Oppo A96 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks.
Need root on my OPPO A96. Oppo CPH2333.
i can't find anything here and on the web dubious sites only.
Help pls

I also have the a96, its such a nice phone, but those ads are driving me crazy.
Unfortantly since is a new phone and not a popular one, there is not much work done on it.
I'm pretty shore the boot loader is locked down hard too.
I think the only way to root it atm is with Kingroot, you will need to uninstall the phone manger anti-virus software over USB before you run it, since it blocks Kingroot.
For now Ill wait for android12 (if it ever comes) then ill try to root mine.
Ive used Kingroot years ago on my experia SX (Jap-version) phone and had no problems. Kingroot uses bruit force to root you phone connecting to the internet and goes thu different methods.
Is there a way to just inject the hosts file without root?

any updates?

I Found this one here.. but not tasted and idk if it's secure or not.

Seems legit. It's for the China 5G model. Is there any way to root the global 4g model? Got mine in New Zealand from a retailer. Not off AliExpress

[Q] Coolpad Arise, emphasis on ROOT

I bought a Coolpad Arise (edit: Model 5560S) today at Kroger for $10 (and got 500 fuel points doing so). This phone blew me away. The proc, and gpu are better than I expected, it runs 4.4.2, and it has an SD card slot. Now to the issue:
I've been trying to get root on the device but haven't had any luck. Towel(with multiple modstrings) and Kingo didn't do anything. I'm ready to take the next step. I'm an Android developer and feel like I should help get root on this phone. I've tried to emulate the asec venerabilities to no avail. Is anyone else interested in rooting the arise? I'm not sure where to go from here but would like to have root since the stock os seams to be 99% aosp.
Pointers would also be greatly appreciated.
I'm no Dev but would love root as well. Bought 2 last night for stocking suffers for my kids. As you said you can't beat this for 10 bucks. And BTW I got 1000 points which surprised me figured I'd only get 500 for the initial, and considering I usually fill up with 20 plus gallons this phone literally was free with the discount I'll get! Thinking of going to get a third now!
Root would be great
There must be a LOT of these out there with the recent sale(s) on this model.
I'm impatiently waiting for this thread to get some action. I've tried everything. Even some Chinese program called permroot.apk that apparently works with coolpads, but I had no idea what I was doing since I can't read Chinese.

Do you have the drivers yet? Couldn't you just unlock the bootloader and load TWRP and an AOKP image that's rooted already?
Just got the arise to play around with. Still can't root device.

Feel free to tell us how to do that.

I still haven't been able to get root.. I went out and bought another one thinking that the system update might have locked something down (still couldn't root). Since I have second one, I'm going to try some more invasive options.
CoolPad Arise Needs Root Quick
I have recently recieved the coolpad arise and really want to figure out a way to root it. So thats why i have joined this forum thread. XD
Found this by accident, maybe it'll help get root... if you remove the coolpad battery, and plug in a usb data cable from your computer to the phone, the coolpad screen lights up and says "fastboot mode". I tried some of the usual fastboot commands, ie, oem unlock, but nothing happened, it says "waiting for device".
I bought two more of these the other day (today might be the last day for the sale so stock up).

I bought 4 of them, if I wanted there is 1 more there at the store still, lol

Unroot?
I rooted my coolpad 5560s and now the notifications and screenlock aren't working so i was wondering if there is a way you could unroot.:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Successful root
 I successfully rooted my coolpad arise after multiple attempts with different software. iRoot, Towelroot, vRoot, OneClickRoot, Chainfire's Root App, and Kingoroot all failed.
Someone made a root toolkit for the coolpad arise, but it failed.
I tried exploit apps to try to get root privs. They didn't work.
I then used Root Genius on a computer and successfully got root.
Do not take any updates before or after you root, because you might not be able to root.
To root enable adb on the phone by going to settings > About Device > and tap build number several times until you get confirmation that you're a dev.
Run root genius, and plug in the phone. Click the root button. If phone prompts to allow the pc access, allow it. It will root the device. You must have a good oem cable and good usb port when rooting. If root fails try again on a different pc or with a different cable. Also while rooting you need internet.
I would recommend deleting the touchpal keyboard and freezing log2file and system updates.

Will this Root Genius work with Scratch Wireless ROM? After I root, can I make a ROM dump and backup the Scratch Wireless ROM?
Oh Crap! Now I'm sort of bricked!
I was starting to get some instability (probably due to many device tweaks and the device being almost full, not from Root Genius) on my phone and I went to flash it back to stock for a re-root. This time I gave the root package another try (it didn't work for me the first time perhaps because of maybe some .net framework issues). This time it worked after powering on I followed the instructions and I went through and checked if every app worked. The browser and camera default apps did not work at all. They would open and force close. So, I decided to retry to root toolkit and my device never got pass the "Powered By Android" screen and it wouldn't boot into stock recovery. So I used the Coolpad Official Flash Tools (YGDP) and flash it back to stock. The device didn't work either. I would get the same screen and I was unable to boot into stock recovery.
Please help as I use this device as my everyday device, app dev device, and at my college classes. It is also my primary source for accessing the internet (I use the hotspot often).
Phew, got it fixed by flashing the original stock rom with the company tools.

Help! Root lg k5

Help me!!!!
Anyone know how to root lg k5??
Model: X220
There seems to be no way to root it yet. I've tried both KingRoot and KingoRoot at least, in their latest versions, both PC and apk, and no method is available yet.
What chipset?
Sent from my VFD 700
GSMArena lists Mediatek MT6582.
Someone has news on this? I've been trying new and old versions of Kingroot (b367), KingOroot and Root Genius, both PC and apk, and none of them can find a viable rooting method yet.
I've read that LG K4, however, with his Mediatek 6735 chipset, has been rooted.
Recently I've tried Kingroot 5.0.1 and the process seems to be able to reach 100% after a few tries. The Kingroot program then acts as if the phone was rooted, but the option it gives is to "Repair" the root, and that won't do. Also, Root Checker says it isn't rooted.

Hello all. As I say in this post I try that method but it wont works for me. So i try KingRoot (KingRoot, not KingOroot) and I can say that this phone is under the requests. I don't know how much it take for the devs to finalized it (there's few phones models before this). Btw good to know. Maybe try a look time by time using the Kingroot pc tool, that gives you more informations compared to .apk one.

Any root methods for LG Risio 2?

I was able to find a 16GB Internal Storage phone for a very low price today, which was the LG Risio 2. However, I haven't been able to use Kingroot, Framaroot, Kingoroot, or any other root methods for said phone. My reason for wanting root access is to block ads on the YouTube app, which is what I used to be able to do on the BLU R1 HD (before having to sell it for personal reasons).

I'm waiting for the phones to arrive at Bestbuy...
But from what I've been reading, it appears the LG's are tricky to root and could brick even by using the one-click root methods...
I am also interested to know if any methods work on this phone as all the info found by searching seems to indicate that nothing roots this phone yet ?!?
Getting the unlock code & unlocking it was incredibly easy - but it really does need to be rooted.
Thanks.

I didnt even attempt to root these because they are daily drivers for 2 family members.
I did disable a few apps though and installed an App2SD app to move some non-important apps to the 32gb sd card, since the 16gb internal storage gets full quickly.
Mine is not going to be used as the 'daily driver' - I just got it to replace a flaky Blu phone so as to have some GSM coverage on those few times it is needed.
There are root-only apps that I like to use on all my Android devices so I hope there is some method that someone knows that will work on this model.
Thanks.

Just got one today and in the developers section you can enable oem unlocking however I won't be messing around too much as it is my son's main phone atm.
I know this thread is like a year old, but I still have not been able to pin down a working method to gain root access on my unlocked LG Risio 2 M154.
Hoping someone has some good news to share about this ?!?
Thanks.

Oppo a73 (CPH1725) cannot find anyway to root

I recently bought an Oppo a73 (CPH1725) and have looked every where on how to root this thing but I am unable to find anything at all.
I've tried Kingroot, Kingoroot, Oppo tools and a few other seriously sketchy one tap methods and am now questioning why I am putting myself through the torment
If anyone has any info on how to or if it's even possible to root this damned phone!
If you need any info on it, just tell me and I will supply you what I can.

I've been trying to root this for a while too, I'm wondering if its possible to use CPH1723 files, not game enough to risk it on my daily driver though.
I also got stuck trying to port twrp for the MT6763 / Helio P23.
Couldn't find the latest stock rom.

Is root possible for the ZTE N9517?

I know this is a very low-cost phone, and not a lot of people would even have it, but there is no information I can find about rooting it online at all. It also seems to have absolutely zero threads on xda-developers, so this will be the first one. It runs 7.1.1 and has the security patch from November 1st, 2017. I've tried all the available root methods (Kingroot, Kingoroot, towelroot, framaroot, etc.) and none of them work. I know ZTE used to allow for bootloader unlocking, but I cannot reboot into bootloader mode (it just reboots normally) and I cannot access fastboot from recovery, FTM (Factory Test Mode), or EDL (Emergency Download) mode on this phone. It comes with a ton of bloatware, and it would be really great if it could be rooted, if anybody has any ideas.
I hate to say "bump", but bump.
OK, last try to bump.
One more bump. Sorry, I just can't find any information about this model online at all.
How many other people even have this phone?
N9517
There is currently no working root solution. There are many factors for successful root. You could try an app like KingRoot and see if it works. More than likely it will not because this device is protected everywhere. In other words, there is no write access necessary for the rooting procedure to be successful. You may also want to check YouTube because any solutions do show up there first.
