I have bought a new Pixel 6 few week ago and get some missed calls and sms (where a Pixel 3a had no such problems). I wonder if I still have connection problems despite the fact that I have all upgrades installed.
I live in Germany and use o2 with LTE with a physical sim and a T-Mobile esim just for plain gsm.
I monitored the cell towers using the app netmonitor.

Sometimes I see cell towers with a by far better signal strength but they are not used. Some seconds later they disappear. Do you have an explanation for that or how to improve it?

Running stable Android 13 ? Perhaps enrolling into the Android beta program will help (QPR). It includes the latest drivers and firmware for thePixel 6 modem.

After upgrading to stock ICS, I have had awful reception and dropped calls every single day. I have tried with 3 past CM9 versions, with foxhound rom, Checkrom and with 3 or 4 stock ICS roms from samsung.
I have also tried flashing the following modems:

the best result I got are on the following stock rom i tried yesterday:
this is in my house, perople have to call me 3 or 4 times before the phone rings.
yerterday at the park, 50 mts from a cell tower, I had 100% signal, perople still had to try and call me 3 or more times before the phone got the call. looks like 100% signal still gives me problems
what else can I do? I have searched and I have done plenty of wipes, I have tried with the phone rooted, unrooted, doing multiple factory resets, installing many different roms and modems. I live in venezuela and have the operator movistar.
I also have a samsung galaxy spica, and I dont get any dropped calls on it.
still have the problem

If the signal was fine on GB I guess it is not a hardware issue. Perhaps you need to install more modems in order to manually search the one that will boost your signal OR you can enter the Modems topic and ask there who has the same network as you do and perhaps you'll receive some feedback there.
I am planning on hooking my S4 up to O2 or Vodafone when I get there with a Talk/SMS plan, but maybe no data.
Will this phone be able to lock in with GPS without having a data plan?
I realize I will need an app that has the maps cached on my phone, any reccommendations on which ones or if this is possible with Google Maps?
Thanks, guys.
Sygic. It is a paid app and costs a bit, though.
I could be wrong but I don't think you have to have a data plan to use GPS. Here's the reason behind my response:
My neighbor has been asking if he can use an unactivated iPhone as a speedometer in his 1930 Model A. At first, I said no, then researched and found mixed responses. So this morning I removed the sim from my S4 and drove to work with a speedometer app I had previously downloaded. To my suprise, it worked.

Try removing your sim card and navigating. That'd answer your question.

You do not need a data plan to use the standalone GPS functionality. If AGPS data is old it might take longer for a fix, but that's about it. It's the maps and software that you'd need to be cached/stored locally.
As proof, here is an amusing screenshot for you, and no, it's not a GPS glitch.
anyone have any experience with one of these free GPS apps?
First off, thanks in advanced for reading this and any helpful comments are appreciated. I got my Xperia Z2 back in July. It was the International Version. I came from the Samsung Galaxy S4. I got the the S4 through ATT and the Z2 is my first unlocked phone. Anyway, I took the SIM card from the S4 and I put it in the Xperia Z2. At the time I had no idea about APN's and such so I expected the mobile data to work right off the bat. When I realized it didn't work, I went to the ATT store and they put in the APN settings and the Mobile Data works but I've noticed, it's very slow. On both H+ full bars and LTE full bars I have less than 1mbps download and the upload is even worse. I don't know what to really do. I tried putting in the APN settings myself and I learned about the Internet Settings in the more setting of connections and had the phone get the settings automatically. But still, no matter where I am, my data speeds are slow. I recently put the SIM card back in the S4 and the speeds are fine on there. I already considered if it was my plan but my brother is on the same plan as I am (He has a Nexus 5) and his speeds were significantly faster than me when we were out. I apologize in advanced if I sound like an idiot or an amateur but this is new to me. So again thank you for reading my long story! And here's a link of the screenshot I took of my speeds at full LTE Speeds:

Sprint just notified me that the Sprint Vision upgrade (but not Spark) is complete in my area (suburbs of Washington, DC. 10 tests got me this range. I'm pretty happy.

I hope the next stop is Milwaukee... I had to disable LTE because my phone was stuck in limbo between 1 bar of LTE or 4-5 bars of 3g. Its better by my home, but at best I get half those speeds. ?
Sent from my Nexus 7 (Flo) running CleanRom 3.5 and ElementalX 2.13.
Just a few weeks before they officially went live here, my LTE speeds, in the same location, were around 7-8 Mbps. So whatever the final step in the upgrade process is seems to make a big difference.
Thats about same as what I'm getting I'm Warner Robins Ga. South of Atlanta. I am only 2 months on sprint now so I am not savvy yet on the triband and all. But I am happy with lte or spark as it shows lte and spins this little spark around averaging 17 to 20 down and 6 to 12 up. Fluctuates. But I'm not sure if this is best it gets here where I live or I'm still getting the upgrade. So. However I'm easy. As long as I can watch video without buffer at 1080 or 720 I'm happy. Quick posts and searches. I really see no real need for 80 up and down plus. Lol. Unless I needed to download a movie fast. Which I do not.

Just got my Tmobile variant unlocked and using on AT&T. Only getting 4G. I've seen users having the same issue. Has anyone got LTE working? I've tried numerous APN's from AT&T as well as other suggestions and still nothing. Thanks in advance for any help.
Yes I have lte working on cricket(att). I have attached some screen shots.

I have a T-Mobile phone as well, and I had a more complicated problem getting mine to work. First thing's first - make sure you have your phone properly activated at an AT&T retail store, which is to say you can't have hotswapped the SIM; it needs to be tied to your IMEI. If it still doesn't work, make sure you're using the nxtgenphone APN. If you still have no luck, maybe you have the same problem as me. On AT&T's end, for some bizarre reason, my IMEI got registered as one that could not support LTE, so my line didn't get provisioned for it. I kept calling back, but no one could figure out how to change my provisioning. Finally I got a rep who tried something out of the box. He generated a "dummy" IMEI number for me, one that would be seen on the system as one that supports LTE, and registered that to my line. Lo and behold, that did the trick. I called Technical Support for this (you can ask to be transfered to that department if you call AT&T), so you might have to go through that - the good news is, it was rather quick, and I didn't have to get a new SIM card for it.
