Whatsapp control from another app - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible by a third party app to block incoming communication from some contacts on Whatsapp, or is it possible to externally (from another app) force Whatsapp to block contacts?
More technically is it possible to use specific Whatsapp API for this particular activity?
Is using Whatsapp API the only way to do so?
Waiting for your kind answer

If you're looking for a way to block a user you may use Whhatsapp API to do so. But to block calls only from specific contacts i can't confirm.

In need of a customizable auto reader

I am hoping someone can tell me if the following app exists, as I havent been able to find something that works. I would like to be able to customize what apps are integrated with voice playback ONLY when I am on bluetooth. So for instance I would like all incoming SMS's, Google Talk, and Google Voice messages read aloud whenever I am using a bluetooth headset. Additionally, I would like the flexibly to have just the sender and subject of an email read (or the whole email if I choose) for specific email accounts I have setup. Basically, I want to have the ability to add any app that provides text notifications/updates read aloud to me but only when a bluetooth headset is enabled. Doe such an app exist out there?

App to delete an SMS as soon as it is received.

I want an app which would block all SMS from a particular number. If this isn't possible, at least, can I delete the SMS from a particular number as soon as it is received..? Something like an automated task or something?
There is lots of applications that can block SMS from someone in Google Play. For example:

[Q] Method hooking - or: how to get other apps data

Hi there, Android newbie here
I just came across this WhatsApp widget for Root which is able to display recent messages. I was wondering how the developers managed to get the data from WhatsApp.
As of now, I can think of three possible ways:
a) The widget refreshes its contents whenever it detects activity on the WhatsApp message database.
b) The widget "hooks" methods that get called in one of WhatsApps activities when new messages arrive and mirrors the messages into its own database.
c) The widget listens for push messages with the WhatsApp signature or listens for traffic between WhatsApp and their servers.
I use the termin "hooking" because of the way iOS tweaks are written, I have no idea if this is possible on Android. Which way is more likely? Any suggestions are appreciated
Let me elaborate on the background of my question: I noticed that WhatsApp groups new messages as a single item in the notification window. I'm thinking about selling my iPhone and getting an Android phone, but I would like to have a preview of all incoming messages like iOS's notification center.
Hmm... anyone? is this the wrong board?

Dialer Picker

With the increasing number of secure and non-secure communications apps out there, and the variety of SMS/MMS, etc available, it would be great to have a way of specifying which app is used per contact entry to use.
For example, if you have a contact in your phone that only knows your Google Voice number, but not your real phone number, instead of trying to remember which number you gave him, you can specify either in an app, or the contacts list, that any time you call or text this person, it will use your Google Voice number automatically. Or, you are chatting with someone online and you want to use WhatsApp to communicate with them instead of Skype, or instead of Kik. Or, you want to have secure communications with a spouse with end-to-end encryption and want to use Signal instead of your default SMS app.
Does anyone know of an application that can do this, or a modification to make?
