[closed] Internet not working after turning DSDS off. - Moto E7 Questions & Answers

Recently I turned DSDS off in the phone testing menu *#*#4636#*#* then I followed the prompt to reboot.
This was foolish as I didn't know what DSDS was.
After the reboot my phone only recognised one Sim slot and imei, this didn't bother me too much as I only have one sim however later I found that my WiFi doesn't work because of it.
Fastboot reports that the second imei is 000000000000000
I cannot enable DSDS from the menu as it no longer thinks I have two Sim slots
When I try to connect to a network it sits on "Obtaining IP address..."
This happens on networks I have used in the past as well as new networks.
I have tried:
Forgetting and reconnecting to the access points.
Resetting the network settings.
Rebooting.
None of these worked so I tried restoring an MTKClient backup from three weeks ago, but to no avail.
I think the reason this didn't work was that I hadn't backed up the RPMB partition.
In a last ditch effort I attempted rooting so I could enable DSDS using setprop.
I did this using MTKClient and Magisk 25.2 with vbmeta patched.
However the device entered "Red State" because verified boot failed.
I have tried unlocking bootloader using MTKClient but it doesn't work.
My question now is how do I enable DSDS and fix my internet and hopefully imei.
I think I remember something about a Motorola Fastboot command to tweak modem stuff however I don't remember exactly what is was.
Motorola e7 XT2095-3 dual Sim.
Android 10, retapac firmware.
Kernel version 4.9.190+
January 2022 android security patch level.

The problem has been resolved by restoring the firmware with Lenovo Smart Rescue Assistant.
After restoring I have both imeis and the internet works.

No signal issue

Hi all.
I have run into a problem recently with my OPX: I can not use my sim card at all.
Maybe somebody can give me a hint on how to fix it.
Here are some useful information:
SIM works in a Nexus 5
*#06# shows the same IMEIs as on the OPX box
WIFI works
BT works
Reseted APN settings
Tried stock 2.x
Tried stock 3.1.3
Tried Sultan CM13
*#*#4636#*#* -> Telephone Information: Changing preferred network type does not have any affect - stays at "WCDMA prreferred"
Thanks
I was having the same problem then by mistake followed these codes without efs back-up.
Fastboot erase modemst1
Fastboot erase modemst2
So I advice not to follow these codes if anyone tells you to do so. I lost both imei numbers because of these codes.
You can recover your signals by using unbrick method by flashing rescue ROM with help of msm download software
Sent from my OnePlus X using XDA Labs
I have tried the msm way by following the instructions from gizmochina.com
Still have no signal and I am running out of ideas
Out of interest, what network are you on?

SIM unrecognized due to sudden corrupt IMEI

I have had an unlocked VS985 for three years now overseas and its been flawless so far. It all started when suddenly one day the SIM failed to be recognized. I put the SIM in an another phone and it works fine. No other SIM card gets recognized on the device. These are a summary of things I've tried so far:
1) I initially thought flashing another ROM would fix it, and I tried like 3-4 ROMS available in XDA (thanks to all the devs!!). Nothing helped. The SIM continued to be unrecognized in all the ROMS. I then flashed back the stock ROM by the TOT method.
2) I then suspected it could be something with the phone radio and started investigating in that direction. I tried enabling all the bands through the shortcut app and that too did not fix it.
3) I found the hidden menus to attempt turning on/off the radio but found that I was unable to enter what's called as "Phone info" hidden menu (picture attached) that contains this radio on/off option. Although it didn't let me enter I noticed that the phone IMEI in that menu was missing the last digit. The IMEI in the Setttings -> about phone (or below the battery) shows an IMEI with the same digits but with one extra number at the end. I suspected that somehow this IMEI mismatch of the last digit IMEI was the reason the phone is blocked for all cellular connections.
4) I then tried fixing the IMEI with the Qualcomm QPST method but unfortunately unable to enable the DIAG USB ports. I tried that with adb commands with terminal emulator and all the commands are accepted without an error. But when I connect the phone with debugging the appropriate COM ports don't show up on the QPST configuration. I also tried that with the phone hidden menu (##7764726985) but the "Port check" option that must show up is just not there.
I am stuck now. I am not sure what exactly has happened and if my diagnosis on the IMEI is valid. A phone service center tells that the SIM slot is good and this is a software problem. Can someone please help me fix this? It could be a simple fix to access the DIAG USB port or a bigger fix to the whole problem. I just don't understand how the IMEI could have randomly changed when it was fine for all the 3 years thus far. It has been a harrowing 2 weeks trying to find a solution and I'm tired. Please HALPPPP!
EDIT: I was able to get into the debugging mode and was able re-write the correct IMEI. I restarted the phone and still its the same as in the first picture, missing the last digit. May be as a consequence, the phone is unable to recognize SIM or letting me access this menu
I received the SIM card unrecognizable alert, with my original G3. I took it into a VZW store and they told me it was a hardware failure. They replaced the phone on an insurance claim. Never had the issue again. I don't have any experience IMEI issue.

How to Reset Radio Cell settings / Force enabling SIMs after messing with Bands ?

Hi everyone,
First post on XDA after years looking for solutions for my smartphones here.
I was playing a bit with my Archos 50 Diamond (dual-sim, 2015), in order to use it as my main phone, as my current one is slowly dying. I purchased a new touchscreen I replaced myself as the former one was broken, and tried to put my SIM inside. No signal.
I tried a factory reset. Still no signal. SIM was detected, asked for PIN, but no signal. After searching in several forums, I managed to arrive on Radio Info settings. (code through dialer is *#*#46363#*#*, anyway I cannot access any code through the dialer, don't know why, so I arrive there using an app downloaded on Play Store)
As I was playing around, I chose "Choose Radio Band" and selected USA Band. Big mistake. All frequency were gone (GSM, LTE) and the "prefered network" option is stuck on "WCDMA only". Of course, I live in France, we use GSM/LTE frequencies, so no signal.
Moreover, the "Turn Radio on" button doesn't affect the radio cells.
After a few factory resets, I already tried the following :
- erasing modemst1 and modemst2, through fastboot. It resulted only in erasing IMEI, great. I restored IMEI through "IMEI changer.exe" I found on the web. Both IMEIs came back.
- enabling all necessary bands through CDMAtool (or Qualcomm QSPT/QXDM tools, it's the same process, using Android Diagnostic Mode) - All GSM/LTE bands will appear on the smartphone using an app like "Network Signal Guru". After that, I can change "prefered network" in "Radio Info menu", so this is better that stuck on "WCDMA prefered". But the SIM is now undetected, no PIN is asked, so I cannot even verify if signal is back.
- Adb shell su -c "radiooptions [arguments from 0 to 8, 0 resets, 5 turns on)" _ using option 5 will actually turn Radio on, but no effect on if the SIM is detected or not. By the way, it turns radio cell for 1st SIM, but not for 2nd (we can see it in "About Phone, State" in phone settings)
- Tried to edit build.prop in order to see what I can do, but I couldn't see no effects either.
- Tried to flash NON-HLOS.bin, but didn't help either. I couldn't find fsg file inside my factory firmware image zip.
So for now, I know how to enable bands I need with CDMAtools, and turning on/off radio cell through adb shell or Terminal Emulator. However Radio Cell will turn off automatically on every reboot, need to turn on manually everytime I boot.
But SIM is not detected at all. I'm not sure if there would be some signal if SIM was detected, but it would be great if I could figure it at least.
Phone is rooted, STOCK firmware Android 4.4, no existing custom ROM, can boot into CMW if needed.
I've tried a lot of tutorials, I don't even remember which ones I did or not, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't find solutions on XDA or stackexchange at this moment.
If you can help, thanks in advance
Cheers
Samuel

Phone displays "Network Locked SIM Card" Inserted after flashing a stock firmware

Phone displays "Network Locked SIM Card" Inserted after flashing a stock firmware
I recently uninstalled Magisk, and was able to only boot into download mode after. So, I downloaded a stock firmware for my s9+ 965f and flashed it through odin (using AP,BL, CP, CSC(didnt select HOME CSC). But after rebooting, the phone displays "Invalid SIM. Network Locked SIM Card Inserted".
It asks for PUK code to unlock the phone and the cellular service alone is not working now. My phone is already region unlocked and I have been using it for the past 8 months. Has anybody got this issue and any suggestions on how to solve it?
Previous OS: soldierx rom for 965f v12 on Oreo
What I did,
i) uninstall all modules in magisk,
ii) uninstall magisk,
iii) phone auto-reboot
iv) Now phone stuck in download mode. Cannot boot it
v) downloaded stock firmware G965FXXU2BRGA
vi) flashed through Odin(AP,BL,CP,CSC)
vii) Phone completely formatted and boots up.
"Error:Invalid SIM card inserted. Network Locked SIM card detected "
I am now being asked for PUK code or cellular service wont work
You need to contact your carrier for PUK code, its protective measure against too many wrong PIN attempts on specific SIM. Can't fix that with any flashing.

This is where the problem is. You put any sim card in that phone, you get the same error. The sim card works fine if I put in any other phone. I am not sure but unistalling Magisk has caused "SIM Card Read Error" in my S9+. I even upgraded to Pie from Oreo and flashed 3 different stock firmwares but the sim card error exists.
 @topjohnwu
I would appreciate if you can help me on this. Not sure how to fix the issue
Looking up the error message itself points to some sort of network/carrier lock. If I am reading regional lock and carrier lock definitions correctly the two are not the same..
Did you have the phone network unlocked or was it network unlocked when you had root installed? If the device was network unlocked when it was rooted and you flashed back to stock (which removes root) this might explain what is going on...

This is an unlocked phone. I had magisk installed and when trying to uninstall it to upgrade to latest magisk, the device wont boot except download mode. So, I downloaded stock firmware and flashed it. Once I boot up with the new stock firmware, I get this error
There is some sort of lock on the phone, which is why your being asked for the code.
I think you should definetly try was what was suggested above.. trying to contact the carrier and see if they can give you the PUK code. If I recall correctly you get a few tries to enter it correctly before it won't let you anymore (and it might lock the phone up good or damage the sim)
I'm having a similar issue on a Verizon A50. Any progress?

depending on what method was used to unlock it, its likely no longer unlocked. some sellers of unlock codes neglect to mention that part. im betting its locked again

[GUIDE] Restore baseband - K6 Note - when no IMEI/no outgoing calls/WiFi or BT issues

Hi all,
I just wanted to share what I did when I had a few problems with my Lenovo K6 Note - karatep.
What did I do which ruined my phone?
I unlocked my bootloader, still on stock ROM, haven't installed TWRP yet.
Since then no calls on non-VoLTE network like Vodafone/Airtel/BSNL.
Primary SIM doesn't connect to any other network than 4G.
I had installed CM15.1 ROM with TWRP and Magisk root and I had the same network issues.
When should you follow this guide?
You have problems with network connectivity where you can't make calls on 3G or 2G network.
Primary (data) slot doesn't connect to 3G or 2G.
No signal on either one slot or both the slots.
IMEI shown as null or 0.
WiFi and Bluetooth address either different or shown as unavailable.
Rebooting to fastboot and performing "fastboot erase modemst1; fastboot erase modemst2" didn't work for you and lost your IMEI and/or WiFi and Bluetooth address.
Do not reboot to fastboot and execute "fastboot erase modemst1; fastboot erase modemst2". I lost my IMEI and MAC because of this.
Requirements:
1. Your phone needs to have root access.
2. Your original IMEI numbers and WiFi address, you can find them from your phone's packaging box.
If you don't have your IMEI, better use an IMEI from an old/dead phone of yours. Don't google this up, there can be blacklisted IMEIs.
Steps:
Preparing the .QCN file for restoration
Download and install UltraEdit (you can google up this for the link)
Download and install Qualcomm QPST/QFIL downloader (google it again)
Download IMEI Converter (find it in the attachments below)
Download .QCN file (find it in attachments, this is for Lenovo K6 Note - karatep)
Get your IMEI (for both the slots), WiFi and Bluetooth addresses
Open IMEI Converter and type your IMEI. You will get the hexcode for your IMEI, get the hexcode for both of your IMEIs. Copy the hexcodes.
Open the .QCN file with UltraEdit and search for "08 8A 11 11 11 11 11 11 11" (without the quotes). This is the dummy IMEI in the file, you have to replace it with your phone's IMEI.
In UltraEdit, goto find and replace, search for 08 8A 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 and replace it with your IMEI's hexcode. You have to replace the first hexcode with the hexcode for your second slot's IMEI and the second hexcode with the hexcode for your first slot's IMEI.
Search for AA AA AA AA AA AA and replace it with your WiFi MAC address, this has to update your Bluetooth address as well, there are four places where you have to replace it with your WiFi MAC address.
Save the .QCN file and close UltraEdit.
Enabling DIAG COM port on your phone to download .QCN to your phone
Execute in command prompt.
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
Click to collapse
This will enable the diagnostic port on your phone.
Restoring .QCN to your phone
Open QFIL as administrator.
Connect your phone to your computer, keep your phone powered on with DIAG port enabled.
Goto Tools -> QCN Backup Restore
Browse your edited .QCN file
Don't change SPC code - leave it as such.
Select Enable Multi-SIM.
Click on Restore QCN.
This will take some time, once done, restart your phone.
Voila! Your IMEI, WiFi and Bluetooth addresses should be updated and network should be able to receive signal and place calls.
Please feel free to reach me if you run into any issues, I'll try my best to help you!
Thanks,
tfr!

No it will not. Flashing stock firmware even with QFIL will not fix baseband issue.

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply, we have a bad network connection here due to the lockdown.
Coming to your problem, karatep simply refers to K6 Note, so you have done the right procedure hopefully.
Can you see the IMEI when you enter *#06# in the Dialer?
You're on stock ROM right? Where did you get it from? You did a full flash with QFIL or a ROM flash only? Please note that ROM flashes can be dirty.
If you can see your IMEI, please try the following in the order I've mentioned below.
1. Check the network settings and select the proper network type. Especially if you are on Jio, set it to LTE only, make sure that the non-Jio SIM is set to GSM only. This is the most common problem.
2. Perform a full system reset from recovery, must solve the problem usually.
3. Try lineage 15.1 or 16.0, you'll be able to find the links here, they are really stable and worth upgrading.
4. Full factory flash with QFIL, you should be able to find videos on YouTube, else let me know, I'll be happy to help!
Let me know the results.
Happy to help!

Thank you for the reply,
i do see my imei when i enter the code, Its the sn number that has been changed..
and about the stock rom part, I didn't do it by myself, i had given the phone to a repair shop earlier to fix the issue, this was before i flashed the QCN myself,
i flashed the qcn from a youtube video and all that guy had told was to have stock rom marshmallow, the repair shop had flashed a marshmallow rom so i figured it would do.. but i dont know what tool they used to flash it..
i used QFIL to flash the QCN though..
Let me try the factory reset solution and if that dont work i ll try to flash stock rom again...
for the other two,
1. The network settings are inaccessible for me(i tried to attach screenshots but its asking for URLs)
3. I really dont want to use lineage OS if i dont have to..
let me try the other solutions and i ll let you know..
thank you so much for helping me..

Hello,
You cannot do anything about the serial number, there is currently no way to restore it, it should not limit the functionality of the device.
Is your phone rooted now? Do you have TWRP installed? Try resetting the phone from TWRP. If it doesn't work, restore stock rom with QFIL. Restoring with QFIL will reprogram your eMMC chip and revert it to stock, TWRP will be removed. This will give you the cleanest possible install.
For flashing QCN, you don't need stock Marshmallow. I'm on Lineage 16.0 and I keep changing my MAC address with QFIL, that is not a problem at all.
I'd like to see the screenshots, you can add them as attachments... Use the paper clip icon above, else upload the image to Google Drive and put the URL here.
Happy to help!

You don't have to root if you're flashing with QFIL.
How did you flash the QCN without root anyways?
Again, what network are you in?

i followed this youtube video..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-4tmWvTGiI
i remember reading about it somewhere.. you only need to enable diagnostic mode to flash QCN, and many phones require root to enable this port, and some other need root to unlock to bootloader..
but k53a48 phones have unlocked bootloader and diagnostic mode port can be enabled easily like the guy in the youtube video..
(power off and press power button and volume up till a screen comes on and then connecting the USB, the PC installs the diagnostic port..
this is what i think happened.. i had zero errors during qcn flashing and i hope i didn't do it wrong?
I Have idea network if that is what you asked
The ROM download is complete..so i ll start flashing then?

this is what i think happened.. i had zero errors during qcn flashing and i hope i didn't do it wrong?
I Have idea network if that is what you asked
The ROM download is complete..so i ll start flashing then?

It's correct that you have to enable only the diagnostic port to download QCN, but I'm not sure of the procedure that you describe here....
K6 Note doesn't come with an unlocked bootloader by default, you'll have to manually unlock.
I'm not sure of the technique that is shown in the video, the general procedure to open the diagnostic port is through adb. But if you are sure that the IMEI is flashed correctly, then there's nothing to worry about I guess.
Again, you're going to flash the S223 ROM using QFIL right?
Your network is fine, it's non-VoLTE, so calls should work if you have restored the QCN properly.
I m downloading the rom from a link in the description of a video..there were multiple stock files and i asked the youtuber and he told me download this one..
Lenovo_K6_Note_K53A48_K53_USR_S306_1709051329_Q00440_POLK_QPST
This is the one that i downloaded.. why are there so many stock files anyway? Is this right? Else
Would flashing stock using lenovo moto assistant application work?
Some people in xda had success using lenovo moto assistant..but the application asks for HW code and I cannot find my HW code from my sn number- HNB1GDX3 ,
No calls are not working, even ussd codes arent working..does that mean that even the qcn flash was done wrong ?:crying:

Hello,
The file seems to be correct. You should install QPST and use it to flash the ROM file.
Lenovo moto assistant might work, I had no success with that though.
The QCN that you used might be probably dirty, I'd suggest you to reflash with QPST and try burning the QCN again. Generate a new QCN before you do.
Sir, I Did custom ROM flash for lenovo K6 note, with twrp and lineage OS 16, after completion of ROM flash, although I have IMEI number, wifi MAC address in about phone section
My problems to FIX:
------------------------
1) Need Volte support(VOLTE not supporting for my JIO SIM)
2) *#06# IMEI code not working(IT shows "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." although the IMEI numbers are available in About phone category under settings)
3) In settings Bluetooth address "Unavailable"

Hey FayazD,
What you've mentioned seems to be a common problem and I couldn't really find a fix.
1). VoLTE doesn't seem to work. Before writing this post (restoring the baseband), no other calls except VoLTE ones worked for me. After restoring the baseband, 3G/2G calls work and VoLTE doesn't work. I'm not sure if there is a fix for that.
2). This could probably be an issue with the ROM itself. Try to flash a different ROM, I recommend AEX, which I'm currently using and is very stable.
3). The Bluetooth address issue again is something which I observed in Lineage 16. It shouldn't affect the functionality, except for the changing Bluetooth address on every reboot. Not sure if it is an issue with the ROM itself, try AEX, this issue isn't present there. Again note that the Bluetooth address could be shown as "Unavailable" when Bluetooth is turned off.
Will update if there is a solution for the VoLTE thingy.
