Hello I found one of these xt2117-4 lying in the middle of the street no Sim card tray and the phone was still powered on and unlocked when I found it but I let the screen lock and haven't any idea how to locate an owner. Seems like they tossed out the window driving.
Anyways was wondering if this phone would frp lock if I factory reset. Would like to just root and use for project phone if nothing else. If it would lock then can I bypass that by flashing a custom rom/image
Yeah, FRP will kick in if the device is reset with an active user with Google account logged on.
If this is only device you have logged on to with Google and have found yourself locked out with no recovery options available, you may want to look into FRP bypass methods. There might be a simple solution or there may be a great way to induce migraines on yourself.

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if it was possible to reset the unlock pin, I understand it brings a little forgot pattern thing up if you use an unlock pattern, however it doesn't do this if you use a PIN afaik. I changed my pin because my little brother had figured it out and I didn't want him to screw around with it, but then forgot it when I tried to get into it later. Panicked for a while and then managed to get in with the bypass lock screen app in the marketplace. Before that I had tried entering the wrong pin like 80 times in hopes it would let me enter my google account or ask for a PUK. Unfortunately it didnt so I gave up and tried like 70 different combinations of what I thought it would've been. Now I've also used that disable lock screen app from the market to make sure I dont get locked out of it again, however I was wondering if it's possible to now reset the pin now I'm into the phone. If i can I'd like to change it to a pattern so I don't end up in this predicament again, I assume I have to factory reset, and if so is there a way to do a complete backup that includes everything except say settings, so it would manage to reset the PIN. It would be a huge headache to factory restore and do all of my customizations over again, not to mention re-downloading every single app.
Thanks,
Ninja
Now that you are in...
Can't you just go into settings>Location and Security and select pattern?

First of all, I know this has been posted before regarding other devices, but I couldn't find anything about this phone.
Here's the deal, my friend passed away on Friday night, and suicide was highly suspected. His parents very much want to be able to unlock his phone and find any reasons that may point to suicide. They have exhausted all of the pattern lock attempts possible, so now it's stuck at the recovery option.
The phone is definitely on stock, and most likely hasn't been rooted. When I try to unlock it, I can see the actual homescreen in the background before the password recovery screen pops up. The phone is still active, so I can call it and text it if that can help bypass the lock screen in any way.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Wellp, none of the glitch methods I found online seemed to work. But I did manage to get into the phone.
I realized that Firefox/Chrome/Whatever will probably have his password for gmail saved. So his parents let me on his laptop and I managed to find his gmail password in the saved passwords and reset his pattern lock.
I'm posting this in a bunch of different places just in case someone has an answer for me:
I'm so frustrated. I set some stupid new pattern passcode on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) yesterday because I wanted to try it out and see how it worked. It was a method where you swipe on the screen in a series of directions to unlock it. Now I've either forgotten it or it's not working and I only have two attempts left before my phone automatically erases all data on itself. I cannot do a factory reset and lose all of my data, that's just not an option for me. I've tried unlocking it with "Ok Google" which I do have enabled on my phone, but it didn't work. I've tried going to device manager in my google account and locking the phone but it won't override the password I already have on my phone so that doesn't work. Apparently my device wasn't registered in my Samsung account so Samsung can't remotely unlock my device. Verizon (my service provider) won't help me. The link that people online say should appear after too many attempts that lets me sign into my phone using the Google Account that it's linked to won't appear. The information that I've found online about how to "hack" my phone doesn't make any sense to me and requires me to download or already have installed all sorts of suspicious looking files/programs that I'm not willing to install onto neither my phone nor my computer. I'm just at a loss and really frustrated. What could be wrong? How do I fix this? Who can help me?
Check this , maybe it will works for you .

You might be out of luck. You won't lose any files just apps and settings if you factory reset.
This is why no one uses pattern unlock any more. Too many things that can go wrong.
Dear people,
my huawei mate 10 pro got stolen yesterday. Unfortunately I forgot my password for my google account, so I had to reset the password on my computer. There I could see that the mobile was last online on that day, when I was out. But since I had to reset my password with my second sim card, I wonder if I'm still able to locate it with my google account, since the passwords don't match anymore?
I had my mobile locked with a not so easy pin. I had installed Android 9 on it. How high are the chances the thief will unlock it, to get into my data? I activated remote erase, but as I said, the phone was not online anymore.
I also wonder about google's FRP. So when I have a google account on that phone, the thief won't be able to erase the data? But also, when he unlocks the pin and wants to erase the data, he won't be able to and likely sell it with the data on it?
Lot of questions. Sorry. Would be nice to hear from you!

anyone?
Hi
Your device data probably got erased by a factory reset. A thief would not waste time trying to unlock the phone if it's locked. However, if the phone had enabled usb debugging before you lost the phone, He could remove the password though a pc and have access to your data. It depends on how far you got with the phone. ( if you tampered with it or not).
If you bought a new phone and you are willing to modify it in order to ensure security, you could install a custom recovery such as TWRP and password lock it to prevent factory reset. (That's what i do at least).
I put a pattern lock on my phone and immediately forgot it, so im locked out of my phone. I read on the internet that there should be an option to reset the password by providing the google account information, but this doesnt show up. I must have entered my password almost 20 times and now it makes me wait an hour each time I want to enter a new pattern and only gives me 3 tries before making me wait an hour. But I see no option to reset my pattern.
I found another site that said go to google findmyphone and lock the phone and it will eventually give me access if I enter my account information. So I went to findmyphone on google and there were 3 options, 1. Make noise, 2. Secure Phone, and 3. Factory Reset Phone. So I clicked on 2 to secure the phone, but I think it logged the phone out of google and now google findmyphone says "can't reach device", wtf????
My question is this:
Is Huawei pattern lock broken since it doesnt have the option to reset password or are all android phone like this?
Because the only options I see are to enter my pattern, to make an emergency call, or to go back. There is no reset/recover password option
google says my phone is Huawei Nova. Apparently the model is was-al00. The phone had Android 8.0 and it was up to date with security updates.
I did multiple searches trying to find more information about this but couldnt find anything. I did find an xda thread about someone who forgot their pattern and also forgot their google account information but that was from 5 years ago https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/lock-pattern-recovery-email-huawei-y360.3226967/. Maybe the sanctions america put on Huawei have something to do with this?
Hey there! Have you found the solution?
