Question S22 Plus Vs Realme GT 2 Pro - Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

Hey guys..
Where I'm based I can get a GT 2 Pro and S22 Plus for almost the same price, $45 difference. Which would be a better buy. I'm a bit conflicted cause I like a phone with good battery and amazing camera. The S22 Plus has much better camera and video in my opinion but the Realme has better battery life that can charge in half the time

No expandable memory in either and a camera that makes large files, perfect. 8gb of ram doesn't cut it, get 12. Don't forget the very useful spen with bt remote shutter release.
Personally I'm not impressed with either one.

Sub 4.8" phone - should I get Redmi 3?

I am looking for a new sub 4.8” phone. I had S4 mini once and the size was perfect. I then upgraded to LG G2 and it is frequently inconvenient to carry. Actually, when I think about it, the weight might be more important then than size, so provided the phone is light, I could go a bit larger than 4.8"
The things I MUST have:
- good camera: At least on the S4 level
- very good battery life
- MicroSD card slot, OR at least 50GB internal storage
- Android M: from manufacturer, I need photo quality at the highest possible level so that rules out CM13
- root
Things it would be nice to have, but can live without:
- NFC
- dual sim
- waterproof
Things I do not care for at all:
- gaming: I have been using a smartphone since 10 years now, and not once I played a game on it
- production year: I don’t care if the phone is 2016 or 2013, as long as it fits the bill
Here are the phones I already considered and rejected:
- Xperia Z3c: perfect phone with clown camera
- Xperia Z5c: after 4 hours of research it looks like Sony again made the camera not very good (might reconsider if it turns out the camera is actually good)
- Galaxy S5 mini: I read it is a downgrade form S4 mini (but if it is only about GPU then I might reconsider)
- LG G2 mini: good camera, size and battery, but no M, LTE and 1 GB of ram is a serious tradeoff
- Redmi 3: bad camera
- Mi4c: so-so camera and battery life
- Mi5: size, so-so camera
- Meizu Pro 5: OMG this phone is PERFECT... Except for being a shovel. Such a pity they never completed Pro 5 Mini.
Suggestions and comments will be appreciated.

I just got the redmi 3. Size is great. Prior to this, I used a oneplus one which was too large, and a first gen moto x, which was perfect size wise. Battery life on the 3 is amazing so far. Camera is good but not great. OS is lollipop with no indication that it'll be upgraded to marshmallow through official channels. If that is a hard requirement, then you should probably look at something else. The Mi5 would give you a better camera, marshmallow, and similar size at a more expensive price point.
If I were you, I'd buy Galaxy S7 or S8 in the end of year. 5" to 5.2" is nothing
you won't find a phone under 5" with very good battery life and all phones with good camera are above 5".
So take Redmi/Pro or Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus
Why do you want marshmallow? I made the mistake of allowing the upgrade to take place on a 5.1.1 2GB Moto G2015. Google have completely messed up the memory management in their attempts to consolidate the microSD card into main storage. Fortunately I was able to restore it back to 5.1.1 and regain proper control of storage location.
And there is nothing else other than claimed battery life improvement in marshmallow, which isn't necessary on the Redmi 3/3 Pro, since it's excellent anyway... It's the mtk chipsets that have awful battery life, this is Qualcomm.

Pray for a good camera?
I had the same problem mean small phone for woman's hands. Redmi 3 is probably the best sub 5" phone you can buy today. The battery life is crazy. With light use you may get 7 ( SEVEN ) days of work.
You may also consider Samsung Galaxy A3(2016) but I do not think is it any better
if u say "camera so-so" for mi5, redmi 3 is not for you.
It makes just sufficient pics, no more.
From my searching for over a week the is no even one smartphone under 5" produced in the world with decent camera.
You want good photos ? Buy DSLR.
There is no possibility that smartphone will ever make photos comparable to quality made by average compact camera. This is the matter of size of the lens. These are physics and optics rules.

V10 a worthy upgrade to Galaxy Note 4? Or too less differences to care

Quick question to you all: Do you think a V10 is a worthy upgrade coming from the SG Note 4?
I'm looking specifically at the camera of the V10, do you think the pic quality is a significant jump compared to the Note?
Also SD 808 vs. 805 and 4Gb RAM vs 3 Gb make it a little bit better., plus the 2nd screen. The price of the V10 is pretty attractive now...
Maybe here's someone who even own(ed) both phones and has therefore worthful experiences for me.
P.S.: I've read the allready existing thread from 2015 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/help/worth-to-note-4-to-lg-v10-t3255960,
but nobody'd talking about camera performance there
lg v10 has better hardware specs
but no development
if you flash roms don't buy this phone
the note 4 camera is very nice maybe better then v10
and the battery life of v10 is not good for me

Really, you think (know?) the camera of the Note 4 is better than the V10's?
I thought it's one of the top-notch cameras, since it's the praised G4 cam with even better software...
About flashing, I don't care much about that any more and try to get through with stock ROMs and without Root.
I learned the hard way that it might not be worth the hassle when you lose warranty because of rooting.
(Yes, Samsung denied warranty to me bc of rooting and I got an expensive repair out of that )

the camera is good maybe better than note 4 but overall it is not the best cam in the market
From Note 4 to V10, yes is a "must update". If you talk about Note 5 and V10 i probably say NO, but since is a Note 4...of course is a excelent update!
i cant say anything about camera on Note 4 but the V10 have the most complete phone-camera you can have, a lot of features not only in Camera mode but the best is video mode.
i cant complain about my battery life now, i have some issues last week but when reflash my stock ROM and do a debloat and nothing more i can tell you: use the phone brightness at 30% most of the time, wifi 24/7 and some apps always open i am getting a full day of battery and 5h - sometimes 6h, i did 6h from yesterday until today of Screen On Time!!!
overall is a full experience phone, you wont regret the change. and for the price you can grab it today is amazing!!!!!
Go for galaxy note 7,
I've owned both, the V10 is not really any better in any one area as far as usability and performance. Personally I miss the note 4 and had I known what I do today I would have kept the note 4 and sold the V10 I got with my upgrade. The camera is a pita, it's slow, not that great has no built in editing to speak of and other than it's occasionally awesome video it's a disappointment. The second screen is not functional on my V10 and I honestly don't care as it's of no use to me anyway. I've tried very hard to like this phone and I've accomplished that much I like it. As in its better than an iPhone or my old galaxy nexus. Its alright overall, nothing amazing, some major problems here and there for people and that's my 2 cents. Honestly I trade this for a new note 4 right now. If you can wait and upgrade to the note 7 I'd likely go that route.
The main features of v10 are audio and second screen. Camera is one of the best which you can find in phones (I would say that it's comparable with S7, but v10 has full manual mode for video recording).
I bought this phone because of audio.
Thanks all for your inputs so far!
I must say, I like my Note 4. Problem is, that after 1 year the internal memory started to fail (MMC_read errors + freezes + reboots = now dead).
Now, with me rooting and flashing happily, Samsung denied warranty and I am there to pay for the repairs (change of mainboard).
That's why I said I'll never ever buy a flagship again (at least at the release date), so the Note 7 is definitely out of the game (for it's ridiculous price anyway).
I am, however, currently torn between the V10 and S7 edge.
For the S7 speak the performance/top harware + the praised camera, but it's still 200.- more expensive. Plus it has the inbuilt battery, and I know from experience that the power keeps degrading over the years (my Note 4 needed a new battery after 1 year).
(P.S.: My Note 4 is now already at Samsung repair for 1 1/2 months - enough time to send a few phones to China for repair and get them back earlier - lol)
I went straight from a T-Mobile Note 4 to a T-Mobile LG V10. The performance and battery life of the V10 are worse, but the V10 has a very high-quality headphone output rivaling $200 dedicated Audiophile media players, the V10 has the same camera sensor as the Note 4 but features a faster, and sharper lens, manual controls, RAW support, and overall better image quality. The LCD in the V10 is no match for the AMOLED panel on the Note 4, especially in sunlight. It's honestly all about trade offs. It's worse phone than the Note 4 but it's a better MP3 player and a better camera.
The battery life does suck but this can easily be solved with an extended battery for 30 bucks on amazon for the battery that is double the factory or 50 - 60 for a battery that is triple the factory battery.
PowerBear (double) and ZeroLemon (triple).
On this phone I actually recommend the double because the gauging of the triple under android is pretty inaccurate and when it gets low you have to turn off the phone, pull the battery and restart it to get a accurate reading.
I came from a note 3, the specs are only slightly lower from the note 4 and there has been a world of difference in response time and performance.
The camera in LG products in general is fantastic vs samsung. My note had considerable shutter lag, this issue doesnt happen with the v10.
Outside of screen quality (which is still great on the v10 just not amoled like the note series) and battery life (which is mostly due to the screen differences, amoled can actually turn off portions of the screen that are black, v10 can't) it's a upgrade from the note 4. Battery life can be improved via a extended battery pack as mentioned.
I would consider waiting though because the v20 is right around the corner. Though I am uncertain what its features its going to have other than the 820 snapdragon processor.

Coming from S5 to P9 Plus ...

I just received my P9 Plus, the S5 is good but was getting a bit long in the tooth hardware-wise. The P9 Plus is now below 500$ in my country so I thought it was time to switch to current hardware. The S7 is still too expensive imho.
All good so far, I had to cut my sim-card with a scissor which seemingly works. It has gone through two updates in less than an hour. Now at B170. I was tempted by Mate 8 for it's more than excellent headphone output, but P9 Plus has AMOLED and an arguably better camera and is now even cheaper than Mate 8. And HP out is still better than S5, even though not quite up to Mate 8.
I haven't had time to play around with anything yet, this is just my initial hello to this group, more impressions will follow
As an S5 user myself i'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on the differences, benefits etc of the P9 Plus, as it's one of the phones on my shortlist to upgrade to.
I've only had it for two days now but;
It's much faster, roughly twice as fast(100% faster) at everything, lag is virtually nonexistent. I ran Geekbench 4 and it was faster than EVERY phone listed in their current charts. That means worldrecord fast. Faster than both the Galaxy S7 and Note 7 in GB4 combined score, both single- and multiprocessing. OnePlus 3 is way behind.
Screen is not only bigger, but much more clear, despite having the same resolution. Obviously it's a much higher specced type of AMOLED than in the S5.
Sound is much better, much more clean and smooth, both loudspeaker and using headphones. It drives fullsize cans without problems and without sounding the least harsh. Background is dead silent.
It's obvious 4GB RAM is of good use when switching between many apps, it never slows down. 64GB onboard storage is great, as is sdcard-tray.
It doesn't get warm, at all. The SOC is made with the same TSMC process as Nvidias new Pascal videocards, and it's a cool running type of chip.
Batterylife is more than twice that of a fully debloated S5, even though it hasn't been debloated at all.
Call quality is much better, network speed is faster. USB file transfer is much faster. USB-C is great.
Fit and finish is top class, same level as Galaxy S7/Iphone 7, in some regards even better.
Latest firmware B181 with Android patch for September 2016 installed without a hitch, EMUI 4.1.1 looks good clearly better than Touchwiz and certainly more smooth. And it has lots of small useful, contrary to unneccesary, features not present in vanilla Android.
8MP 1080P autofocus selfie-camera is useful for easily capturing clips of oneself, in example playing some guitar for Youtube
Stereo-speakers is nice, as is stereo sound recording. Sound in videos are recorded at 192kbps which is quite enough for some nice "bootleg".
The camera is of course of good quality, but I haven't had time to explore that one yet.
All in all, the only phone I may wish for even more is the new Mate 9. Huawei have already catched up with the big brands, and in some ways exceeded them imho
edit. it's one of the smallest and lightest 5.5" flagships, which is also nice.
edit2. Oh, and the fingerprint sensor actually works, and it is lightning fast.
You should really order a new sim as Old ones on new phones usually draw more energy.

Having a Note 8, I tested an S10+ 1TB for a week and didn't like it.

I've been always a Samsung Note user.
Since the first Note made by Samsung, I had most of the Notes. I basically like it's king-sized screen.
At the beginning, the Note was the smartphone with the biggest screen of all, so I bought it even though I didn't use the S-pen.
Lately I've been thinking on switching my Note 8 for the Samsung S10+ (similar screen size, but noticeable shorter and without s-pen (which I barely use), so I just went out there and bought the 1TB version.
Well, the word to describe my experience was: deception. I really didn't find any noticeable differences between the usage of the Note 8 and the S10+, other than cosmetical features. It makes sense as the Note 8 was (a couple of years ago) Samsung's flagship, so it should have enough processor power to still be a useable smartphone (as it is) nowadays.
I also thought
I didn't get the (what I call) 'WOW effect'. I only could appreciate the S10+'s performance running Antutu, where the S10+ of course almost doubled my Note 8 (31k points versus 16k I think).
The 'ultrasonic fingerprint reader' featured in the S10+ was convenient because it's located in the front screen (rather than the backside as is located in the note 8) but that was it. I didn't find it faster than the Note 8's fingerprint reader. I still find faster the Note 8's iris reader. I'm super-happy with the iris-reader as it can see even through my glasses and even mirrored sun-glasses.
I also thought that, with 1 terabyte of capacity, the S10+ could make longer super-slow motion videos, but no way. Just 2 seconds of super-slow-mo, just as the old Note 8.
So, in my opinion, the S10+ wasn't worth the thousand bucks I paid for, so as I had problems with the charger not functioning properly, and somehow disappointed by the lack of what I call 'WOW effect', I decided to return the phone and get a refund. I think I will wait to see the next Note 10...
Just wanted to share with you pals.
Hey, well I have both too, the exynos note 8 and snapdragon s10+, the only thing I love from the s10+ are the battery life, in my note 8 that has a 87% battery health lasts 4hrs sot and the s10+ gives me more than 6hrs sot. Other thing good is the selfie camera it looks great on the plus, the principal camera in my opinion looks very similar (I haven't tried yet the night mode). Besides those two things the note is really great. Heck is the phone I'm using right now.
