Since the last OTA update I am facing issues while calling on WiFi.
While my phone is already on WiFi if I recieve a call, intermittently the voice breaks alot, after manually switching to Mobile network it works alright.
But Today I faced a weird issue, I received a call on mobile network when I was outside, as soon as I entered home and switched to WiFi, I got a message on my screen that the call has dropped and voice stopped, when I dialled back the call got connected automatically and I could hear my friend still talking like it never disconnected and at the same time I could also hear 2nd voice that the number you have called is busy. I tried to disconnect and call again but it was the same, to get out of this loop I had to switch back to Mobile network and disconnect.
This is the first time I faced such issue.

Hey all,
I'm having this issue randomly ever since I took a trip to Chicago this past weekend. My Atrix (only rooted) stopped receiving incoming calls from certain numbers. I've tried with a friend's AT&T iPhone and it works fine. But from my Verizon work cell I cannot call my Atrix.
When an incoming call comes in, the phone rings for half a second and then goes back to my home screen. No missed call log or anything. Immediately when the call comes in the phone's signal drops out and a few seconds later reconnects.
Everything else works just fine, SMS and data still smooth.
Anyone else have this issue? It's strange and pretty annoying.
Upon further investigation I have found that I can make and receive calls to those Verizon numbers if they are deleted from my contacts!
So Verizon + Contact = FAIL
Hello,
I found one thread about the same issue but didn't want to revive it because it's in an HTC Incredible S dedicated forum. Anyway, I am having the exact same problem as described there and I've been looking for a solution for months now...
Incoming calls fail when the phone is switched to 3G.
Until I came upon that thread, I thought this problem only occurs on Hypersimmed Japanese phones -- Japanese phones have a SIM lock that can only be overcome using a hypersim and even then they don't usually work fine in 3G.
Some hypersims, however, seem to be able to "do something" about this issue - while I have zero issues with incoming calls under 3G on my 904SH (2006 model), the problem described here occurs on my Android-powered Sharp Softbank 005SH.
So, I can connect to the 3G network (when in 3G only mode - if set to AUTO the switch causes the phone to lose signal and the SIM must be inserted in a "normal" phone to regain signal, we call this "CPR").
3G data works and 3G incoming calls work -- as long as there is an active data connection.
One way to do this was have Skype running all the time - huge battery drain and still incoming calls would occasionally fail as Skype doesn't seem to update its data at fixed small intervals...
I have estimated that the data connection closes in about 30 seconds, which means that after this period, incoming calls will fail.
I tried a small app that a friend had written - a screen widget that connects to a server at a fixed interval, e.g. 20 or 30 seconds, and displays different small photos.
This app does the trick as long as the phone's screen is on. If I switch it off, the app continues working, and even lights up the screen every 20 seconds (at maybe 1/3 of normal brightness) but incoming calls fail.
Now, in the above mentioned thread, the user only writes that his problem got fixed by itself.
I too have excellent 3G coverage and it's not a local problem (near my home's signal tower).
So, any ideas will be welcome!
Just this morning I noticed that I couldn't make outgoing calls and got a recorded message instructing me to make sure I am dialing the right number or something like that. Also, incoming calls were going straight to rapid beeps, in other words incoming was failing too.
I went in to Sprint and they noticed that my network setting was set to Global instead of LTE/CDMA, changing it got calling working again. They suspected an update overnight may have caused it as another user with an LG G3 came in earlier today.
I am running 5.0.1 build LRX21Y, LS990ZV8
PRL version is 55023
I don't think any of these indicate anything new. But just be aware, if your phone has suddenly stopped making/receiving calls, go into settings, More, Mobile networks, Network mode and verify you see LTE/CDMA.
Hey all, been a long time since I've been down here, but I got a Verizon S9+ last week. Bone stock with latest update. I've had wifi calling issues right from the start. My house has terrible service, so with my old S4 I was almost always on wifi calling at home.
My issues:
It seems totally random. Sometimes it automatically switches to wifi calling no problem, other times it simply won't switch, even though I can't get out a text message or a call. Usually a reboot fixes the problem, but I don't need to be rebooting all day when I'm at home, and I miss calls and texts all the time. In testing, it's switching fine sometimes, and I can run upstairs and into the basement while on a call, and it will automatically switch back and forth. Other times, if it has even one bar of service, it will not switch, even though I can't make calls or send texts.
I have tried network reset, and factory data reset, no joy. Wifi calling is on, and I set "prefer wifi while roaming". If I am in airplane mode, even when connected to wifi, it will not make a call or send a text.
Another odd issue is with a group text. If I send a text to multiple people at once, I get an "invalid address" error.
It seems a lot of people on the internet are asking about issues with wifi calling with the S9's, should I just dump this thing and downgrade to an S8?
So this problem has been persisting for over a year now. I live in an area with great connectivity. All my family members have Jio sims and have never faced a problem.
Problem: I have two Jio sims in my phone. Sometimes my phone becomes unreachable or says 'number is switched off' when someone tries calling. If I try calling, it just shows call ended. The signal strength is always full and mobile data also works.
Restarting the phone or putting the phone in airplane mode and then back solves the issue.
Sometimes someone would call me, the phone would ring but I won't receive the call and then my phone would ring 30 minutes later and when I press answer, the app would hang.
Solutions I have tried:
- Factory reset my phone 3 times.
-Bought a new Sim
-Volte and WiFI calling is enabled, tried disabling also, but doesn't work
-Tried keeping Dual 4G on, it didn't work, tried turning off, it didn't work
Still problem is persisting
Please help, I don't have money for a new phone and I'm in the middle of job searching and I can't afford to miss recruiter calls
