that are better on pixels than other phones. It's nice to know I'm "on board."
The phone works well for wifi calling with ATT after I got the IMEI added to my AT&T account (I was never able to get that to work on my 6T) and at least in my area the 5G coverage is good. I don't get super fast data speeds on 5G but the typical 30 MB/s is more than enough for my uses when I'm out and about.
I've added aodNotify to make up for the missing multicolor LED in recent phones (6T didn't have one either) and while I'd like a few more customizations, it's pretty awesome.
For the first time in several phones I stuck with Messages instead of using my beloved Textra. I'm still getting used to things (including notably less customizable font sizes) but the benefits of Messages going forward probably outweigh the losses.
The one thing I had to ditch pretty quickly was the Google Launcher home screen. I went back to Nova Launcher within days; I just couldn't handle the "basic-ness" of the built in Launcher. That's less about the phone than anything else but I mention it all the same.
One ongoing thing: the phone is usually warm. My 6T only heated noticeably when I was doing something really intensive with it. The P6 warms up just sitting there with the screen on. Still, I get good battery life so I'm not worrying about it.
Overall I'm pleased with my purchase and recommend the phone to folks coming from the OnePlus line. Not sure if I prefer it to the other phone I considered (8T, for $200 less), but I'm happy enough I'm looking forward instead of backward.

Any other OPx users notice their OP-supplied charging blocks don't charge the Pixel? I have two of these. One from my OP3T and one from my OP6T. I believe them to be identical part numbers; I don't know which came with which phone as I've used them interchangeably since I got the 6T. Both charge either phone rapidly.
But, one of them slowly charges the Pixel 6, while the other just says "connected, not charging" when I plug it in. That's weird... the one that won't charge the Pixel will charge any other device, and so far all other chargers I've tried will charge the Pixel (albeit slowly).
I bought an Anker charger and an extra USBC to USBC cable, so I'm all good, I just thought this was a strange quirk and wondered if anyone else saw this.

How "root friendly" is the Pixel6 compared to the OP6? I don't usually install custom ROMs unless for emergency purposes. Simple root + module such as Magisk, AdAway, Maxlock, XprivacyLua, YT Vanced, InstaPrefs etc. Basically modules that improves app experiences, removes ads and some battery saver while we're at it.
Software update isn't important to me as they can be easily flashed. I usually have automatic updates TURNED OFF, as having it turned on will be a mess for a rooted device.

Not the most ideal fix but you could set up a Nova action --> sound setting.

Glad to hear this! BUT I am just afraid of major software issues. What I meant was in case of a major software issue like a sudden bricking etc.. at least OnePlus provides the MSMDownloadTool as the final option available...
Ah we shall see in the coming months, since the Pixel6 is still relatively new in the market and still unavailable to purchase in my country yet.

My op 3 and 6t charger, 9 pro 65w charger aren't charging my other devices as well. It charges my iPad very slowly. It appears to be connected to charger in my pixel but the battery percentage will still drop with the 9 pro charger lol. It seems to me that pd is not working on op chargers.

Pixel can usually be recovered with fastboot images if you're able to get into the bootloader as long as you have the OEM unlock switch on. You can do it easily with any Chromium based browsers.
As for the root friendly ness, it's about the same if you're not going to overclock or disable thermal throttling.

As long as the bootloader is unlocked, you can flash the factory images via fastboot. Of course, the platform tools need to be up to date and you need to be able to access the bootloader.
I'll hold my purchase of the Pixel 6 for now, until a stable recovery is released. God knows when it will be out, haha!
