Combination Firmware for Samsung Galaxy J4 (SM-J400F) - Binary version U9 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. There seems to be no thread for Galaxy J4 despite requests to put it up so my sincere apologies if I've missed it. Got my sister's J4 on FRP lock. She hadn't enabled USB debugging nor OEM unlock in Developer options. I've watched tons of tutorials on how to unlock but it's dawned on me that none of these methods can work with the bootloader locked. The only way I think I can do that is by flashing the exact combination firmware then enabling USB debugging and OEM unlock then attempting FRP unlock. Problem is, the available combination firmware I've come across are binary versions U1 to U7. This phone is binary version U9. I've scoured the internet for this specific combination firmware to no avail. Anyone knows where I can find it? It's been a long 3 months of searching am almost giving up.

Help needed to root Viewsonic VSD243 non-GMS device

Hi all,
I'm hoping one the XDA geniuses can help with a challenge I have!
I have a Viewsonic VSD243 I bought second hand to give to my kids but didn't realize it's a non-GMS device and therefore doesn't support playstore. Most of the apps the kids want need playstore so have been looking for a way to get playstore working without luck. Now I know why it was so cheap!
The bootloader is locked and I haven't been able to get to the bootloader to unlock as there are no physical volume buttons on the device and abd reboot bootloader just restarts the device...fastboot is not finding a device no matter what I try. I've been attempting various other workarounds for weeks with no luck (e.g. methods used for Huawei devices using apps like chat partner, ) but not had any luck
Please could someone recommend a method(s) to unlock the bootloader / root the device given the above (especially with the restriction of not having physical volume keys)? Ideally I'd like to create a dual boot on the device, one with existing ROM and one with custom (e.g. via Magisk) but can't get to root :-(
Your help would be really appreciated

I successfully unlocked and rooted a VSD231 with KingoRoot.apk just say no to all the junk it tries to put on it. I am going from memory a long time ago.
thank you for responding and good to know you managed with a viewsonic device. I'll give it a go as don't have many other options...
I spoke to Viewsonic and was told the only way to get playstore was to jailbreak the device and put on an alternate ROM...when I asked how to unlock the bootloader to do it they said they couldn't / wouldn't tell me :-( !!
When I talked to them years ago, they were very surprised that I unlocked and rooted my VSD231.

Finding kernel/chipset exploits for android rooting

I've been trying to root my Huawei y6 prime for a while now, and after getting to know that bootloader unlocking is a mandatory intermediary process, which itself requires a code during the unlocking process, thus i had to resort to bruteforcing the code but it just doesn't work properly. After some research, i come to realize that some privilege escalation exploits that affects vulnerabilities at the android kernel or the chipsets i.e. android-dirty-pipe and mtk-su, can be used to gain root privileges instead of the "typical" aforementioned one or ready-made android applications.
The question is -if i'm understanding it correctly- How can i find the respective exploits that works for my phone? Is there an index or a more feasible way of aggregating possible exploits that can work with my phone's kernel/android build/chipset/model?
I was skeptic about the fact that being unable to obtain bootloader unlock token is the end of the road as most previous threads claim!

I'd like to know more about this. In bootloader locked phones, what is keeping it locked? Any way to use hashcat or something to crack the bootloader lol

ViVo X Note unlock bootloader???

This is a very simple question, and i have tried scouring the internet for this answer, but to no avail, i havent found anything. Has anyone successfully unlocked the bootloader/rooted/and flash an american OS to the Vivo X Note? I've tried all the conventional ways to unlock the bootloader on this device and nothing works. It's so odd because vivo has OEM unlocking in the dev options, but nothing in ADB works with it and there isnt an OEM tool like Xiaomi's tool that can do it. Every command just does not work with this phone. I hope there is an answer out there cause i would love to be able to remove originOS and put funtouch or something American on it. Thanks!
have you tried below command from fastboot-
fastboot bbk vivo_bsp unlock_vivo

I know this was quite awhile ago but I can help if you're still interested. This is my current device and I have a pretty good handle on downgrading/rooting. I can also help you get back to the latest OTA. The key is to make sure you have a copy of the OTA.zip or at least the boot.img from that OTA version. I have all of these files backed up and can share them but could also walk you through the process so you're able to do it yourself. Let me know if interested. If there is a demand I may write up a guide. Happy to share any knowledge/data on an individual basis if not

realme c21, can't unlock the bootloader

hi, i have a realme c21 , but it has a problem, after 1 year of realme UI 2 without updates (because i never got the realme UI 3) i got tired of the usual interface, so i would like to install a rom, the pixel experience, but the problem is that the bootloader does not unlock, because when I restart it from ADB sideload in fastboot, the phone restarts in the normal way, without going to fasboot, and for a second you see a message that seems to me to be: emiei does not match
reboot_bootloader_faild. i searched for a long time and i found nothing, even trying to downgrade from android 11 to android 10 it doesn't work, because when i install the OTA update at an installation point it says "FAILD TO INSTALL OTA UPDATE", the '' realme unlock doesn't work, because it says that my devices are not supported, could anyone help me?

Oh scusa Ah sorry I'm new, and didn't know about it, so is everything okay now?

Please help. I'm dumb and flashed Android 13 from DUI settings on Android 11 without unlocking bootloader.

So now on restart it tells me system is corrupt and need to decorrupt and I have to press power button in 5 second phone will shut off. I press the power button and it loads normal. Everything works but it's way slower lagging and stuff. I tried to log in recovery but I up until just now pressed a bunch of random buttons for into recovery mode. It word never make it to recover mode the little Android man wild pup up and say no system command. Anyway made it to recovery mode and wiped the partitions and rebooted and still popped up system corrupted. I also have done a factory reset to no avail. Oh yeah I forgot to state that the upload of android 13 from 11 made it almost 3/4 of the download before stopping. So it never finished and I'm still running that same Android 11 just with I'm guessing corrupted files from boatloader not being unlocked. I mean it's a 60$ phone from Walmart but it's all I have right now. I'm sure a couple people have been there. Anyway I know someone knows what I should do. Just say screw it and don't mess with it since it still loadimg morally and I can get online and use apps. Or is it a crash waiting to happen?? Should I download factory rom from somewhere and root, then unlock boatloader, flash ROM and restart. And if someone could tell me how is the best way to flash or get the corrupted files off before I I flash the new one?? Or will the news one fix the crashed files. Please just a dummy needing help.
