Hi, I recently bought a Realme GT2 Pro and sadly it had the chinese ROM version, which has no Google apps or services, and it's full of bloatware. My objective is to flash/install the EU ROM so I can select many other languages and have Google services installed, with no chinese apps. So, first, here's the info of my phone:

Then, the dev options:
And finally the nv_id:
So according to this "If the result is 01000100, 01010001 or 10001101, you have the GDPR ROM installed, otherwise you have the export one", I have an export ROM.
My first question is... what's the difference between RMX3300 and RMX3301? Are they the same phone and can their ROMs be flashed in both models, both ways?
I have a Xiaomi phone and the way to know if you have a Chinese, Europe or Global version is to check the ROM name: CN, EU or MI. I was expecting to find that 3300 is a Chinese GT2 Pro and 3301 is a Global GT2 Pro, but it does not happen to be the case.
According to my model, can I just follow this tutorial to unlock bootloader:
[Chinese and Global Version] Unlock bootloader, updated

I'm quoting this part because I wrote it. I was talking about the global model (RMX3301), not the Chinese one (RMX3300). You don't have the export ROM, nor the GDPR one, but the domestic ROM (for the Chinese market) and your nv_id reflects that.
Now, I don't know the differences between the Chinese and Global models. The fact that the model number is different means something changes. Maybe it's just the certifications, or the LTE/5G bands that are different.
In any case, you can cross-flash the RMX3300 (Chinese) to RMX3301 (Global). If you literally follow the guide, you will end up with the export ROM (and TW nv_id). You can, however, flash any ROM you want, export or GDPR, and for each one of the two, chose which nv_id (region) you want. Each region has different installed apps. I suggest the IN region for the export ROM, and EUEX for the GDPR one. If you live outside India and Europe (EU, UK, Switzerland and EEA), and you want to flash a ROM that's more relevant to your country, you can chose Turkey and EU-NONEEA-Double for the GDPR ROM, and Taiwan, Indonesia, Russia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, South Africa, Latin America, Brazil and MEA for the export one.
I hope it's not too much information at once.

I'm not aware of any group specific for this phone, sorry.
Okay I just did the whole unlock bootloader process, the app all fine, recognized the fastboot device, proceeded, successfully unlocked, restarted and started from welcome tutorial.
Now I will flash the EU ROM hopefully.

Okay... when flashing the Global ROM, in the process there's an IMG used called super.img. Should I replace that super.img by an EU img?
I don't know what FW that super.img flashes on my device. I guess my question is... if after all that process I get a global ROM, should I then later go here:
[Global/EU] Collection of firmware files
Since a lot of people is asking for firmware files, OTAs, boot.img, I decided to collect all the resources here, so that it would be easier to get what you need. First of all, you have to identify your ROM version. It is not the scope of this...
forum.xda-developers.com
And choose a FW to flash over the Global ROM?

You should use all the files from the desired ROM, not only super.img. In the topic you mentioned there are instructions to extract the OFP file and merge the super.img. I understand they are not very clear, but it wasn't the scope of the post.
You should however be able to directly use OppoRealme-OFP-Flash and skip the extraction process. Please note that many anti-virus programs detect the tool as as virus. While I'm confident it's a false positive, if you don't trust it you can use the Python version, or do it manually (extract and merge the files, then flash as per instructions).

502 lollipop for france is out for g850f.
i have a question - there is a chain or a specific path that samsung follow for releasing updates in specific regions?
to be more specific when lollipop arrives in romania for galaxy alpha g850f?
i saw that orange lollipop has been released for g850f in romania, but for the unlocked variant is still missing!
if someone has any idea about region releases, please post some details and i will give a BIG THANKS!
michael
no one?
somebody? any clues?
WTF?
There is no Orange Lollipop ... there is only a late update to KITKAT from Orange Romania that as usual is the crappiest mobile provider ever!
yep, sorry, my bad!
i saw something wrong.
still, about when will the update drops nearby, from first french release, there is a country pattern or something?
Nope, it could be hours, days, weeks, months depending on the mobile providers. The France release could be a test phase and after if results are positive they could go global.
Problems with software could lengthen the process and the recent apps button bug that some experienced is bound to do just that.
Or you could update to lollipop with odin. But so far only the french version is out.
5.0.2 is out in france. You can download the update from sammobile.com. Go to their site, search for galaxy alpha in firmware section, then follow the links to download it. When done, follow the tutorial on how to install odin and drivers for windows PC.I did this, first try and worked like a charm. I'm using 'international' 850F. It's really a simple procedure.
yes, but...
i have installed the french version, but i need my country version when comes out from the motive that i hope is less buggy...
there are tests now to ensure the other versions are bugless, but i dont know how many weeks we must wait for.
in the end they will push the 5.1.1 update, cuz 5.0.2 is difficult to make it clean considering google got issues too with him
when on android we have to be able to control oure frustrations regarding updates, especially from oure carriers ...so...
KEEP CALM AND WAIT FOR IT cuz im not calm and im reconsider my next strategy of buying future phone
anyone with some news about when lollipop is released in other regions? ...for G850F
there are 2 weeks from france release?
how much do we have to wait?
i hope not another 2...
The best sourse for news remains Sammobile. When the update is ready, it will be posted there. We just have to have patience.

It is carrier specific. The french version is basically a test release to the public and all carriers get the same firmware. It is up to them to release that version related to them.
Basically dont blame samsung, ask your carrier when it will be released
what carrier? i'm a free carrier user! i relay on a carrier just with contract but phone was bought from shop. i can choose any carrier i want! so... who gives the updates for unlocked phones? it's samsung, i think.
corret me if not

Your csc is your carrier since thats what you were asking for, in my case my unbranded DBT alpha still has to wait for debital, the german unbranded version.
Also since you dont care, then you have your version with the french release.

Doesnt matter, it will work on the SM-G850F regardless and its a new build. Plus this is a thread about Region updates.
I would flash but I dont have time at the moment but I am sure its featured with multiple CSC's so it should not effect the use to anyones area. All SM-G850F have the same hardware and features. The difference in CSC are region tailored with specific bloatware and minor differences like lockscreen shortcuts and signal icons (some use LTE and others will have 4G). Most importantly this build has a new changelog which means Samsung may have fixed some issues with the French build.
Can i get it on danish?

Helloo,
So, if i flash the new UAE, can i still get everything on Danish? I mean, is there multiple language on? English would be fine too ..
Another thing, would this trigger knox? Thinking its not a custom, but a official ROM from Samsung, so it shouldn't trigger, am i right or?
I haven't flashed it yet but I believe it will have all supported languages. It won't trip Knox as long as its official from Samsung it won't touch knox.

I only get custom firmware updates on my p20 lite.
I haven't updated my phone yet.
Current version: ANE-LX1 8.0.0.112 (C432)
New custom version: POLKOMTEL.PL 8.0.0.2 (CT)
Is there a way I can update my phone to normal firmware updates?
Is root required for this?
Will I need to backup my phone before I update to a normal firmware?
If so what is the best way to back up the phone, preferably where I don't sync to Google or another provider who likes to collect data like the contact list?
I am not using an SD card. My phone is a dual sim version

Not a complete answer…
You can check with carful, without root, if you have Huawei firmware instead of firmware customized for your provider, read this thread (at your own risk).
What is the reason that I only get "new custom version" firmware updates?
Should I maybe unlock the bootloader and root the phone? Will this stop these "custom versions"?

At the moment it is not sim locked to one provider. I am using two sim cards from two different providers and both sim cards work.
I am afraid if I make the update it will either be sim locked, have some features disabled like WiFi Hotspot or it will get a lot of bloatware from POLKOMTEL.

First this update is at least strange, if your device is SIMLOCK_DEACTIVE and Vendor Country is hw/eu like mine, the regular update expected should be B126 or B136.
This updated can fail, if not bloatware will be present as always but lock your SIM is hard to believe to me. If you are in the hw/eu with link from my last post you can try update to B136. Or you can try capture the link for POLKOMTEL firmware and share here and then I install in mine.
Edit, check in your if the feature Automatic system updates is enable.
When I first started using this phone I used it with a different sim card. As soon as I put the plus.pl simcard into the phone the custom update appeared.
It looks like this
The update did download and I got asked to restart the phone to install it. I never restarted the phone so it was never installed.
OEM unlock is off and automatic system updates are on
SIMLOCK Info: SIMLOCK_DEACTIVE
Vendor Country Info: hw eu
Fuse Info: Error
If you are interested in this custom firmware I can try capturing the link if you tell me how to.

Your SIMLOCK is with same status as mine and Vendor Country too.
Yes, this update seems to be related to plus.pl sim card and maybe it appear because of automatic system updates are on.
If download already happened I'm not sure that you can capture, but you can try.
Generate a logcat file:
Code:
adb logcat > logcat.txt
logcat.txt file will be generated in the current directory, then search for a link that starts with:
Code:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180
I finally managed to get a normal firmware update.
The firmware finder app for Huawei didn't work. This was because the mobile provider firmware was higher than any real firmware. (8.0.0.200).
I couldn't find this custom firmware in logcat.
I disabled automatic system updates in developer options.
After that I went to - >settings - > APPS & notifications - > APPS - > system update
Here I pressed force stop
After that I went to Storage - > Clear Data
After this I went to the system update and the "custom firmware" was no longer there. Instead I received an official Huawei update!!!!
Also my mobile data was switched of while I was doing that. I only used WiFi. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Unfortunatelly Your measure steps are not working for me. In developer options i have automatic updates setting disabled and it only protects me that EMUI system update is nagging me with notification to make an update and not doing it behind my back.
Any official non branded updates are no longer appearing (ANE-LX1), only branded from my local operator. It seems any local custom operator update has higher priority over official ones (or operators have found an exploit to make their updates more important than official ones).
Clearing data of update apps is making things worse because the second step in protection from unwanted update is app privilege named phone (at least on my device) which has to be disabled and which is enabled by default. So each time i clear data of update app, this privilege returns to on state and allows app to start downloading update.
Finally, the only way to get official update is (on my end) to pull out sim card and restart phone.
I didn't point to this but my device is non branded one, bought in ordinary shop, not related to any operator or SIM card.

Hi, I have also one Hong Kong variant bought by Internet.
I live in Spain and mostly of things works fine (only Samsung Pau and others small things don't work due to the different country).
I'm looking if it's possible to change the firm or CSC to another mostly European in order to have all of features available but I don't know if this is possible.
I know that GM-S9730 have Qualcomm inside and the others countries with Qualcomm are USA and Canada.
So could someone tell me if it's possible to use Spanish CSC over Hong Kong firmware or change to Canada (Multi-CSC) firmware?
Thanks in advance

It's not issue, it's feature of the region. The programs can do nothing, the setting appears and disappears from the menu in different regions and depends on the value in the configuration files in the CSC.
As for me, I long ago changed in contacts places a surname and a name. Now I don't need this setting.

Awesome to know for the update! I checked just two or three days ago and it wasn't on samfrew.com just yet (for GM-G9750). I'm going to have to use Odin to update because I unlocked my bootloader. First time owning a Samsung and using Odin. Anyone else in the same boat?
Edit: actually, using Smart Switch does seem a lot less like a pain in the butt than Odin, so I'll do that.
Edit 2: updating via Smart Switch was super easy and didn't take very long at all. I was worried I might get a factory reset and have to restore everything, but that was not the case.
如题,最近台版、港版、都已经更新了61.0.A.11.92系统,但是我并没有收到,不清楚是不是因为我刷了TW版本的固件所导致的

MOD EDIT: English Translation Below
As mentioned above, the 61.0.A.11.92 system has been updated recently in Taiwan and Hong Kong, but I did not receive it. I don’t know if it’s caused by flashing the TW version of the firmware.

I have the Hong Kong version, Sony ha not released any update, only one app update.
Well, XPERIA 1 III is a special model - if you flash firmware of OTHER REGION, you will not be receiving any OTA. I found this by dialing *#*#7378423#*#* - normally you can find your region code in 'Software Info'. If you flash other version, Phone Software Version will be GLOBAL-C2-user, not HK or TW.

That's interesting. I have mine showing "GLOBAL-C2 - user". But I also received the 61.0.A.11.92 OTA.
(I didn't flash, btw.)

Just bought a 2nd hand Xperia 1 III 512G in China .
Seller said it's from H.K. but I'm not sure since the charger plug is 2 pins - For China & Taiwan
Not the 3 pins - For UK & HK . The charger type # shown as - AC-0540-CN
Current software version 61.0.A.23.20 / GLOBAL-C2 - user
Have all the Google apps and that's the reason I have to buy 2nd hand HK version since Chinese version don't have al the Google apps
My question .
It's 3/23 ; I still did not get OTA for Android 12 . I think this phone might be flashed before it's with me
How will I know if the phone is original from HK or original China version and flashed the ' GLOBAL-C2 ' software .
you have the china version, if you have the hk version the adapter is AC-0540-hk or XQZ-UC11 and the android 12, its regional, hong kong already has the android 12 update along time ago. whether yours is hk or china, if its f/w flashed, it makes no different.
btw the hong kong version is also a chinese version, but it has googles.b

Google search the below, xxx is your Sony Product Code. Click on the link that starts with software.sonymobile.com, usually the first one.
Code:
sony xxx
example from your screenshot would be as below.
Code:
sony 43040280
Search for the product code number on that page. If it matches, look at the <name> field at the top to find out your region.
It looks like you have a Customized_CN product.
You have a Chinese region phone flashed with HK firmware. In this case you will not get OTA, as mentioned by other people in this forum who tried flashing other region firmware. They do not get OTA.
Yes , I do believe above is just the situation I'm facing . What I don't understand is
Current version of 61.0.A.23.20 were OTA updated from earlier version when I go the phone and reset everything
Since I can get last OTA ; Why I can't get the Android 12 OTA
Is it possible you got scammed/lied to? That your phone is actually a China region phone with China region firmware. If it is then the behavior described above makes sense. As seen in the link below, the China region firmware was on the same version you are stuck on before receiving their Android 12 update.
Xperia 1 III (XQ-BC72) - Customized CN
The latest software and firmware versions for the Xperia 1 III (XQ-BC72) XperiCheck.com checks the Sony servers every 5 minutes to always display the latest information.

The China version only recently got the Android 12 update. And according to Chinese message board sources mentioned from:
New Update / Xperia 1 III / 61.1.A.4.78
forum.xda-developers.com
This latest update will be released on a new staggered schedule, meaning some phones get it first, others get it later in china. It means you may get the Android 12 update OTA later than expected. Maybe lets observe if you are getting the OTA update above. If you are, you may have been conned.
So, will it be possible to unlock n28? The Ace Pro uses band 28A for LTE as well as N28A for 5G. But Reliance Jio, the operator in India uses N28B and that's not compatible with the Chinese version. I wonder if flashing a global rom will fix it. The reason I want the Ace Pro is due to the 512GB variant. The Indian as well as European variant doesn't have 512GB max. So, is it possible to unlock full n28? I don't have the phone at the moment, but planning to get the Ace Pro, probably during the 11/11 sale on Aliexpress.
Here are the bands the Ace Pro supports. The problem here is the N28A
4G: FDD-LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/18/19/20/26/28A
5G: NR SA:n1/n3/n5/n8/n20/n28A/n38/n40/n41/n77/n78
I'm hoping it's possible to unlock using Qualcomm tools QPST and QXDM.
Will await your replies.
Wait for Jio Phone 5G launch to verify whether N28B is available for the device or not in India ? BTW most of the Chinese Phone launched in 2022 do support N28A not sure about N28B.
Devices that mention support for N28, (support both A & B)
N28 SPEED IS SLOW BUT NETWORK COVERAGE IS GOOD.
10T Global Bands
FDD-LTE: B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B13/B17/B18/B19/B20/B25/B26/B28/B30/B32/B66/B71
TDD-LTE: B38/B39/B40/B41

NSA: n1/n2/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n25/n28/n30/n38/n40/n41/n66/n71/n77/n78
In China N28A Frequency is- n28a (Uplink: 703MHz-733MHz, Downlink: 758MHz-788MHz)
In India N28A Frequency is- n28a (Uplink: 723MHz-748MHz, Downlink: 778MHz-803MHz)
N28 WILL WORK WITH JIO CHECK BOTH CHINA AND INDIAN FREQUENCY IN THE CHART.
Note : China ROM doesn't support VoWiFi for Jio Check Here

Hey thanks, although I won't need the Chinese 10t due to reasons specified below.

Yes it's slow, but not that slow. Should give a good 10 to 20Mbps on 5G indoors when the tower is about a km or two away even with a bare minimum of 10MHz block.

Thanks. Was checking a forum and found out your said frequencies for China are correct.
Xiaomi Community

This thread shows that the Chinese N28A frequencies differ a lot. Funnily enough, the Indian variant has the same modem and the same band config as the Chinese variant. India and China both have 1Gbps 4G modems whereas the EU variant is packed with a 2Gbps modem. Now I won't get the entire 2Gbps, but I would be able to attain a good speed over the other phones thanks to the speedier modem. So, I've dropped the idea of getting the 512GB version. Will get the EU variant for now, and then plan on upgrading to a better phone with mmWave by 2025 to 2026.
I do thank you for your help though! It looks like you got the attachment from Esmail's spectrum chart on Onlytech.

I will flash a custom rom that should work with Jio VoWifi when they come out, so that won't be a problem. I'm finding out if it's worth buying the phone during the Aliexpress 11/11 sale, or wait until March 2023 for the custom roms.
@gonetask another thing to add, the global variant has more band combos as compared to the Chinese variant which I assume has the same combinations as the Indian variant.
Global: https://cacombos.com/device/CPH2415
China: https://cacombos.com/device/PG110
As you can see, there are over 3.2k combinations in the global variant which are pretty important, whereas the Chinese variant has just 190 combinations.
Does simply changing from the chinese rom to the global rom enable the global bands?
Edit: nevermind, found my answer. Looks like you need to modify the nvram which is not overwritten when switching roms. it looks like OnePlus has, in the past, included a toolkit which allows for enabling/disabling bands called RFtoolkit along with another apk called Comms or Bands or something like that.

Some testing would be required to confirm if it's possible.
The reasoning behind this is that the Ace Pro is 400USD while the 10T (identical phone for global market) is 600USD.
