Hello, I'm using redmi note 4 SD and planning to unlock bootloader for custom rom. I heard that, in order to unlock bootloader you have to bind your MI account and device together using mobile data, so If i use my existing MI account with my redmi note 4 SD, could I use that same account on other MI device? as I'm planning to buy new phone as well and all my useful data are in my MI account.

Maybe need to perform a full ROM flash via SP flash tool.

Trust me, the device even after it is fully wiped with TWRP or SP Flash Tool will still remember the previous owner's password. I wiped and flashed the global stable for about a few times now and somehow the device still remembers my account, prompting me to enter my password. Maybe you can find a way to bypass the setup wizard or something. Or maybe you just disable Wi-fi at the start of the setup wizard, that may work.
Yeah buddy...same to me..firstime turn off wifi when i setup...but whenbi insert sim card...my phone always remember find device...

I've got this Xiaomi Redmi 3 that I bought over the internet a year a go. I noticed the software was going kinda clunky and I could not reset to factory settings or flash the image so I applied for permissions on xiaomi to get the boot loader unlocked and I received an sms saying they allowed it however for some reason I keep getting different messages.
when I use the official unlock tool from xiaomi it passed the account permission verification then I click unlock and then it says "Current account is not bound to this device"
I don't know what else to do... Any ideas?
You must the only same account in mobile and in MiUnlock on PC!
1) Mi Account must be bound on both phone and Mi Unlock.
2) Receiving approval message doesn't mean you can directly go unlock. I need about a week after binding account to the device before being able to unlock.

When I want to unlock it, I see MI account that is not mine.
I tried with MADtool, Miko tool, MIflash.... it works to the point where I insert SIM card or connect to wifi, after that I recieve message again -This device is locked -
MIUI veriosn is 10

So whose device is it? Second hand device?
If this is a second hand device, previous owner will have to provide you with his MI account login credentials.
Hi guys,
It's my wife phone and its too lagging now.
The issue here is Mi Account is already tagged and we forgot the email id/mobile no linked with that MI id.
So, we are not able to request Bootloader unlock for this account.
And also, we are not able to sign out from that account also.
Will factory reset will help me to add a new account so that i can request bootloader unlock?
