1. See you can surely flash stock firmware there is no Risk unless and until you flash 4.4.2 and update it to 4.4.4 if you do it you'll most probably HardBrick your phone so my recommendation is to flash 4.4.4 or 5.1 and never update your phone via updater...
2. And yes you'll have to flash Twrp.img after flashing stock firmware as flashing firmware change your recovery to stock.
3. Yup motoboot.img is needed to flash.
4. Refer to the batch file I've attached.
Unlock the device's bootloader and have it installed in the custom rom. I want to install stock rum now.but, the flashtool application does not recognize the software and does not install stock rom.
Does zip software downloaded from XperiaFirm be flashing directly with twrp?
Thanks,some english,google translate
It seems there's still no fully working custom recovery to sideload the firmwares from https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/download/
How do you flash firmware updates on Joyeuse? I don't want to flash MIUI again.
Basically, I've searched for this question but no concrete answer to be found. I am following a rooting tutorial and it says to flash stock firmware through Odin and then flash TWRP.
I have found the stock firmware for my country (Android 8), but other cell carrier than mine, and the phone is currently running Android 9.
Can I just flash TWRP without flashing a stock firmware beforehand, or is it necessary to flash a stock firmware first, and if so, what about the different carrier and a previous Android version?

Before flashing TWRP, it is a good idea to flash the latest firmware to get the latest version of the modem, which will be useful for use with custom ROM.
Carefully read the TWRP flashing instructions so there are no surprises.
If you don't want to change the original firmware, then flash TWRP.
beware, latest firmware may bring new security updates such as vaultkeeper or RMM protection to your device.
you can flash different CSC with modded Odin (not recommended) but you can't downgrade bootloader.
use Samloader or Bifrost to download from official Samsung server for your region.
