Nothing seems to work - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

I've tried a bunch of combinations of ROMs and Gapps, and even tried to go back to stock, but nothing is working.
At one point at had lineageOS working without gapps, but I've yet to replicate that.
I just tried lineageOS (no gapps), and after it sets the time, it says just a sec and sits there spinning for the last hour with Google Play services keeps stopping messages keeping on popping up.
LineageOS bundled together for a flash ends up in a boot loop.
Trying to revert to stock with the 3 zip files and Odin fails.
I really am just trying to get this thing working so I can sell it. I shoulda left it stock. Am I the only one with these issues?
I just realized I put this msg in the wrong group, but I don't seem to be able to move it. Can a mod to this for me? Thanks!

If you didn't flash Gapps how come that Playstore tries to work?

So yours is a T820?
Which stock file did you try and where from?
They shouldn't be zip but tar.md5 files.
Odin can't flash zip.

I don't remember where I got it. I only remember there being a bunch of flavors for different countries. The following is the file list:

Correct, they are tar.md5 files.

I just tried LineageOS 19.1 and it goes into a boot loop after install. The circle moves over the parenthesis for a couple mins then reboots with Samsung logo then back to moving circle. I wiped everything first .

It's been looping for like 4 hours. Gonna retry with Odin and stock.

I don't seem to be able to get Odin to do anything either. Did I brick this thing? I have a newer Samsung tablet I was thinking of rooting, but may just leave it be,,,

Glad it did work this time.
For latest stock download I always use and recommend samfirm_reborn_03.6.3 as it downloads directly quite fast from samsungs servers.

[Q] [HELP] Phone won't boot...

A question. After attempting to flash a theme... I got a bootloop. So I flashed the provided undo file. Now my phone will not boot past the Galaxy S 2 screen with the warning triangle. Any help? I'm kinda panicking...
dont you make any cwm backup first ?
i believe u can still enter recovery mode ( power + home + volume up ) ,
and do full wipe, and flash any other rom .zip .
p/s: i believe you already have root, and install any rom before
no i didnt... i was rooted. i have both cwm and download mode... but phone wont boot. I live in canada so samsung has not uploaded our stock rom files...
If it is not backup-ed, then you will have an issue.
Now, try wipe phone via CWM, clear cache and clear dalvik.
Finger's crossed it work.
If not, last choice will be install any Custom ROM and it will wipe (hopefully) all the not 'right' files.
nope.... nothing... guess i will take it in for warranty... thank you anyways my friend
I got that as well in the past, although mine was caused by incompletely flashing Cyanogen. Had a major freakout before I figured it out.
The only way I found to fix it is to flash stock firmware using Odin (and you will not be able to restore stock Canadian as it hasnt been released for us yet). I went with the xxKG2 (polish firmware I think).
There may be other ways to fix the problem but this will 99% sure take care of it. Your warranty will of course be void untill the Canadian firmware is released.
Cheers!

An additional note: from what I understand you're also getting the insecure kernel triangle. If the counter in download mode also shows that you flashed non-official firmware/kernel, your warranty could already be void. In that case Samsung may now honour their Limited Warranty Agreement.

right but when i purchased the phone i also purchased an extended warranty that covers software problems

repeatedly :/ also, there is no publicly released canadian firmware afaik... so flashing an official/stock rom isnt really possible in this case..
on a side note, in recovery mode, it appears that /emmc encountered an error in mounting while all others mounted fine... not sure if this has any relevence, but there you go

/emmc is the external sd card, you probably don't have one in the slot so it wasn't able to mount it.
The Yellow Triangle means you had something changed in the kernel partition, so the custom binary counter went up by 1.
As for stock rom, you will have to wait for Bell Canada to release one.
If you are not looking for stock, I'd recommend CyanogenMOD7, however it is still on nightly development, which means it has it fair share of issues.
I prefer CM7 and its problem over the stock which also has a fair share of issues.
if you can use downloading mode , you can flash back stock rom. believe me it will work.
you can study how to flash back stock rom using odin here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

Are you sure you've "repeatedly" followed those instructions? You claim that flashing a stock ROM isn't possible. But those instructions require you to flash a stock ROM.
You don't have to flash the ROM that is specific to your region/carrier. Just flash ANY stock ROM to get your phone working again. Then you can flash back to whatever ROM you were on previously.
But if you wanted to get back onto whatever ROM your phone initially came with, you're out of luck.
hi all, my phone simply would not boot, it shows a down load error screen whenever i try to power up the phone.

Wow... you repartitioned the phone. Something that was repeatedly told not to do. Now you have a screwed up partition.
Now you will have to find a official stock rom for your phone, and the correct pit file, then repartition it and hope it works.
The first rule of Odin (for 99% of us) : you never flash a PIT file.
I feel like that should be stickied front page. It would save a lot of people a lot of trouble and possibly around 700$.

Same problem? You mean you repartitioned the phone as well?
Double check the md5 checksum to see if it is the same as posted if it is posted at all. If not, double check the file size to see if they are the same. Most browsers say the file downloaded is complete when it was disconnected somewhere, and the file is incomplete.
I find it hard to take devs seriously, when they don't post filesize or don't post md5 checksum. Either that, or those two information is really hard to find, not on the download page.

Ok so what i mean is cant start the phone I just get the logo with a yellow triangle at the bottom of the page so I tried to flash kernels but that doesnt help, but whenever I try to flash bigger files with Odin (I think they are firmwares, i downloaded them from Intratech's post) or Villainrom 1.1 it always fails when it says boot.bin in the message window for the big files and factoryfs.img for villain rom

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 - Bootloop stuck, no recovery mode but do have download mode!

Hello there!
I have read through all the Boot loop posts before anyone asks!
My phone is stuck on the Samsung galaxy s2 boot up with the yellow triangle and the black "!" inside (Boot loop). This happened after flashing the wrong kernel on the device first time. Here is the thing, no matter how many times I try to flash the Kernel which I think is "KH1" (99% sure) in download mode with Odin and all the right drivers installed right from Kies, it still won't work! I've tried stock kernels, insecure kernels... you name it I've tried it!
The phone it's self will go into DOWNLOAD mode (which works fine) , but not RECOVERY MODE at all!
I have been trying for days to fix it, but nothing on here will work.
Please some one get back to me and try to help me fix this problem as I want to use my galaxy s2 again. :/
Thanks, Sam.

A link to what? Neither in this thread nor your original post in the correct thread have you said what happens when you flash with Odin (what errors, what messages, what options you're picking), what ROMs you've tried (I try to flash the Kernel which I think is "KH1" (99% sure) sounds rather flakey).
The full, detailed instructions are in the very first post, here in case you missed it.
If it doesn't work when you follow the instructions to the letter, explain in full what does happen and someone might be able to help you.

Alternatively, it is possible to flash VillainROM 1.1 if you are not comfortable in wiping via recovery, or if you cannot do so for any reason (corrupted kernel etc), as it wipes all users data when installing. Simply ignore steps 2 to 4, and flash VillainROM 1.1 via ODIN instead of the stock ROM.

If you try to flash a multi file firmware and checking re-partition it still fails? I had this by using one file firmwares. Go to Intratech's thread and download a multi file firmware with new bootloaders to get comletely stock. This can not fail.
I have found out that the most stable multi file is xxki3.
While flashing this that way you should not encounter any failures with Odin.

hi guys, any help would really be appreciated.. i think i have the exact same problem as op. let me articulate it in a slightly more clear manner:
1. i flashed an insecure kernel in order to get root access. somewhere along this process somehow something got messed up.
2. the phone is stuck in a bootloop. this shouldnt be a problem! simply flash stock rom/stock modem, enter recovery mode and do a reset!
3. uh-oh. recovery mode crashes instantly, and the endless bootcycle comes back.
4. ive tried using cwm recovery, stock recovery, both of these have failed.
5. download mode works completely fine (using odin 1.85)
im running the AT&T version of galaxy s2 i777, but posting on those forums havent really gotten a solution, with build version UCKH7. I've tried to find a "wipe" package for this build but although i can find stock PDA and stock MODEM, i cannot find stock CSC. in desperation, i have also tried flashing PDA/MODEM/stock PIT at the same time, but this also has not worked. someone on the i777 forums has recommended trying to flash a new bootloader, but im a little wary with taking that step. noone has done it before.
any ideas?
TL;DR: my phone is stuck in a boot loop, but unlike others, recovery mode crashes instantly before i can even explore any options, and reenters bootloop into main android.

What exactly are you putting into each section in Odin, and which settings are checked? How long does the process take? Did you ever (either when you originally messed it up or while trying to fix it) choose any of the pit/repartition settings? What did you originally flash to cause the problem in the first place?
Is it possible to get screenshots with phone connected before flashing and one afterwards with all the options you're using shown?
This thread mentions something I asked earlier as the solution but you didn't respond to. Have you tried a different USB port and reinstalled the drivers (in Kies: tools -> install driver).
Kies also has a "firmware emergency recovery" though I've got no idea what that does, or if it's recommended to try.

It takes like 2 seconds on this one, other kernels which I flash take about 30 seconds then say PASS, but still boot loops. I haven't choose any of the pit/repartition settings. I just flashed the wrong kernel from trying to root the device for the first time, but this just put it into the boot loop.
I am just putting the "New_Bootloader_GT-I9100_OXA_I9100XXKI3_I9100XXKI3_I9100OXAKI3.tar" in into the PDA and then pressing start. I can't put a screen shot up here though as it won't let me.
I have tried different USB ports and reinstalled drivers. I also tried "firmware emergency recovery" but kies doesn't connect to my phone.

To OP, have you tried this? If all of your attempts thus far have involved a single file, and no repartition, if could be worth a try with one of the packages which has PDA/Phone/CSC as separate files (as on Intratech's description here: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/8290/odinxm.jpg). Failing that, you could try a ROM which comes with a PIT file to repartition the phone in case the partition table is somehow corrupt/damaged/incorrect, but you might want to consider that a last resort.

[Q] I9100G at least soft bricked

Hi everyone.
It's now been a few days that my I9100G is down. I've tried severals things found online : using a .pit file alone then flashing the firmware alone, .pit and firmware at the same time, using severals differents firware package, changing my cable, changing the USB port used, yes kies is closed, yes I've reinstalled the drivers.
I didn't tried with a x86 computer yet but I will this afternoon.
The symptoms
- Boot stuck on the logo.
- Recovery mode unavailable (I press the three buttons, I release them when the logo appear nad nothing more happend).
- Download more available.
What happends:
One day my phone suddently restart on his own. It happends to me. but when it start it was asking me to enter a password to decrypt it... but I don't remember having set this thing (and it's the first time it ever ask me that, even after a lot of reboots).
So, since I'm rooted and with CWM I boot into recovery and try a wipe. But since I don't want to lose everything I first try just a cache wipe. Then the problems started :
- after a first reboot, and since the wipe didn't changed anything, I tried to enter again in the recovery, but I get an error message (I don't remember which, I think it was something like an impossibility to mount some storage) and I get kicked off the recovery mode.
- I try to flash again a version of CWM for the I9100G.
- I can't enter at all in recovery mode anymore
- I try a full reinstalation using a all-in-one package of the firmware. It failed a different places:
- I9100GXXLSR_I9100GXXLSP_I9100GXEFLSR_HOME.tar.md5 usually fail during factoryfs.img
- I9100GXXKL5_I9100GXEFKL3_I9100GXXKL4_HOME.tar.md5 usually fail during modem.img
I start to run out of solutions and I'm in a great need of help now, I've tried all I could on my own.

PS : I don't know if it's normal but I've flashed a couple time before and it never was awefuly long, here each tried take at least 1h-1h30. I would like to know if that's normal ^^
What exactly do you mean by that ?
Edit - Two things come to mind given the stages the flashes have been failing at; bad downloads & something PC side - temporary break in connection b/w phone & PC but not long enough for the PC OS to register, or dodgy USB ports. But that may/may not be ruled out depending on your answer to the above question.

I mean that my computer is running a 64bit OS (windows 7). I will get a computer running a 32bit OS this afternoon (maybe Odin don't like being run on a 64 bit environement <.<

Bad downloads : maybe, but that would mean that the 3 or 4 differents downloads I did (because I thought of that possibility and I've tried to re-download the roms) all were corrupted at some point ^^'
Connection problem : maybe too, but (yeah again a but) I don't touch my computer at all during the process expeciallt to avoid the connexion to be broke.
PS : all my .tar.md5 archives gives me the "error" "There is no correct records at the end of archive" when I check them with 7-zip
Ahhh OK. Win7 x64 wouldn't normally be an issue. Trying a 32 bit OS more than likely won't give you any different result on the same machine. Given everything you've already tried, you need to try a different machine. And if it were me, I'd try more than one, because the alternative is giving up & paying someone to fix it.
The error you get with 7Zip is normal for stock roms & doesn't affect anything, but very good idea to try checking the integrity of the download though. Try checking the zip before you unzip the tar.md5. If it says files are missing/broken, there's your problem. If not, go with trying on another machine. Also, search for Hopper8's "Odin troubleshooting' thread. As thorough as you've been to this point (and you have been very thorough), there might be something relatively minor mentioned in his thread that you may not have tried.

Yeah, I ment to use another computer ^^ I'm trying right now. Can you confirm me that a flashing can take one hour or more? (I'm not used to that amount of time)
And yeah, I don't want to give up and pay someone to do something I could do. I'm not a newbie in IT stuff, (even if I don't really know the architecture of an android phone and I don't know the use of the differents files in a rom).
7zip tell me that everything is ok about the downloaded .zip.
Thanks for the tip, I'm going to read that thread
No, a stock rom flash on the S2 should only take a couple of minutes tops. Normally in these situations, as long as you have download mode you can recover it, unless the NAND is messed up, then it's a JTAG (not always possible though) or in many cases a motherboard replacement. But forget that for now & only worry about that when you reach the end of the line so far as stuff you can try goes.
OK. So we can rule out bad download plus pretty much all the other stuff you've tried so far. Try on another machine & read his thread to make doubly sure there's not something really small/obvious we're both missing here.
ok, The ROM I've took come from sammobile so I guess it shouldn't take that amound of time.
That's factoryfs.img that take the most of the time ^^
I just realized that I forgot to launch Odin as administrator with windows 7 (my current try is on a x86 windows XP). But my previous (successfull ) flashes were like that too ^^'
I will continue to try on that other computer, but that will take some time to try all ports (since there is roughly 1h-1h30 to try to flash + the time for a full recharge of the battery <.<)
After having read a couple of threads here I realized that I took a .pit file from somewhere but haven't followed the step there :
[Fix] [Guide] [For Noobs] Recover from Corrupted Memory[USE EXTREME CAUTION]
But since I still not know how is organized an android phone I don't know if I've just used a generic thing that have just done nothing or if I could have messed up something. The file have this name : omap4_all_20110627_emmc.pit
I'm sorry for the double post : this is an update
The first try failed during factoryfs.img. I'm currently charging the phone for a next try.
So far I've tried
- I9100GXXLB1_I9100GATOKL1_ATO
- I9100GXXLSR_I9100GXEFLSR_XEF
- I9100GXXKL5_I9100GXEFKL3_XEF
Would anyone have any idea of which other rom I could try?
Shouldn't make any difference which rom you use, as long as it's an I9100G rom. Try every stock rom you're physically able to download; Sometimes with these situations you could try 10 flashes and they all fail, yet for whatever reason the 11th works. If I had a dollar for every occasion I've seen that happen on here over the past ~2 yrs, I'd have a fair bit of money - it's not super common, but it's not unheard of either.
So keep at it, perseverance might just recover it when trying every single thing you/everyone else on here can think of won't.
Okay, I'll keep going then ^^ may a custom rom work better?
I still don't understand why it take so much time ^^'
My guess is....at this point, you probably don't have root access, so a custom rom probably won't flash (can you even get into recovery mode?)
Read hopper8s guide and look for the link to the 3 part or test firmware. Most (if not all) single file firmwares simply overwrite what is already installed.....the test firmware will wipe the previous install and allow you to clean flash the firmware.....it *might* work where other firmwares haven't.......

Forget about the test firmware until you can be sure it's compatiable with the i9100G.....

No, as I said in my first post I can't access the recovery mode. or I don't do it correctly or it don't work anymore.
Hummm ok I will wait about the test firmware ^^' what could happend if it is not compatible?
I'm a little lost into the amount of rom available. Should I only try official roms? could I try other ones, if yes, which ones?
The worst part is that I don't remember which version was running on my phone. I was rooted, up to date I think, but that's all I remember, and I always see "only use this rom with a x.x.x rom" so <.<
also, after having tried so much time to reinstall it, does the indication "only use this rom with a x.x.x rom" still apply?
It doesn't matter which stock firmware you flash/whether it's specifically for your carrier or not. The aim is to get the phone working normally, so any stock I9100G firmware will do.
The suggestion to try a 3 part firmware is a good one, but I honestly don't know if there is such a thing for the I9100G as there is for the I9100.
You really need to start trying with a different PC and more than one if you can, because the alternative involves paying a Samsung service centre a not insignificant sum of money to fix your phone.
Done some google searching and it seems that there is no test firmware for your phone.....I WOULDN'T recommend using the one linked to in hopper8s thread.....the hardware in the phones (specifically the chipsets) are different......you'd probably kill your phone if you used it.
Below is a link to the latest firmware for your phone...

Thanks for all your answers.
I will then continue to try severals computers and severals roms.
I still wonder one thing :
would it be possible to install all the different parts separately? it always fail at the same step, is it possible to install the different parte one after the other? that would avoid me to have to wait 2h between two tries ^^
Also I wonder : what is the use of the .dll file I always find in the .zip ?
Edit : I just noticed something; in the latest version of Odin there is a option called "NAND erase all". would it be a good alternative to the 3-part test firmware?
I hate to do that but : little up about my last questions ^^'
NejaaHal said:
Here is a bit of log from my last try with Odin :
thanks for reading
PS : I don't know if it's normal but I've flashed a couple time before and it never was awefuly long, here each tried take at least 1h-1h30. I would like to know if that's normal ^^

No, thats definitely not normal, I have an i9100 and it has never taken longer than a few mins to flash via odin. I did make the mistake once of trying to flash my wifes i9100 which i assumed was an i9100g because it was white, might be not applicable to you, but it may be worth checking you have an i9100g not an i9100 - just look under your battery!
Good luck.

Thanks ^^ but I am completly absolutely sure I have a i9100G ^^ because I already had problems before to find a way to root my phone ^^ and it say I9100G on the phone ;p I even tried to change it for a normal i9100 at the store I bought it but they told me they only had that version^^
Edit / news: I've tried to flash some part separately (from here :
[COLLECTIONS][MIRROR] Official Firmwares, Kernels, Modems, Bootloaders ). the bootloader don't fail, the kernel don't fail but the modem always fail while writing (now writing [...] -> blank line -> Received response from LOKE -> fail)
I don't know what to do now <.<
New question : have anyone any solution to allow me to have at least access to the recovery? is there any way to flash only the recovery? I made a lot of searches but couldn't find anything :/
If you can flash a custom kernel, you'll get (usually) CWM recovery.......then at that point you can do the full range of wipes and in theory flash custom roms.....

Do you have a known good PIT file for your phone?
I wouldn't put anything into the PIT slot, flash just the .tar.md5 in the AP slot, and don't select "Re-partition".
Since it seems to be failing when trying to repartition, let's skip that (as above) and see if it's any better.

Well I'm out of ideas myself. Heimdall can be found here http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/
Some have had much better luck with it from what I've seen. I'm not an expert in Odin errors just was thinking of what I'd try. You can go between MK2 and MJ7 as well, may be worth trying MJ7 full wipe, just for the hell of it.
Hopefully that works or maybe someone else here will have another idea.

First, everyone: asking him to check the MD5 is a waste of time. It's a .tar.md5, and ODIN verifies the MD5 when it reads it. Since ODIN isn't finding a problem, it's OK. (There's no chance whatsoever that a file could be corrupt and still have a MD5 that verifies while still being a valid tar file.)
What I would do is to go read this thread for the MK2 files.
Given what you're seeing, try the emergency recovery. Download the .PIT file from there (remember me asking about that?) and use that when flashing the full-wipe file in ODIN.
This might sound crazy, but are you using the samsung OEM USB cable when your trying to odin? I had the note 2 before getting this phone and every time I used oden with a 3rd party USB cable, I always ran into problems. I always had to use the OEM cable. Also, if it's bootlooping or hanging at the boot screen, you should be able to get it working again. The only time you worry is if it doesn't do anything at all. When you said you can't get into safestrap, what about the stock recovery?

How To: Unbrick A Hard Bricked i605 [n7100 Bootloader Flash] NO Resistor

Update 2: Added a Wi-Fi Hot Spot Fix, thanks to @cooperg21
Update 1: I have attached the recovery, EFS and PIT I personally used on my phone to do this fix, as requested by a fellow member
I've seen a few people that accidentally "bricked" their Verizon Note 2 by accidentally installing the N7100 Bootloader. I myself did this, attempted the resistor mentioned by a fellow member and that also would not work for me. So I set out to find an alternative way to do it, and was successful. You don't even have to open the phone to do it.
You will need:
Odin Software
Stock ND3 Odin compatible stock ROM (I used N7100XXUFND3_N7100OXAFND3_XEF)
N7100 TWRP Recovery (Latest Version, Odin Flashable)(attached to this post)
An i605 ROM (I used DN3).
A backup of your own EFS(if you have one), or the backup I provided(attached to this post)
N7100 PIT File, to repartition your Internal Storage to work with the stock N7100 ROM(attached to this post)
1. Use odin to write the N7100 pit file
2. Then, using Odin, load "N7100XXUFND3_N7100OXAFND3_XEF" into the "PDA" section, after that was finished, I booted into the stock recovery and did a factory reset. That allowed the phone to boot up, but baseband was "Unknown" and it had no service.
3. Then, use Odin to flash the latest version of TWRP for the N7100(it MUST be n7100 or it will bootloop/stick on the Samsung/Rom Booting screen)
4. Then you must flash "N7100_ND3_DrKetan_Custom_ROM_V82.zip" using TWRP recovery, it will boot that up just fine, still says "Unknown" for baseband(i'll explain later why I flashed this, and am directing you to also flash this, despite bootloader still not working).
5. Afterwards, flash the EFS file(attached to this post) using ODIN. This will help resolve the lost Baseband/IMEI problem encountered with flashing the stock N7100 ROM in Step 1.
5. After that, flash "DN3_v5.2_VZW.zip", again, using TWRP Recovery. After that my phone booted up it had service and all of my apps worked.
When I skipped Step 4, a few apps wouldn't work correctly. Instagram wouldn't refresh the feed or load anything, Snapchat wouldn't open anything or send anything either. I'm not sure why that happens, but it ONLY happened if I didn't flash the N7100_ND3_DRKetan ROM before flashing the DN3 ROM
I know this device is beginning to get old, but I hope this can help someone in the future.

Solution to the DN3 Wifi Hotspot Issue:
1) Download and install Xposed
2) Open and update xposed framework (This didn't work the first time for me but after a clean install of the n7100 rom, then DN3 rom (with all S5 options selected), it worked.)
3) Restart (Might not be necessary but it doesn't hurt)
4) Install the "X Tether" Module in xposed.
5) Restart (Might not be necessary but it doesn't hurt)
6) Turn on mobile hotspot!

I'm honestly not sure, I got it second hand from someone, went to flash a new ROM to it and accidentally did the wrong bootloader for the ROM prerequisite. But I don't imagine what used to be on the phone will matter, because the bootloader from the N7100 would've written over it, and flashing the stock N7100 Odin files will overwrite anything previously on the phone.
I did this but it was just a white screen. mtvideos fixed it

You will now have to flash the N7100 TWRP Recovery, followed by flashing an i605 ROM. Personally, I used DN3 and it worked for me.
After flashing the ROM and rebooting the phone, I had a 100% WORKING Note 2 that was previously bricked. Download mode shows N7100, yet the phone is working completely. Data, Voice, Text, etc.
I know this device is beginning to get old, but I hope this can help someone in the future.

I too accidently flashed this N1700 onto my I605
How do you flash the ND3 ROM if you can't get into recovery? With Odin I've tried loading
-N7100XXUFND3_N7100OXAFND3_N7100XXUFND3_HOME.tar.md5
-root66_VZW_stock_system.tar.md5
-I605VRUAND3_I605VZWAND3_I605VRUAND3_HOME.tar
None with no avail.
They all either never get past the PIT file and or unsuccessful, after rebooting both phone and PC and even tried another PC
at this point I am thinking of paying the 50$ for the JTAG fix. However any advice or suggestions would be helpful.
Also I tried this on both 3.07 and 3.09
PRODCUT NAME : GT-N7100
should be i605. The one that messed this up was N7100
N7100_KK_ND3_BL.tar.md5
... after this, it just rebooted and flash the Note 2 screen with GT-N7100 every 2 seconds... I can only put it in download mode. Recoevery mode will not work

How do you flash the ND3 ROM if you can't get into recovery? With Odin I've tried loading
-N7100XXUFND3_N7100OXAFND3_N7100XXUFND3_HOME.tar.md5
-root66_VZW_stock_system.tar.md5
-I605VRUAND3_I605VZWAND3_I605VRUAND3_HOME.tar
None with no avail.
They all either never get past the PIT file and or unsuccessful, after rebooting both phone and PC and even tried another PC
at this point I am thinking of paying the 50$ for the JTAG fix. However any advice or suggestions would be helpful.
Also I tried this on both 3.07 and 3.09
PRODCUT NAME : GT-N7100
should be i605. The one that messed this up was N7100
N7100_KK_ND3_BL.tar.md5
... after this, it just rebooted and flash the Note 2 screen with GT-N7100 every 2 seconds... I can only put it in download mode. Recoevery mode will not work

I'm not sure why that happens, but it ONLY happened if I didn't flash the N7100_ND3_DRKetan ROM before flashing the DN3 ROM.
These are the exact steps I followed, after accidentally flashing the N7100 bootloader onto my i605 Note 2. You MIGHT also have to flash the i605 EFS file to restore your baseband. On ocassion, I had to or I would get Unknown Bootloader. It would also help to flash the "I605VRAMC3 Modem.zip" file, to ensure you're on the i605 Modem.

Ok I followed it to a T and got it up with DN3 ROM, So now it at least has a ROM.
I need to load i605 EFS, I have both that and the Modem.zip. Question now is I saw many installers via app to install it however they all say N7100 loader only. I am not sure weather to use that method or another one. Would Odin install it ? if so what would be the procedures for this?
ANYWAY THANKS A LOT..

I'm glad my post could help you

Ok for the EFS , on Odin, which did you select to install it
Bootloader
PDA
PHONE
CSC
also inside that tar ball there are 3 files. I don't want to "brick" my device again. I've searched plenty of places for Odin flashing EFS but no avail with these instructions, again many thanks.
THANK YOU.
I actually did not find direction, however I found many bash programs that did it automatically and looked at their code, they Added the efs via PDA
then it booted and for good measure I went through the TWRP and installed the modem. Rebooted and I GOT 4G back and a working ROM. If you need any designs / music mixing or anything like that I can see what I can do. Life Saver !
Question, from now on will I need to install roms that are for the N7100 ? I will backup/restore the efs/modem just in case for these too correct if this is the case?
Or can I install i605 ROMS ?
Again MUCH KUDOS !:good:

I haven't tried any other ROMs, I do know that some kernels don't do too well, flashing the AGNI kernel caused me to lose my baseband no matter what I flashed afterwards, haven't found out why yet. The ROM that you flashed at the end, that the phone works with, is a i605 ROM right from the Verizon Note 2 section of these forums. And sorry for the delay in reply, had to do some work on my car lol

That's most likely a problem with the ROM itself, but either way you're welcome -- i'm glad I could help you.
I think I have the same issue as you. I wasn't paying attention and I installed a n7100 bootloader on my i605 phone.
Anyway, I did a search for N7100XXUFND3_N7100OXAFND3_XEF and it looks as if that rom is French. Is that going to cause an issue?

ran in odin
MJ5 bootloader
Now, gt-n7100 is flashing whenever I plug in my phone
I have about 18% battery life left and can't charge because I get the boot loop as soon as I plug in my phone so I unplugged it.
This shows in Odin

Thank you very much. I was able to get it installed (kindof). It kept on flashing up with errors. I was able to get TWRP installed. However, my PC says that my phone's capacity is only 107MB now.
I'm going to try putting my SD card back in (had to take it out to get the PIT file working).
I couldn't find the ROM "N7100_ND3_DrKetan_Custom_ROM_V82.zip"but found "N7100_ND3_Prerooted_deknoxed_debloatableV3".
Would that work before I install the i605 rom? Thanks again for all of your help!!!!!!

Are you sure you flashed the N7100 recovery, rather than the i605 recovery?
Also, here is a link to the DrKetan ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472270
would be sweet to see if this worked for locked bootloaders and allowed us to flash stuff again
Anybody out there wanna test? I'm pretty close to testing it on mine...since i'm about ready to switch to T-Mobile anyways.
Well, I'm taking the plunge now.
I went in to flash Trent's new B8, wiped data and TWRP crashed or something, then it bootlooped at the Note 2 screen. So instead of ODIN'ing back to VZW stock, i'm going to intentionally brick this beast to try this **** out lol
So annoyed at how bad this phone turned out to be once the 4.3 OTA was accidentally accepted by a lesser being in my house ;
---------- Post added at 11:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 AM ----------
my phone must be a beast, it fails to flash everything. It's gaurded by an angel!
I can't flash the n7100 bootloader onto it, it asks for pit, i put the pit, nothing. Just sits there saying looking for PIT to partition for bootloader. womp womp.

I think so. Here is what I installed.
http://www.androidayos.com/2014/04/26/root-n7100xxufnd3-galaxy-note-2-android-4-4-2-kitkat-update/
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0ByGZ52Krjat1QzdBWVJZTlk0VTg&export=download
Next step is the.... N7100 Dr.Ketan Custom ROM V 8.1
I ran into some issues with the PIT file (tried two different ones that I randomly found) and when I installed the above rom, it froze a couple of times in ODIN, but the third time was the charm. (If there is any way you could upload a link to the PIT file, future viewers with this problem would be really grateful!)
Is this it?

I'm moving everything onto my card via another phone and will update when I have an answer as to whether or not it worked. Thank again!
- My phone is currently stuck on the Samsung Screen. I'm thinking I didn't do the setup options correct on the rom....
- Tried wiping and reflashing rom but now I can't get past the Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 screen.....
- OK, Starting process again..... so I went back and reinstalled the French Recovery for the N7100. (Listed above). I think my original download didn't work so I redownloaded it. It flashed through Odin and booted without any weird errors! I'm going to follow the rest of the steps now.
- Installed TWRP: openrecovery-twrp-2.7.2.1-t03g.img.tar
- Installing the N7100 Dr.Ketan Custom ROM V 8.1 now via TWRP
- TWRP said FAILED after the install but I rebooted and my phone now says "Android is upgrading...",
- SUCCESS! The ROM installed. (just picked default/skip options) Now I'm going to install the DN3 Rom via TWRP
- Got DN3 up and running but no cell reception. Went to install the EFS via Odin 3.09 but it crashed Odin.... Trying with 3.07.... 3.07 got to NAND write start and my phone has a blue bar across the bottom but I think it's stuck... Task Mgr. shows little to no activity.... Time to try again.... I was able to restore an EFS via TWRPfrom a backup I had made but still no cell reception..... :/
- It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just impatient. After about 30 seconds, I have cell reception! CHRiS, you truly are infamous! You are awesome! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!

Did you try just running the PIT by itself using Odin 3.7?
