When u go to edl mode through test point, sometime battery strip from main board should be remove to do it and then connect again
When i was setting up my device again to use, i realized fingerprint not working and device speaker volume was low in all system and third party apps also, i thought i damaged something on board
But no that was not the case
When u remove battery from board or maybe when u goto edl mode through test point
Phone needs some calibrations again
I found a video how to calibrate fingerprint
Goto About phone > all specs , click on kernal version 4/5 times it will goto cit settings, click on 3 dot menu and find "fod fingerprint calibration" and follow instructions
And "calibration speaker PA" for speaker clibration
I see many complains about low volume of mi 10 on google search but found no solution, hope this will help someone

1) When going to unlock my phone using the screen pattern, I've noticed that recently the screen rotates. As far as I remember, it has always been in portrait which is the easiest way to quickly unlock -- rather than waiting for it to rotate from landscape back to portrait so i get the pattern correct.
2) Every time I answer my phone it goes automatically to loudspeaker. I keep forgetting and I'll end up deaf. This is very annoying!
3) Sometimes I'll be playing a game or whatever and 'car mode enabled' (something like that) will appear. I click to deactivate it but I didn't actually do anything to activate it in the first place. Why does this keep happening?
Sounds to me (noobie) like it's constantly in car mode or something. How can I turn this off? It doesn't say anything in the notification bar about it.
Thank you.
It sounds like moisture in the microUSB connector. It has a known problem of putting the phone into Car Mode - calls are via loudspeaker.
I would do a Search on here about Car Mode problems. I think a bit of DW40 resolves the issue.

what firmware are you running on the phone?
It should not default to loudspeaker unless car mode is running, check setting phone to make sure that there is nothing is running that shouldn't.
If there is nothing turned on, then it you may have problem with your hardware.
What type of game are you playing, It sounds like during the game there maybe an extra button being pressed by accident.

See the attached pic.
Where do I look to see if it's in car mode or not? When it switches on there is usually a notification and I can deactivate it from there -- but the notification bar is empty and there are no unusual icons.
The game is called WordFeud, it's like scrabble.
Thanks for your help.
I searched the forum and can't find how to check car mode.
in another forum (androidpit) i found a hint to try "Dock No-Op" with this "car-mode-problem" :
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.megagram.docknoop
i dont know if it helps
Moreover you can also try out this:
1) factory reset (wipe all?)
2) flash original firmware!
3) take out the battery for an hour or two
4) power on
5) check if all is ok now
if yes:
6) flash whatever you want

Hello, my name is Dan, i am new in this forum and i hope i will not broke any rule.
i am a new owner of galaxy s3 I9300, and i noticed a strange bug with my phone\android system.
my power saving mode have 4 options: "cpu limit", "fps limit for the screen", "color limit for mail and internet", "disable vibration".
i wont to use only 2 of them the "cpu limit" and "color limit for mail and internet", because the fps limit is pretty noticeable and i love to see my screen moving smooth.
soo let's get to the problem: when i turn on the power saving mode, everything is ok, the cpu limit working, i can see it in cpu+temp v2, and the screen option working too, and ever tying move smooth because i disabled the fps limit in power saving mode.
but when i press the the close button on the right side of the phone and re enter to the home screen, the screen move like the fps limit option is on (but it's not) i need to turn off and turn on again the battery save mode to disable again the fps limit option.
important to say that if you go to battery save mode options the fps limit is always turned off.
it's really annoying me, because every time you come back to home screen from black screen(turning off the screen with the button on the right side) you need to turn off and turn on the power save mode.
if some one can help me it will be grate.
information about my phone:
stock international version
no root
*#1234# - ap:i9300xxblh3
cp:i9300xxlh1
csc:i9300xefblh2
didn't install any power saving programs, or something that will effect the system, only games and casual apps

Can't replicate the issue on mine.. maybe the firmware you are using has it, have you tried flashing another one?

i didn't try.
Did you turn on power save mode(with fps reduce turned off, it's the second option), then pressed the power button, and the home screen was not slow? the fps looks normal when i swipe between icons?
if you try too see the animation difference between the two state, then turn off the fps limit in power saving mode, and make the test again, and say if you had the problem.
you suggest me to flash new rom or go to the shop i bought the phone and make them fix it ?
p.s. if i record a video of the problem it will help understand me batter?
So I'm using the CM11 4.4 Kitkat on my Galaxy S4 and recently found out that my proximity sensor isn't working (when I dial the screen goes black and won't turn on until the call is over). I've read many threads about fixing it but I think it's broken. So all I want now is to disable it but there isn't such option in the Cyanogenmod. Is there anyway to disable it, like with a terminal or something?

with root explorer go to system/lib/hw and go all the way to the bottom to the last sensors file. its an so file. long press on it and open in text editor. somewhere in the page almost at the bottom you will see where it says ProximitySensor then on one of those line it should say mEnabled. just rename it to mDisabled, then reboot and the proximity sensor is fixed.

I know this is an old thread but qman66 you are AWESOME! Was going nuts trying to fix the proximity sensor problem. Ran the commands in terminal emulator that recalibrates the sensor, didn't work for me. Blasted the speaker with compressed air, also didn't work for me. But this method allowed me to disable the proximity sensor while still using an AOSP rom. I will send the phone in for warranty eventually, but I thought I was going to have to use a touchwiz rom until then (touchwiz has the option of disabling the proximity sensor in the call menu).
And I read like 5 or 6 different threads dealing with the Galaxy S4 proximity sensor issue and no one else posted this method before.

glad someone found this useful.
While this fixed the call locking problem, it also disables a lot of other hardware sensors. The only one I'd care about is the gyroscope for rotating the camera and watching videos full screen. Any solutions?

Yeah I noticed that, the best solution is to get the proximity sensor fixed in the end. Then you don't have to disable anything. If your lucky it doesn't even need to be replaced, just cleaned. For me I can live with no rotation, because the screen off during calls is a ridiculous PITA by comparison. Also apps can force landscape mode even with the gyroscope not working. I use force landscape for videos through mx player, and mango reader for manga.
I finally broke down and took the phone apart. There were no warranty stickers to break so assuming you don't mess up royally, it shouldn't effect your resale value. All it took was an eye glass screw driver and a q-tip. Once I was inside I tried the can of air first, but didn't help. Swabbed the back of the glass with the q-tip and that finally provided lasting relief.
i9100 proximity sensor doesn't work
Hi to all!
I have the issue with proximity sensor and didn't manage to find a solution in other similar threads!
The matter is that it is always stay as Released.
In the same time in test screen (*#0*#) there are changing reading for PROXIMITY parameter from 2 up to 240 with no ADC parameter at all. Please look for screenshots. PROXIMITY parameter changes its value when I move my finger in front of the sensor, but as I can understand Android doesn't recognize it because of ADC absence.
Moreover I tried to change proximity sensor for working one (from another phone), but it shows the same as mine (with no ADC readings).
After all I think it is software problem, but I don't know how to solve it. I flashed different firmwares (now it is XWMSE NeatROM v.6.4), but nothing helped.
Please assist! Thanks!

Changing the rom isn't going to do anything, even factory roms (I've tried it). If a replacement sensor doesn't fix it for you, then it's going to be hard to fix it yourself. All the posts I've seen so far have cleaned the sensor or replaced the sensor and fixed the problem. Otherwise people like me just turn the sensor off.
You were right, proximity software fix didn't help! But how is it possible to work in this (the same wrong) way with changed sensor? Can it be some main board hardware problem? But it doesn't look like this...
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Maybe somebody knows how to fix the issue???
Finally fixed
Thanks so much qman66 I have had problems with my proximity sensor on my JFLTEXX pretty much since I got it. Had been using the xposed disable proximity sensor module but xposed doesn't work with CM12. Your simple system tweak has given me use of my phone know call options again

Samsung S4 Active w LOS 15.1 (a&Droid 8.1) - how to disable HW sensor(s).
Hi All
Hope some here will help me stay afloat long enough to learn to surf by myself; bit of a noob in this wild ocean here (more of a 'fresh water/indoor pool' kinda dude I guess) - but trying to break out of tis little pond and learn to 'surf'. Anyway, to the point:
1. HW spec
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
GT - i9295
TWRP 3.3.0-0
Lineage 15.1 20180227 jactivelte
(sometimes with opengapps pico and addonsu15.1 but mostly just LOS and addonsu nothing else)
2. Have the sensors on phone covered up with black electrical tape - all but the notification light are covered and it's gonna stay that way - NOT negotiable!
Obvious Issue: Have the blank screen during phone call problem. Can end calls using power button but I need to use the keypad quite often so need the screen to stay on. How? Ideally want to (SW) disable most if not all hardware sensors - how?
Tried a few fixes but no luck, e.g.:
(a) adding 'the' fix/control many sensors apk no good as not suported under 8.1 (plus want to find out how to do manually myself not use 'hand outs').
(b) edit selected sensor etc ".so" (eg in system hw) files - so far not resulting in the disabled ProximitySensor.
So, I really want to hack this myself at cmd line level, am ok with that (many years IT ops/admin experience in 'fresh water commercial space'). Can mount system using TWRP then adb shell to connect and find and grep for stuff in files but cannot find setttings I need to change to disable sensors for good. Where to look/find more info?
What do I want to achive:
Make calls and have keypad stay on all the time or give me manual option to turn screen on/off with a hw button during call.
How:
I am happy to disable pretty much all sensors (proximity, gyro, compass etc) in system or firmware memory so that I am free from the overlords and really want to be able to use the keypad during calls - and have option to manually turn screen off/on during call would be cool.
Constraint:
Really want to do this from (a) cmd line or (b) edit code/recompile (learning curve) the LOS 15.1 or whatever to disable sensors for good. I will be using this old thing mostly for just call and txt not much else - and cannot be asked to buy an old Nokia handset.
Thanks,

I have a new e5 play from sprint. I need to turn off the always on display but do not seem to have that option I have the android 8.0.0 (Oreo?) ROM on it. Is there a good flash for this or some other way to do this.
Hi , in order to turn off Always On option go to Settings /Lock Screen and Security / Always On Display make a gray to turn off .
That's it I also recommend you to disable Fast cable charging in order to save your battery life and also from overheating doing fast charging .
To do that go to Settings/Device Maintenance/ press on battery icon , and now press on tree dots from the right corner and go to Advanced settings now Disable Fast cable charging...
Good luck : )
I do not have the option to turn that off on this phone. That is why I am trying to find out if I can add it by flashing a better ROM.
I'm close to having the phone perfect but these two still persist. There is a myriad of old options for Xposed and I was wondering if anyone has had success with any of them? I use the phone for a GPS unit on a cycle with a dynamo hub, so the waking up is annoying.
I've sorted the sound already, so there are two wake up conditions:-
1. power is enabled
2. battery reaches 100%.
Cheers, Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I can't help with Xposed, but I have a suggestion and a side question.
My suggestion : try IpBike (with IpBikeKey to unlock it).
The author of IpBike reads and answers e-mails. He is opened to new features if the idea is good.
If IpBike can't force the screen off (I never tested, as I don't charge my device as I cycle !), he may add the feature.
My question : is the PVG100 ANT+ capable ?
I use a Sony-Ericsson Xperia Active as a cycle computer (powered by IpBike), with ANT+ Speed, Cadence and Heart-rate sensors.
I would like to replace it with a PVG100E/EU, but the ANT directory does not list any Palm device.
Have a nice day !
Cobus.
Probably not, ANT is an extra cost for a manufacturer.
I found an open-source app which works. It's a bit old but still it does the job.
Basically it registers itself as an admin app so it can control the screen, then when a wakeup comes in it turns the screen back off. It's quick enough that the screen doesn't get a chance to come on. No root required.

Have you tried enabling "zen mode?" Zen mode keeps everything on the phone from waking I believe. I have tried it, but got annoyed when the wifi would cut out once I turned my screen off, because it would stop what I was listening to. Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but zen mode might be something to play around with.
To activate zen mode, the easiest way is probably through the app "setedit." Under "system" options, scroll to the bottom and change zen mode from 0 to 1.
