Hello,
Since the A520F is new there is no device three to build a rr rom or lineage OS.
There is no recent documentation, and in the newer branches there is no makevendor.sh in the source of lineage OS.
So it seems to it is impossible to build a unofficial lineage OS or make a device tree and build cm14 from the Samsung OS files.
Can someone help me out of this?
I got the kernel source from Samsung open source and platform.tar

Hello, I want to build a custom rom from source for my MTK Device. I am experienced in linux and in porting roms. On XDA I found some guides, what I need and etc. But none of them were enought for me. My device doesnt have device tree/vendor tree.. So by those guides I started making one. Someone from Reddit helped me how to start and fix few problems. This is my tree now: https://github.com/Marekkon5/gionee-s5_5-device-tree . So I need some help:
1. How to add the headers to kernel
2. How to get all those files u can see in other device trees?
3. Some edits (if needed) for MTK.
ROM: LineageOS 13
Device: Gionee S5.5
Chipset: MT6592 (Mediatek)
Thanks
well i didnt know where to ask so i made my thread here
i'm kind of new to Custom rom Building but i've started to get well
there is a couple of question i would like to ask
i have a Huawei Holly Hol-U19 android phone and it has a 7.1 RR rom ,
so first do if i like to build an oreo rom , i know that i need to have the device tree and vendor tree
as i was looking around github , i have found a device tree but i can post it cuz i am new here .... just search liquidporting huawei holly
but under branch i get CM 14.1 Which is Android 7.1
my question is do i need a device tree which has a CM 15 branch ?
my second question is .. i looked online and saw that to build a device tree you need the boot.img and recovery.img of the stock rom , but the stock rom is 4.4.4 and the highest rom i can find which is 7.1 so is there any way i could make a 8.0 ROM ?? without a CM 15 Device tree ?
and somehow i can find its vendor tree ... so if someone made a full explaintion i would be delighted
Greetings masters of XDA,
It has been 3-days of tiring attempts to port TWRP recovery on my EX-mobile chat_pro ex39i , i need help!
I don't have the skills to built TWRP from source and source code for my devices isn't available
my device has
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- Kernel 3.18.19 with September 5, 2016 Security patch
- Mediatek MT6580
- EMMC type partition
- Unlocked OEM
- Not rooted
- Stock recovery :crying:
I used plenty of tools like AIK, Carliv's, a tool from kaskus to extract the .img files but after repacking and flashed to my phone, it still stock recovery i think the fault was at mount points editing ( in recovery.fstab ) but i can't get it solved
I used TWRP as port as they have same chipset from
- Vivo y31 ( Lollipop 5.1)
- Gionee M5 mini ( Marshmallow 6.0 )
- and two more i can't remember where i took it
please Please Please someone help give me some guide to finish this, or
, here i attached stock boot.img and recovery.img if someone willing to gives me blessing by building it for me
I just want to have fun with root features ...
Hi,
I am Currently Looking to Develop Lineage OS 17.1 for RMX2001 IN version. I am Missing Device and Vendor Trees for the device, and Realme aren't looking likely to release them. Could anyone share the same, if available?
Thanks.
Hi, Thanks for the link. i will be developing unofficial version at first, if other maintainers are ready to teamup, then it might have an official build.
