INSTALLING STEPS********************************************Prerequisites**********************************************1.If coming from stock, you MUST be on NOUGAT FIRMWARE2.Own a v20 (duh)3.Unlocked bootloader (if you are using a us996 or vs995, i can assist you, if not, look around on xda for a guide)********************************************************************************************************STEPS:
1.Reboot into recovery via the hardware button combo
2. Wipe system, data, delvik, cache, system and data
3.Flash the OS
4.Flash anything else you want to run (magisk, etc) DO NOT FLASH ANY KERNEL UNLESS IT"S AN UPDATED 4,4 KERNEL
5.Reboot
6.Enjoy Android 12 on the V20
That's right! We're finally releasing the first 4.4 open beta, starting with Android 12.1 for G5, G6 and V20!
I'm the one of the main kernel devs on this project, so i'll be adding info on this part of the development and beta testing.
________________________________________________________
To anyone who wants to beta test this and the upcoming CRDroid rom by @ROMSG: We're using a dedicated github organization to handle feedback, bugs, trees and general development.
That organization is located here, with @xxseva44 moving the trees above to that same org soon:
LGE G5 G6 V20
Devices, vendor trees and new 4.4 kernel for LGE G5, G6 and V20 devices - LGE G5 G6 V20
github.com
If you have any issues that span across multiple roms using this newer kernel and updated device trees, or simply know that what you're facing is something that's bound to happen irrespective of a specific ROM, please open an issue in that org detailing the problem, your phone model, etc.
________________________________________________________
For a list of features that already work in kernel 4.4, we have a wiki page with just that:
Kernel V4.4 New _ Feature states in Android 11 ROMs
Contribute to LGE-G5-G6-V20/msm8996_lge_kernel development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
________________________________________________________
Kernel issues should ideally be opened here:
Issues · LGE-G5-G6-V20/msm8996_lge_kernel
Contribute to LGE-G5-G6-V20/msm8996_lge_kernel development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
Please note that this kernel is shared by the LG G5, V20 and G6, so when opening an issue, we need to know at least which device you're using, but the model (VS995, H872, etc) can give us more insight.
________________________________________________________
ROM issues will probably work best as xda posts for now, since those are already going to be separated by phone.
________________________________________________________
Quick primer of what to expect:
For the kernel: It's fast, really fast. Not only did we clean up tons of LGE code from the kernel trees, saving up a lot of memory and overhead, but also added lots of optimizations on top of a custom branch to make what's essentially a mix of @askermk2000's mk2000 and my own SwanKernel.
For the roms: We've been working with people from G5 and G6 as well, and in turn managed to do a major overhaul of the rom-side blobs, drivers and hals, resulting on much improved performance and stability, even during internal tests.
For issues: We didn't iron out all of the issues yet and are far from testing those things in a large scale, hence the open beta. We already have some known issues to fix, such as the much slower charge curve, usb OTG not being as fully fledged on the V20 as it was on 3.18, IR working slightly better than 3.18 but still not great, camera still freezing randomly... In any case, most of the other kernel features either work just like in 3.18, or better.
________________________________________________________
Known issues outside of Android 12 and 4.4:
Both TWRP and SHRP can have issues while flashing 12 due to incomplete support, so be careful and have a complete backup (including the recovery image itself) beforehand.
Performance on the initial build. No tweaks. Consider supporting the 4.4 kernel devs(@askermk2000 & @AShiningRay) as this is mostly thanks to their hard work and dedication, as well as insanity to do such a thing to an lg device. You can expect it to get even better as I iron out issues within 12, this score was achived with excessive log spam, looking at you radio.
Some kernel tunables I'd recommend changing to make your experience better:
Change "down_rate_limit_us" from 10 000 on both big and LITTLE cores to 25 000 on the little cores, and 20 000 on the big cores. This will significantly improve responsiveness.
Change the minimum gpu frequency from 133mhz to 214 mhz, This will improve the ui rendering and smoothness.
You will obviously need root to change these.
These changes will appear in the next release which will likely come in the following weeks.

Hi this sounds like it could be awesome! Is there plans to get radio working so that the phone could be a daily driver with this, or is that not a focus?
Thanks for your hard work everybody!

He's been busy lately but we have multiple devs looking into the radio and fingerprint and several other issues looking into the issue. Mainly it was due to the kernel needing to be updated to 4.4 (which we did) but that brought on issues, such as the radio. Just give it time and they will be solved in due time!

Theres a donation link in my about section on my profile As for the non working issues, They're easy to fix, although cellular is the only tricky one. Well that and the powered dock issue. However they should be fixed as time goes on.

XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we cannot promise that it will work for you,
although we don't recommend it, we can tell you that this has been tested.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

1] Previous thread was deleted by me for some reasons. This is a stable build. You can flash this.
2] Why is this not in orig-development? Because people view android-development forum first and it gets 'more traffic' hence.
3] Bugs? Report them over Telegram or on the thread. Better if you Telegram. We are online 24/7.
4] Problems? We have a vast community over Telegram. You might want to ask there and get your answers asap. Links are mentioned above.
5] ROM has OTA updater and will give you a notification when a new build is come. We have a release schedule which we follow sincerely. Release builds are done only on Saturdays every twice a week unless a major fix has to be implemented. If you do not get a notification, you can manually update the ROM.

Could you please tell us if scrolling is working fine? I was using 06/25 build and scrolling was a little bit glitchy.
When I first flashed the ROM (01/07) earlier today, I had this problem too.
Anyway, after some minutes of use and a reboot, that problem vanished and it became very smooth!
Yep. Maybe your cache was empty. I need private beta testers. Please pm me here or on telegram. Need to test loads of stuff. Including private stuff I'm building like O (preview 2)

The rom is smooth, no glitch while scrolling. I notice one thing, there is no way to assign the volume rocker to awake the device. Under Hardware button I enable it, but it disables it self. That is the only bug I found so far. Sorry I don't post this in Telegram but I'm not going to join a community which I will hardly be part of.

ROM is Smooth AF. Wipe system and try again. Sometimes Gapps are the one causing the lags.
I usually boot the ROM without Gapps and test it. I flash the Gapps later only if I'm going to make use of the Google environment.

2.1, 23.12.2018 - Christmas update
Code:
* (!)improved stability: using Oreo 4.9 gcc - this theoretically means a lot less random reboots
* December Android Security Bulletin: r21
* d851/f400/g3ds/ls990: really small possibility of audio quiet noise, bug or improvement - need feedback
* d855: added vendor security patch level
* device trees: complete rework
* kernel: fixed LG drivers and FunctionFS(USB) incompatibility (not tested)
* kernel: reworked netfilter and O_TMPFILE backport
* (?)ls990: maybe nfc fix? untested after trees rework
* removed FlipFlap(SmartCover) due to build issue
* switched to new Lights and Vibrator HAL
* vs985: small GPS capabilities fix
2.0, 15.10.2018
Code:
* initial bringup
Reserved 2
So far seems smooth, except camera is not working (camera app can't connect to the camera, same happens with footej)
F400 device can not boot.

Same on my LS 990 wifi not working.
If the build doesn't look like booting up, it's because I released the wrong series of build with audio HAL issue I already fixed. it may take some time for me to rebuild all five roms but I'll try to do it as fast as I can. Sorry for that.
Sent from my Galaxy S8+ using XDA Labs
It's ok man, take your time. I've got a vs985, D850 and a D851. When you're ready to drop, I'll test the rom on all 3.
Thanks again
Fix the wifi and nfc for d851 and drop in battery
Your working on 5 different Rom's for various G3 variants, all with new software that most of the new phones don't have yet. Since I'm not paying you to keep my phone updated I'll show some appreciation and wait until you can do what you can do. If something isn't working I'll put that on here with respect, again since you do this on your time and for my phone, knowing that when time permits you'll do what you can when you can. Live your life, I'm leeching off you, I'm in debt for the fact you keep me ahead of the software curve and keep me from spending 800 bills to basically get the software your giving out for free? Know I've posted in a few of your threads, but not sure I ,we, can say it enough. You owe me nothing, I owe you a thank you and all the time you need, along with me acknowledging the fact that you don't even use this phone any longer and are doing it for the G3 community. No attention needed here, it gets frustrating to read through your threads and see all the demands? Or complaints that's not motivating or helpful. Unsatisfied flashers? Try to Find another Dev that's willing to do what you're doing for my benefit.

Do not demand, respect that the dev is doing what he does sacrificing personal time and maybe money for free. So give constructive feedback or don't bother at all.

I like this rom so far on my D850. I installed this rom then restored my backed up boot sector from latest pie crDroid to get it to work. For it being a beta and lacking features it is not bad. It starts off really sluggish and choppy but smooths with some use. I would use this as a daily if I could get any camera app to work. I look forward to seeing what else Lawnstep and Team Potato can tweak out. Thanks for the work devs.

A positive post, relating what is good in the rom, knowing it's an early release and there will be issues! Glad to see, we all need to understand that this is free, he's doing all the work on his time trying to live a life and still keep our phone running the newest software! I'm extremely grateful that your out there. Issues will be in any non factory release, time and patience corrects those issues. HardStyl3r does this for us with nothing in return. We as a community need to keep that in mind when stating problems we find, respect his work as well as the time he spends. PLEASE take the time to read the thread before posting a problem, most of the problems have ALREADY been addressed in the thread or by the Dev on the first page. Do a little of the work that needs to be done to find the answer, if it's not mentioned then by all means ask. Someone will help. That's why this is here. It's frustratingly to see a post saying this or that isn't working when 2 posts up it's already addressed stating that it will be corrected in next release? Read the thread, search the thread. You'll find most answers without having to ask.. long rant, my apologies, refreshing to see your post just basically saying thank you for what the Dev does for us .
update is coming out soon
23.12.2018 - new update!
Changelog is available in #2 post, enjoy!

D855 , problem with BT
In LG g3 D855:
Hello and thank you for your effort!!!
POSP has 2 problems:
- Bluetooth does not pair and goes down
- does not accept NTFS SDcard (nor ext4); only fat32
Due to those problems I did not test anymore.
Continue with 10/22 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-lineageos-15-0-alpha-t3689278); this one works very well as I said in the thread.

Hows the battery life on this compared to the stock rom?
Tried NGK kernel but everytime it went into A bootloop, any way to install NGK kernel? And yeah face unlock is missing although the camera IR app is working perfectly fine, which means IR camera support is there but the feature is not implemented in the ROM, smooth UI and transitions, Dead Cells lagged 15% more compared to NGK + PE plus ROM A12. It's a great ROM for daily use, kudos to the work. And yeah I think there is some Background app management issue, because Dead Cells download some data files when opening for the first time, as I put my phone down during all this, the download stopped and never again continued, had to reinstall from playstore, maybe a Lil aggressive ram management in A13. Edit - Magisk normal version works, multitasking while listening to music causes glitch and lag in the audio output, looks like cpu is under pressure.

NGK doesn't support system_ext roms yet. Only SilverCore and Rockstar kernels support system_ext atm.
Keep in mind A13 for our device it's in early stage and the updates will make it more polished and bug free over the time.
Beryllium got fast the Android 13, thanks to devs.

Flashed the Rom with the latest official recovery. The build was working fine but after 1 hour the storage could not be accessed. I tried different file explorers. None of them worked. Some crashed. The storage did not even show up on the laptop. Tried a lot of ways but it was a failure. Reverted back to A12. The stock camera app was crashing and did not even open once. I had to install a different mod of gcam to get it work. the traffic monitor was not there. After reverting back the A12 had some sort of glitch that kept swiping my screen back to home. Now had to flash Cdroid inorder to get my things done. I know it was beta but storage was something of a basic thing . The network did not show up on the first boot of this ROM. I had to reboot it to get it work. The wifi kept searching for open wifis despite of turning that feature off. I couldn't take logs since I did this in the middle of my work and everything got messed up. But please if anyone faced the same issues I faced please get a logcat. I respect the devs work but has a lot of bugs. Indeed Beta.

In the other thread a user reported that with other ROM ( derpfest or something similar) the slider works. So workaround exist. Just need to find and apply...
Hi guys, I have a Oneplus Nord 2 and I would like to try a custom rom. I've had experience with custom roms with my previous phones (e.g. Pixel 2 xl) but this is the first time I would flash a rom with a Mediatek chip. Is there a step to step guide on how to flash this rom, starting from the android 12 rom? Thanks.
As of right now, the OS isn't recognizing the alert-slider (no logs when changing its state). It has been implemented on other Android 12 ROMs (which are worse that this new release), so I guess that we have to wait for a new re-implementation.
Looking through the Telegram GC, it looks like it runs well and with good SoT, just have to wait for this.
is there a face unlock ? must have for me
Pocket mode working?
I have one mor question about this ROM. If new realeses will come, can you update it without loss data?
Hi,
Thanks for this rom, I have been testing it for a week, and here are the issues I have found:
* Brightness - reacts extremely slowly, it's not adjusting properly to env.
* Problems with Bluetooth and my watch sometimes it can't be "discovered"
* Camera - can't even compare to stock.
* Android Auto and Spotify - Sometimes it produces crackling sounds. (Probably related to Bluetooth)
* Battery drain issue
* Some apps like Fakty (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.tvn.android.fakty&hl=pl&gl=US) have low quality in video materials (drm? missing hw acceleration?)

Auto-brightness works bad because of proprietary blobs that can't be ported to other ROMs.
The included cam-app sucks, a GCAM is pretty much needed: get a right version and XML here.
I haven't tested the ROM yet but people on the main Telegram GC basically said that it was on-par with OOS11, both battery and performance wise.
I don't know about Fakty, but in general there is this GPU issue which could be only resolved with the OSS-vendor. The situation should still be better than PE12.

About LineageOS
LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for set-top boxes, smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform. It is the successor to the custom ROM CyanogenMod, from which it was forked in December 2016 when Cyanogen Inc. announced it was discontinuing development and shut down the infrastructure behind the project. Since Cyanogen Inc. retained the rights to the Cyanogen name, the project rebranded its fork as LineageOS.
LineageOS was officially launched on December 24, 2016, with the source code available on GitHub. Since that time, LineageOS development builds now cover more than 185 phone models with over 1.9 million active installs, having doubled its user base in the month February–March 2017 And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.
About Galaxy S2 running Android 13.0!
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my thread for i9100 (2011) running Android 13! Currently I'm not using my S2 as daily drive anymore since 3G is turned off. I used the phone primary for calling and WhatsApp but without 3G this isn't working for me. But nevertheless it didn't stopped me for porting Android 13 on this legendary phone.
Most of the work has been done by "LineageOS Ultra Legacy"-team. I don't know if this is the right teamname but someone added me in the Telegram group and they gave me some hints during development. Thanks guys! I was quite late starting porting this ROM and I was happy most BPF issues were already solved there. The i9100's kernel (still 3.0.101) needed some patches related to random=syscall and bpf in order to boot Android at all. That took a while to get it stable passing the factory i9100 splashscreen. From that point I could build LineageOS with the sources of "LineageOS Ultra Legacy"-team.

How to install LineageOS 20.0
If you are familiar with the installation of custom ROMs than you probably already know what to do.
If you already have Lineage 19.1 running, just do a full clean install in TWRP and your good to go.
I personally still use the old TWRP 3.3.1-1 because TWRP 3.6.1 fails to make the Magisk enabled kernel file I create seperatly for every release.
For now please look for detailed instructions here to get LineageOS 19.1 running first.
How to apply Magisk-kernel on top of LineageOS 20.0
Normally you flash the Magisk.zip or install it with using the MagiskManager app. But our device is ancient and uses a deprecated partition/boot procedure. Magisk needs to update the ramdisk-image but that is integrated into the kernel-image (zImage). Therefore I created this seperate kernel-image (zImage-file) with the Magisk modified ramdisk-image.
Copy the Magisked kernel on the SD-card of your phone.
This is the second download-file in the download section ending with ...magisk_boot.img.
Reboot into recovery (TWRP)
In TWRP
Choose Install
Choose Install Image
Now you can select ...magisk_boot.img
Choose Boot
And flash it
Reboot into Android
Download Magisk from https://magiskmanager.com
If you download the .zip, rename it to .apk
Install the Magisk App in Android and follow its instructions

Wow, thank you for the hard work! Didn't expect to see android 13 on the s2, so this was a pleasant surprise, gonna keep me awake tonight. I got a second galaxy s2 a few days ago, so I will definitely try this out.
Unfortunately, it appears that the provided download of the rom is corrupted, attempting to flash it on the phone returns a ''zip file is corrupt error'' and on further inspection most files are missing from the zip compared to lineage os 19.1, 7zip also reports that the archive is corrupted while trying to extract it. I already tried downloading it three times just to be certain, no avail.
Maybe something is up with AFH, initially it says 506.2MB, then starts downloading 131MB?

I'm only getting 131MB out of 506MB of the zip file as well on Android File Host.
Also, congrats rlNanDo for keeping development alive for the i9100! I'm glad I have this phone just to see what's possible.

I see! Hmm that's strange. I'll try uploading it again.
Edit: It succeeds uploading, but when downloading it is still a portion of the actual file size of 506MB.... I will try uploading later the day.
Unbelievable.. I still can't upload. It now fails instead of a faulty success message after upload. Has anyone an idea to host roms besides androidfilehost?

Thank you for long life famous subj.
Work well here.
Please, look at possibility to upload both installation files to Mega. Could not get androidfilehost since your announcement.
Just installed it on my S2! Seems to be running alright so far. Here are some bugs I'm facing right now.
Text is small in the launcher (and very slightly so in Settings?)
Brightness does not work
Bluetooth does not connect to headset (Pixel Buds A)
Cameras do not work
Getting random crashes during usage
Small dot in lock screen when password is not set, around the same location as a lock would be when a password is set
No ambient display settings
Camera preview is wide until first picture is taken
I'll update this list as I spot things on Build #1.
Awesome that Android 13 even runs on this thing! Amazing job to the whole team that brought this to life!
If this list seems critical, I really don't mean it that way. I just want to try help spot bugs
awesome work

I think its very smooth , but I think button navigation is better because pressing Home button brings a reboot of the device , on buttons its just fine,.

Which zip file did you download and try to install? The incomplete one from Android File Host? Or the one from Mega Uploads mentioned above?
