you could also ask here: https://zh.ifixit.com/Device/LG_V60_ThinQ

Considering that the fingerprint unlock function is based within a certain partition, chances are yes, it would fail.

No,it will not fail if you need to swap the main board.I have swapped 3 different carrier boards in a V60 I have and the fingerprint always works afterwards.

Interesting. I had always thought that the fingerprint was stored in the persist partition.

swapping boards won’t kill the reader as the reader is same for all models. however you need to record your fingerprint again of course

Yes,you'll have to recalibrate maybe. Most of the time that's not even required.

[P] HW issue, does not detect USB disconnect

My Xperia P detects a USB connection fine, but doesn't detect the disconnection. For example the charging light continues to glow after unplugging. Only way to reset it is to turn it off and remove the internal battery connector.
Are there any HW experts here? I'm quite good with a soldering iron if some component is broken. It's a really annoying error.

Sorry, I forgot to mention it. Because the error remains regardless of firmware. Bootloader locked and never tried custom firmware. Right now on 6.1.B.0.544

Never mind custom ROMs, have you tried .54 or .75?
Could be HW problem.

I am not saying rooting caused it, just that if you root you lose your warranty unless you unroot. Since you are out of warranty, i think you need to pay as xda does not fix hardware problems

The hardest part is to find the source of the error, could just be a broken trace. I thought someone might be able to point me to the correct location on the pcb.
In Europe you can buy standard components from for example farnell or elfa. If it's more product specific, ebay is an option, or a spare broken phone.
It's a hobby and I've fixed both big and small electronics, for example iPhone fpc:s. But tiny smd components can be hard, if not impossible without the correct tools.
If you don't have anything constructive to say regarding this thread I propose that you send me a pm instead. BTW, your signature is huge.

[Q] Flashing US Cellular to Verizon (Not Pre-Paid)?

Hello all,
A friend of mine is mailing me his old Note 2 from US Cellular in hopes of helping me replace my HTC Droid DNA which is on Verizon. My question is if I can flash the Note 2 over to Verizon to replace my current device? Not sure if his phone takes a SIM card or not. I am also not on a Pre-Paid plan. Hope someone can help me out with this. Thanks in advance.

You would still have to get Verizon to activate it which they seldom do with devices that are not theirs.

To be honest it would t matter either way. You could flash it but the min they check the esn and it's not in their system then it will be a fight.
When I last worked for Verizon we were trained on what to look for and to flat out deny any device not in their system.
I would flash it first but like said it won't matter much either way.

Is there a way to trick the system? Maybe find a way to get a good esn? I'm really trying to get out of this DNA (worst phone I've ever had).

They are good. Because it would take you using a number already in their system and the first time they do a system sweep your busted.

Has anyone managed to unlock LTE bands?

Hello, fellow Redmi 3 owners!
Has any of you managed to successfully unlock LTE band 20 on this glorious device? I did see a few threads on that explaining the progress of achieving this, but as I understand it involves modifying hex values and those threads are usually explaining how to unlock bands on specific phones.
Thanks for your help!

Ive tried the regular stuff (changing nvram value, enabling band20 etc) but that doesnt work unfortunately. There is something else missing and ive personally been pursuing different ways to accomplish this but no cigarr yet..
The hardware supports band20 though so its something software related (either kernel or inside non-hlos.bin)
JFYI, I normally have band20 coverage at home and I have another phone (z3c) that supports band 20 so ive verified it aswell..

Yeah precisely ☺
Apparently there's another kind of software block either by Xiaomi or Qualcomm. Mi5 users face the same problem. Maybe with a custom kernel/ROM the possibility will be better as on one Samsung (S5 maybe), there was some protection found in the kernel.

I also did try multiple guides. Even tried the guide for cyanogen yureka phone (forgot how its is exactly called) which has a similar SoC (snapdragon 615) - still no luck.

Doesnt work, changing the value in nvram with qpst is only 1 roadblock. Some say antenna is the roadblock but I call bull**** on that one, I personally believe that the "lock" or solution to unlock is within NON-HLOS.bin but its no easy task
do u means h/w issues, some RF amplifier ???

No, not on this phone particulary. Both RF, AMP and CPU supports band 20 so hardware should not be an issue at all. Its a software issue where its possible that data/information to utilize band 20 simply is not there, again in the NON-HLOS.bin file

I had tried so many ways. I flashed many roms .zip thru TWRP, and up rom .kdz ( and .TOT) thru LGUP. But it didn't work too.
And I don't know that is the problem with the hardware or softwware??? Cause the second screen works perfectly when the main screen ons.

I solved this problem by checking PINs on mainboard for the second Flex Cable for LCD of LG V10, see the video, READ comments here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpeVAqgU94s, so in my case one of three PINs was folded little, so one PIN contact didn't touch the second Flex Cable and this caused the problem...

Which Display manufacturer? Samsung or Huaxing

Hi guys,
I've broken my Display from my Mi 10 5g.
There a 2 different types of displays. One produced by Samsung (Version S) and one by Huaxing (Type C)
I've tried to find out with App Device Info HW, at Point LCM is: j2_p2_1_38_0c_0a_dsc_cmd.
With bugreport at line msm_drm.dsi_display0=qcom
Under version information is nothing noted for display.
Maybe somebody could help me here, because I can still use my phone and want to buy a new display and then disassembly.
Cheers, Andy
This is Samsung screen if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, use App Device Info and look at the item LCM.
My number was j2_p2_1_38_0c_0a_dsc_cmd and it's the Samsung panel.
If you have the other one there should by another number here, but I'm not sure (XX)
j2_p2_1_XX_0c_0a_dsc_cmd I think it's 42 or so.
But when you buy this one:
Aliexpress
you won't have this problem.
Hope I could help you.

Yes my phone is rooted.
I've got it from log too, so you can generate a log file with the service and feedback application and read it out from there.
I would read the file from a PC because it's very big.
Can you give me some instructions how?
Which log do I generate and how do I download it?

I'm sorry, I was away a few days.
I've made a mistake, I tokk the informations from the log generated by twrp recovery.
There's another possibility, you can make a picture with another phone (or use a looking glass) to see if the pixels are diamond shaped, if they are it's samsung.
If you want to take the "secure" way, just buy the c-version with the conversion board. If you had huaxing, the display will work immediatly, if not just apply the board plus it's the cheaper one ;-)
mine (( j2_mp_42_02_0b_dsc_cmd )) is huaxing or samsung? from post before, i can see that mine is not 38, but 42, which means its huaxing?
