not needed to flash other regions.... look for my guide to drop sometime tomorrow or Monday. I sucessfully DOWNGRADED, 3 full revisions lower, and converted my 10T 5g, from a 2419 (tmobile) to a 2415 (Eu/Global) ... and i have jumped around to the NA 2417 & India 2413, all using the same proces. So i can confirm that it can be done.
I am just finishing, verifying that ive covered ALL the important facts, and my steps are clear and concise. But no more than 48hrs til i post it!

Will I need to be rooted? Flashed beta 1 Android 13eu version and the cellular data is wonky and I can't flash back to 2417 .10 or update to .10 2417. I.m stuck on either .08eu or beta1eu....it won't let me update to .10eu for some reason.
I'm not rooted at the moment. It looks as though I will need a beta Android 13 2417 variant full package to flash back to a 2417 and we don't have it yet..

They don't release it, it leaks, and it's useless to the end user now as it uses a VIP signature to authenticate and that signature is generated by the unique chip ID in each phone when it connects to their server. In other words, you have to send it to OnePlus if you brick it.

Correct. They have become very hostile to the very people who made their brand take off to begin with - power users and gamers. They've snubbed both groups.

well.. complicated to explain but I will keep it short some partitions for each of IND EU AND USA are not exactly the same. but why luck plays a part in it because sometimes it can be successful due to some of them actually are being the same but a bit of a different code but similar enough to where it would not brick it so basically it all depends on luck.

It's almost guaranteed we will get a stock B27 recovery image. I do not see them dumping MiFavor, not even with N.
Question is what kind of recovery method will they use (DFU/EDL flasher or just full zip) and can we generated custom "MiFavor" from them

Hopefully it's stock images so I can finally root my phone free of worry.

as long as they don't make you sign away our warranty for the bootloader unlock and stock image use, else I'll have to do it the old way and keep my warranty under US law.
Nothing for EU still. Looks like EU won't get an official unlock...
Sadly this has nothing to do with the EU model whatsoever.
Very sad to see the EU model just 'ignored' and forgotten in terms of bootloader unlock and updates.

I'm guessing since they say that's in final testing and next update is almost ready to roll out, I'd more guess it will be with whatever that build is. But it will definitely just be a stock image, not AOSP.

The EU model has had just as many updates as the US one at this point. US got B18->B20->B27. EU has gotten B02->B03->B05.
Bootloader is slightly different, but the US model currently doesn't have support for that either, as they pulled it to rework it.
Where the US is definitely better is in communication from the respective ZTE branch.

Thanks, new Mi user here and I used parts of the tutorial and have working root. I did not flash the root zips proposed, as I do not know them, I flashed SuperSu for root as soon as I had a working TWRP.
My bootloader was already unlocked by reseller and some unofficial global ROM was flashed on it. :crying:

Non-existing ROM?
Hello guys,
I received my Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Global version from Gearbest, but I gues there's something not right with it. I have MIUI v8.2.9 (I just read news about 8.2 coming for some Xiaomi devices today). I have this system, since I got the phone (more, than a week). It really is global ROM, since I have a lot of languages, it supports B20 4G, however this ROM is soemthing non-existing stuff. It says Android version is 6.0, MIUI is v8.2, that quite not right. Any suggession on what the heck this is, is very much appreciated!

Got a few PM on this already, and saw that videos are starting to be posted on this.
MOD EDIT: LINK REMOVED
Clearly shows that it's done just like mine. And shows the global rom as well.
I can say my experience has been great. Signal on att and TMobile seem to be the same, they work great. I also have used Verizon as well.
The phone has got 5G on TMobile in a lot of places.
The software now on global seems faster, no Chinese pop ups etc, no forcing you to use the stock browser when clicking links etc.
The telegram user posted earlier in another thread here on xda, is the same person who generated the key to unlock mine.
Thanks for this. The only thing not clear yet is whether people who flashed global will get OTA or not
People who flash global rom with unlocked bootloader do not get any OTA updates
which means you are stuck forever on the leaked beta 20.2.24 until someone releases a new version

Hey guys,
So i was messing around with ROMS,
Like EVOx, EU roms and suddenly after flashing latest EU rom i lost L1 cert,
I tried flashing stock rom, PE, Evo, etc still no luck,
It seems i cant get my L1 cert again.
If you have any idea how to get it back please share.
I would really appreciate it.
Watching Netflix in 480p sucks.
from what I know L1 cert is unique for every phone. You must use the one who came with your phone. its in persist.img that I hope you backed up before flashing EU rom. If you don't, you'll have to get used to 480p. Sometimes some developer publish a fix for very specific devices, not our case tho.

Well okay, have read a bit through the net.
Seems like the only way would be if you have a backup of the Persist Partition of exactly YOUR device.
Seems like you have overwritten this partition while flashing.
This information would have been good to know in ROM install guides before flashing >.>

I have seen other devices able to get back L1.
Does getting the device to mi service center will help?
I guess best way to get a 100% answer is to write a mail to the service center.
Or perhaps you could ask the people who were able to "repair" their phones and got L1 back ?

Should i try clean+lock?
I had read that if you loose L1 you can't fix it it unique for every phone. You should have done a backup in your persist partition before flashing and testing.

Actually even when not flashing, i myself lost l1 while locked bootloader. It happens after updating my phone to 11.0.8.0.
Many of my fellow countryment experienced also this. The weird thing is that there are some who does not experience this problem. There are others where widevine L1 is preserve on stock rom OTA update and there are some like me who lost it. This has been acknowledged by devs and Xiaomi mods. And still waiting for a fix. So for me i think it is not eu rom related

I lost it when I tried to update from 0.7 to 0.8 EU
Can you suggest a way to get it back sir?
That's really confusing.
I first updated my EEA Version with the inbuilt Updater to 11.0.3 and L1 was still present, and then after nearly 14 days I unlocked my bootloader and flashed the XIAOMI EU Custom ROM, version 11.0.9 and still got L1.
Is your mobile on Global ROM (with MI in the title) or on EEA (with EU in the title)?
It's strange cause I'm sure there are maaany users out there who have updated their device at least once, and the problem of the change from L1 to L3 seems not to be wide spreaded one, when reading through the different boards.
Most people are complaining about the wifi bug mainly... ?

We won't know until we get hold of the MSMDownload Tool for the Retail N200 ROM, to test it out. The good news is that I just saw the post from @lzgmc about having got hold of the tool. Not clear yet if it is for the retail version or Tmobile version or both. Stay tuned!
I think his msmdownload is for t-mobile... I have a OP full paid version that's bricked...so I see hope .. yet my second phone takes 12 hours to charge and drains fast .. it hurts me to have a brand new phone that I can't use.. anyways its my fault so

In that case, you are the perfect candidate to request a "remote session" with Oneplus and grab a copy of the MSMDownload Tool for retail/unlocked version! You can get your phone unbricked in the next few hours, if you want to.
