Anyone is having problem with that? Any way to change it instead of pressing volume up button with power to show me power options?
If you have the global version this is the way you saw that options. In the Chinese version it's showed the power options with just press the power botton.

when you long press on the power button you get the power menu. If I push the track pad wake fix here:

does a long press on the trackpad will show the power menu?
I made a mod for CM 10 that disables the capacitive buttons so the user can use GNex like on screen soft key nav.
I made a variation that also makes the home button the menu key. So pressing home brings up menu. The issue I have run into is when I mapped the Menu to home (menu and back are disabled) if you long press on the capacitive menu key it brings up recent apps. I cant seem to figure out how to disable the long press of that button.
If I disable all three buttons long press on menu doesnt work. It's only when I map the menu to the home button that it "enables" the long press on the capacitive menu button.
Anyone have any ideas?
I want to change how the power button functions and I need some help on where to start or for someone to tell me it's not possible.
The power key works like this,
press -> Turn screen off
long press -> Tablet options menu appears
20 sec press -> Turn off tablet
And I want to flip the press and long press functions so the power key works like this,
press -> Tablet options menu appears
long press -> Turn screen off
20 sec press -> Turn off tablet
I was looking at files in /system/usr/keylayout but don't know if I'm on the right track or how to find out key codes for long presses.
Any help is appreciated.
The title says all, fact is that I find pretty irritating that the power button doesn't do the only thing it should do, any way to fix it? Maybe I'm missing something in the settings?
I use it for "ok google".
To turning off the phone instead, I resolved using Macrodroid app ((( https://play .google. com/store/apps/details?id=com.arlosoft.macrodroid&hl=en_GB ))) and set a button widjet on screen (or on the collapse title o wherever you want) with when I trigger it star action "power options". Working without root certified.
Done
Settings > Additional Settings > Power Button > Press and hold power button > Power Menu
So if the phone is locked, anyone without the password or proper authentication can turn on the phone then hold the power button and shut it down.
Other phones ask you to unlock the phone in order to do that so that unauthorized people can't mess with your phone.
Any help on how I can secure my device?
Thanks
It's very standard behaviour in Android phones, long press of the power button shows up the power menu with the usual "Power off" , "Reboot" and "Emergency" even if the phone is locked.
Double press the power button also usually open the default cam app (and anyone can take pics without even unlocking the phone)
If you want to disable this you can go to the settings and disable the long press power off option and the double press option
: Settings -> Advanced -> Smart Key : Disable double press and Disable press&hold
But be aware if you disable the press&hold option the only way to reboot the Zenfone 9 will be from Power icon located in the bottom right of the completely expanded notifications panel
Also if you hold power + vol down for 12s (short is screenshot) it will do a force reboot. There is a combination for almost all android phones to do this
