With older apps, it was previously possible to access the app menu by pressing and holding the app overview button.
This is apparently no longer possible with the Galaxy Tab S7 (SM-T870).
Unfortunately, this app does not have the three dots or a button to get to the menu.
Is there another way I can open the app's menu?

As much as possible through virtual screen keys, for example, in the Button Savior application, which simultaneously helps save the power and volume key.

there were three buttoms on our phone
back home and menu
but the ics's three buttom is back home and multitask
i am wondering that can someone mod menu buttom to multitask buttom?
when i press menu and i will open multitasking screen just like original ics
and sorry for my poor engliah
Here you can see what has happend to the menu button.
There where you need it, it is a little button on the right corner or on playstore right left corner.
But the optiones are not away, in ICS you've got more options!
You still need that menu button for legacy apps, otherwise you couldn't access the menu.
Long-pressing home button still acts as a multitask button.

I'd prefer the option to use the menu button as a multitasking button, get the settings icon in proper ics apps, and long press for menu in legacy apps. Is that option available?

Anyone manage to enable the on screen navigation button on s3 yet? tried the old method to set the enable navigation button value in the framework-res.apk like what we did on s2 but it didn't work.
trying to get the navigation button for my wife as the home button is not very comfortable to press and we are worry about the durability of the home button. besides, it would be a lot more convenient to have the recent app button for multitasking. holding the home button to bring up the recent task takes too much time.
Appreciate if anyone can help. thanks.
If you got root try this great application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hoopajoo.android.SoftKeys&hl=en

Hi thanks for the information, it helps. we will be using the app now until someone figures out how to enable the navigation buttons. the only downside with the app now is that it doesn't have a recent task button as well, but at least the home button is there.
Holding the menu button to bring up google only works on the homescreen. How can I create a shortcut to access it from anywhere, even inside other apps?
hold down the home button to get the recent switcher and on the bottom there will be a button.

If you are on a Touchwiz ROM with their stock features, just bring up the multi-tasking/recent apps screen and there is a Google Now button at the bottom.
is it possible to map the home button to function as multiple buttons? ex. 1 press for back long press for home and double press for menu etc?
Check button savior app

is it not possible to simply map the home button to function as all three?

u can try some CM10.1/AOKP based custom roms which have the same (hardware keys rebinding functionality)
I want to remap the power button so it toggles NFC when I long press it (only when the screen is on). So far every app I've found is unable to do anything with the power button. I'm using a rooted Lineage OS 18.1.

Try this
Button Mapper: Remap your keys - Apps on Google Play
Remap hardware buttons to launch any app, shortcut or action

Thanks, but that app doesn't work either. It says it can't modify the power button on the splash screen.
Would you want any other buttons, power button turns off the display so im not sure about NFC activating?

Lol, I know it sounds silly, but hear me out.
When you hold the power button the phone shows you a menu with the Power menu and, most importantly, card payment. As I don't want to keep NFC on all the time to avoid battery drain, I had an idea to turn on NFC every time I opened my Google Pay card payment menu (power button hold).
Ahh then you try finding an Xposed module?
You’ll find more chances of success in that way
