Samsung Galaxy J500F FAP/FRP removal - Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015) ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries

Hi all,
A friend gave me a Samsung J500F, which I want to use for my 3d printer , but the app doesn't install correctly (octo4a). I want to try a different ROM, but I can't flash TWRP because of the lock. I asked him if he remembers the original email he used, but he doesn't. I have tried to flash the stock ROM 6.0.1, but I just get an error that there was an attempt to do a factory reset.

{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
I already tried that. I can't open the privacy policy

You can try removing google account first, then allow oem unlock from developer options and then flash stock rom via odin.

Yeah that was the issue. I didn't have OEM unlock enabled, since in the video for rooting linked in the sticky thread didn't mention it.

Stock Firmware Backup - Nonroot

Hello,
As the title suggests, I'm looking for a way to completely backup my stock device without root.
This would include firmware and stock recoveries, basically system files - as I'm not really too terribly worried with saving personal data.
I've searched through various threads but I think I'm in one of those "in-over-my-head" situations, so let me explain why I haven't just flashed a custom recovery and made a nandroid backup.
My device is the C-Spire Note 5, SM-N920R7, running 5.1.1 - recognized by Smart Switch with no updates available.
I received this device in the mail today - because I somehow managed to brick my old device with the "custom binary blocked" FRP.
There is no stock firmware available for download to flash in Odin, and it was impossible to boot the device in regular or recovery mode, leaving me with Download mode.
In order to root my old device, I had to unlock the OEM in Developer Settings and flash the "Beastmode" kernel via Odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...rnel-beastmode-modified-stock-1-0-sm-t3196174
Then, I flashed a TWRP recovery and used it to install SuperSU - and voila! I had rooted my device.
Fast forward a few months... My battery died one day and it somehow triggered the FRP lock - with only Download mode available and no C-Spire stock firmware to flash.
Naturally, I want to root my device again, but first I want to create a complete backup of my device that would be flashable in Odin even with the FRP lock on.
So ladies and gentlemen, any help or advice would be appreciated.
I would of course, upload my firmware publicly so that anyone else using this device doesn't brick their phone like I did.
Did you ever get an answer to this? I'm in the same boat and want to do the same thing.

The only way I've seen involves capturing temporary files during an update through Kies or Smart Switch.
Being on C-Spire, that probably will not ever happen.
Maybe C-Spire will get it together and push out 6.0.1 OTA like the rest of the world - as well as actually providing an alternate (non-OTA) download method.
Apparently some guy on the C-Spire Dev forums paid for a ROM on a Chinese site that works with our phones - which would serve as a nice backup if he would ever upload it.
I asked him to - and apparently he contacted the admins asking for a way to upload the file to the forums.
After they responded to him, he must have never uploaded the file.

(oem: unlock is not allowed), can't turn on oem unlock because factory reset bricked

[SOLVED] i'm stuck in a vicious loop of flashing that i need to unlock my bootloader to flash stock rom but my phone is stuck on the page "CHECKING CONNECTION THIS MAY TAKE A WHILE" hence rendering me helpless on how to turn allow oem unlock on in dev settings on my lenovo vibe k5, I used king root to root my device but it started misbehaving with google play services so i decided to factory reset it, now i can't even get into my phone, and can't even flash stock rom any suggestions how to get out of this?
Edit: HI everyone thanks for the helpful comments after I've SOLVED this just a suggestion for whoever who stumbles on this or is in a similar situation like this , Turns out my twrp did not do the factory reset properly and hence allow oem unlock was on and hence i was able to flash a stock ROM using QFIL program in QPST description of the procedure will be and can be found on the super thread of the device please refer and flash it.
IMPORTANT: flash a stock ROM of a lower version that seems to work wonders ,I literally had to uninstall android by wiping my system folder because I didn't have a backup[NOOB MISTAKE] and i thought i'll wipe entirely and reinstall the OS and that worked out by the power of other helpful XDA threads
One question
What is bootloader status when you buy the phone from your provider??
I want to buy it but Not if at the end i will have bootloader locked and not to be able to unlock it??
Like the Sony Xperia models
All provider ones comes with bootloader locked forever so you never even get root or twrp or anything custom
Please advice me regarding bootloader locked status
Thanks

IMEI null after factory reset/wipe data

Help please, when my phone got bootloop from xposed framework and do factory reset now my IMEI is null. I tried a lot of thing in internet and didn't work. Also tried flash stock ROM with latest version MIUI, didn't work too.
Ubl unlocked
As far as I'm aware, this will be because encryption has been removed from the data partition. I've got the same problem after installing a GSI ROM. Haven't had chance to fix it yet myself, but I believe flashing stock MIUI using the Mi Flash Tool should fix this. If you've unlocked the boot loader then be aware that the default option when flashing will relock it, so you will need to change the option to install only and not install and lock.
I'm just on here now looking for a link to the official flash tool download. Searching Google returns dozens of sites with the tool, but I don't trust downloading from third party sites.

SCPH-I545 - Bypass Reactivation Lock (w/ Root/TWRP)

Hi! This is my first post here, so if I say something even relatively taboo, I apologize.
I recently picked up a Samsung Galaxy S4 from a seller on Letgo. However, it was formatted in such a way that it tripped the reactivation lock. The seller says they got it from a Goodwill listing, so he has no way of contacting the original owner. Even Samsung won't help, as they require a printed receipt.
At this point, I've rooted the phone via KingRoot and installed TWRP. (If anyone wants to find out how, hit me up!) With full su access and a terminal, is there a way to manually disable the reactivation lock and flash Lineage OS? If so, I'd be happy to know.
Thank you so much!

What bootloader are you on? Given you have TWRP I am guessing it's MDK. Have you tried flashing the firmware you are on over what you have with odin? This will erase everything and bring you back to full 100% stock like it just came out of the box.

Hey, thanks for the reply!
First off, how would I check this to make sure? I really don't want to permanently brick my phone.
Second, will this fix the bootloader flag?
Thanks!

Goto settings, about phone, software info to find out what bootloader you're on. It'll be under "baseband". Look at the last 3 letters. If it says MDK you're in luck, do NOT update your phone or else you will patch the bootloader and thus will not allow TWRP anymore. What bootloader flag are you getting? Is TWRP working or does it give an "unauthorized software" message?
Samsung Galaxy s4 locked with original Samsung account... I factory data reset it and can't get access to that information... So can I bypass it?
You will need to find the pit file for it. I think I got mine from a zip file on androidfilehost called Samsung pit files or something similar. You will need the pit file for the jfltevzw. You will also need to download the firmware for it. In Odin click on the repartition tab and load up your pit file and then the firmware file under the AP section and let it run the reflashing process. This is what removed the reactivation lock for me. Turn off auto reboot and then reboot into Odin right away and it will say if the lock is still on or off.

Unlocking/rooting an A21?

I have a brand new Galaxy A21 (SM-S215DL). In Developer Options, there is NO OEM Unlock toggle (not even a grayed out one; it simply does NOT exist anywhere in settings). I have tried several different variants of the date/time trick to try to get it to appear, and none of them worked. But while in Download Mode, KG Status is shown as `CHECKING`, so doesn't that mean it should at least be visible? Do I even need to unlock my bootloader? Is it even possible?
Using Frija, I managed to get what I believe to be the correct stock firmware for my device. I also grabbed both of the latest official and patched versions of Odin. Flashing the stock firmware works, but flashing the patched Magisk AP fails with an AUTH error for file `vbmeta.img`, which leads me to believe that I actually DO need to unlock my bootloader... but if that's the case, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do so without the OEM toggle.
Is there anything else can I try?

I also have the Samsung A21 from T Mobile (SM-A21UZKATMB). The phone is unlocked by T Mobile but there is no OEM bootloader unlock button under the Developer mode. Changing the date (forward and backward in time), then run the software update did not solve the OEM bootloader unlock button problem. I suspect the carrier (T Mobile) has disabled this function. You will need to unlock the bootloader to install the stock firmware.
To those who have enabled the OEM bootloader in the A21. Is your phone locked to a carrier in the USA like Verizon or T Mobile?
I also have the SM215DL, using straight talk utilizing verizon service, I also cannot unlock the bootloader. Everything you guys did, I did. Nothing worked.
samsung has done this to all A series phones intended for the U.S. from what i understand
Where there's a will, there's a way... someone has messed with my phone too do doesn't that mean that they're altering the data/data partition to r/w. Did you guys try fastboot flashing unlock vs. fastboot oem unlock. I'm going to contact Samsung about this and let u all know what's up.
And also why would there be a usb debugging port if this phone can't be modded? Idon't know the answer but maybe someone more expediency could come in and help us out. I also wonder if the flash_image command or just dd it would bypass it?
... there is NO way, to root the A21(s), see here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-possibility.4130739/page-12#post-84944589

I confirm that I have rooted my A21S sucessfully using this modified magisk (U3 Rom). No need to patch the whole AP.tar file, just patch boot.img file only. I upload my patched boot.img for those who need it. Just flash it via odin in AP slot. Thank you very much @grccorps.

[SHARING] HOW TO ROOT A21S STOCK ROM WITH MAGISK
Hello friends I just want to share how to root A21S stock rom in case anybody needs it: 1. Unlock bootloader 2. (On PC) Extract boot.img.lz4 from AP...tar file, then copy it to phone 3. (On phone) Install ZArchiver to extract boot.img from...
forum.xda-developers.com
... and u shure, it its for the A21s or for A21 ?
The only hope of getting root on this phone is if you find a Dev who's interested enough to build a bootstrap recovery. I've not looked at the firmware & have no idea if there's an exploit that would work for that purpose.
Bootstrap recovery was the only way of getting root/custom recovery back in the days of Motorola D2 & Droid X, the original Droid X. Motorola was THE phone for development... Liberty ROM, Gummy ROM, Simply Stunning, etc.
I would not hold out hopes for that to happen here.
Peace - MS

No, Samsung has done this to ALL North American models ever since the Galaxy S8. The bootloaders are not user-unlockable, like they are on international models. However, some models can be rooted via a software exploit if they're running very old firmware, or some models can even be bootloader unlocked via special files, if their firmware version is old enough

and where does one get 'TWRP' for the Samsung Galaxy A21S?? Thanks for the post its very detailed with very clear instructions, and i agree with you this is the tried and tested and perfect way of rooting your phone, only problem is that this is an unperect world a world where 'TWRP' for the SM-A217F does not exist
I just received a refurbished SM-S215DL (A21,) not as my provider's solution to the VoLTE soon to be required for 4G devices thing and right now it's a pretty severe downgrade for me since it lacks a lot of basic functionality I'm used to from my 2017 phone running LineageOS. Obviously it's pretty unlikely or probably outright impossible to ever see a real LineageOS ROM for this thing (and even if someone ever does it probably would be insanely unstable or incomplete,) but if I could at least root it (even if I have to manually patch or something) it would really help me out a lot. Has just nothing really been found short of sending some unknown person online some very very key device details and money (which I don't have or I'd be buying something else anyway)? (Also kind of suspicious that whatever method they're using isn't something available to the public anyway...)
