Hi,
I have a WT19i with Three UK.. *yada yada*
I got this phone because I wanted something new that looks good and works well, Since February and now I have discovered - I don't like the UI and I can't stand the screen.
Basically all I'm looking to do is unlock my bootloader so I can flash MIUI or CM9 but apparently, Three aren't going to let me unlock it. I checked in the service menu and it shows that the bootloader unlock is not allowed which really sucks.
I was going to do the testpoint method or official but after reading up, testpoint on a phone with 'Bootloader unlock allowed: No' can brick it..
Does anyone know if this is true? I'm seriously considering trying it anyway with S1 boot of whatever.. I can't stand this stupid software and UI anymore.
Thanks!
You need to use paid method to unlock your phone and enable fastboot. After that can bootloader be unlocked.

@Someguyfromhell You mean network unlock? I paid for my phone to be unlocked by Three last Saturday but they still don't have the key yet They said hopefully this Saturday
After that should I be able to unlock the bootloader?

Incorrect if done with code at the operator.
Only WotanServer, Omnius and these providers unlock both(at once I think, not sure).
To install custom ROM, install the custom kernel provided with the ROM, enter recovery and install the ROM.
Kernel installation is included in my tutorial, link in signature.

So will I have to unlock my bootloader some other way?
Installing kernels is just using the boot.img in the roms .zip through fastboot isn't it? Done it before on my old GT540 many times What command is it on the LWW?
I used to use flash boot boot.img?
Thanks

Yes, but if you had network lock you might have to enable fastboot also. Check it from service menu. Then you can unlock bootloader. Also in my tutorial.
Command ia "fastboot flash boot boot.img".

Hey!
I just got my unlock code! But my phone still says 'Bootloader Unlock Allowed:NO'
I might just do it through Omnius now.. Going to assemble a safety pin and wire!
Will tell you how it goes.
Nope.. Omnius won't work for me
Does anyone have any other idea to activate fastboot? Could I flash another stock generic rom?

ROM has nothing to do with fastboot.
Omnius did not work? What do you mean it didn't work?

Yeah I know that... But the Kernel does, And flashing another stock .62 or whatever should work?!
Omnius wouldn't detect the phone, It wouldn't go into testpoint mode

Yeah! haha.
I just tried it with a different wire, and it appears to have worked with S1boot?
I can't tell, It should be unlocked if the version is r and not R?
My version from Omnius identify is r9A021
Is there any other way I can tell?
Anyone know how to enable Fastboot?!

Unlocking the network lock yourself - No.
Unlocking bootloader - Yes.
Which option?

Whatever is better for you. Both ways work, if you follow the instructions properly.
Do some researching, read and learn and decide then.

Try installing custom kernel, if it succeeds, then bootloader is unlocked.

No, thats not true. I "unlocked" my BL with S1tool and says bootloader unlock allowed: yes . But is unlocked already.
If is unlocked with oficial method i think it says: rooted. Correct me if im wrong
Anyway. Try to flash custom kernel maybe is already unlocked

If you patched your bootloader with S1 Tool, then it says Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes.

Isn't it for only debranding and flashing mobiles. As written on their site.
After using it will I be able to use all simcard.as they say
"unlocking is NOT supported by WotanClient software!"
Maybe they have changed terms or something, it worked on smokerman. Try to send PM on how he did to unlock network on his unit.
i relocked my bootloader with a method on this forum but i want to know if the bootload is locked again. I am able to now update my phone using sony update service does that mean my bootloader is locked

So is there any way to flash JB on an Xperia U with locked bootloader? Or any hack to unlock the bootloader?

No, there is no way to flash JB on locked BL.
You can unlock the bootloader using Sony official tool/website for unlocking bl
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com
Before unlocking you can backup your TA partition, in case you wanted to give the phone to warranty. Later you can restore it - phone will be locked again and they will not know it was unlocked.

Cheers
try xperia u multitool by @AlexDroid00 HERE for unlocking bl

I dont think you should feel sad because of that. My bl can be unlocked, but after using custom kernel for 2days my phone became unusuable dur to extreme lags. That's why i stay with stock ROMS. They are good enough .

Hello!
Few months ago i unlocked my bootloader using official way .. Few days ago I locked my bootloader and now I wanna unlock my bootloader again.
What should i do now ?
Thanks
You...... Are epic. Unlock, lock and then unlock. Did you backup your DRM keys they last time you unlock? If you did not, you will lose bravia engine. I guess you can just unlock again

If you have saved unlock jey you can skip first step, otherwise you need to ask for the code again.
