Question Root storage full, what's safe to remove? - Google Pixel 6

Root drive is completely full and now my Pixel is riding the struggle bus HARD. Which files/folders are safe to free up so I have more space?

Nothing, root storage is supposed to be like that. Don't touch it.
The problem with your Pixel has a different root cause.
Cheers

It used to only be maybe 50-60% full. Over the last few updates it's been getting more full until now it's completely maxed out.
Can I move some system apps to internal storage, delete some stuff, or what?

As tom said, that's normal.

@ZzEzZ To add to what has been said, Google sets the partition to read only and, the way they do it, it's impossible to remove the read only status. To make it crystal clear, you cannot move a system app to internal storage and cannot delete anything from the system partition. You CAN uninstall updates to system apps however as those are stored in internal storage.
Given your issues, you may want to look into performing a factory reset. It certainly can't hurt and may help.

Oh interesting. Thanks y'all.

It's very annoying because I have to wait hours for downloading and then that message comes up.
well it looks like your apps partition is full. although it may say u have free space left on USB/SD, your system partition is maybe full.
if u go to settings->storage you will notice you have 3 "storages" 1. Interal 1 (1-2GB), Internal 2 (10-11GB) and SD card storage.
It maybe possible u menaged to fill 1st one too much. Check storage there and try moving some apps to SD card if possible.

Default SDCard Hack to Change what Android Reads for Phone Storage

Is it possible to somehow get Android to Change SD0 to SD1 for all its uses?
Currently, Android only reads SDcard0 for all of its program storage etc.. like right now you have the option of moving your apps from Internal Phone storage, or the Built-in External storage, but I'd like to crack Androids teeth in and make it look at SDcard1 as its own storage device.. and I dont care if it cant even see the phones 'external' storage after a crack/patch/fix..
does anyone know if its possible to do this?
I want all my programs installed on SDcard1, not on SDcard0..
I know this violates the ethics of Phone the companies who bleed customers dry 1 Gigabyte at a time per phone build and make it impossible for us to use our own Storage, so they can maximize profits, regardless of the trouble they cause us.
but any super user know of this being done or how it can be done?
thanks

[P] Internal Storage modifications

For roms like cm12 the internal storage is a bit small and I often got a "no free storage left" message. I did a bit of research and as for the Xperia S it is possible to resize the internal storage.
Now it looks like this.
Is anyone interested in a guide how to resize the partitions? If you do you'll lose everything stored on the device and the sd card and need to backup everything.

It is possible to merge internal memory(sometimes called device storage) and sdcard0.(sometimes called internal storage). However it is usually risky business and flashing over can hardbrick your phone.
However there are other ways to do it.
First is to move apps to sdcard, which is done best by Titaniumbackup (It requires root)
Secondly you can use a software likelink2sd which would use your memory card(you decide how much) and link it with your internal memory.
If you have still problems, you can quote me for an answer.
Good luck
Can you explain the process for link2sd, as xperia p doesn't contain SD card?

Internal Storage limited to 1,3G from 16G

Greetings people,
I own a Lenovo k50 t (a7000) and i recently took it to a phone "service" shop, if i can call it that way, to install a add less ROM.
Said and done, i leave my phone there and return a few hours later to pick it up, everything seemed fine till i wanted to install a new app.
I got a error message telling me i had insufficient space, which is strange since it had a fresh OS on it, so i decided to check the storage space details
and to my amazement it showed me i had 1,3 Gigs total internal Memory from wich 1,2 G was used by the OS. I used ES File Explorer to look up the storage details.
Then i did the same thing using the storage details tab from the OS "settings" window and it showed 16Gigs of wich 14,5 Gigs being "OS Used".
I got a feeling that the partitions got damaged or something like that.
I already tried formating everything via CWM and reinstaling a new software, it worked but the partition was still the same size, 1.3 Gigs.
Could anyone help me out please?
Thanks in advance,
Mike.

I took it back to the service and the guy managed to fix it.
He wouldn't tell me how tough.
Im guessing the partitions were screwed up and he rewrote those.

[HELP]Problem with memory partitions and low system memory message

First off, I have a Galaxy S5, rooted, xposed installed, with 6.0.1.
So I partitioned my SD card a few months ago and I haven't had any issues. My apps were installing just fine and I was no longer getting any errors in regards to low system memory.
Today, I received the dreaded low system memory message and went to investigate.

When I try to view the details under User Data, thing's don't quite add up:
I am fairly tired so pardon my mistake in judgment if the solution is simple. However, I cannot wrap my head around why I am getting this error when everything was working fine previously.
When I plug in my phone, this is what you see in regards to the visible partitions:
As you can see, there is a lot of memory left on both internal storage and the SD card.
In addition to the phone storage indicated there, I had also partitioned off a portion of my SD card to be used as app storage. As it stands, when I go to storage, this is what is shown:
Here are the details of the expanded storage and again, I am unable to make sense of the numbers.
If you could provide some assistance in making sense of this, I would be eternally grateful! Thanks!
My guess is that maybe at some point I had booted up my phone without my SD card in and it changed how the partition was recognized and all of the app data was migrated back over to the phone. This would mean I would have to back up my SD card, delete all of the partitions, and then repartition the card using ADB. I hoping this is not the case because I don't remember that process being fun.
Again, thanks ahead of time and hopefully there is an easy solution to this.
