Hi!
Is there anymore similar app like Link2SD ?
Reason for asking this is that I am using DJI Mimo with OM3 and that app has been done stupid like hell. So... it doesn't allow save recording data to the external sd-card and basically it is useless (f.e. timelapse videos) because there is no enough space at internal memory...
I am considering to root my S20+ and start using Link2SD (similar supported) app for forcing data to the ext-sdcard.
However I 've a feeling that this app is not supported anymore and it is quite difficult to find similar app. I used this at past and it was worked well.

I have 500 Mb of free space on internal storage and when install or update any app sent me a error notification of low memory internal storage.
I try to wipe cache and dalvik cache and reflashing the rom but don't work.
Help me please!

Try reflashing the Rom but wipe data also.

Get rid of some huge apps or files (movies, audio, ...) on the internal storage.
Alternatively move them to the external SD card.

Samsung or Google in their wisdom have decided to not allow Google Play apps to be moved to the micro-SD card.

I was talking about movies/music since (at least for me) that's what eats up all the disk capacity =)
If you're rooted you can bypass the App2Sd restriction by using the app "Directory Bind"
By the way; App2SD was implemented to be able to move apps from the app-specific storage (/data/) to the internal storage (/sdcard) since the first one was far smaller. Since the S3 shares the SDcard-Storage with the app-storage capacity, it's no longer needed. Or so they thought.

Forgive me. When you wrote, "huge apps or files (movies, audio, ...) " and wrote move "them", I had incorrectly assumed you meant move "huge apps or files (movies, audio, ...) " to the SD card
if you rooted, install lucky patcher (google it), then run it. it will automatically delete unused odex file in our system.
Hi, I'm currently running Firmware MediaPad ICS 4.0.3 HWMOD C232B005 which supposedly is pretty similar to stock. My problem is that the internal memory which apps are installed to, ae on the very same partition as the intenal sd card (mounted as /sdcard). Thus the andoird a2sd does not work, I get no "move to sd card option in Settings->Apps. With several games exceeding 500MB with the texture for the high resolution on the MediaPad, I need to be able to move some of them to SD. Also, I need the ames that store their data on /sdcard even if they shouldn't by Android standards (boo, Gameloft) to be stored on the REAL sdcard, whic is mounted as sdcard2. Preferably, I'd be able to do this without mucking about too much. Maybe the best option is to use CM10 if it's about ready for prime time? I guess it'll give me the choice of using /sdcard or /emmc as main storage. (Though it IS annoying CM by default incorrectly labels the sdcard as emmc and the internal memory as mmc - strictly opposite of defined standards for embedded devices.)

It's really easy, do this
settings > storage > set primary storage > SD card > restart tablet
all apps will be moved to external sd card, and hopefully also games data like gameloft files. if this didn't happen then do it manualy. if none of that worked well... just download the data again
I think even if you set primary storage to SD, your apps remain on internal. However it will force the Gameloft etc /sdcard storage to external.
I thought the old native apps to external SD functionality was deprecated from ICS onwards? But I could be wrong...

Setting the primary storage is the only option ICS provides, no other apps like app2sd work actualy, i tried them
but... root opens new doors remember, i'm sure there are some apps that can move all apps to external sd, although i son't think that's possible when it comes to system apps.
and here i have a question: is it possible to set en ext3 partition on the external sd so that apps can be moved there? i did this on my beloved "dead" htc wildfire and i tell you I LOVE IT! all apps on ext3 partition (256 mb) but when looking at storage settings they appear in internal memory!! crazy right? and that makes those apps load really fast whenturning the phone on.
Don't bother trying to use old a2sd hacks that were designed for Gingerbread and Froyo phones with only a few hundred MB of internal storage.
But I did verify, yes, if you select the option to designate primary (/sdcard) storage as the external SD, the option to move apps to SD reappears. I prefer to store as much as possible on internal rather than external, because the read/write speeds are faster. Of course, regardless of which you select, any app that does allow you to change its storage directory can have a path entered that locates the correct place.
Thanks for the replies everypne! My CM9 Galaxy S II does have an option for moving apps to sd card in the settings->apps menu for compatilbe apps, so I don't think this has been discontinued in ICS+?
Anyway, I figured there WAS enough space on the internal memory for the app I was installing when I got the insufficient space error. I also noticed I had different available memory on sdcard0 (internal storage) and /data (also the same partition of the internal storage) when I ran df in a terminal, and figured something was off, so I ditched the ROM I was using, wiped it all form recovery, and installed CM9. Seems to be working OK for now.
I'll still run out of space in the internal sd card - but for the huge data guzzlers like gameloft I'll try to use Directory Bind which I vaguely remembered reading about and so googled up. As mentioned, it is not really an option to have all apps default to save stuff on the external sd card for security reasons. But if directory bind works (or manually editing in bind mounts in init files), and hopefully it should still be smooth sailing.
Still not sure whether I want to trade it in for a 10" though. Such a pity I can't find any 10" without acceptable resolution, gps, 3g and a price I can justify. The Mediapad sure is a nifty device with a good screen, even though it is a little heavy. But no I'm going way of topic.
Hey there, i have a problem with my h850 LG G5!
I want to move all my app data (asphalt8,...) to my adopted SD whitch i created with ADB. But when i say Migrate Data, it stops with "not enough space" but thats wrong. How can I move it without Root? IS there any other method? Does editing the build.prop with the ro.lge.adoptable_storage thing help too?
Hope you can help me fast.
Thanks in Advance!!!
What does your Storage saying?
Hi.
I've splitted the sd in 2 parts: adoptable Storage and a part as portable storage.
I can move apps to my adoptable Storage which works, but when I move asphalt, it only moves 50mb (the apk itself) and the /data for asphalt (1,2gb) stays and chills on my fu***ng internal memory. Migrating the data would fix this, but it doesn't work. It copies the full internal sd on my adoptable Storage BUT it doesn't delete it from the internal storage with the error "not enough space", which is not true because I have 12gb left on my internal storage. Now I have duplicated 2gbs on my adoptable Storage and I can't delete those. I don't want to try it again because then 8gbs are full. I tried that 3 times and in the German forum Android-Hilfe the other guys have the same problem.
Thanks.
Hi people. I have aquestion about Adoptable Storage in MM.
Pre:
My girlfriend's phone's recentlly receive MM firmware and now I can't move apps to SD unless it's in Internal storage mode but I don't like this mode because it reduces portability of the card and difficults to copy media files like videos and pictures.
I was wondering about downgrade to LP, but then I read a tuto about using Link2SD to divide the microSD and link apps to internal partition, but I don't like the concept of "link" apps data using a third party app.
So looking for more info I came across this article Android 6 Semi-adopted storage about using ADB to divide the SD in both internal and external storage. I find this method more apropiated for my case but I have some questions.
Q:
Any of you uses this method for microSD? What about performance?
If I divide my card this way, can I use it in my computer to copy files in external partition? And what if I change my Android device? Could it detect and use external partition? How do I use internal partition in this device?
The most important question for me is about portability. Sorry for my english.
Greetings.
Hi,
I have Lineage / CM14.1 installed, and my SD is formatted as internal memory.
Now it is so that most apps are installed on the SD by default. A few of these must be mandatory in the internal memory. Now I have the problem that i can't move some Apps to the internal Memory. So when I try to move apps from external memory to the internal, I get the error message: Not enough space
But there is definitely enough internal memory space (9GB). The app itself has so around the 25MB (Watchmacker Pro)
Does anyone have a tip for me?
You can't have your SD card formatted as internal storage and still use the device storage. It is one or the other.
If i go to Settings / Apps / choose an App ( for me Watchmaker) / Storage(?) / change. There can i move from SD to Internal shared Memory.
That is necessary, because Apps, that uses Widgets, must be installed in Internal shared Memory.

I understand that. It is also that many apps are coded not to be moved to sdcards. This is why Google added the merging of sdcard and internal storage into android 7.0
I would run a logcat and see what is causing the out of memory issue. It could be something as easy as one of CM features/bugs that was never fixed as apps to sdcard has been frowned upon for many years and some rom devs made it not work on purpose.
