Hello
I got this tablet SM-T225 and used it with T Mobile in the US, but the data stops working a lot. some times it shows 4G on the notification but no internet, other times it shows "E" in place of "4G" and very very slow internet or no internet. I tried moving to different location but the same problem, some times work and other times doesn't while the phone and my other tablets work normally. the WIFI works without a problem.
the tablet had CSC CHO and the service provider software version showing OWO CHO
the tablet is rooted and bootloader unlocked.
my questions
is it a tablet problem or this model doesn't work reliably in the us?
or it needs to be flashed with different firmware?
thanks

Seem bootloader ok , firmware ok, try to clean flash with stock.
But now where are you? Chile or US. If live in us why not installed US firmware Region.?
I am in the US and this model is not used in the states by any provider, no firmware for it in US as far as I know https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-T225
I flashed it before with stock firmware (CHO) after I flashed it with magisk patched boot loader but same problem, I will give it another try now. at first when I flashed it with magisk I used in the in the CSC slot HOME_CSC_OWO_ but later I used CSC_OWO_ if that matters.
unfortunately after flashing stock firmware https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-T225/CHO/T225XXU1BVGB same problem.
I have this tablet in the USA on att post paid with a "phone" based sim. It can txt via the native mssgs app or Google messages. It won't make phone calls via the native app. Voip calls over Google voice will work.
Also tmobile sells this tablet as a the sm-t227 and it works fully ont their network

Can't used sm-t225 with your provider. Sorry
I am aware that the 227 is used by T Mobile, but I read a comment on XDA that the Bootloader of 227 used in the US is not unlockable and I went with the 225 to be able to unlock the bootloader
I am returning.
I appear to have basically the same issue. I cqn send texts but mobile data just does not register. I have model T227u that was sold through Fido in canada. I hqve a 12 gb data plan and everything works fine on a phone. (I also have a note 9 that is starting to crap out.)
It is running android 13 and is rooted with magisk 26.1 patched boot img
solution for this issue is to just Flash one of the SM-T225 official firmwares for T-Mobile Europe. (I switched it to using the Poland (T-Mobile) - TPL version. T225XXS2CWA6

Now, that IS interesting, particularly if that conclusion applies to every "unlocked" version of T225 sold in the Western Hemisphere. Mine was sold by Amazon's on line from store, specifically advertised to work as phone etc. Been trying to solve by GSI, twrp root for a while. Getting an "involuntary" refund from Amazon so it's worth trying.

I got myself a MediaPad S7-302u on Tesco Thailand yesterday, and the first thing I did was to update the firmware to the International ICS available on the website. New firmware is great, all is working, I might change to a "modded/tweaked" version here from XDA like I do on my Galaxy S2, former Galaxy S, gf's Galaxy 5, etc...
Little problem... apparently the version on the website is for MediaPad S7-301u. Only difference between them seems to be frequency of the 3G networks. The tablet is working beautifully, GPS, mobile data, etc, EXCEPT for 3G, in the network I use, AIS/1-2-Call. I don't have a big problem in using Edge, I do the same with my S2, to save battery, and I don't care about the reduced speed (Edge here works well, I get usually close to the 384kbps max speed), but I'd like to have the option to, eventually, one day... go to 3G. The problem is that I can't seem to find ANY firmware versions for the 302u!
Any idea where those are hiding? Tks!
Install huawei mediapad Russian version which was released on 30th May, it solved my 3G issue with my network.

Interesting. The 303U is the T-Mobile Springboard which is what I have.
I have two SIM cards in Canada with different 3G-only carriers, and a 303U Springboard unlocked from T-Mobile. One carrier uses AWS 3G (same as T-Mobile) and the tablet sees the network but cannot connect to it at all. The other carrier uses 850/1900 3G and the 303U supports 1900 but not 3G, so it does get connectivity with occasional dropouts.
I was never able to connect to the AWS network before the upgrade but I didn't try very hard. After the ICS upgrade I have still been unable to get on the AWS network and I tried in-store with a SIM from another AWS network too, to no avail.
From before the upgrade, I did capture an update.zip that seems to contain modem files for the T-Mobile Springboard, but the last time I tried to flash modem files directly I lost my IMEI and SIM unlock until I did a full reinstall of ICS.
Not sure either about 302U firmwares.
I just read on development forum a 302u ICS firmware has just been released. I might try that one later, it's just quite annoying to lose everything on every flash, specially on stock ROMs, with no root.

You can add root to any ROM. Download the CWM-based recovery from here (note it does NOT do backups properly so you can't rely on that):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23601045&postcount=7
And also place the SuperSU zip from here on the root of your external SD card:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
Flash CWM in fastboot as described, to both recovery and recovery2, and then you may have to try a few times to get into recovery. From a totally off state, hold down the volume "UP" key (which is the one pointing AWAY from the power button) and hold down power until it vibrates. Let go of power and hold on to the volume key. Then in CWM you can find the SuperSU zip on SD and flash it. Now you're rooted and you can take a Titanium Backup.
BUT if you ever want to do an official upgrade now, you will need to revert to a stock recovery. Take the recovery.img from any ICS firmware package and flash that in fastboot to recovery and recovery2. Or if you are every currently on an HC ROM you need to use an HC recovery.
Something else to try... worst case scenario is you'll have to wipe anyway. Download the Huawei firmware zip, extract the dload directory, and then open the update.zip. Delete the userdata.img.ext4 from that zip. Put the modified dload directory on external SD and proceed as usual. If it installs correctly it should (I hope?) leave your data partition alone.
According to member cmstlist below are the different between huawei official releases.
302u is an 850/1900/2100 version
301u is 900/2100. T-Mobile Springboard is 303u
AWS/1900/2100. AT&T's is 312u.
I thinks because of using wrong FW updates some times experienced 3G/HSPA issue.
Should I ?

I have the 7A-301U. (Orange Tahiti UK) that came with ICS (Andy4). Works perfectly BUT abruptly stops ringing after one second on attempting to reach any 3G Signal Provider. (correct Orange EE sim inserted) . Similarly, if I attempt the simple task of dialing for my own IMEI ..... #06# Question: Should I re-Firmware from the Huawei site.
Ciao,ringrazie salute.
There's a new Mediapad s7 302 firmware on Huawei site (Dec 13). It says network function and official release version. It's still ICS.
312u = 302 ?

Can I use the official 302 Firmware in my AT&T 312u?
Hello,
i use the software XperiFirm to download firmwares for my Z5C.
I live in Austria but there are only three providers in the list from Austria.
I have a phone without any branding and i don't know which one i should use because i am not a user of any of this providers.
Is it possible to use for example the T-Mobile firmware even if i don't have a T-Mobile Sim Card?
And is it also possible to use a Firmware from another country?
Best regards

there might be problem with sim card if you flash USA roms cause they more restriction & ...
but other than that you flash any official firmware with same android version.
:good:
Normally you can use any version for E5823.
The difference between the austrian roms are that providers pack some of their apps into the rom( like "a1 apps" or "mein a1" for example. If you want a rom without provider apps you can use the customized de version for germamy for example.
However you could of course run into a little problem by using a rom from another country that i had myself.
From what you said, i assume you are neither using a1, t-mobile nor drei as your provider. All of the other providers in austria like bob, hot or upc are using the network infrastructure of one of the those 3 big providers by national roaming.
However his could result in you to have allow roaming all the time to use mobile data. Could cause costs if you live near the boarder or if you forget to turn of when you leave country.
I had this problem with the customized de firmware for germany with which i got my device. My provider "Ge org" wasn't recognized correctly. After flashing the A1 firmware( Ge org is using A1 network) all works properly.

I also believe this should be the best choice for you.
If you stay unrooted you should have no problems with OTA updates. Warranty should be afaik no problem if you don't unlock your bootloader, which is not needed to install another stock rom. However i don't know for sure, cause i don't care much about warranty since i repair hardware issues on my devices by myself

That's up to you.
A dirty flash should run and work properly. But a dirty flash (especially when your data and apps is the same as when you where using Android 6.0) can result in unexpected behavior:
- Crashing apps
- Wakelocks
- Battery drain
...
So it's always better to do a clean install when you upgrade to android 7.0
If you don't care about the possibility of instable behaviour or battery inefficiency, then a dirty flash (keeping your data/apps) will be much easier/faster.
Title says it all really. I hadn't seen any indication that Oreo would bring any changes in the WiFi calling or VoLTE front, but the facilities that had been only available on Three branded ROMs, are available in Oreo.
Cheers for the info - on Three but using an unlocked phone so this will be useful when I've finally got the update.

The release is currently only available for the XEF CSC, but as that is part of the OXM multi-CSC that covers the UK's BTU, then it's effectively identical to a UK update anyway. You can download it and flash it to your phone using Odin.

Yeah sorry, I got to reading after I posted that and saw your post in the other thread. I'll give it a go shortly - thanks for replying mate. Much appreciated!
They’ve also updated the modem Firmware to support additional LTE bands including B32 which three are currently deploying in my area.
Occasionally callers can't hear my audio at the other end of the call whilst using WiFi calling, I'm BTU/BTU/BTU on Oreo on 3UK. Would be interesting to see if anyone else is having issues. I'll check the detailed IMS settings when I have some free time.
From the Three site:
Devices that didn't come from Three.
Right now, all 4G Super-Voice compatible*iPhones*will be 4G Super-Voice enabled once the carrier settings have been installed, even if they didn't come from Three.
4G Super-Voice doesn't work on other non-Three devices yet however, even if the manufacturer has stated that it's VoLTE compatible. We're working on this, so be sure to check back for updates.
Has anyone experienced data transmission issues on Oreo and 3 UK?
I updated to Oreo via XEF Odin flash and then Update push but was getting very intermittent and "hangy" LTE & HSDPA data transmission...
I flashed back down to 7.1.1 but if no-one else has experienced this I may try again :fingers-crossed:
S9+ (direct from Samsung) user here using my Three SIM from my old S7 Edge contract.
No WiFi calling etc, what is it that I have to do to enable it? Not flashed firmware before & I'm concerned I may void any warranty etc (on Samsung Upgrade program for the S10)
Thank you in advance for any advice.

This is the Note 8 Forum and we are discussing the Oreo update for that specific phone. There's no guarantee that Oreo updates for other phones will include the VoLTE or WiFi Calling settings for Three. You would be better off directing your question to the S9+ forum.

I have the 950N as well. I would suggest downloading a 950F based ROM and then flashing TEKHD's CSC detonator(its in the dev section) which is T-Mobile based. It'll give you access to VoLTE and I believe video calling as well. I am currently running WETA 6.3.3 and have flashed that CSC pack. I am able to enable both the MMTEL and RCS switch. VoLTE is working fine for me now.

You can flash on your N950F, but without knowing what CSC it currently is, the results could be a little unpredictable.
However, I can't imagine it will give you what you want in the US, as none of the native CSCs in OXM target the US carriers.
Sorry to bring back an old thread but I was wondering if you could help please? Does this mean that Oreo firmware, regardless of source will allow Three's VoLTE (4G Super Voice) to work on any Note 8, even those not supplied by Three? My phone is running 8.0.0, is unlocked, and I have just ordered a Three SIM.
TIA
Hello, looking for some help to see if anyone can help me find the firmware of my A526U specifically for AT&T? I have moved my phone over from TMobile where I purchased it from, and am looking to re-flash it to AT&T. Was working fine for a few months, now I'm no longer able to make or receive calls.
After inserting the new AT&T SIM card, the TMobile splash screen still shows up. The Service Provider software version reflects TMobile still as well and I'm concerned that for whatever reason the phone did not fully update after inserting the new SIM. I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T support after the store said they couldn't help me. Pulled the SIM card out, restarted phone, put it back in, reset network settings etc. I've searched sammobile and I cannot find the AT&T firmware, only TMobile, Sprint, and TMK. I would sincerely be greateful please if anyone could help me by pointing me in the right direction for the firmware for this model phone.
AT&T doesn't make their firmware available publicly - for any device. I have a source who can get me Samsung firmware for any USA device - even AT&T. But he charges me for each one
I appreciate the quick response! Is there any option I have here? Could I try flashing a "U1" firmware to his phone then? He's currently on A526USQS4CVA6. 1. Yes, you can try flashing U1 if you want
2. You can't "downgrade the bootloader" - Odin won't let you.
3. In A526USQS4CVA6, "4" is the position of the bootloader level/revision/binary. Make sure that whatever U1 firmware you download also has a 4 in that spot and you'll be fine. (Or just get the firmware from Frija or one of the other similar firmware download tools, because those throw you whatever the newest version is automatically)

I would contact AT&T advanced tech support as there may be an easier way.
4G VoLTE needs to be enabled in hidden settings.

Yup. But OP has a T-Mobile model that they moved to AT&T. There's also no guarantee that a Note 10+ will work the exact same way as an A52. You're also running 3 year old firmware, while OP is fully updated.
So i don't see the correlation.

The old firmware works fine on 4G VoLTE... that's likely not the issue. What is the issue is it wasn't running on 4G VoLTE so it's likely the settings and sim card need updating not the firmware.
Hi All, thought I would provide an update... After spending hours on the phone with AT&T support this week and being frustrated with the AT&T store, I decided to proceed forward with flashing the U1 version. What started this all was last week my son could no longer make or receive calls on his AT&T A52 phone (we ported it from TMobile September 2021). The store and AT&T advanced tech support said there were issues with people's BYOD devices, even though the A526U and A526U1 shows on the supported devices list. The store rep said he's been getting people in left and right that can't make or receive calls, and all they can do is upsell customers to an AT&T branded phone.
SO... my son's phone was on A526USQS4CVA6. Startup screen showed TMobile still, even with the AT&T SIM card in it. I proceed to flash the A526U1OYM4CVB2_ATT that I found from Sammobile. Was hoping someone had just the "U" version but I couldn't find this anywhere. When doing the flash, I used the Home_CSC file (I had to download a patched version of ODIN as it was stuck as setting up connection) and when it finished it would just keep going back to the download screen on the phone and I freaked out. I did some more research and decided to flash again using CSC instead of Home.CSC (I did a backup using smart switch on my PC luckily). This WORKED! I'm guessing because the software version he was on was different than what I was trying to flash too so maybe this is why I needed the CSC for a clean flash (there was no user data file that downloaded from SAMMOBILE).
Now, calls are working on my son's phone again! AND his service provider software version now reflects ATT vs TMB! Man this has been one heck of a journey lol. I've seen numerous forums on google of people having the same trouble with me, their BYOD devices not working. Seems a flash of U1 worked for me, so hopefully this helps others out there!
I'm at my wit's end on this. Calls stopped working the other day due to 3G disablement as far as I can tell. AT&T model unlocked and using with Simple Mobile on T-Mobile network. Calls would just say "Calling" for a long time and then eventually disconnect. I could switch to GSM and make calls again, but slow data. Simple told me to get a new SIM and when trying to activate, it shows ineligible IMEI due to no Volte it seems.
I'm trying to get that fixed, but running into various issues.
LM-G850UM
I tried to crossflash (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tutorial-crossflash-bypass-opid-mismatched-error.4345963/)
I flashed G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz but it didn't ask me to change the model, so it still shows LM-G850UM software G850UM30c. IMEI is the same.
Since this didn't get calls back or Volte, I tried updating the MBN (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ther-qualcomm-powered-lg-devices-too.4343655/)
Data shows 4G. Calls don't even try to connect.
I don't know what to do next and don't have much time to try to figure it out. I like the G8X, so I'm hoping there's a way to save it.
Any thoughts from the experts?

Make a back up,and cross flash it with T-Mobile firmware.Problem solved.
Thanks Surge!
I crossflashed to general firmware. Where's the best place for the TMobile firmware? Just off their website? Will that lock the phone again, or will I still be able to use the Simple Mobile Service?

It shouldn't lock the device if it's already unlocked. You can also use G8 firmware as well.(same device)Look here, this should get you the firmware you need.

Thanks again, Surge.
That's where I got my KDZ before. I used the one here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg850qm-firmwares/ and used the 3/24/22 version for Android 11. When I flashed it with LG UP, it didn't ask me to change models, which I'm not sure if that's why it didn't trigger it to start working again.

Most are using the international firmware for the G8 and G8x models.Which is what the qm firmware is.If you're carrier is T-Mobile or any T-Mobile MVNO,I would solely use T-Mobile firmware. My G8x is AT&T branded and factory unlocked, and I tried using Tmobile service about 2 months ago and was having issues sending text messages.I could place and receive calls and get text but couldn't send them period.
Yeah, so my G8X is AT&T unlocked. AT&T didn't activate VOLTE on this model, so when T-Mobile shut down their 3G network, Simple Mobile calls won't work and the current IMEI shows it's not eligible (because of the model.) At least that's my understanding so far.
So for the G8, is this the firmware I should crossflash? https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg820tm-firmwares/ or I could try the QM which may or may not work. Is that correct? Basically going to the 820 firmwares instead of the 850?

I would go with the T-Mobile firmware since you're on their network. It wouldn't make a difference with VoLTE enabled with an AT&T sim.Once you pull the sim,and swap it it defaults back and turns the IMS settings off until it receives the configuration from their servers.Yes,820 firmware. It at least has the higher android builds, and better security patches.Once you put T-Mobile firmware on the device it should all work regardless of IMEI.
Edit:Make a back-up.Don't forget to do that first!
OK Surge....you've been helpful and seem to know what you're doing. What did I mess up?
I followed the cross flash instructions. I flashed the 820QM firmware first, and System loaded but the touchscreen wouldn't respond. I could only use the hard phone buttons. Decided to go to what you recommended with 820TM and it wouldn't boot at all - black screen - but I could still get to QFIL and LGUP.
I reflashed 850QM and touchscreen works again and I'm back to where I started.
When I flashed 820s, It did ask me if I wanted to change model numbers this time and I said Yes. And it asked it said it was changing some partitions on the 820 loads.
I may have been working on this too late. I appreciate your help so far.

I think someone else encountered this once before, and it was caused by certain manufacturering dates of the device. Some models can use 820 firmware, and some can only use 850.Looks as if yours is kind of stuck with 850 firmware only.I think the AT&T version I have I could go either way it worked with no problems.I still have my G8x but never really used it.I bought it because it came with the dual screen attachement, and $125 I took it.Here's my Sprint copy if you want to give it a try. It's a LUNS copy minus LUNS 5 for IMEI information etc.I was in the same boat as you on certain features not working with AT&T at one point myself and had to crossflash the Sprint version of the device. With that being said, try this one from LG Fans first. If that doesn't work, try my LUNS Sprint copy and let me know which ones works the best.

So interesting news....I obviously didn't try making calls last night at 2AM, but apparently reflashing with the same exact 850QM software I used before seems to have fixed the issue. Maybe changing the model to 820 and then changing back to 850? Who knows? That's like the 3rd thing that happened with this process that I have no idea why it started working differently, but hey I'm happy and back up and rolling.
Thanks for all of your help, Surge! I was truly at wits end, and had already ordered a new phone, even though I'm happy with the G8X overall. Now I can return that and keep rolling with the G8X.
Thanks again, you were a huge help and its much appreciated!

Glad you got it working!I run in to a same similar issue with a Note 8 I have, and it being an international unlocked AT&T phone. No calls would work period, and swapped firmware over and over and finally started to give up and flashed the stock firmware back and it worked. It's something that hangs in Android with the changed IMS settings that are sent to the device. It's all odd at the moment with carriers, but nothing surprises me anymore..lol..
"G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz" Is a BPT kdz and is not truly open even though it says, "NAO US OP".
I got the phone working by using "G850QM30b_00_NAO_US_OP_0902.kdz", the "real" open kdz. Everything worked fine after that.

Yes,the firehose will always work regardless of the Android version. Also from what I have read, yes the same procedures work for A12 for root and unlocking the bootloader. As always, backup your firmware before rooting and attempting to unlock the bootloader just in case something goes wrong!

Do you think there is any point to crossflash
USA G850QM40b_00_NAO_US_OP_0805.kdz
on ATT G8X to be used on Tmobile network? I can do the VOLTE patch after rooting it . is it worth the headache?

QM versions are international unlocked versions of the firmware. My branded AT&T G8x had issues sending text messages with T-Mobile service I do remember.I crossflahed my variant with the QM version and it worked flawless after that. But,I do have a full backup copy of the AT&T firmware if I ever decide to put it back.
