I have tried flashing turl's and Jokersax's CM9 builds and both get stuck at the Dual Core logo. The install of the .zips finish within a few seconds (which I know is not normal when trying to install 100MB+ files). I verified the md5 sums on both before installing and followed all instructions of formatting partitions and then doing a wipe. Any ideas?
are you sure that was rom or you flashed gapps?
Fixes
Here are some suggestions:
* are essential!
Wipe cache!
* Wipe dalvik cache! *
Wipe system!
Wipe data (if all else fails, personally, I wouldn't wipe my data straight away, I would leave it as a last resort)
* Flash Jokersax's build, whichever you like in CWM (and check MD5 sum with the website) *
Flash kernel from Jokersax.
* Flash Gapps (essential if you want Google Play!) *
If that fails, try the fastboot method.
Gd luck getting it to work
Also, always make sure you're on romracers latest recovery!
Thanks guys. I checked the MD5's and they were correct. I was always using romracer's recovery. I finally got it to work by just doing a factory reset and wiping the cache partition (the exact instructions on turl's thread). I'm glad it us working but I wonder what caused the problem.

So, I have updated lineageOs through TWRP.
I wipe dalvik, system and cache.
I flash latest rom and reflash Gapps then magisk but then it's bootloop.
I'm using lineageOs before, but I want to update it to latest rom and this is happening.
I tried many ways like flash lazyflasher etc. but no use, the problem is still happen.
So I have my phone unrooted now.
Please, help me to solve this problem, how can I root my phone? I'm still noob at this things.
PS:
lineageOs version : 15.1-20180611-NIGHTLY-mido

You would be really helpful if you were more specific about which version of lineage you flashed!

You need a special TWRP for Treble if you want to flash Magisk. It's all linked and discussed in the LineageOS thread.
Also, when coming from an old or unofficial LineageOS build, you need to do a full wipe (System, Data, Cache, Dalvik and Vendor).

Yes exactly! After downloading the ROM and flashing it from recovery you will notice that it is treble rom(apart from the message: "patching system image unconditionally..." You will also see a message: "Patching vendor image...")! So you need two things to download:
1) Custom TWRP for treble ROMs.
2) Custom Magisk for treble ROMs.

I just download magisk custom from the lineageOs's thread and flash it then it's succesfully installed a.k.a. no bootlooping anymore.
Maybe I should reads the threads carefully before execute next time.
Wow thanks a lot man, you helped me.
Same problem
Hi there, I'm having the same bootloop problem. Could you show me the thread you got the magisk from?
So first of all I would really recommend you to grab this TWRP: https://sourceforge.net/projects/orangefox/files/mido/ (all credits go to orangefox developers and you can find them here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../recovery-orangefox-recovery-project-t3775933)
Download the latest R7 zip because it supports now all kinds of roms (treble, non-treble and Android P!)
Now go and download the magisk from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589
First rom then gapps custom kernel(optional) last flash magisk. If you encounter any issues with magisk then wipe everything flash rom gapps and kernel if u want boot your phone to system reboot to recovery and flash magisk.

x Internal Storage..
x Cache..
x System..
Is't FULL Wipe..?
I am a newbie here with zero past experience in custom roms. So, I want to do it right. Can anyone please write a step by step guide or provide a link to a good pre-existing guide? Thanks in advance!
Edit: I was able to install Pixel Experience without any issues. Here is what I did:
* Unlocked the Bootloader using the Mi Unlock tool
* Flash TWRP Recovery using ADB and Fastboot
* Boot into TWRP
* Wipe data and all other partitions
* Install the zip file for the custom ROM
Always do a factory data reset in your recovery after flashing the ROM if you are coming from a different version of ROM.i.e.8 to 9,7 to 9 or vice versa.
Also when you go back to MIUI don't forget to flash lazyflasher.zip.You can find it on Google

Don't wipe all partitions, that will mess up Your phone beyond hope. First make backup of all partitions in twrp and then only wipe data, system, dalvik cache and cache.
Also don't forget get to install gapps (if not included in rom itself). You alsoay need to flash additional zip file to prevent force encryption.
Thanks
Personally, I use OrangeFox recovery, and I usually wipe the whole phone clean including the internal storage (I have backups on my PC) and I install the ROM, plus Gapps (With Pixel Experience ROMs I'm sure they come with the Gapps prepackaged so there's no need to install Gapps). After the wipe I reboot into recovery again, and flash the zip file for the rom. After that, I wipe my dalvic caches and reboot the phone. The first boot usually takes around 4-6 minutes, and it boots you right into the setup screen. Be sure to backup all your data and partitions.
How to go back to MIUI A10 based ROMs from OSS Vendor based ROMs without losing decryption and data:-
* Requirements: Decrypted Storage (if not Decrypted Format data before doing those steps), MIUI A10 Stock ROM, Orange Fox Recovery (TWRP didn't work very well for me) and DFE (attached)
* Steps:-
1. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
2. Flash MIUI ROM
3. Reboot recovery
4. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
5. Flash MIUI vendor based rom
6. Reboot recovery
7. Flash dfe
8. Reboot to system
Voila! Now you have your data as well as decrypted storage
Thank me later xD
Nice one. Thanks!

Not fw you'll have to flash the whole rom.
You can flash any Android 10 MIUI ROM (Except Elite) . I used MIUI pulse in my case.
