Hi All, I have unlock ATT version, then switch to T mobile service (flash T mobile firmware). Now I switch to Sprint firmware. HOwever My ATT ver didn't have the band 25 and 26. Only have band 41. Sprint needs all 3 for better connection. Is there away to unlock 25 and 26 band?

The G965U and G965U1 are identical hardware wise and all support the same bands. What differentiates the G965U from the G965U1 is the that the G965U1 has the unlocked firmware (non carrier branded if that term makes more sense).
The only thing that differentiates one G965U from another G965U is the firmware. The firmware determines what bands are available as well as custom carrier settings/apps/configurations that is installed. For example if you properly flash the firmware for the Sprint G965U onto the AT&T G965U then it will have all the bands (and sprint customization/bloat) that the Sprint G965U version has.
To give you an example I have the sprint version, flashed it to the unlocked firmware, flashed to AT&T firmware and then finally to T-mobile. I didn't flash it in that order, that is just the different kinds of firmwares I have had on that phone.
Across the different firmware versions all necessary and needed bands were active and working just fine.

Yes, i put in Sprint Sim on the phone then the phone auto removed the Tmobile apps and installed bunch of Sprint apps. I checked the specs for ATT ver and only see band 41 avail online. After Sprint firmware installed, I check again *#0011# and only see band 41. I was too assumed everything should be identical both S9 plus U or U1 but there must me something got block by ATT and carrier firmwares still can't unlock it.

Did you flash the sprint firmware onto the at&t phone you have or did you just insert the sim card and let the phone apply the settings for the sim card?
If you did the latter (specifically just changing the sim card) this doesn't give you any of the carrier specific tweaks/customizations that can be found on the carrier firmware. For thse tweaks/customizations you need to flash the firmware for the carrier branded phone. So your better connection desire will most likely be a sprint firmware specific thing and not found on the at&t firmware.
Also looking up what the at&t branded phone supports and the sprint branded phone supports won't help much. It will only tell you what the two phones are configured to do for the carrier the phone is branded for. Those specs It do not tell you what the hardware can do (or that the hardware is the same whether it be the unlocked version from Samsung, the sprint branded one you buy from sprint or the at&t branded one purchased through at&t).

This makes sense. I'll will try to flash Sprint firmware on top right now. The reason I said tweaks/customization applied because the whole UI "Settings" of the change completely changed from Tmobile Pie to Sprint Pie (more buttons, header rename...) so I assume tweaks/customizations already applied when Sprint Simcard did its own things
Also I thought the base S9 Pie for U ver all the same. Only when you put the Carrier simcard in then they download their all carrier settings (Not in this case?

Carrier settings (APN, MMS/SMS settings, PRL, Roaming lists and related) are not quite the same when it comes to bands being enabled/disabled or carrier tweaks/customizations. Also I don't know if the base for the s9+ contains all the full carrier customizations/tweaks or not when it comes to android pie. If I had to guess I would say it probably comes with a somewhat generic one size fits all configuration... Perhaps along the lines of what the U1 firmware has.
Though I would presume that the base does not have all the carrier customizations/tweaks because the carriers release android pie at different times.
As an example (for illustrative purposes to explain my presumption) AT&T releases the new update before T-mobile does. T-mobile releases the update before Verizon does. Because Verizon would have been the last to release the update both AT&T and T-Mobile would not have any of the additions Verizon would have made.
When flashing the sprint firmware onto the AT&T phone you have you may need to flash the U1 firmware first, do a factory data reset and then flash the G965U firmware for sprint. Someone else might have some insight if this is still applicable for Android Pie, but when I flashed from sprint to t-mobile using the Oreo firmware that is the process I had to go through.

I would debate on the example (for illustrative purposes to explain my presumption) you had above, I don't think carriers are related. I would think Google/Samsung (Google may give the base to Samsung first then Samsung distribute to each carrier) give each carrier the base then each carrier goes customize their own settings with their own times to release to us.
Yes the correct way to flash to U1 then flash back to be clean (I guess And I did that when switch from ATT to Tmobile) But i have to much to setup again, so may just dirty flash Sprint now
PS: Still can't find the Sprint Pie in Sammobile website. Only Verizon and Tmobile and Generic ver

I am not sure if this would work or not and I haven't done this for a while. I might have the wrong service code or the menu option may have changed with android pie. So if I do someone feel free to correct it.
Note - if you see a message like RAT access/menu isnt allowed (or something like this) power off the phone, take the sim card out and power the phone on without the sim card in it. The process should work then.
*Open the phone app and enter ##DATA# (##3282#)
*Choose edit and if prompted enter a total of siix zeros as the MSL
*Select LTE to edit the active bands
From there you can enable or disable bands. If the band isn't listed you simply cant just add it. I would suggest flashing the carrier firmware as this would have it enabled.
Also I do believe that there are carrier customization/tweaks that may only be on the firmware from the carrier. Swapping the sim may change a few apps, change a few menu items and apply settings from the sim card onto the phone. It also may apply some (or perhaps most) carrier settings. I have not seen anything that gives me cause to believe that it applies all the carrier customization/tweaks.
If that were the case why did my g96u1 (or sprint g965u) firmware not show video calling or get provisioned for it, but flashing the tmobile firmware allowed for the feature to be enabled and provisioned. Also on the tmobile firmware I have had better signal retention and strength (not the signal bars, actual signal strength measurements on the phone) then with the unlocked firmware (or the original firmware that was on the phone with the tmobile sim).
If swapping the sim installs the tmobile firmware then that should have been all it took and I could continue to use the unlocked firmware, but this was not the case. The only features that were enabled were (outside of menu changes and app additions) VoLTE and WiFi calling. Now if this alone indicates carrier firmware specific features/tweaks/customizations can only reside on carrier firmware, then how could one declare it wouldn't also effect what bands are enabled/disabled. Like I said I haven't seen anything that says otherwise, but from what I have seen first hand there are somethings that are apparently only on the carrier's firmware that is not available on the others.

you should have first put an Indian sim card and then used it with other sim cards.
as far as i remember that used to be the case with samsung devices.

Have you been to India to unlock? I got Indian SIM and the network unlocks when at least one of SIM card is Indian, but when I eject Indian SIM the network become locked again. How have you solved the problem?
I am facing the same issue as well, it works only if the one of indian SIM card is in the slot, anyone has a solution?
Yes, I have a solution for it. I had the same issue but it's fixed now. U need to install one indian sim and one other country. Go under the network coverage of Indian sim. Spend a day day there make sure your phone can send sms and use mobile data. I m not sure how the verification is done may be its through sms. Once the verification is done u can return back to your own country and use your own country sim without any indian sim card. Mine is fixed I had installed airtel in sim 1 and my Nepal's sim in sim 2 and took that phone in india fir few days and when I returned back to Nepal. I replaced indian sim with Nepal's sim and now network lock is gone. I m able to make calls and send sms using only Nepal's sim.
after lg g8x android 11 update, mobile data is not working. has anyone faced the problem?im from nepal.

I'm at my wit's end on this. Calls stopped working the other day due to 3G disablement as far as I can tell. AT&T model unlocked and using with Simple Mobile on T-Mobile network. Calls would just say "Calling" for a long time and then eventually disconnect. I could switch to GSM and make calls again, but slow data. Simple told me to get a new SIM and when trying to activate, it shows ineligible IMEI due to no Volte it seems.
I'm trying to get that fixed, but running into various issues.
LM-G850UM
I tried to crossflash (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tutorial-crossflash-bypass-opid-mismatched-error.4345963/)
I flashed G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz but it didn't ask me to change the model, so it still shows LM-G850UM software G850UM30c. IMEI is the same.
Since this didn't get calls back or Volte, I tried updating the MBN (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ther-qualcomm-powered-lg-devices-too.4343655/)
Data shows 4G. Calls don't even try to connect.
I don't know what to do next and don't have much time to try to figure it out. I like the G8X, so I'm hoping there's a way to save it.
Any thoughts from the experts?

I crossflashed to general firmware. Where's the best place for the TMobile firmware? Just off their website? Will that lock the phone again, or will I still be able to use the Simple Mobile Service?

That's where I got my KDZ before. I used the one here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg850qm-firmwares/ and used the 3/24/22 version for Android 11. When I flashed it with LG UP, it didn't ask me to change models, which I'm not sure if that's why it didn't trigger it to start working again.

Most are using the international firmware for the G8 and G8x models.Which is what the qm firmware is.If you're carrier is T-Mobile or any T-Mobile MVNO,I would solely use T-Mobile firmware. My G8x is AT&T branded and factory unlocked, and I tried using Tmobile service about 2 months ago and was having issues sending text messages.I could place and receive calls and get text but couldn't send them period.
Yeah, so my G8X is AT&T unlocked. AT&T didn't activate VOLTE on this model, so when T-Mobile shut down their 3G network, Simple Mobile calls won't work and the current IMEI shows it's not eligible (because of the model.) At least that's my understanding so far.
So for the G8, is this the firmware I should crossflash? https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg820tm-firmwares/ or I could try the QM which may or may not work. Is that correct? Basically going to the 820 firmwares instead of the 850?

I would go with the T-Mobile firmware since you're on their network. It wouldn't make a difference with VoLTE enabled with an AT&T sim.Once you pull the sim,and swap it it defaults back and turns the IMS settings off until it receives the configuration from their servers.Yes,820 firmware. It at least has the higher android builds, and better security patches.Once you put T-Mobile firmware on the device it should all work regardless of IMEI.
Edit:Make a back-up.Don't forget to do that first!
OK Surge....you've been helpful and seem to know what you're doing. What did I mess up?
I followed the cross flash instructions. I flashed the 820QM firmware first, and System loaded but the touchscreen wouldn't respond. I could only use the hard phone buttons. Decided to go to what you recommended with 820TM and it wouldn't boot at all - black screen - but I could still get to QFIL and LGUP.
I reflashed 850QM and touchscreen works again and I'm back to where I started.
When I flashed 820s, It did ask me if I wanted to change model numbers this time and I said Yes. And it asked it said it was changing some partitions on the 820 loads.
I may have been working on this too late. I appreciate your help so far.

I think someone else encountered this once before, and it was caused by certain manufacturering dates of the device. Some models can use 820 firmware, and some can only use 850.Looks as if yours is kind of stuck with 850 firmware only.I think the AT&T version I have I could go either way it worked with no problems.I still have my G8x but never really used it.I bought it because it came with the dual screen attachement, and $125 I took it.Here's my Sprint copy if you want to give it a try. It's a LUNS copy minus LUNS 5 for IMEI information etc.I was in the same boat as you on certain features not working with AT&T at one point myself and had to crossflash the Sprint version of the device. With that being said, try this one from LG Fans first. If that doesn't work, try my LUNS Sprint copy and let me know which ones works the best.

So interesting news....I obviously didn't try making calls last night at 2AM, but apparently reflashing with the same exact 850QM software I used before seems to have fixed the issue. Maybe changing the model to 820 and then changing back to 850? Who knows? That's like the 3rd thing that happened with this process that I have no idea why it started working differently, but hey I'm happy and back up and rolling.
Thanks for all of your help, Surge! I was truly at wits end, and had already ordered a new phone, even though I'm happy with the G8X overall. Now I can return that and keep rolling with the G8X.
Thanks again, you were a huge help and its much appreciated!

Glad you got it working!I run in to a same similar issue with a Note 8 I have, and it being an international unlocked AT&T phone. No calls would work period, and swapped firmware over and over and finally started to give up and flashed the stock firmware back and it worked. It's something that hangs in Android with the changed IMS settings that are sent to the device. It's all odd at the moment with carriers, but nothing surprises me anymore..lol..

Yes,the firehose will always work regardless of the Android version. Also from what I have read, yes the same procedures work for A12 for root and unlocking the bootloader. As always, backup your firmware before rooting and attempting to unlock the bootloader just in case something goes wrong!

Do you think there is any point to crossflash
USA G850QM40b_00_NAO_US_OP_0805.kdz
on ATT G8X to be used on Tmobile network? I can do the VOLTE patch after rooting it . is it worth the headache?

QM versions are international unlocked versions of the firmware. My branded AT&T G8x had issues sending text messages with T-Mobile service I do remember.I crossflahed my variant with the QM version and it worked flawless after that. But,I do have a full backup copy of the AT&T firmware if I ever decide to put it back.

May I ask how did you back it up?
also if I have androind 11 ATT can I crossflash to android 12? that should not be an issue right?
the partitioning is not changed in the update?
I just bought US model of s23ultra, but I actually live in Taiwan
the issue is none of it's the carrier aggregation is supported here
so I wonder if it is possible to flash SM-S9180's firmware on SM-S918U1 device ??
if it can:
1. Can I get future update by OTA??
2. Will it break Knox??
if it can't, is there any other alternative way to change the the carrier aggregation setting ??

Don't do it. You will brick device.
You can't flash U or U1 phones to B models it will brick your phone.
To enable carrier aggregation, check this thread

Hm for GSM have tp work because all bands in the world some.
Well tty this, get modem_a backup from verizon firmware and restore to EU rom device, or you can extract from verizon kdz modem_a and flash and see what will happens.
Did you try in europe with werizon firmware ?
Yes this been, first think whats i do. But in original version Verison, its not posible activate simcard (beacose i have T-Mobile.) Verizon write its not simcard from Verizon, then its imposible make any another call. ... Oh my god. I try restore original VM modem_a to EU-A12 and now works call in EDGE. but quality in EDGE its terrible.. i hear but he hear me really bad..

working now 3G for you with WZ modem ?
3G my Operator in Czech Republic definitly cancel(many towers change 3G for 4G network.) this i dont know, but 2G for calling work, same for 4G/LTE + Volte work, and data same. But its any issue not brake modem_a from VM and add Suppport 5G brand ?
What happens if you just use the stock modem image from the EA-A12 firmware?
That makes the most sense, should actually work best.

It's strange that behavior... I have several North American V60s (AM, VM, TMO).
I crossflashed some on EA firmware, without problems.
The only thing I had to do to get VoLTE and WiFiCall was BL-Unlock, Root and /System RW.
You probably already know the following thread link as a starting aid (especially posting 3)...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/v60-bootloader-unlock-and-magisk-root.4358785/
Oh yes, I forgot... I live in Germany...
