Question How to remove voicemail notification and never see it again? - Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

Not sure how it happened, but someone left me a voicemail on at&t and now phone shows this annoying "new voicemail" notification. I can not turn it off because it is created by "phone services", and samsung prohibits me from disabling voicemail notifications. I don't have access to at&t voicemail, and I don't want to. I just want to shut it down and never see it again.
I'm starting to have buyers remorse for getting this piece of junk which force feeds me with stuff I don't wanna eat
Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, u my only hope

Well I'm not Obi Wan Kenobi and the only force I can use is sudo. Try notifications off by Giorgi on the Google play store.

do blocked numbers still go to voice mail?

do they? 10 chars
The few (free) call blockers that i've tried to use, yes, they do go to voicemail. There is one I havent tried yet, that is a paid app, that supposedly hangs up the call before it reaches voicemail. Its called "Extreme Call Blocker Droid" and has a 4.5 star rating on the android market. Cost is $6.99 USD. I've not personally bought and tested this app yet, but it sounds like it works very well. You might consider trying that. - hope this helps.
Here is the market link
You should try Google Voice. Besides all of the other features offered, you can block callers from your voicemail, you can have them forwarded to another number, have the caller told they are blocked, or have it act like the number has been disconnected. You can even record personalized greetings for individual numbers.

I definitely second the Google voice recommendation. Whenever I flash a new ROM/do any kind of wipe, it's the first thing I work to get running.
To be honest, I haven't even dabbled with all the more advanced features, and it definitely beats the old fashioned way of pressing all sorts of 1's and 7's and 9's.

I use extreme call blocker and it gives the choice to send to voicemail, auto answer and immediately hang up, or have a pretender answer the phone. Also blocks sms and mms, sends a text back with block message of your choice, and will also save the blocked text message if you want. This is in my opinion the best call blocking app. Well worth the money.
If you are talking about blocked numbers through AT&T's blocking services, then no, blocked calls do not go to voicemail.

thanks for te replys guys.
No, but I think that depends upon the ROM. I ran into the issue when I gave my wife my N1. Even though I blanked it with a fresh CM install it somehow had my cell blocked so I couldn't call her but I could text her. I had AT&T scratching their heads until I found a lead on some N1 forums and tracked down the block list on the N1 to clear my number out.
The error message was given was a network error saying I didn't have permission to call!! It was mildly amusing once all said and done.

[Q] T-Mobile Surveys

I keep getting these annoying spam-like things coming to my phone, telling me a I can get am iphone or other stuff if I just take a survey. They are not sms's, they show up in the notification area as a T-Mobile Survey. How do I stop it?
They are called push notifications. Get Adson from the market to fond the offending app and delete it. There are a few other apps on the market that do this too.

[Q] Managing Notifications

Hello.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4 with AOKP, but I think this applies to Android JB in general.
So, I spend quite a bit of time at my computer. Most of the time, I have my phone right next to it. So, when I get a new e-mail (Gmail), I get a notification on the phone, but I usually see it first on Gmail via webmail. The thing is, I wish once I mark that e-mail (or all new mail) as READ, the phone should stop flashing the notification LED.
Same thing goes for Google Talk (Chat). I chat with people I work with all day long. When I get new message, the phone notifies me, but the conversation is long over. So, since I replied on my PC, the notification should go away.
I know I could turn off notifications, but I like them. They're just not very intelligent.
Does anyone know of apps, ways, or tricks to tame these?

Pushbullet for notifications on your TrueSmart

Hi Folks. First of all, I'm new here. I just created a profile to suggest you the following:
Pushbullet; it's an app that allows you to send and receive notifications, links, files, etc, between devices.
So, I was thinking if maybe somebody knows a way around to use this app as a substitute for the Osmart Companion, that doesn't work so well and also depends completely on bluetooth. I'm using it right now to manually send stuff from my smartphone to the TrueSmart, but I just found out that Pushbullet now supports Tasker integration, what makes me think that, if you know how, it is possible to create a profile on Tasker that allows you to automatically send a notification to your TrueSmart whenever you receive a SMS, for example.
However, despite being a huge fan of android and apps in general, my programming skills sucks really bad, even at Tasker, which I guess must be programming for beginners.
Has anyone already tried to do something related? Please let me know.
Thanks!
I haven´t try that app, but I´m using 'Notisync' and, at least for me and until now, it´s working. The only one thing I don´t have got: automatically unlock the screen (I´m using Oclock) and show a window with the notification content in. For this, I´m using 'Notify me!' app. It turns on the screen, but not unlock it (it only shows the notification content if the screen is already on). I continue investigating .
I hope this helps someone.

I have tried many apps and so far at least this one tells me when someone is calling, i cant get it to alert me of texts though, i use hangouts as my text service default app but i even tried the standard messages app and it still doesnt allow the texts to go through, did you have to do anything special for the texts?
as for pushbullet i started messing with it the other day but all it does it notify my watch that theres a message waiting on my phone i still need to look at the phone to see/reply to the message.
figured out a way with pushbullet and tasker to show who the text is from and what the message said, now if only there was a way to reply

I don´t use SMS and never try that. But I tried an app called 'Tablet talk' that can syncronize SMS and phone calls (even when you receive phone call, it shows a window showing the contact photo and bottons to interact with that call). I configured the phone as 'phone' and the watch as 'tablet'. The problema I had was the same: it doesn´t unlock the Oclock screen.

Yeah i've been a user of tablet talk for a while and it is a good app just looking for others since i dont like always having to reconnect them together.
Hey everyone,
I contacted the developers of Push Bullet a few weeks ago when I got my TS. He indicated that it was a space they wanted to occupy for wearables and tablets. They have a number of things they're rolling out for their primary app first, but it's on the slate for the future.

how did you guys get it to install? Side load? It wont let me install from the play store since it says it is incompatible with device. I love pushbullet, and would love to use it with the TS
Yeah side loaded from dropbox.
sent from my note 3 running beans.
For sms I have been using google voice, hangouts and the XVoice+ Xposed plugin. here's how it works:
1) I have moved most people to use mt GV number to reach me as I have several PH numbers so step one is socialize the GV ph number.
2) XVoice+ forces all sms through the google voice app
3) in the google voice app > Settings > Sync and Notifications set recieve text messages to "via the messaging app.
4) if you want to use hangouts go through the steps to make it the default SMS/MMS client otherwise you can use what ever SMS app you want.
default result is I get the same conversation on my phone as on my PC as on my watch. For me this works out well.. the only issues i have are broadcast messages that are short message based like twitter to sms. Google Voice will not support these messages.

Can't stop "NetworkLocationService" and "Google Messaging Service"

Can't stop "NetworkLocationService" and "Google Messaging Service"
Both of these (NetworkLocationService & Google Messaging Service) are constantly running. It says "This service was started by its application". Any way to tell which application starts these services? When I stop them, they pop right back up (within 30 seconds or so). I read through some other posts and see that if Google location services, or the Standalone GPS services are active then the network location service will also be active. However on my phone (Droid 3, Android 2.3.4), I have all my location services turned off (Google, GPS, Standalone, and VZW (Verizon) all off).
The network location is from your carrier it is needed by the phone apps. The second is your messaging. Both are tied together.
So are you saying that even if I have my Verizon messaging off that service still needs to be running? Also, what messaging are you referring to? MMS messaging? If it's email, I don't use a gmail email account.

Yes the mms messaging. Those 2 will always be running.
Ok zelendel, I got you (and thanks for the responses, but I I'm still confused. I also noticed that there was a "Google Play Services" process loading as well (and had a ton of services associated with it). I uninstalled it and now these two (NetworkLocationService and Google Messaging Service) don't pop right back up! However, they do seem to reappear after a few hours. So after reading your response, I stopped them and then have both, sent and received, mms messages and they haven't popped back up yet. Is there anyway to tell specific function causes them to reload?

You would have to have a running log cat to see what's causing those to activate. Odd that Google play services activated the messaging one. Unless it's parts of Google's cloud messaging feature. Network location is understandable as that tells it which store to load for country based apps.

Is this from the adb logcat command? I have a log file and it does show plenty of NetworkLocationService lines, but I have no idea what I'm looking at... Can you give me some additional advice on what specific steps I should take to figure this out?

I thought this was a bit odd myself. All of this is interesting and has raised my curiosity level.
Thanks again for all your help!
