Hi all, I apologise for posting a subject which must have been hit on many times before. I have read and re-read various posts and searched the internet and already downloaded lots of software tools and roms already at this point, but, I am not closer to solving my problem and I wonder if any of you can provide any definite answers?!
I have a mi10 which suddenly went into boot loop. I had no idea this was a thing, or I would have backed up my data and unlocked the bootloader previously.
I need to know if it is possible to fix/replace the ROM without losing all of my data - mainly photos of precious memories I can never get back.
So far I have
-sorted my intel PC for adb.
-DLd miflash
-DLd mi unlock
-run platform tools
-have umi global image standing by
and I have mediatek boot unlocker and FRP flash on the sidelines
I am not a developer and while I'm very tech literate I only started learning about this stuff 2 days ago, so I have no real experience.
So far I cannot find a way to flash the phone and save my storage data, despite various sites and softwares telling me it is possible.
Please can someone put me out of my misery and let me know if there is a way to do this?
Sincere thanks!

Stop, stop...the blistering responses sharing insightful experience are too much...I cannot read this fast... please slow down guys
If you dont have working recovery or turned on usb debugging then no, you have to reflash and you will lose your data
Thanks for sharing your experience Dovahpig, I appreciate it!

If you can unlock bootloader then flashing stock rom with mi flash "without wiping data" will be solution

If you can't unlock bootloader by official way, there are some unofficial services also available on the internet
But not sure about mi 10

Hiya
I have an Alcatel Onetouch Pop C1 4015D (and for the record, I'm never buying this brand or similar junk again). I just got it un-bricked after a few months thanks to the online USB firmware updater. It's currently in pretty much its factory-default state again, preinstalled crapware and all.
What I'd like to do is install a custom ROM on it, to have a clean system I can actually enjoy owning, e.g. AOSP (if that is what I think it is: the basic, clean Android system). The problem is that I'm getting a little overwhelmed with information, tutorials linking to more tutorials, tutorials linking to downloads for which I have to "complete a survey" and such (abort abort abort), 2 different tutorials for the same thing stating different ADB commands, a few outright scams, etc etc etc. There's tons of information out there, but 90% of it seems wrong, irrelevant, device-specific or otherwise unusable. I've already spent hours on this and still haven't gotten anywhere.
I'd be very grateful if someone actually reliable could walk me through the entire, correct process, please. :fingers-crossed:
I'm just going to write down the bits and pieces of info I already have:
I've already rooted it with Framaroot; no problems there, superuser works.
I've found this site that lists several ROMs, presumably specifically for the C1, including the standard ROM and a cleaned version: tinyurl dot com/o24wqoe. The AOSP one strikes my fancy and is on my SD card already.
The same site says I can just put the provided ROMs on my SD and install them as updates via stock recovery, but I highly doubt that because I read everywhere you specifically can't do that. Sounds like fake advice to me.
I'm told I'd need to unlock my bootloader, but once in fastboot/bootloader mode none of the offered fastboot unlock commands really do anything. The "..." appears in my console and then nothing.
I've tried installing TWRP and CWM recoveries, but you know, "your device is not supported". There's this video of a C1 with a custom recovery (watch?v=_TGgXIp3fWM) and the comments claim it's CTRecovery, but I can't even find anything about that. I already submitted requests for a fix for my device to twrp and cwm half a year ago before I bricked this thing, and one person promised he was gonna make a build for me, but nothing came from any of that.
I think that's just about all the useful things I can extract from this whole mess of information I have...
Please help me make sense of this overload of info and device-specific shenanigans, and walk me through what seems to be such a simple process for everyone with a mainstream device?
For the record, I'm back down to barely being up-to-date on what is what anymore. I'm more than familiar enough with the theoretical side (bootloaders, partitions, bios, etc) because of my heavy computer usage (professional programmer), but once I get into Android I'm just lost. All that fancy terminology nobody seems to bother to explain, things that are taken for granted but aren't really obvious (like a guy demonstrating the installation of a custom ROM, and only mentioning 10 minutes into the excessively long video that you need to install a custom this and custom that first), so many alternative methods for the same thing that have different dependencies (unlocking bootloader vs custom recovery), etc... I don't know anymore what's device-specific and what isn't, who is telling the truth, what a given tutorial is actually making me achieve in the end, etc. TL;DR I'm lost, I'm not stupid but I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about Android's subsystems anymore at this point.
wow u wrote a full post and u speaked for me as have the same problem
Custom recover
i have made a recovery for the 4015x
and got one of the roms to work
(and a fixed stock recovery)
there are 6 versions of this phone and at least two different partition tables that ive seen
but getting it back from softbrick id use the "mobile upgrade s 4.1.1" from the alcatel site
alcatel, mobiles, all mobiles, pop c1, support and on the right hand side down load the program and follow
this forces a stock rom back on the phone (no root and all data wiped)
im waighting on the mods to let me post links so i can host the roms and recoverys
but if you want to mess with the roms your self you can edit the partition tables and get the roms to install.
id use the app "diskinfo" to check what partitions your system and data etc etc are useing and chainge this in the roms.
hope this helped
p.s. if not i could poss look at editing the aosp rom for you and host if for a bit
just waighting on beeing able to post links :s
Alcatel onetouch c1 pop
MY PHONES flash light or led light comes on but it wont come on at all jus remains black wont start ....i tried restoring rom but ,it was useless ,well i used the upgrade tool and there wasnt the right models for my phone what should i do now .oh and also my phone has no stock rom from nowhere on google im so in need of getting back my phone .how can i fix a bricked or whatever phone its a alcatel one touch pop c1 4015a
What is the online USB firmware updater? Mine is also bricked
Hello everyone! First of all thanks for reading through my post, I'm quite the newbie to this Android stuff so please bear with me.
So I ordered the Note 3 Pro online, and it arrived yesterday. I was very happy about the device, but not even a whole day went by and as I did a simple google search (maybe it was running an update on the background?) my phone crashed. It rebooted on it's own and ever since it just keeps getting stuck in the MI logo.
Sometimes the phone loads a bar and reboots without loading the whole way through. This morning it actually loaded all the way once. It made it into my initial screen but immediately rebooted.
Since then I have found that this is apparently a common issue. I was surprised to find that I couldn't go into recovery mode (just..why?) and that I would have to flash my phone. If someone would kindly answer them, I would love to ask just a few questions about this.
1) Is flashing the only/best approach to fixing this issue?
2) What tutorial do you guys recommend? Should I flash it with the locked bootloader, or should I try to get the official bootloader unlock thing from MI? I'm just looking for the most efficient way of getting my phone back, as I'm not one to fiddle that much with different ROMs and stuff.
As you can imagine having this issue on day 1 is a little exhasperating, and as a new comer to all this stuff, it's all abit overwhelming.
Thanks in advance for your time :highfive:
Flash the original MIUI ROM via EDL. It's described a 100 times here. If the problem persist it's hardware related
Hello all!
First of all, I am no developer.
Long story short.. I purchased an HTC 10 because I was sick and tired of my at&t galaxy s5 being bootlocked. I received the 10 and set out the next day to root it. I followed a video on youtube (not saying that the info was not correct...I may have done something wrong...not trying to discredit anybody) to the letter and lo and behold I ended up in a bootloop. My heart probably came close to a complete blockage at this point. This bootloop lasted maybe a minute before it would reboot. So... In my infinite wisdom I chose to relock the bootloader. Oh Boy!!! Fun times were ahead for me!! As soon as I relocked said bootloader, the bootloop increased its timing to about 1 point 5 seconds. I remember waking up on the floor in the fetal position. Now I am stuck with a phone that adb will not recognize. It does however recognize the device at the fastboot devices prompt. So my question is this.... Is this a salvageable phone? If so, How would one go about fixing this problem?
*** Relocked ***
htc_pmew1 pvt S-ON
os-2.28.617.8
I would prefer that the money I spent on this thing would amount to something more than a small ant bed.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Also I have been doing a lot of digging around and (I may be wrong) but. I could not find this scenario in the forums here. I apologize if this has already been covered.
...So..after looking around for a bit more, I discovered out that there is a way to flash a ruu/zip from an sd card. I have tried multiple times with what I thought were the right ones. As I am unable to boot into recovery, I feel I am limited as to what I should do. I have read about that I should wipe dalvik but I am very limited in my knowledge on an android system and would prefer to not mess this phone up anymore than it already is. I was trying to root and I used TWRP as the recovery but I never made it to the end before it started the loop. The Phone is an htc 10 unlocked version. and it just constantly reboots about 3 seconds apart. ADB says no device connected, so I cannot execute commands that way... really at a loss here. all the tutorials I have read refer to using and and being able to boot into rrecovery. when i boot into recovery, I get an immediate reboot and the 3 second bootloop forever. Is there a way to use twrp to somehow resolve this?Is there a tool that will help me at least get into recovery mode?
SOLVED... Ran across Batchtool by sneakyghost. Quite the bunch of tools there! Ended up solving my problem by placing the stock RUU in the root folder as the batch tool. Before I could not install from a factory RUU (would not recognize the phone through ADB or install the RUU. After the install of the batch tool I was able to get a clean install back to my factory settings.. Now I am free to mess it up again!!
BIG THANKS TO SNEAKYGHOST!!!!!
I'm unsure why the batch tool has worked for you and the sdcard method didn't - getting fastboot to work and all the bits and pieces together (drivers, Windows VCRedist, correct fastboot, correct adb) is usually more error prone than just identifying the correct zip and placing that in your sdcard root.
At this time, I'm a bit in a "scratch my head" mood, thinking this is weird. Same zip? Really the same zip didn't work from sdcard but would work in fastboot? I think I haven't come across that myself yet (non booting phones are a daily thing, almost).
I wish I had the time to analyze your steps with you, so I could gain understanding as to why that happened, so I can use that in the future, but alas! I have no time for XDA and deep digging around in issues of other people. Lately I can't even solve my own phone's problems anymore due to too many other things going on.
Well, glad it worked for your phone, anyhow. I'll keep this in mind for the next one messing up his/her phone.
Greetings all!
This is my first post on this awesome looking community forum.
Problem [aka I've been hacked by the NSA ]:
I was looking at my old Galaxy Nexus phone for photos and wanted to email them but soon after I connected to the wifi the phone tried to reboot and got into a boot loop.
I can get into the bootloader and recovery mode. But on boot the phone just shows the colorful X graphic.
Due Diligence: I've been researching for 3 or more hours with no easy solution.
My understanding is that I need to enable USB debugging in OS to connect the phone to my computer.
And then I can use some freeware software to recover.
I don't think it is enabled but I might have done it a long time ago.
Edit*** - Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did try the clear cache and reboot method
I've tried a few recovery softwares but the only one I think will work is a trial and will only list the data.
Here are two websites I found that I think are helpful of the two dozen or so websites/forums I searched.
(EDIT*** I can't post links yet)
1. A google help forum, I don't know any programming, so I don't know if this will work
**** Google "How to enable usb debugging if I can't access settings?"
2. This one looks interesting but step 2 is factory wipe.
Literally the majority of the websites/forums I found the community said the solutions either didn't work or the OP said the solution would wipe the data on the phone.
I guess I should have backed up these photos a long time ago
They aren't that important I guess but if anyone knows any safe free software or simple to understand process to do a recovery of data from an inaccessible phone I would love to see your reply.
I understand this isn't a simple problem to fix, and I know some people might not want to share how to do this because someone is loosing business but I myself am trying to start a small business and I don't really think I should spend the money on professional services. And I'm cheap af
Thank you for reading this post and thank you for any advice you can offer.

Hi there
I just got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global Version (SD) and I’ve got a few simple questions to throw after having some ideas about what I would like to do with it and to sail a little bit through several threads around here.
First before start touching, I’d like to know how “easy” is to brick a device nowadays (particularly this device) by doing some things such as flashing different roms, recovery, fastboot, etc. Are they flashed independently? What procedures are considered the most dangerous ones when it comes to brick the phone? I’m inexperienced since I come from a device with a forever-locked bootloader and I didn’t try much. (I’ve already unlocked bootloader in the Xiaomi).
Also, I'd like to know if there is any simple one tap app to root the device. I’ve seen around here a tutorial to root through twrp installation, and I was wondering if there were something easier available (I haven’t found), that need not to install a custom recovery. Also I’d like to know if in case of following twrp method, ota updates would still be available.
Last, the reasons why I want to root the device are to uninstall/remove/disable some native apps and to grant access to some other, but especially to have access to Manual Mode in stock camera app mainly to use different exposure times, and other manual options. I’ve seen a Mod also on the site, but the problem is that it is only for Sony back camera sensor, I think. However I’ve checked, and my phone brings a Samsung sensor (s5k5e8). Any guidance about if it is possible to enjoy manual mode in this case?
That’s everything. Hope any can comment on. Thanks.

Hi mate. I think you should try opening a different thread.
That said, If I were you, I would try doing a reset to the device and doing a fresh install of all your apps.
cheers
